Once upon a time in April of 2020 we read our first Carnacki story - but we did not read it on air. Now the Horse of the Invisible has returned to wreak its revenge, and only Chris and Paris of the Terrible Book Club podcast can rescue the Antiques Freaks from its horrible haunting.
Wherein we are joined by our friend Chris from the Terrible Book Club podcast for Chapter XXXVI — The Consultation. — The Duel and its Results. Check out Chris and Paris's podcast Terrible Book Club wherever you find your favorite podcasts! Varney the Vampire is a genuine penny dreadful, read aloud one chapter per week just like the original Victorian working class audience would do for the authentic 1840s Chartist coffeehouse experience. You can read a whole book full of 19th century etiquette… or you can read the hastily-tacked-on final chapter listing one hundred fun facts the author didn't have space to include elsewhere. The Antiques Freaks are joined by the Terrible Book Club for some antique advice from the historical etiquette manual Frost's Laws and By-Laws of American Society by S. A. Frost (published 1869). (The editorial staff of Antiques Freaks are fully aware that “Victorian” does not accurately describe events and publications occurring in America as by the 19th century we had thoroughly thrown off the yoke of monarchy; however in the interest of SEO we are forced to title the podcast episode thus. Pray accept our deepest apologies.)
Chris read Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yaros on his own and retold the plot to Paris on this very special Twitch livestream to celebrate 200 episodes of Terrible Book Club. This time, we read stuff NOT for TBC, listened to music, watched TV and movies, and played video games! After a failed guest episode, we had to fill the schedule so we decided to do another recap of the non-TBC books, music, and video games we've enjoyed so far this year like we did at the end of last year. If this is your first time listening to this show, maybe choose another episode because today we're talking about our personal media consumption so far in 2024, so you'll (mostly) hear about things we actually liked for once. Musings and derailments in this episode include: our love for the Hendrick's seasonal collection and the Polar Summer Seasonal 2024 flavor line-up; can sexy clowns enter into the Clown Registry? the best and only use for AI; heavy metal doctors; sneaking Andrew Tate into trad metal playlists on YouTube; and Skibidi Toilet Trees. *Local primaries and the general election are both coming up fast! Victorian interior decorating, now with electricity! Paris of Terrible Book Club joins the Antiques Freaks for a deeper dive into our old friend Decorative Electricity. Where once we presented you a Sparknotes summary, we now give you the full text of Chapter Three: The Hall and Staircase. Join us, won't you? Thank you.
We read Butch for today's episode at the request of listener Os who emailed us last year saying,"A while ago, I read a book that, while incredibly badly written, still somehow left me feeling for the protagonist, because all the other characters are (in every sense of the word) ridiculously homophobic. It's called "Butch" by Jay Rayn. It's a "life story thus far" type of book about a butch woman who constantly ights discrimination in the most cartoonish ways possible and romances just about every woman she meets. I'm 99% sure this is just a veiled attempt at rewriting her own biography by the author. Maybe this can be a fresh bad taste for your reading palate. Best, Os (a listener who bought that book thinking it was actually a big deal for butch culture, only to realize they had been tricked by the self-publishing author).” References & Thanks: "G.I. Joes in Barbie Land": Recontextualizing Butch in Twentieth-Century Lesbian Culture by Sherrie A. Inness & Michele Lloyd https://www.ncsby.org/content/normative-sexual-behavior Thanks to Tris for consulting on this episode and helping us navigate Butch identity In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode includes discussion or mention of: homophobia, racism, and sexual assault.
You're not wamping high enough. You need to wamphigher. Terrible Book Club is back to help the Antiques Freaks cope with William Hope Hodgson's non-Carnacki fiction. Come for the crossdressing sailors, stay for the true story of how Dee got banned from the mantis shrimp facebook group.
