You've spent decades building a professional fortress only to realize the foundation is made of sand. In the high-stakes theater of enterprise leadership, we're taught to override our biology. We ignore the friction and bypass the nervous system to hit the quarterly target. But eventually, the bill comes due. The internal battery hits 4%, and a specific kind of "soul rot" sets in—where the VP title feels brittle and the meetings feel like a waste of your finite life force. If your internal operating system is crashing every afternoon, you don't need more "hustle." You need a better understanding of your own physics. In this episode, we sit down with Shelley McIntyre, a veteran of the Seattle tech scene who walked away from the corporate machine during the 2020 lockdown. Shelley didn't just change jobs; she reinvented her entire frequency. By using grief coaching as a lens to understand professional change, she helps high-performers navigate the profound loss of identity that comes when you take off the corporate mask. We dive deep into how to stop slogging, start regulating, and reclaim your bandwidth. In this conversation, we explore: The Mechanics of "Soul Rot": Why high-performing environments often lead to a decay of purpose and how to recognize the biological warning signs before you bottom out. Grief as a Tool for Change: Understanding that every career pivot is a process of loss, and why you must acknowledge what you're leaving behind to build something coherent. The Fallacy of Status: How to detach your self-worth from arbitrary titles and "fancy" credentials to find a more grounded, durable sense of presence. Somatic Navigation: Learning to feel for "spaciousness" and a 5% increase in energy as a strategic guide for your next move. Replacing the Social Infrastructure: Why you must rebuild your community and routine outside the office walls to avoid the isolation of the "solo" transition. Stop trying to force a broken system to work. It's time to stop the friction and start the flow. Tune in and learn how to navigate the transition from corporate utility to human resonance. Master Your Internal Map: How to "State Hop" and Choose Your State of Being

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 4, 2026 4:56

Most people let their nervous system dictate their reality. If they wake up agitated, they stay agitated. If they get irritated, they let it ruin the day. In this episode, we talk about a practice called "state hopping". Think of your internal states of being—like agitation, anxiety, overwhelm, or gratitude—as physical locations on a map, complete with boundary lines. Just like you can choose to cross a county or state line in the real world, you can make the conscious choice to step out of a negative emotional state and into a positive one. Here is what we cover in this episode: The Map Metaphor: How to visualize your emotional states as a map and actively choose where you reside. Physical Tracking: How to locate exactly where you feel gratitude (like your chest and around your heart) versus where you feel irritation in your body. The Practice: How to sit down, unfurl your internal map, and consciously "hop" between different states of being at will. The Universal Mirror: Why who you are being dictates what you emanate, and how the universe reflects that exact frequency back to you. You probably aren't going to nail it the first time, and that is completely fine. It takes purpose and practice. But once you learn how to consciously sit in a state of grace, you stop reacting to the world and start intentionally shaping it.

Listen. Most of you are out there white-knuckling the steering wheel of your career, wondering why you smell burnt rubber while the competition glides past you. You call it "the grind." I call it high-friction incompetence. You're trying to dominate a market when you can't even regulate your own pulse. It's a bad ROI on your life force. In this episode, we sit down with Jim Marshall. Jim isn't a "thought leader" or a lifestyle guru floating on a cloud of toxic positivity. He's a human development engineer who spent 50,000 hours treating human behavior like a math problem—and he actually solved for x. He's the architect of Septimics: a revolutionary system that takes the messy chaos of human interaction and breaks it down into 35 precise, seven-level scales of natural law. Stop guessing why your team is underperforming or why your personal relationships feel like a high-stakes negotiation with no leverage. Jim provides the biological GPS to help you identify exactly where you are on the map of human potential, so you can stop forcing outcomes and start navigating with coherence. In this session, we map out the internal physics of: The Scale of Basic Purposes: Why being "Normal" is a 30% demographic trap of conformity that's killing your bandwidth. The Gradient Principle: Why most high-performers fail by trying to jump from "Level 5" to "Level 1" and end up with a total nervous system crash. Natural Law over Force: How to use Septimics as a diagnostic tool to eliminate friction in your deals, your marriage, and your own mind. The Winner's Paradox: Distinguishing between the hollow pursuit of status and the resonant clarity of true conquest.   The deal isn't closed by force; it's closed by clarity. If you're ready to stop the internal static and start operating with bio-electric precision, pay attention. Jim is handing you the blueprints to the human machine. Shift the Thinking Behind the Tactic

Listen close. You're currently vibrating at a frequency that has served you well, but it has reached its limit. You've optimized the system, but you haven't changed the system. You're hitting the glass like a fly in a boardroom, thinking that more effort—more "grind"—is the way through. It isn't. That's just friction. And friction is a heat loss you can no longer afford. The core of the issue isn't your activity log or your CRM hygiene. It's your internal architecture. We're talking about the difference between polishing a machine and upgrading the physics it runs on. Here is the reality of the shift from a veteran's perspective: The Permission Trap: Most high-performers are actually high-level order takers. You think you're being consultative, but your nervous system is stuck in "permission-seeking" mode. This creates a subtle static that clients feel. When you shift from asking questions to making assertions—using a "Straw Man" framework—you regulate the room. You take the cognitive load off the client and place it on the paper. That's leverage. First-Order vs. Second-Order Change: First-order change is tactical. It's doing more discovery, refining the deck, or "working harder." It's an optimization of the status quo. Second-order change is systemic. It's a quantum leap. It's changing the thinking behind the tactic. It's moving from "doing sales" to "being the solution." The Cognitive Load Tax: Your clients are drowning in data and starving for clarity. When you show up asking them to do the heavy lifting of "figuring