While we have spoken about the need for work-life balance, this sounds counterintuitive, but will also help keep you on track. Is it a little in each week, starting a few days early, but what does it mean to start slow at the beginning of the school year. Welcome to a brand-new Family Edition of The Tony Robbins Podcast! Join Tony Robbins, his wife Sage Robbins, and their dear friend and podcast host turned surrogate, Mary B., for an intimate, at-home conversation on the topic of CONSCIOUS PARENTING. In honor of Mother's Day 2024, Tony takes the interviewer's seat and talks to both Sage and Mary about the principles, strategies, tools, and learnings derived from their own journey as mothers. This enlightening conversation transcends traditional notions of parenting, as the trio explores the complexities of modern family dynamics. From blended families, stepparents, same-sex relationships, and co-parenting arrangements, Tony, Sage, and Mary discuss tips for how to make it work on the evolving landscape that is parenthood today. One of the highlights of this conversation is their working definition of MODERN CONSCIOUS PARENTING -- the shift from stress and fear-based parenting to an empowering and integrative awareness-based parenting. The family discuss the helpfulness of evolving from high-resistance parenting towards a more mindful, self-reflecting, and self-aware approach. By prioritizing both presence and connection, they explain how parents can create an environment that nurtures the growth of beautiful little human beings – an inside out job. The three also emphasize the significance of our language choices around children, advocating for curiosity over fury and mindfulness over fear. They also share personal anecdotes from their own experiences as parents, highlighting the impact of screen and other stimulus on children's emotional development, creativity, imagination and worldview. This episode offers invaluable insights for parents, prospective parents, and anyone interested in creating meaningful connections within their families. By embracing conscious parenting practices, Tony, Sage, and Mary invite listeners to embark on a journey of personal growth, self-discovery, and lasting harmony. Join us as we explore the transformative power of intentional parenting and discover how a slight shift in our focus can lead to profound changes with children and within ourselves! Sonia C. is on an adventure right now in Barcelona. She got an intuition hit that this could be the next place she could live and is excited to see what this beautiful city has in store for her. Sonia C. is also happy she's escaped Paris right now because everyone is olympics crazy and the crowds are just flooding the streets. It is an intense place to be right now. This week's theme is: Let go of control. Highlights: Sonia C. is happy to have a change of pace and change the vibe of her environment. [4:10] Sonia T. remembers the time Sonia C. walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Humanity is resourceful. No matter what happens, the pendulum always swings! [7:00] Sonia C. talks about getting her first tattoo and what that meant for her. [9:05] Sonia T. remembers how hard it was to grow up in a foreign school. [18:30] It's so important to rediscover a new part of you. Reborn a new version of yourself. [25:35] If you're sensitive, communicate that to the people in your life so you can set them up to succeed. [32:05] Tool of the week. [34:40] Question of the week. [41:35] Sonia C. is picking up some very intense vibes happening across the world. How do we manage this and soothe ourselves as empaths without getting burned out? We are not meant to be connected to the news, for one. They love to amp up the fear and intensity. This is one of the reasons why we have to actively manage what we decide to put in us. Sonia C. made the active choice to go to a chill place, but you can still manage your emotions, your vibe, and what you choose to consume no matter how intense your side of the world and environment might be! Sonia C. has always understood that Spain is a healing place for her. She's walked the Camino de Santiago twice and it's only really registered until now how refreshing and rejuvenated this country has been to her. It was so healing that she got a tattoo! When Sonia C.'s daughters found out she got a tattoo, both Sonia T. and Sabrina freaked out and couldn't wrap their heads around it. Tool of the Week: Don't let anybody tell you to be less than or a more quiet version than yourself. SHOW NOTES We know we shouldn't worry about things – that ‘giving it to God' is the only way to truly calm our anxieties. In life before grief, you may have tried hard to ‘stop worrying,' to stop being in control of the things you had no control over, but it wasn't easy. Now, in grief…well – that's a whole different deal. Your loss and how it occurred can cause you to fear new things while amplifying the fears we already had. The song of the week (Letting Go) has lyrics that speak to this: "Maybe I don't have to see what the future holds to trust Your promises to me. In my weakness You are strong. And in the moments when I feel powerless, you are closest to me then.” Today I'm going to share a situation in my life – just a few weeks ago – that illustrates this point. I was disappointed in my reaction because it reminded me of when I walked through grief and tried to control everything on my own. Instead, I should have given it to God and had faith to let him handle the outcome. WORD of the Week Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Sonia C. is feeling optimistic! The leaves are changing. The upcoming season is in the air. We're getting ready for spring. She's also very excited to be spending 3 weeks with Sonia T. in New Orleans! She can't wait to celebrate