It's winter holiday time again, so you all get a little gift from TBC! Please enjoy this special edition of Less Terrible Book Club. People often wonder what else we're reading in a given year so we figured it was worth a brief discussion and rating of our Non-TBC reads from 2023. We wish you a lovely winter and/or holiday time if that's what you get up to at this time of year! See you soon for Season 9. Hail Terriblo. Chris's 2023 Non-TBC Reading List: The Music Lesson by Victor Wooten The Scar by China Miéville The Dark Profit Saga by J. Zachary Pike Jade City by Fonda Lee Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter The Frugal Wizard's Handbook for Surviving Medieval England by Brandon Sanderson Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin Paris's 2023 Non-TBC Reading List: This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone Perdido Street Station by China Miéville Jagannath by Karen Tidbeck Walking on Cowrie Shells by Nana Nkweti The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka The Secret Language of Flowers by Jean-Michel Othoniel Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata Heavy by Kiese Laymon They Were Here Before Us: A Novella in Pieces by Eric LaRocca Babel or the Necessity of Violence by R.F. Kuang To Wallow in Ash & Other Sorrows by Sam Richard The Witch's Garden by Sandra Lawrence Lockdown Laureate by O.F. Cieri Feed Them Silence by Lee Mandelo In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes very brief mentions of: beastiality, death/murder/violence, ED/weight, and homophobia.
Ken of Antiques Freaks suggested that we read this and the time is nigh. Come along with us to Atlantis and Lemuria while we try to figure out why all of sentient life in the cosmos is organized like your local Target. The return of LMJ. Additionally, we are baffled as to why authors never seem to be able to cite a quote from a famous person that's actually real. In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode contains: aliens, a touch of racism/eugenics, and dangerously high levels of woo-woo and conspiracy.
For today's episode, we read The Energy Conspiracy by David C Seman, vanity published in 1981. This was requested by our patron beastwiththeleast, who had this to say: "Here's to another year of Terriblo's blessings and curses. I hereby submit my patron book request for you guys to read at some point next year...I haven't read the book in full, but I skim-read a few of the extremely short chapters. It looks like the sort of thing Ted Cruz would badger his wife into reading to him as a bedtime story. Please enjoy (tolerate? choke down?) this word salad tossed with right-wing dystopian elements, baffling typos, half a pound of cheese wrapped in aluminum foil, and dry-ass dialogue in place of croutons. BYOB." Thanks for the recommendation, beastwiththeleast. We applaud your efforts in finding us an out-of-print book and digitally rendering it for ease of reading - truly a gentleman and a scholar! In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode includes discussion or mention of: THE GUB'MINT in the vein of authoritarianism and some conservative and libertarian viewpoints around energy.
We read Jam by Yahtzee Croshaw this week at the request of our Patron Of the Void (The Taco-Eating Unicorn). We bring you a gray goo apocalypse dyed red atop a bland satire about how lame both terminally online and terminally corporate people are. The Taco-Eating Unicorn from the Void would like to dedicate today's episode to his sister, Jade B., for being amazing through everything he's gone through recently, despite being in a different state. Yay Jade! Today's show includes out usual barnyard language plus discussion or mention of: violence, both jam and human in flavor, and a brief discussion of a shitty slur.
This time we read The Golden Basement by David Norman Lewis, self-published in March of 2023. This was recommended by long-time listener, first-time caller Max who sent us a wonderful email recommending that we read this saying, "A few months ago you might have noticed a poem titled "$Reward$If$Found$" stapled up all over Cambridge, there were a couple reddit threads about it. On going back to my hometown of Seattle, WA I found out the poem is from a local self-published book...The author has been stapling the same poem everywhere. The novel is a "kids' book" about underground monsters controlling people's thoughts during the 1990 Goodwill Games...There's a YouTube video where the author is trying to sell it with donuts. You have to check it out. I so want to hear your takes on it…I emailed the author and he told me the baker is a friend of his. They once worked together on trying to make a new religion for Seattle but nobody showed up." Thank you so very much, Max, for your longtime support and for recommending this book. It was very different from anything we've read before and we actually didn't hate it! Today's show includes our usual barnyard language plus discussion or mention of: emotional abuse, enslavement, murder, parental neglect and abuse, sexual assault, and suicide. Random Band/Album Reference from this Episode: Swan Christy - One with the Swan
Get your flannels, ciders, and s'mores ready for this week's discussion of Campfire Stories of Western Canada by Barbara Smith! Paris's friend Kristina recommended this for the show 6 years ago and we finally found a nice spot for it on the schedule. Thanks for sending us on this silly autumnal adventure, Kristina! Today's show includes our usual barnyard language plus cartoon-level “spooky” stuff like a beheaded ghost, sasquatch, and spectral french fries.