it out," you are adding to their dysregulation. By doing 80% of the thinking for them, you create resonance. You become the "eye of the storm" in their chaotic fiscal year. Identity Fluidity: The biggest barrier to your next $100k or $1M isn't a lack of skill; it's an attachment to who you were when you were successful last year. To triple the outcome, you have to let go of the "Engineer" or the "Consultant" identity. You have to be willing to feel "uncomfortable as hell" while your system recalibrates to a higher bandwidth. The bottom line is this: You don't need more bandwidth; you need a more coherent signal. You are currently efforting against the window because it's what you know. But the exit isn't through the glass—it's through the shift in your internal state. Stop trying to "crush" the market and start regulating your approach. The "Human Physics" takeaway: Momentum doesn't come from force. It comes from the removal of resistance. When you lead with assertion and lower the client's cognitive load, the friction vanishes. That's where the leap happens. Are you ready to stop beating your wings and actually fly?   Resources & Frameworks Mentioned: Notable People: Price Pritchett, Gary Halbert, Brandon G. Handley. Brands/Organizations: Cisco, Fortune 500. The deal isn't closed by force; it's closed by clarity. Most of you are white-knuckling the steering wheel of your career, praying the upholstery doesn't rip before you hit your Q4 numbers. You're treating your discovery calls like a tactical extraction and your nervous system like a rented mule. It's high-friction, low-resonance, and frankly, it's a waste of your biological bandwidth. We sat down with Kevin Hubschmann, the founder of Laugh Dot Events, to discuss why your "professional" persona is actually a bottleneck for your ROI. Kevin transitioned from selling enterprise SaaS to what he calls "LaaS" (Laughter as a Service). But this isn't about telling jokes in the breakroom. This is about Human Physics. It's about using the mechanics of improv to regulate your state, navigate high-stakes environments, and stop being a "JV" version of yourself. When you operate with less internal friction, the market responds. Key Insights for the Coherent Leader: "F*** Your Good Idea": In improv and enterprise sales, your attachment to your own "brilliant" next line is a parasite. It eats your capacity to listen. Kevin highlights that true leverage comes from abandoning your script to meet the resonance of the room. Stop interrupting the flow to deliver a pitch the client didn't ask for. The Identity Tax: Most professionals suffer from a split-personality deficit—a "9-to-5" robot and a "5-to-9" human. This internal dissonance is a massive energy leak. Kevin's "unlock" happened when a mentor gave him permission to stop being a "Salesman" and start being himself. Authenticity isn't a soft skill; it's a regulation strategy. The Corporate Simulation: We all use the same twenty buzzwords—"circle back," "synergy," "alignment"—to mask the fact that we're stressed. Acknowledging the absurdity of the corporate vernacular reduces the collective pressure in the room. Laughter is the fastest way to reset a dysregulated team and restore cognitive bandwidth. Strategic Empathy as Leverage: Enterprise deals aren't won by "crushing" the opposition. They are won by making your champion a rockstar. Kevin's approach focuses on finding the right budget—shifting from a "tactical" spend to a "strategic" investment—by reading the human physics of the organization. The Shift: Stop trying to override your biology with more caffeine and louder presentations. Regulation is the new competitive advantage. Kevin's work proves that when you lean into levity and presence, you aren't just "having fun"—you are increasing your capacity to handle complexity. You are becoming the eye of the storm. If your team is currently vibrating at a frequency of pure anxiety, it's time to recalibrate. Operate with less friction. The results will follow the resonance. If your team is vibrating with unnecessary friction, Kevin is the eye of the storm you need. Get your offsite sorted before the wheels fall off. Nick didn't just stumble into sobriety; he tried to systematically debunk the 12 Steps like a jaded investigative reporter, only to accidentally save his own life in the process. In this deep dive, you're going to learn exactly how to stop robbing yourself of your own happiness and start making moves that actually matter. We're breaking down:   The "Terrible Twos" of Sobriety: Why putting down the bottle is only 10% of the battle, and how to survive the ego-shattering reality of the other 90%. The Art of the Spontaneous Empire: How Nick went from a "maybe" conversation in a car to owning a sober living facility in less time than it takes most people to pick a Netflix movie. Identity Theft: Why you need to murder your old self to make room for the person who actually gets things done. The Blueprint of Belief: How surrounding yourself with the right "quirky" winners (like Brandon Novak) acts as a cheat code for your own success.   The promise is simple: By the time you finish this episode, you'll realize that "luck" is just what happens when you finally stop being an asshole to your future self. The deal isn't closed by force; it's closed by clarity. In the high-stakes environment of global enterprise, we are trained to monitor external metrics: ROI, market volatility, and competitive leverage. However, most leaders are operating with significant internal friction, drowning out the very signals they need to navigate complex terrain. Michael McAdams, author of An Angel Told Me So, joins the show to reframe our understanding of guidance and high-performance coherence. This episode is a masterclass in expanding your internal bandwidth to receive the strategic intelligence already available to you. Regulation is the new competitive advantage. Most professionals are "white-knuckling" their way through the day, unaware that their own internal noise—a chaotic "mini solar system" of thought—is blocking the frequency of the "Spirit Teachers" and advisors that exist adjacent to our physical plane. Michael demonstrates that when we quiet the nervous system, we move from a state of force to a state of flow, allowing us to operate with less friction and more resonance. Key takeaways from this session include: The Physics of Filtering: How to use specific affirmations as a biological "aura of protection" to ensure only high-vibrational, positive signals reach your mind. Navigating the Veil: Understanding that we are not the sole property of ourselves and that our spirit guides are invested in our recognition of their existence. The Graduation Perspective: Reframing "success" and "death" through the lens of continuity and evaluation rather than finality or punishment. Psychometry and Sensory Intelligence: The mechanics of tapping into objects and environments to read the energetic resonance of a situation. Stop trying to override the system with sheer