Jazzfest and see some of her favorite bands perform. This week's theme is: Are your vibes giving you a greenlight or a redlight? Highlights: How do you make decisions and give yourself the green light to go do big things? [2:25] How do you know if you're too in your head? [4:20] If you're trying to get the vibes from other people, you're throwing yourself overboard into the ocean! [4:40] There are three core intuitive feelings. [4:50] What's the difference between being kind vs. being nice? [6:10] Sonia C. loves embracing the ‘not today'. [8:10] Do you feel like there's something in your life that's ‘too much'? [12:35] Sonia T. got a wave of bad vibes when she was about to go to a concert. What did she do? [16:20] Tool of the week. [18:50] How do we know something is a red light vibe? [19:00] Tell your spirit and your guys what you desire, and then enjoy the ride. [29:05] Question of the week. [33:05] Whenever Sonia T. is faced with a big decision, she recognizes right away that her barking dog already doesn't like it. She has to weigh the pros and cons and has a harder time just letting go, releasing into the moment, and trusting her vibes to say yes or no. She sees it with her clients too. They're trying to be intuitive and ‘in the moment' but it's all coming from the heads. That's not how it works! You have to FEEL! How do you know if you're getting a reading from your soul/spirit or from your head? The biggest indicator is that your head will talk…a lot. It's also negative! It's trying to protect you and by doing so, it becomes a bit of a Debbie downer about it. Whereas if it's coming from your spirit and your soul, it'll tell you whether this is within alignment for you or if it's something that just doesn't feel right. Tool of the Week: Don't be nice. Be self-loving! Continue on Your Journey: Question of the Week: My boss keeps triggering me. What can I do to regulate? Your inner critic is your disempowering inner voice. We all have an inner critic inside of us. We want to be aware of our inner critic to reduce it. Remember our inner critic tends to lie to us. We want to respond to our inner critic with challenging questions like a judge in a court room and choose a more empowering and truthful statement to tell ourselves instead. This Week's Power Phrase: “I talk to myself powerful instead of listening to my inner critic.” Quote of the Week: “Don't beat yourself up for beating yourself up. We need to make friends with our inner critic.” Kristen Neff

Summer playlist, Old Dominion On a Happy Note My friend Megg and I took a longer than usual walk through our local State Park! After almost 8 miles, I came home and pressure washed the house & deck. For the deck, I used a surface cleaner from Ryobi that Dan purchased. You can find the same one on Amazon for $51. Parts of the deck were so badly stained from years of drought when we couldn't wash it. Areas where the wood pile is were especially bad. Exhausting but very satisfying day. My cousin Chris & his wife Kim threw a wonderful party for their son Benjamin's Baptism. I spent a week night at brother and sister-in-law's while they attended a work function. Ran the kids around to their activities, then Millie and I knit for a bit before she and Garret went to bed. Riley & I knit and watch Gilmore Girls before we went to bed. Truly delightful. My financial advisor reached out to me after hearing that my work Open Enrollment is coming up and there was an option for a high deductible health plan that allows for a Health Savings Account, which he had encouraged me to do before (but it wasn't an option). Great customer service! Find a good financial advisor. It is so worth it. Dan and I spent one evening at our nephew Will's soccer game in our home town. They got clobbered but it was fun to see him play. I also knit a bit and listened to my audiobook during part of the second half. Mom, Riley, Millie & I got mani pedis at a local place! Our annual Woodchopping Weekend Party went off without a hitch. Perfect weather. Great food. Dan took the kids on hayrides using a trailer pulled by the backhoe. Kids played disc golf and later flashlight tag, then retreated inside to make TikTok videos while the adults and littles made s'mores outside by the fire and chatted. Mom & I put blue streaks in our hair after our friend Erika, who cuts/colors our hair, encouraged Mom to do this before her Vegas trip last year. Mom said if she was still here to go this year, she'd do it. Here we are! It looks great. Finished up work on our FearLESS Living Fund Website. The bulk of the work and formatting, design was done by my Mom's friend Emma who was really generous to do this for us! So far we've raised almost $14,000 help the Blind community of Nevada. We are giving away awards for 2 special people to assist with their housing and cell phone costs for the upcoming year! Can't wait to raise more money. You can donate here. Watching Love is Blind and chatting about it with my friend Laura. Great customer service from AirBnB after our host canceled our Rhinebeck AirBnB. Sonia C. is back in Europe and she took a train to go see her grandchild, but in a moment of exhaustion, she ended up falling asleep, missing her stop, and woke up on a completely unexpected adventure. Sonia C.'s spirit was definitely forcing her to slow down and not be in a rush this week! This week's theme is about: Periods of transition and uncertainty. Highlights: Have you noticed an agitated energy or vibe on the planet lately? [2:45] We have a tendency to want to have a solution during times of tension or uncertainty, but sometimes that's an impossible request. [8:30] What do you do when you're dealing with an unconsciously racist person? [14:05] The spirit is always looking for what is beautiful and what is working. [19:40] What's the most beautiful thing