One Hundred Proofs that the Earth is Not a Globe was written and self-published by William Boyd Carpenter in 1885. However, Chris found this on a homeschooler's Twitter page where it was recommended for teaching children in 2023, so we figured it was worth a review. The 9th Colony by Colin Curtis was vanity published through AuthorHouse UK in February of 2023. We received an email from a podcast PR rep asking us to have the author on the show as a guest. We don't have authors on the show, but we get a lot of these emails because some PR companies just send blanket form emails without actually having any idea what the podcasts or other entities they're contacting actually do. Normally we just skim and delete, but this one caught our eye because it suggested that Mr. Curtis had expertise in the science of human evolution and space exploration and would talk about "the evolution debate". Considering the book was only 128 pages, it seemed worth a read and review for us this year. Disclaimer: Most of this year's episodes were pre-recorded many months in advance. Please keep in mind that when we recorded this review in early 2023, the UAP/UFO hearings in congress that took place in July obviously hadn't happened yet. If you haven't yet watched or read the transcripts of those hearings, it's worth your time: UAP Hearing Wrap Up In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode includes discussion or mention of: aliens, alien abduction, cartoon-level violence, conspiracy theories, and UAPs/UFOs. If you're interested in our take on a WWII popcorn spy thriller, it's here! It's hard for us to say no to reviewing a book when you mail it to us. We got a copy of His Majesty's Hope through the magnificence of the US postal system from our Patron EasternSwiss. They asked us to read it for their Patron's Choice episode this year, telling us that this book is about, "a British tutor [who] becomes a spy to fight Nazis, but neglects her duties, gets her partner killed over dumb shit, and never listens to smart people...her half sister in Germany is...clueless about Nazis despite her mother being a top official with the party! Like how can you know nothing about what's happening!? It's implied Goebbels sometimes visits her house, like c'mon - you know some shit.” In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode includes discussion or mention of: Nazis and their whole deal during WWII, but specifically child murder, eugenics, prison camps, and mild violence.
We've got another reddit find for you this week! Paris found this when perusing the latest "What's the worst book you've ever read?" post that surfaces a few times each year in various literary subreddits. In one response, redditor u/lydiardbell explained that Interview with the Devil (Part 1 - Victor's Account) was indeed the worst book they've ever read. What made it really memorable was that the author threatened to burn their house down for the review they wrote for the book. In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes mention or discussion of: cannibalism, violent abuse, r*pe/sexual assault, su*cide, and torture.
Behold, the Furby. Animatronic nostalgia or uncanny valley horror? What sort of aftermarket exists for these retro and vintage toys? And why do folks insist on making them long? Dee is joined by Paris of the Terrible Book Club podcast for this exploration into the weird and wild world of Furbies.
Chris found this being discussed on various subreddits related to men writing female characters. The book was pulled from Amazon and other platforms shortly after the internet criticism began, but someone managed to save it on an archive.org page. Thanks to them, our minds are now poisoned - and yours can be, too! In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes mentions or discussion of nearly every heinous thing you can imagine, some of which include: auto-cannibalism, blood drinking, domestic partner abuse, r*pe/sexual assault, racism, and deadly amounts of misogyny. If tackling red-pilling and misogyny feels too big and heavy, follow Sam Kirsch for a quick anti-patriarchy tip of the day and other men's mental health topics in short form (and also some features on books, body mods, guitars, & heavy metal) If you're OK with being slowly eaten alive by a woman you hate for the chance to have sex, consider therapy and other health resources instead: https://mantherapy.org/ https://www.bethedifferencescv.org/resources-for-men.php
Our Patron Julius the Nice Dragon requested today's book saying, “I want to nominate...“First Impressions” by SJ Saunders…It's the first of three installments in a rather short trilogy I found floating on audible, but it never found an audience. Several years later it has about five total reviews online! So I think the question [for] this book is - Why did it flop the YA “dystopia” space? Is it too mediocre? Just got bad and irrelevant? Good but undiscovered?" We return to The Dunks! This book is all about cyborgs and supersoldier cloned teens in future Boston. Naturally, we discuss the MBTA for too long because we discover that even in an imagined highly advanced technological society, it still doesn't work. In fact, there is so much Boston-talk in this episode that it may be dangerous to listeners outside of New England. Please be advised.