willpower. Learn to regulate, listen, and access the "Spirit of the Deal" through the quiet power of human physics. Honest Overview Let's cut the small talk and get straight to the marrow. Brandon Handley isn't just wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving; he's handing you the blueprint to your own evolution. We're sitting here discussing the Hero's Journey—not because we're writing a screenplay, but because it is the undeniable architecture of high-stakes sales, addiction recovery, and relentless personal growth. You think you're just hitting a wall in your business? You think that burnout is random? It's not. It's a pattern. Campbell identified it, Hollywood monetized it, but you? You have to survive it to cash in. Handley breaks down the 12 steps, proving that whether you're white-knuckling a steering wheel outside a liquor store or waiting for legal to sign a massive contract, the psychological arc is exactly the same. Here is the gritty truth about where you are and where you're going: The Call and The Refusal: It starts with a whisper or a meltdown. You know the current routine—the "Ordinary World"—is dead. But then comes the fear. The Imposter Syndrome. The "who am I to lead this?" That doubt isn't a stop sign; it's the entry fee. The Point of No Return: You meet the mentor (maybe it's a person, maybe it's a program), and you cross the threshold. You surrender the need for total control. You stop waiting for permission to lead and you step into the unknown. The Ordeal in the Cave: This is the part nobody puts on Instagram. You face the "Inmost Cave." The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek. In sales, this is confronting your insecurity. In recovery, it's sitting with the emotions you used to numb. This is where the old identity dies so the new one can breathe. The Resurrection & Return: You don't just come back; you come back changed. You return with the "elixir"—the wisdom to mentor others, to lead teams with empathy, and to win because of who you are, not who you're pretending to be. The Edge: Hacking the Identity Handley isn't just talking theory; he's engineering the outcome. He's using AI to compose music that reinforces the new identity and breathwork to embody the journey physically. Why? Because imprinting must happen before expression. You have to see it and feel it internally before it shows up in your bank account. The Stakes This is about Superhuman Selling. The market doesn't need another script robot. It needs you—the grounded, aligned, gritty version of you. The version that stopped asking, "Am I enough?" and started playing the game on a mythic level. Stop trying to be "Sales Guy." Be the hero of your own damn story. If you're ready to win from your true identity, it's time to cross the threshold

Introduction This week on Spirit of the Deal, we're diving deep with Laura Dionisio, a powerhouse coach who helps high achievers break free from "soul-sucking" success. Ever feel like you're climbing the ladder only to realize it's leaning against the wrong wall? Laura's been there, and she's here to guide you through a career pivot that feels not just successful, but genuinely *good*. We're talking about: The "speed dating" of our intro: Get ready for rapid-fire insights into what makes Laura tick. Alchemizing stubbornness: Discover how a shadow trait became her superpower in sales and life. The ultimate sales question: Learn how Laura flips the script to get clients to ask themselves the *real* question. From aerospace to alignment: Laura shares the courageous leap she took from a stable corporate career to building her dream business, Lead Intact. Embodying your future self: We explore the neuroscience and mindset shifts required to truly step into the identity you desire. The "cha-cha" childhood and its impact: How a nomadic upbringing shaped Laura's global perspective and innate resilience. The spirit of the deal, redefined: Laura breaks down her "Why, What, How" framework and how it applies to every exchange. If you're ready to ditch the burnout, reclaim your career, and build a life with purpose and passion, this episode is your blueprint. Get ready to be inspired, challenged, and aligned. Honest Overview Laura Dionisio brings a powerful perspective on career transitions, rooted in her own journey from eighteen years in corporate engineering to becoming a purposeful career coach. The core insight is that true success isn't about climbing a ladder, but about aligning your career with what actually feels good and brings you joy. She emphasizes ditching the "shiny but soul-sucking" versions of success that society often pushes. The emotional stakes here are high. For so many high achievers, there's a gnawing feeling of misalignment, a sense of "is this all there is?" Laura experienced this herself, leading to a period of "reverse bedtime procrastination" and a profound sense of being out of sync with her own needs. Her decision to leave a long, established corporate career for her own business, Lead Intact, was a massive leap of faith. She highlights the relief and liberation that came with finally aligning her actions with her inner truth. Key takeaways from the conversation include: The Power of Embodiment: Laura, like many in the "Spirit of the Deal" community, understands that visualizing success isn't enough; you have to embody your future self. This means not just seeing it, but feeling it and acting from that place. Stubbornness as a Strength: She candidly shares her "shadow trait" of stubbornness, which she's powerfully alchemized into determination. When faced with doubt, her stubbornness kicks in, pushing her forward, often against the odds. "Are You Worth It?": The boldest sales conversation takeaway is the question, "The program's worth it, are you worth it?" This flips the script, forcing potential clients to confront their own self-worth and readiness to invest in themselves. Cultural Resilience and Adaptability: Her "cha-cha childhood," moving between the Philippines and the US multiple times, built incredible resilience and an open-mindedness to different ways of being. This has translated into her coaching, allowing her to be deeply understanding of diverse perspectives. The "Why" and "What" of the Deal: Laura's framework for "Spirit of the Deal" centers on understanding the intention behind any exchange – the "why" (your core motivation) and the "what" (your desired outcome), as opposed to just the "how" (the transaction itself). Leaving the Spreadsheet Behind: Her significant career pivot was the first time she didn't create a spreadsheet. This signifies a move from purely logical, data-driven decisions to trusting her intuition and inner knowing. The conversation powerfully illustrates how embracing your authentic identity, even when it means defying expectations and societal norms, leads to a more energized, aligned, and ultimately, more successful life and career. It's about doing the brave work of excavating your own truth and then building your life from that foundation.