in front of you? Look for it. [24:05] Sonia C. has got some exciting news! [28:15] Tool of the week. [25:35] Question of the week. [33:55] Sonia C. has been getting major vibes lately that the planet is in high agitation. There's just a lot of unsettled undertones and movements happening that she can't quite pinpoint to a specific outcome, but she knows it's there. Sonia T. understands completely. She feels lucky that more and more people are waking up their unconscious mind and are more open to feeling these invisible vibrations, but unfortunately, there's still a lot of people who are not conscious of them. Sonia T. understands that when she is feeling undertones of tension in the world, she can almost misdirect the root cause to something like a weird interaction with the haircut guy, or the security guard, or the person at the grocery store, for throwing her vibes off. But through a deeper awareness practice and recognizing the signs over the years, she realizes that this certain tension that is being carried is actually much bigger than that and it's not always related to the day-to-day. Sometimes the universe is just in a transitional process. Tool of the Week: Don't get sucked down the rabbit hole of negativity. Continue on Your Journey: Question of the Week: It feels like my prayers are answered from my guides, but then digging deeper I realize it's not the case. How can I stop feeling disappointed by the outcome or blessings? I'm starting to not trust my guides and instincts. After a patient reported Dr Robert Hadden assaulted her in the exam room, many women came forward with similar accusations. But aggressive tactics by lawyers for the OB-GYN stymied the prosecution, ultimately resulting in a slap on the wrist. Survivors learned behind the hardball maneuvers was Hadden's employer. For years, Columbia University ignored the complaints against the doctor, choosing to protect its brand instead of its patients. In the Wondery podcast “Exposed: Cover-Up at Columbia University,” “Dr. Death” host Laura Beil talks to survivors, advocates, and prosecutors about the decade's long effort to hold a serial sexual predator accountable. The series also explores how elite institutions wield their influence to avoid responsibility. OUR SPOILER-FREE REVIEWS OF "EXPOSED: COVER-UP AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY" BEGIN IN THE FINAL 11 MINUTES OF THE EPISODE.In Crime of the Week: Don't give a flying f*ck.Support Kevin's Walk a Mile in Their Shoes

Welcome to episode 173 of the Löw Tide Böyz - A Swimrun Podcast! On this week's show we don our alternate personas of “The FOMOBUSTERS” as we recap this past week's Swimrun Lake James. We're almost positive that if you weren't at the race, that your FOMO level was off the charts and we are here to help! Joining us to recap the event are Matt Skavnak and Pat Lowam, A.K.A., Team The Water Buffaloes. It was their first time racing Lake James and we'll re-living all the sights and sounds of this classic Swimrun. But first…Training UpdateThe training continues. We'll be engaging in extracurricular feats of endurance the next few weeks but other than that, you can find us at the pool and on the trails.ShoutoutOur shoutout this week goes out to everyone that raced Swimrun Lake James. We love this race and everything that it does for the sport. If we want the sport to grow here in the U.S. we have to support the races that are leading the charge and we need to keep showing up. So thank you for showing up! Wisdom Nugget of the WeekDon't let fear put your dreams to sleep. – Stevie WonderFeats of EnduranceThis week's winner is Rob Dick. He's a local Marin County man who is also ½ of Team Gin and Tonic and he crushed the Belgian Waffle Ride this past weekend. Don't know what that is? Well, it's only one of the coolest gravel bike races around and a worthy feat of endurance. Strong work Rob!Make sure to sign up for our LTBz Strava Club and join Swimrunners from around the world as they train for stuff. This Week in SwimrunNow for the “news.”Starting in the bummer department, Swimrunman's Grands Lac De Laffrey will not take place in 2023. We will miss that diabolical vertical Km at the end of the long course! In happier news, Swimrunman's Gorges Du Verdon is taking place this weekend. This event offers three distance options, including an “Ultra” ÖTILLÖ Merit Race distance. (Tier 3 so only ranking points are available.) This will be the first race of the year for a lot of folks and we can't wait to see the photos and videos on the internets. In product news, the forever popular (and forever out of stock) Ark Sports Kangaroo tops are back…sort of. If you want to score this amazing piece of kit (and one that we would highly, highly recommend), head on over to Arksports.com to preorder your top. The site states that they expect to get them back in stock in May and will be mailed straight away after that. That's it for this week. Reach out to us if there's any Swimrun news that you'd like for us to share on the show.Show BusinessWe are experiencing major FOMO to be missing this year's Swimrun Lake James so we thought we would host a virtual post-race party/meetup to get everyone's race report on how the day went. Join us on Zoom on Sunday May 7th at 6pm ET for a casual virtual meetup to chat about all things Swimrun.Swimrun Lake James Race Recap w/Team Water BuffaloesIt was great to chat with Matt and Pat. They've been Patrons on Patreon for a while now and it was super fun to talk shop with them. In this race recap, we cover the whole experience of Swimrun Lake James, quell FOMO, and talk about what the future holds for two buddies trying to get to ÖTILLÖ. This was a super fun conversation and it got us super stoked for the season!Make sure to check out their blog at https://thewaterbuffaloes.blogspot.com/.