Our Patron Lucek requested today's book saying, “Drew Hayes is becoming one of my favorite comedic authors. His NPCs and Fred the Vampire account series are very good. . . but we all have to start somewhere. So, I was hoping you'd read his first published novel, Pears and Perils.” Join us on the island of Kenowai for a Scooby Doo-esque friendship adventure including a cat who is king, a magical pear, and capitalist buffonery.
This week, we were asked to review The Long Moonlight by our Patron Arrant with nary another word. Such mystery - why was this recommended for the show? Why is this moonlight so very löng? Many thanks to Arrant for their longtime patronage of the show! In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes discussion of general fantasy violence/gore.
Once upon a time, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote something besides Sherlock Holmes. (Shocking, we know.) What if you went to medical school in the 1880s and also your dormitory neighbor had an ancient Egyptian mummy? Chris and Paris have joined the Antiques Freaks to answer this most daring question. CONTENT WARNING for Victorian racism and Orientalism.
This week's review of Millenium University is the product of another of Chris's Amazon Short Reads explorations. Join us this time for some true book sins, like writing out counts for arm stretches, accidentally sentient kitchens, and pacing whiplash!
Tanner's basement book pile produces a new treasure - but at a cost. We just wanted to play with our cats and now we're in another cult. Why does this keep happening to us?
Listener and friend-of-the-show Charlotte donated Afterlife Love to the show and one look at the cover was enough to secure it a place on the schedule for 2023. This week, we take a trip back to Arizona in 1999 and then onward to all of the etheric and astral planes! Content Warnings: In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes discussion of: cults, dangerous levels of woo-woo, astral travel, pyramid/MLM schemes, sex, and sexual assault/r*pe.
Have you ever wanted to know what would happen if Sherlock Holmes encountered a vampire? Fortunately, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has written that story. Unfortunately, he wrote it whilst deep in his “fairies are totally real you guys” phase. Chris and Paris of the Terrible Book Club join the Antiques Freaks in tearing apart Sherlock Holmes and The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire. Enjoy!
It's Valentine's Day so we thought, "Why not celebrate with multiple wives?" Friend-of-the-show Tris recommended Tarryn Fisher's The Wives to us after she read it in 2021 and wondered how the ending could've been quite so bad. We're back from our nearly 3 month winter break and re-entry to our 8th year of terrible books was a painful one. Content Warnings: In addition to our usual barnyard language, today's episode includes discussion or mention of: domestic violence, mental health struggles, miscarriage, misogyny (both internalized and externalized!), & polygamy
It's Paris's birthday today so Chris gave her the gift of skipping this episode! Instead, Mary Parker is here with Chris to discuss their experience reading this novelization of the popular 80s Spielberg film. Even though this book is supposed to be based on Melissa Mathison's screenplay, Kotzwinkle really took some wild "I'm-a-dude-in-the-80s" liberties with her story. Content Warnings: aliens, government abductions, medical torture, and interspecies MILF longings.
2023 - the year when all of Sherlock Holmes finally enters the public domain. To celebrate, Chris and Paris of the Terrible Book Club podcast have joined the Antiques Freaks to explore one of the worst canonical Holmes stories ever written, The Adventure of the Creeping Man.
Since the well of terrible Carnacki stories has run dry, the Antiques Freaks are here today with us to read a terrible Sherlock Holmes story! The Adventure of the Creeping Man is less of an adventure and more about young people being upset that older people have sex. Content Warnings: In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes: mild sexual humor, mention of drugs, and various bad Victorian ideas and opinions.
In 1888, playwrights raced (literally) to stage the first theatrical production of Robert Louis Stevenson's instant classic horror novel. The results were… mixed. And today, Chris and Paris of the Terrible Book Club podcast have joined the Antiques Freaks and chosen to read for your pleasure the absolute worst version of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. We have done problems.
The time is upon us for creepy Craftsmans! This week we discuss our experience reading Man, Fuck This House by Brian Asman and our feelings about haunted houses in general. Our Patron Will chose this for us to read this year and we cannot thank Will enough both for his patronage and his great recommendations. Content Warnings: In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes discussion of: action-movie level violence, gore, demonic children, ghosts, haunted houses, mental health issues, and possessions.