Connect with Joseph: https://www.onlinetrainingforentrepreneurs.com/ Honest Overview This conversation was a deep dive into embracing life and entrepreneurship through the lens of flow, personal growth, and unconventional wisdom. Joseph Rodrigues and Brandon Handley explored how to dissolve limiting beliefs and conditions to unlock true potential, all while keeping it fun and actionable. Central insights revolved around the idea that true success isn't about grinding harder, but about working smarter and more harmoniously. Joseph highlighted the transformative power of his "flow-based" approach to entrepreneurship, emphasizing that opportunities and solutions emerge naturally when we release resistance and conditioning. Key Takeaways: Unlearning the Grind: The conversation kicked off with a stark reminder that "working hard" is often the first thing we need to unlearn about success. True power comes from alignment, not brute force. The Power of "I Am Not": Joseph's active reprogramming centers on dissolving the core belief of "I am not," which he sees as the root of many other limiting conditions. Mind Mapping as a Superpower: Joseph's signature style of using mind maps for content creation was celebrated. It's not just a tool, but a way to visualize connections and enhance comprehension, akin to rearranging neurological structures for optimal learning. Embracing the Rabbit Hole: From "Think and Grow Rich" to ancient alchemy, the discussion traced a fascinating intellectual journey, showing how foundational texts and concepts can lead to unexpected, profound insights. "Acting in a Certain Way" as Flow: This isn't about forcing actions, but about responding naturally and congruently when conditions dissolve. It's about moving with certainty, not attachment to outcomes. The Spiritual Game: The realization that personal development is inherently spiritual dawned as Joseph noticed happiness and peace arising without external validation. Collaborative Energy: A perfect example of the "spirit of the deal" was the story of turning a potential competitive situation into a collaborative win-win, highlighting how energy and a focus on synergy create powerful outcomes. The "School Community": Joseph's new venture is a space to discuss entrepreneurship, mindsets, and spiritual aspects in a flow-based, supportive environment, opening the doors for others to find their own natural path. The emotional stakes were high, as both hosts and guest shared authentic experiences of overcoming struggle, questioning conventional wisdom, and ultimately finding a more joyful and effective way to navigate life and business. Introduction This week on The Spirit of the Deal, we're diving deep into the transformative power of identity shifts and embracing the unknown with the incredible Lynette Ida. If you've ever felt the pull to reinvent yourself, questioned your path, or struggled with the idea of "enough," this episode is your blueprint. We'll explore: How Lynette, a former international public health expert, pivoted from saving the world to saving herself after a life-altering health crisis. The profound shift in defining prosperity – moving beyond monetary gain to embracing health, presence, and a slow, intentional life. The challenging, yet ultimately liberating, journey of embracing her calling as a traditional healer, even when it wasn't the path she initially chose. The neuroscience behind accepting what is, and why fighting your calling is a losing battle. How communities like the Awakened Leadership community provide the anchor and acceptance needed to navigate massive personal evolution. Get ready to be inspired by Lynette's raw honesty and powerful insights. She's proof that the most profound deals are the ones we strike with ourselves. Honest Overview This conversation with Lynette Ida dives deep into the radical pivot happening in her life, moving from a high-powered career in global health to a profound focus on self, spirituality, and ancestral calling. The stakes are high – it's about redefining prosperity, embracing a new identity, and navigating the often-uncomfortable process of shedding old skins. The emotional core lies in the courage required to let go of external validation and the pursuit of worldly success to embrace a more authentic, albeit challenging, path. The Evolution of Prosperity: Lynette's definition of prosperity has dramatically shifted. What once meant career achievements and monetary gain has transformed into the richness of health (mental, physical, and physiological), living in a desired environment, and embracing a slower, more intentional pace of life. Identity as a Fluid Construct: The conversation highlights a pivotal identity shift. Lynette's drive to be "international" and "worldly" in her 30s, focused on saving others, has given way to an intense inward focus on self-preservation and healing, particularly after facing a life-threatening health crisis. This marks a powerful transition from external contribution to internal alignment. The "Spirit of the Deal" Redefined: For Lynette, the "Spirit of the Deal" is about the internal negotiation between "wanting" and "being enough." It's about placing her spiritual attention and authenticity on this internal alignment, looking inward rather than externally for fulfillment. This deal, she admits, is "not an easy deal to strike." The Unforeseen Calling: A significant part of Lynette's current journey involves embracing her role as a traditional healer, a path she inherited and initially resisted. This isn't a chosen career but a calling that, when ignored, led to personal upheaval. The emotional weight here is palpable; it's about surrendering to a lineage and a destiny that demands authenticity and presence. Suffering as a Catalyst for Growth: Lynette challenges the notion of avoiding suffering. She posits that a certain type of "frivolous" suffering—like fighting against societal expectations or the ego's need for external validation—is essential for growth. This is the suffering she's currently navigating as she sheds her old persona and embraces a more spiritual existence. The PhD and the Traditional Path: Interestingly, Lynette is pursuing a PhD in intellectual property law concerning biotechnological advancements in South Africa. This intellectual pursuit runs parallel to her deeply spiritual work as a traditional healer and her new role as a death doula, showcasing a multifaceted approach to life and contribution. The Power of Community: The conversation underscores the vital role of community, particularly through the Awakened Leadership community. This space offers solace, acceptance, and the chance to be truly oneself without qualification. It's a reminder that while old connections may fade, new ones can provide the support needed to navigate profound transitions. Embracing the "Death Midwife" Role: Lynette's training as a death doula is a significant revelation. This role extends beyond physical death to encompass the death of old identities, careers, and life stages. It's about holding space for profound transitions and supporting others through their own "liminal spaces," infused with her traditional healing wisdom. The central insight is that true alignment and a redefined sense of prosperity often emerge from radical acceptance of one's authentic path, even when that path is challenging and deviates significantly from societal norms. The emotional stakes are deeply personal: facing down the ego, honoring ancestral calls, and finding peace in the surrender to what is.

Today, we're pulling back the curtain on a live session from our Men's Mastermind with Superhuman Selling, showcasing the kind of identity work that can unlock your next level. Because here's the hard truth: you'll never outgrow the identity you're currently operating from. Until that shifts, you're destined to hit the same ceiling, again and again. What You're Going to Hear Today: The Identity Ceiling: Understanding Your Mental Resistance Line Defining your comfort zone, self-worth thermostat, or mental resistance line. How this line causes results to snap back after growth. The stock market analogy: recognizing resistance and bounces. Why this isn't Wall Street, but your own income, self-worth, and identity. The consequences of not breaking through and resetting your ceiling. Identifying Your Personal Market Limit Self-assessment: What specific line are you bumping into? Common ceilings: income numbers, deal sizes, client types. The inner world as a "market of self-worth." How new goals test your market and trigger nervous system responses. The danger of an unstable nervous system in the face of abundance and responsibility. Self-sabotage as a retreat to safety when the market crashes. The Power of Identity Work: The Highest Leverage Move How shifting self-worth and expanding identity resets your internal market. Making the impossible your new baseline. The concept of a "never-dipping" self-worth market and its implications. Real-world community examples: presidents' club, opening new businesses. The Energy of Winning: How Identity Rubs Off The impact of simply being in the energy of high performers. How sitting in rooms of ceiling-breakers tests your own limitations. The importance of surrounding yourself with challenging peers. The compounding energy within a community setting. Why you can't "think" your way into a new identity alone. Beyond Affirmations: Embodiment and Nervous System Reset The limitation of thinking, visualization, and affirmations alone. The necessity of your nervous system believing and your body feeling safe. The role of breathwork in creating a sense of safety. How panic in the face of abundance leads to loss. The physiological response to landing big deals: relaxation vs. tightening. The nervous system's signal of not feeling safe at a new level. Practicing Embodiment: Systems for Stability Moving from "I can't" to "I hold this. I belong here. I can do this." Beyond goofy affirmations: the series of embodiments. A practical exercise: imagining landing your biggest deal and noticing your response. Consciously slowing your breath and relaxing your shoulders. Practicing being at home in your new reality until it feels normal. Embodying belonging, deserving, and inherent value without needing to prove it. Breaking the cycle of constantly proving your worth. Why Identity Outlasts Tactics: The Long Game of Growth Tactics and tech are fleeting; identity is compounding. The obsolescence of playbooks versus the enduring power of identity. Walking into any room, industry, or market with a shifted identity. Spirit of the Deal and Superhuman Selling: Identity as the core, not an add-on. Why tactics only work when your identity supports them. Your Next Steps: Identify, Decide, Embody, Connect Actionable takeaways from the episode. Identify your line: What ceiling are you hitting? Make a decision: Commit to upgrading your identity. Decide who you are beyond that line. Practice embodiment daily: Train your nervous system to feel safe. The power of breathwork, visualizations, and other practices. Don't do it alone: The advantage of community and peer support. Why going further with a group is crucial for growth. The purpose of communities like Superhuman Selling and masterminds. Resetting your self-worth market and expanding your identity. Invitation to join and do the work. The ultimate goal: embodying the identity that naturally attracts results.

What's up, Spirit of the Deal listeners? This week, we're diving deep into a deal most of us overlook – the deal we make with grace. I recently asked the I Ching – that ancient book of wisdom – how to invite more grace into my life. The answer? It wasn't about grinding harder, but about possession in great measure and, surprisingly, decrease. It's a paradox: how to hold abundance and let go simultaneously. We'll unpack this through the lens of the I Ching's hexagrams, those symbolic lines representing solid and broken paths. My reading revealed "Possession in Great Measure," but with changing lines leading to "Decrease." This isn't just ancient philosophy – it's a direct reflection of how we operate in sales, leadership, and even our personal lives. Possession in Great Measure: We all have abundance – skills, connections, wisdom. The mistake is hoarding it. Grace shows up when we see abundance as a responsibility, not a trophy. The Changing Lines: Line 3 warns against arrogance; Line 4 reveals that aligning with purpose multiplies abundance. In sales terms: Don't just sell to sell; sell to serve. Decrease: The path to grace isn't about adding more to your plate, but cutting away the excess. This creates space for the real deal – the connection between you and grace itself. We'll explore how abundance can feel like pressure, not grace. Pruning, letting go of unnecessary deals and commitments – that's how we make room for true abundance. And remember: grace isn't earned; it's welcomed, invited. It's about reaching out and saying, "I'm open to your strength." This episode is packed with practical takeaways, ancient wisdom, and a modern spiritual edge. Stick around; it's gonna be a good one.