Our friend Chris of the Terrible Book Club podcast tells us all about the wild, wacky, and bizarrely superstitious world of vintage audio equipment. Tone woods. Toasted maple. Centaurs. It's all here.
A few months ago on a website far, far away... It is a dark time for the Terrible Book Club. Although 2021 is nearly over, Terriblo still pursues them through the far reaches of time and space. Evading the dreaded Christmas Cheer, our two intrepid readers - Paris and Chris - have hidden away in the icy enclave of New England. However, the evil lord Terriblo, obsessed with torturing the young readers, has dispatched thousands of terrible holiday books into the far reaches of bookstores and libraries…. Content Warnings: In addition to our usual barnyard language, this episode includes discussion of: general cartoon-levels of violence, mention of a massacre, and other evils associated with fascist empires.
Chris and Paris from the Terrible Book Club podcast join us to read yet another story from Carnacki the Ghost-Finder! A chilling tale of spooky Edwardian haunting by William Hope Hodgson. It's like if Sherlock Holmes pointed at ghosts instead of solving mysteries. And Watson was divided into four characters, none of whom are permitted to speak or do anything. CONTENT WARNING for graphic animal death (dog).

Our friends Paris and Chris from the Terrible Book Club podcast join us once again for another read-along of everyone's favorite Edwardian supernatural Sherlock Holmes rip-off, Carnacki the Ghost Finder! The restaurant is a failure, but that doesn't stop the head chef Alistair from coming up with beautiful, onion based, delicacies. But, little does he know, the restaurant is just being used as a front for a drug cartel. As management attempts to revamp the business (and find a way to pay their employees) things take a turn for the worse. Will Stacia keep things going in her favor with the drug dealing? Will Jerry turn the restaurant into what he's always dreamed of? Will Alistair cook something that doesn't contain onions? Find out as we hop into the brand new version of Fiasco for the first time! It's time for an Edwardian ghost-hunting Sherlock Holmes knock-off! We do a live read of the William Hope Hodgson short story The Searcher of End House from the collection Carnacki the Ghost-Finder. Including bingo, wet-aged mutton, and our special guests Chris and Paris from the Terrible Book Club podcast. It's the very best/worst of 1910s science fiction.
The Christmas Office Party (in July) is about to happen as our intern, Stewart, is trying to pick up the slack of Carolynn, the soon to retire IT manager. Meanwhile, Topher is trying to get dirt on the company to pass off to his Russian counterparts in an attempt to bring the whole place down. While Rutabega Marie makes some not so subtle passes at Stewart, will the holiday party go off without a hitch? Of course not. This week we're reading "Christmas in Silver Bell Falls" by Samantha Chase. It's the most wonderful time of the year - Hallmark holiday movie season! To celebrate Ganesh's favorite genre, we're dipping into the literary equivalent. A saccharine sweet treat that goes great with a piping hot chocolate, scarf this garbage down with a smile on your face and a jingle bell song in your heart.
We discuss some related podcasts, that if you like us, you should like them! So go give them some love and support! Here is the list, if you don't have time to listen! Terrible Book Club! Hey! Happy April Fool's day! Amid the fake pregnancies, proposals, and deaths, I'm thrilled to bring you a real awesome podcast. The lovely Moxie LaBouche from Your Brain on Facts Podcast put together a super secret group of podcasters to switch up our episodes on April 1st and I was paired up with pulp fiction novel review podcast Terrible Book Club. In this episode, which is entirely theirs, they review a book I like to refer to as a Harry Potter/Twilight demon baby book. Yeah. Enjoy! Happy Halloween! Enjoy this episode one day early as a treat from the Terrible Book Club. Crabs - The Human Sacrifice was suggested by reddit user dickdastardly and voted on by listeners as a spooky book for October. Content warning! This episode contains discussion and graphic descriptions of: blood, bleeding, crabs, cutting, disease, dismemberment, drugs, masturbation, ritual sacrifice, sexual assault, regular 'ol consensual sex, generalized violence against human and animals, & weapons (such as guns, knives, & swords). Welcome to the shallow, diseased pool of sex and crab murders that is Episode 43! We forgot to mention this on the show, but here's some crab music for this crab book: Clutch - Hot Bottom Feeder "Never mind that stuff, they sell from Vietnam Get it from the Chesapeake, but never from the can Follow my directions, it's an easy recipe Strictly by the pound. Adjust accordingly 100 million years old Transcendent creature No bones about it Hot bottom feeder Don't bother with the lump, it won't stick together I prefer backfin... Once upon a time, in a world before electronic-mail, we had stamps. From the penny black to the pony express, Antiques Freaks will tell you which stamps are hot, which stamps are not, and which stamps might be secret pro-Lincoln-assassination propoganda. Allegedly. Don't forget to check out our guest episode on the Terrible Book Club podcast! We talk about Johnny Tremain and how gay we all are for Rab.