The Union of Heart and Mind (Kokoro)     *   An ancient principle from other cultures.     *   Concept introduced: Union of heart and mind.     *   Historical influences: Alan Watts and the concept of "mushin."     *   The Japanese term: "Kokoro" (written with the character for heart).     *   Definition of Kokoro: The union of heart and mind, working as one, not in competition.     *   Western civilization's separation of heart and mind:         *   The head as the CEO.         *   The heart ignored or relegated to a passive role.         *   Consequences: Leaps don't stick, trying to live breakthroughs in the mind while ignoring the body and emotions. 5. Scientific Basis for Heart-Mind Connection     *   The heart's intelligence: Not just a blood pump.     *   Heart's neural network: Approximately 40,000 neurons.     *   Information flow: Heart sends more information to the brain than vice-versa.     *   Pre-cognitive reactions: The heart reacts milliseconds before conscious thought.     *   Research backing: Harvard, University of California, and others.     *   Implication: The body "feels" the terrain before the brain maps it.     *   Ignoring the heart/intuition leads to reverting to the old baseline.     *   Tuning into the heart and mind together makes the new terrain familiar. 6. Alignment and States of Being     *   The principle of "alignment first, action second."     *   Transition from "contraction" to "expansion."     *   Defining "contraction":         *   Physical sensations: Chest caving in, shallow breath, racing mind, heaviness.         *   Psychological association: The old baseline, fear of the unknown.     *   Defining "expansion":         *   Physical sensations: Open chest, deep diaphragm breathing, relaxed shoulders, clear mind.         *   Psychological association: The new terrain, confidence in the new identity.     *   Leading with expansion allows "doing" to flow naturally. 7. Practical Exercise: Locking in the Leap     *   Purpose: To ground the leap in the present moment.     *   Step 1: Identify Contraction.         *   Think of things put off since the leap.         *   Feel bodily sensations of tightening (contraction).         *   Recognize this as the "old you" trying to keep you "safe."     *   Step 2: Imagine Expansion.         *   Visualize the desired outcome of the task being done.         *   Notice bodily sensations of opening and softening (expansion).         *   Recognize this as the leap being grounded.     *   Step 3: Future Action Protocol.         *   Do not act from contraction.         *   Pause, find expansion.         *   Then, move forward. 8. Reinforcing and Stabilizing the Leap     *   Keeping the leap "unshakable."     *   Training the mind to spot evidence of the leap.     *   Recognizing new responses vs. reactions.     *   "Proving the leap in real time" (Price Pritchett's concept).     *   Looking for proof while living it, not waiting for external validation.     *   Past leaps may have been unrecognized.     *   Opportunities appearing in unexpected ways ("ways that you know not of," referencing biblical phrasing).     *   "Trusting the unknown" (Price Pritchett's concept).     *   Recording and acknowledging this evidence in real time. 9. Anchoring the New Frequency (Heart-Mind Lock-In)     *   A guided breathing exercise.     *   Technique: Slow, easy breaths through the nose, belly expansion, shoulder softening.     *   Focus: Calling up the feeling of already living the leap and expansion.     *   Anchoring the feeling through bodily checks (shoulders, neck).     *   Establishing the new "home frequency" as living from expansion. 10. Making Choices for Stability     *   Every choice either stabilizes the leap or slides back to the baseline.     *   Key check-ins:         *   Feeling state: Contraction or expansion?         *   Heart and mind connection: Working together or split?     *   The power of choice: Choosing expansion, choosing Kokoro, choosing to live in the new state. 11. Invitation to Further Support and Community     *   Offering help with grounding leaps, experiencing leaps, and identifying leaps.     *   Mention of the "Superhuman Selling" mastermind.     *   Format: Bi-weekly, within groups and communities.     *   Benefits: Support from others and the opportunity to support them.     *   Concept: "A whole rising tide lifts all ships."     *   Call to action: Reach out and check it out.     *   Ultimate goal: Making leaps "sticky" and establishing them as the new baseline/reality.

The Aftermath of Live Events and the Importance of Integration   The shift that occurs at live events (e.g., Superhuman Selling Live Event in Portland). Recognizing the feeling of an "inner snap" or "click" after an event. The distinction between exciting breakthroughs and the essential nature of integration for lasting power. The goal of grounding the leap and locking in a "new normal" of ease, wealth, and power. The risk of losing momentum, collapsing frequency, or talking oneself back into smallness.   Core Concepts: Identity, ROI, and Faith   The focus on identity shifts and their impact. The concept of Return on Investment (ROI) in personal growth and business. The role of faith, particularly faith in oneself.   The Parable of Talents as a Metaphor for Personal Gifts   Introduction to the Parable of Talents as a framework for discussion. The parable's interpretation as representing gifts, capacity, and vision. The contrast between investing and multiplying talents versus burying them. The master's expectation of growth and utilization of what is given. Applying the parable to personal calling and potential, and one's unique frequency.   Overcoming Resistance and Recalibrating to Higher Frequencies   The concept of an "activation" experienced at events. The idea of speaking without scripting and selling from pure alignment as a "home frequency." The "crabs in a bucket" analogy (specifically mentioning Kukui crabs and Robert Kiyosaki's book) to illustrate external resistance. The nervous system's tendency to pull individuals back into old patterns, urgency, and metrics of worth. The common fumble point: not anchoring the "upgrade." Experiencing feelings of being "off," slow, or uncertain after growth periods. Defining this as "recalibration" rather than regression. The nervous system adjusting to a "new altitude" or higher consciousness. Embracing discomfort as a sign of moving beyond the known.   Brandon's Personal Journey of Holding Back Gifts   Brandon's realization of holding back personal gifts, not due to disbelief, but fear of being "too much." The self-imposed limitations of protecting others from their full voice or light. The subtle impact of holding back, slowing down progress in unproductive ways. The connection between hesitation and the obstruction of overflow.   The Wisdom of "Share the Scar, Not the Wound"   Introduction of the adage: "Share the scar, not the wound." Brandon's initial misunderstanding and later realization of its meaning. The underlying reason for not sharing wounds or scars: fear of doubt from others regarding current strength. The realization that people need the "true version" of oneself, not a perfectly polished one. The importance of showing healing and the learned path, rather than a lack of past struggle. The role of integration in stabilizing transformation for serving from it, not bleeding from it.   Connecting Personal Growth to Tangible Results and ROI   The dual desire for the "woo" (spiritual or mindset work) and tangible results. The impact of meditation and nervous system regulation on decision-making, retention, and creativity (citing Harvard and Stanford research). Higher EQ, closing rates, greater retention, and bigger deals as outcomes. The significant advantage (e.g., 20%+) that can be gained. Operating from identity versus operating from performance. The benefits of identity-based operation: faster selling, smoother scaling, attracting loyal clients. The work is about functioning better, not just feeling better, without burnout.   Community Support and Ongoing Integration   Mention of resources within the "Superhuman Selling community" (e.g., guided recalibration, audio meditations). The ongoing process of integration and achieving "Overflow" as a new normal. Brandon's community coaching and mastermind discussions on "grounding the leap" and "not collapsing frequency." The importance of a "container" or additional space for integration after events. The consequence of lacking such support: loss of momentum and feeling drudgery. A call to action to create such support if not already available.   Final Call to Action: Investing Talents and Stopping the Leak   A direct question to the audience: are they investing their talents or burying them? The need to stop hiding behind mastered strategies and address where energy is being leaked. Identifying areas of shrinking from what is rightfully theirs. Recognizing the pre-existence of calls and tools. An invitation to reach out if ready to stop burying talents and to discuss the next steps for their gifts. The process of grounding the leap and making overflow the new normal. Shifting from chasing sales to becoming a "signal voice."

    1. Introduction to the Theme: Superhuman Selling Collaboration with Elyse Archer: The focus on superhuman selling and celebrating personal/professional evolution. Not everyone celebrates your progress, and that's a sign you're on the right track. 2. Redefining Winning in Sales and Business Moving beyond tactical changes to deeper transformation (“changing your source code”). Three pillars of true winning: Alignment, energy, and identity. 3. What “Superhuman” Really Means Clearing misconceptions: It's not about superpowers. Referencing pop culture (Superman old and newfE movies) as a light-hearted segue. Emphasis on authenticity: Shedding the mask, stopping the act, and remembering your true self. 4. The Sales Shift: From Forcing to Attracting Moving away from scripts, tricks, and hacks. Selling becomes about inner frequency, presence, and fully believing in yourself. Transition from chasing prospects to attracting them. 5. The Crucial Difference: Identity vs. Mindset Mindset is not the main lens—identity is. If you're still hustling or trying to be liked, you “leak energy” and repel prospects. The exhaustion of wearing a false persona. 6. Personal Growth Analogy: The Lobster Story Lobster's uncomfortable shell as a metaphor for outgrowing your former identity. The necessity (and discomfort) of shedding what no longer fits to allow for new growth. 7. The Identity Upgrade and Its Effects Upgrading identity causes a sudden, noticeable shift (“snap into place”), not just incremental change. Importance of alignment: Doing the necessary work from a genuine place rather than effortful striving. Referencing Yoda and The Matrix: Moving from trying to simply doing—making selling second nature. 8. The Challenges of Transformation Acknowledgment that the journey isn't easy or always positive. Your nervous system and old connections may resist your change. Social consequences: Some friends may distance themselves or subtly wish for your failure. 9. Emotional Realities of Growth The temptation to shrink back to your former self for comfort and acceptance. Powerful encouragement to resist this temptation (“Don't you dare”). The discomfort of growth as proof of real progress (“receipt that you're doing it right”). 10. The New Paradigm: Becoming the Win Shifting from chasing external wins to embodying the win internally. Your state of being (sale), presence (pitch), and alignment (close) are key to sustainable success. Letting go of “faking it,” and selling from wholeness rather than lack. 11. Support and Next Steps Recognizing and validating listeners who are navigating their own shifts. Teaser for something new and exciting coming soon in partnership with Elise Archer. On this episode of Spiritual Dope, host Brandon Handley is joined by guest Nicole Kerr, who shares her incredible near-death experiences and the profound spiritual insights she gained from them. Nicole begins by recounting the emergency surgery she underwent after a car crash, which led to multiple near-death experiences due to fluid in her lungs. She vividly describes feeling suffocated and believing her oxygen was being taken away. Thankfully, a diuretic was administered as a last resort, saving her from suffocating to death. Nicole woke up with a ventilator after one of the surgeries, deeply realizing that there is no pain at the moment of death. Nicole shares her belief in a dimension where angels and deceased loved ones exist on the other side. She encourages listeners to ask for help from these angels and develop a relationship with them. As a self-proclaimed recovering people pleaser, Nicole delves into the fear-based roots of people pleasing and how it was exacerbated by her time at the Air Force Academy, where she faced constant hazing and harassment. Nicole opens up about a traumatic car accident where she was pronounced dead at the scene but revived, leading to her struggle with an eating disorder and self-blame. She speaks about her strained relationship with her father, who blamed her for the accident and has not forgiven her. However, Nicole also shares a powerful incident where an angel saved her after another car accident, referring to the angel as "Casper the Ghost." In her soul form, she overheard a conversation between angels, who emphasized the importance of asking for help and promised that help would come. Describing her near-death experience, Nicole explains being engulfed in a white light that exuded love, comfort, beauty, and unconditional love, struggling to find words to fully convey the experience. She advises listeners to find what works for them, whether it's prayer, talking to their guardian angel, or journaling to reflect and connect with their soul. Nicole emphasizes the need to expand emotional literacy and express emotions instead of suppressing them. Nicole's personal experience of abuse at the United States Air Force Academy deeply influenced her focus on the spiritual dimension of health and her desire to change society's negative perception of death. She believes that death is often associated with doom, gloom, and negativity, and urges listeners to address their fear of death, as preparation is essential. Furthermore, Nicole highlights the importance of both spiritual and physical preparation for death and mentions how belief systems shape our relationship with death. She shares a poignant story about a six-year-old girl who had a negative concept of God due to fear of hell, underscoring the need to examine and change beliefs that no longer serve us. The episode touches on the speaker's reunion with a former roommate after 39 years, the blame they both carry surrounding the crash, and the importance of communication and rebuilding relationships. Nicole also details her struggles with soul loss after the crash and the subsequent physical and emotional issues she faced, including compulsive behaviors and chronic health conditions. She advocates for soul retrieval as a healing tool, especially for veterans struggling with soul loss, as it is often absent from their treatment. With her profound near-death experiences and spiritual insights, Nicole Kerr delivers a captivating