Hello and welcome back to a show that remembers when Mr. T was wearing gold chains and was BA Barackus on the A-Team, not selling the Flavorwave oven on the Shopping Channel, or as we like to call it, Now That I'm Older! This week we discuss a true Now That I’m Older topic, drinking when we were younger. Nowadays, Kenny barely drinks and when Shane does, he can handle it a lot better, but when we were younger, it was a much different story. This week, we discuss puking in a bar, puking on yourself, getting into physical altercations while drunk and taking care of a drunk person, so check it out! This week we shouted out these #PodernFamily shows: TheLituationPodcast; Meet At The Bronze and Terrible Book Club. We also spun promos for: Tails from the Dark Dragons Inn and TheNeverlandPodcast! So check them out now! What are you waiting for! This week's show goes out to the guy who has busted his ass for the past two years to finally buy a new car. the guy who yells, "NO YOU CAN'T EAT IN HERE!" every time someone suggests grabbing some drive thru, but we know how it goes. Soon your wife and the kids will want a ride and then the kids will want ice cream and you will die a little inside as the vanilla soft serve cone turns into a weapon of mass stickiness on your leather seats. This show's for you New Car Guy! We hope the leather lasts! Have a great week guys! Can we interest you in some crawfish? Perhaps other types of seafood? Some jazz? How about some gay erotica? If you answered "yes" to any or all of these questions, you'll love this 30 page short story that masquerades as a book! Thanks (?) to D from Antiques Freaks for alerting us to the existence of this...thing. Disclaimer: We're not usually SFW, but this episode contains graphic descriptions of sexual activity so it's a bit more over-the-top than usual even for Terrible Book Club.
This time on Terrible Book Club, we read a book that wasn't truly terrible! Wow! It happened! We also have special guest Laura Filippi on to educate us about Florida, alligator farms, and alligator wrestling! Paris & Chris talk about their first piece of negative fan mail! Ultimately, Swamplandia! has some issues, but overall it was not painful to read, the characters speak like genuine human beings, and the story was intriguing and different! Issues discussed include how likely it would be for a 17 year old at a theme park to be trained as a pilot, how we feel about sexual assault being a catalyst for female protagonists, and the juxtaposition of a positive male coming-of-age story with his sister's negative coming-of-age journey! Just a warning that rape/sexual assault is discussed in this episode!
Our first sequel. Sexy nuns. Demon dicks. Naked horseback riding. All this and more can be found in Terry Goodkind's Stone of Tears, the second book in the Sword of Truth series. In Episode 22 of the Terrible Book Club, Paris and Chris return to the Midlands with a special guest! TJ was the one who recommended we read this series in the first place, so we figured we should have him along to explain himself. We recommend that you listen to Episode 3 that deals with the first book in the Sword of Truth series - Terry Goodkind's Wizard's First Rule - before listening to Episode 22.
We've returned to the fantasy realm with the first book in the Maradonia saga. It was written by a child/teenager. I know, I know - Terrible Book Club shouldn't be attacking children! We're not - we assure you. While this was written when the author was younger, she and her family continue to tout her work as amazing even now, ~7-8 years later. This book/saga has become popular on the internet due to its struggles with syntax, grammar, spelling, and general storytelling in addition to the Tesch family's antics in relation to promoting the book. Many thanks to listener Robert Kennedy for saving this episode and sending it to us to repost after it was lost over 2 years ago!
This one is for all of you who love conspiracies, chicken-and-waffles, and hot office temps. This was the first episode of Terrible Book Club that originally came into the world on Mar 13, 2015. We even did an ad for The Color of Air podcast!