episode full of hope, healing, and a deep understanding of the spiritual dimensions of life and death. Unveiling the Power of Oneness: Stuart Adam Discusses Plant Medicine and Personal Transformation Hosted by Brandon Handley, featuring guest Stuart Adam In this episode of Spiritual Dope, Brandon Handley interviews Stuart Adam, an explorer of plant medicine and spirituality for 15 years. They delve into the importance of finding spiritual harmony in a chaotic world. Stuart emphasizes the significance of intuition, oneness, and understanding the duality of the shadow and the light. He opens up about his personal journey, including struggles with drug addiction and a lack of understanding in how to treat women properly. Stuart has since found solace in his engagement to a supportive partner who has helped him confront his own darkness. The key takeaway is the necessity of working through personal darkness to ultimately discover the light. Discovering Oneness through Plant Medicine Stuart's experiences with plant medicine have revealed the interconnectedness of his shadow and light aspects. He passionately embraces the concept of oneness, emphasizing that we are all connected and part of a divine existence. Verbal explanations fall short; true understanding comes through experiencing this profound connection. Stuart's spiritual practices involve working with powerful plants like ayahuasca, fire, and water, building relationships based on gratitude and respect. He engages in daily prayer, receiving guidance from these sacred entities. The focus is on being present and transcending mental obstacles, creating a meditative and experiential practice. Prayer: Balancing Masculine and Feminine Energies The conversation explores prayer as a blend of masculine and feminine energies. The masculine aspect involves taking action, asking, and doing, while the feminine aspect centers around receiving, being present, and surrendering without striving for specific outcomes. Trust and letting go are essential elements. Stuart acknowledges the challenges faced by white males in the spiritual realm, but encourages rising above negativity. Surrender and the power of feminine energy, symbolized by yin, are further discussed. The conversation also touches on religion and Kabbalah, highlighting the pursuit of an individual spiritual path, navigating the ethereal realms, and surrendering to the infinite. Healing Ancestral Burdens and Finding Oneness The podcast acknowledges the speakers' Jewish lineage and their struggle to feel connected to it. They delve into the complexities of Kabbalah and how it has contributed to many Jews feeling disconnected from their bodies. He discovered the power of plant medicine after hitting rock bottom and receiving a life-changing email from a friend inviting him to experience Ayahuasca in Peru. Carlos Tanner's Transformation Carlos ventured to Peru and became a student of Don Juan, a healer who taught him about plant medicine. After four years of learning, recording, and documenting his experiences, Carlos realized that he could have learned faster with the right educational materials. This realization led him to start the Ayahuasca Foundation and create a retreat center to share his knowledge and help others learn about plant medicine safely and effectively. Founding the Ayahuasca Foundation Despite facing numerous challenges, such as living with Don Juan's large family and adapting to a different culture, Carlos persisted in his mission to share his knowledge. After meeting other shamans and finding a mentor in Don Enrique Lopez, Carlos finally established the Ayahuasca Foundation to teach others about plant medicine. Ayahuasca has become popular, but sustainable harvesting and respecting the sacred nature of the plant should be a priority. Troy and Brandon are talking about the power of breath extension in their lives, and how it makes them feel so connected to the big man upstairs. And let's be real, who doesn't want to feel connected to God? But here's the thing, folks, manifestation is just a fancy new age word for prayer. It's all the same damn thing. So if you're out there trying to manifest your dream life, just know that you're really just praying for it. It's mind-blowing. So go ahead and check it out, and you'll be like, "f*ck yeah, this is some good shit."   Connect with Troy over at: https://troyhadeed.com/ - Troy: When we create space in our life to actually quiet in mind and be with the breath, that space transcends into our life. He says it's important for listeners to set time aside to be with themselves and their breath. Troy: For it to be loving and holistic, quality time and intimacy is essential. - The only thing that can tame your mind is your breath. We aren't often in relationship with the mind, so we're often a puppet in mind. If we can cultivate a relationship to mind, we can reprogram our conditioning. How do we make sure we're working from a place of love and not as complete robots? - How did you find yourself fulfilling your purpose? You've been doing this yoga practice for 15 years. How have you been able to find yourself as being successful? By following your passion, your bliss, et cetera. - When we talk about purpose, we think of a larger dream or a larger vision for our lives. But to make that dream and vision a reality, you have to be in your purpose in each and every moment. If you get overly obsessed with that larger dream, you're going to miss your purpose.

We learn to be aware of the impact our actions have on our family, as well as be willing to adjust our behavior if it's having an adverse effect.  He also learned from his own experience with Adderall to be aware of the impact of substances on his family.  Practical action items: be conscious of the impact of your actions on your family, be willing to adjust your behavior if needed, and be mindful of the impact of substances on your family. The takeaway from this podcast is that everyone, even famous people, has their own issues and struggles to face. We can't always live up to the standards set by others, and should instead set our own standards and live by our own code.
