Táto kniha poskytuje čitateľovi pravdivé informácie o našej civilizácii a presvedčivo popiera mýty o „temnom stredoveku".

Far from being purely rational, unbiased individuals in search of only the common good; they succumb to peer pressure, social desirability bias, laziness, cherry picking, and sensationalism. Why was it, that during the COVID-19 pandemic, states and countries with radically different policy approaches had similar outcomes regarding COVID deaths? Thomas E. Part 1 of 2. Nullification- How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century by Thomas E. Woods Jr. Citizens across the country are fed up with the politicians in Washington telling us how to live our lives and then sticking us with the bill. But what can we do? Actually, we can just say no. As New York Times best-selling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., explains, "nullification" allows states to reject unconstitutional federal laws. For many tea partiers nationwide, nullification is rapidly becoming the only way to stop an overreaching government drunk on power. From privacy to immigration to national health care, Woods shows how this growing and popular movement is sweeping across America and empowering states to take action against  socialist policies and big-government agenda. ©2010 Thomas E. In various skilled trades, the income of blacks relative to whites more than doubled between 1936 and 1959…   Affirmative action hiring pressures make it costly to have no minority employees, but continuing affirmative action pressures at the promotion and discharge phases also make it costly to have minority employees who do not work out well. The net effect is to increase the demand for highly qualified minority employees while decreasing the demand for less qualified minority employees or for those without a sufficient track record to reassure employers.”  - Thomas Sowell, Ph.D Civil Rights: Rhetoric or Reality? **Please read** Edward Andrew McHale, age 42, born in Phoenix, AZ, left this world too soon on January 16, 2022. Ed is survived by his wife, Christine McHale, and five children, Ruby, Declan, Mikey, Frances and Theo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence McHale and Madeleine McHale. The baby of six siblings, this father and legend is known to many as “Coach Ed.” He was a man who truly lived his life for others; for his family, his students and anyone he met. He knew everyone by name and no one who knew him could forget his contagious laugh or famous ‘dad jokes.' A man of great faith, he loved to walk and pray his rosary, meet with other dads to pray, and take his family to mass on Sunday. He loved to teach, swim, wrestle, hike, play volleyball, and play catch with his kids, and of course cheer on his Cardinals and Suns! He would always tell his wife that she made him a better man but truly it was he who made her better and his love for life and appreciating the small things and every moment made everyone around him better. May we learn from his example to count your blessings and love every moment, to soak up every hug with your children, to live life to the fullest even when everything around you tells you, you need more when right in front of you, you already have it all. He will truly be missed by many and will forever leave his print of love and laughter on this world. *Help his widow and five children here*: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-ed-mchales-family -------------------------------------- How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization by Thomas E. We'll look at where the League failed and succeeded, what became of it and what parallels exist with anti-imperialism today.  Are we running into the same problems over and over again? Just as empires have patterns they continually recreate, does anti-imperialism too?    Sources:   The True Flag, by Stephen Kinzer   Tom Woods Show Ep. 2054 Let Doctors Speak Freely   We Who Dared to Say No to War, by Murray Polner and Thomas E. https://youtu.be/LALiVLMtN2o ... while Ludwig von Mises was acknowledged as one of Europe's most eminent economists in the 1920s and 30s, the language barrier shut off any recognition of Mises in the Anglo-American world until the mid-1930s; then, just as his business cycle theory was beginning to achieve renown as an explanation for the Great Depression, Mises's overdue recognition was lost in the hoopla of the Keynesian Revolution. A refugee deprived of his academic or social base in Europe, Mises emigrated to the United States at the mercy of his new-found environment. But while, in the climate of the day, the leftist and socialist refugees from Europe were cultivated, feted, and given prestigious academic posts, a different fate was meted out to a man who embodied a methodological and political individualism that was anathema to American academia. Indeed, the fact that a man of Mises's eminence was not offered a single regular academic post and that he was never able to teach in a prestigious graduate department in this country is one of the most shameful blots on the none too illustrious history of American higher education. The fact that Mises himself was able to preserve his great energy, his remarkable productivity, and his unfailing gentleness and good humor in the face of this shabby treatment is simply one more tribute to the qualities of this remarkable man ... ... Ludwig von Mises's writings are the embodiment of a courageous and eminent man hewing to his discipline and to his vision, unheeding of shabby maltreatment. Murray N. Libertarians have always, and correctly, been strong on the great libertarian Ninth Amendment to the Constitution. Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century by Thomas E. Woods   Citizens across the country are fed up with the politicians in Washington telling us how to live our lives—and then sticking us with the bill. But what can we do? Actually, we can just say “no.” As New York Times bestselling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., explains, “nullification” allows states to reject unconstitutional federal laws. For many tea partiers nationwide, nullification is rapidly becoming the only way to stop an over-reaching government drunk on power. From privacy to national healthcare, Woods shows how this growing and popular movement is sweeping across America and empowering states to take action against Obama's socialist policies and big-government agenda. ----------------------------------------------------   HELP ACU SPREAD THE WORD!   Ways to subscribe to the American Conservative University Podcast Click here to subscribe via iTunes Click here to subscribe via RSS You can also subscribe via Stitcher FM Player Podcast Addict Tune-in Podcasts Look us up on Amazon Prime   If you like this episode head on over to iTunes and kindly leave us a rating, a review and subscribe! People find us through our good reviews.   FEEDBACK- You can ask your questions, make comments, submit ideas for shows and lots more. Purchase at your favorite book seller or audible.“The problem in America isn’t so much what people don’t know; the problem is what people think they know that just ain’t so.” —Thomas E. Woods   Most Americans trust that their history professors and high school teachers will give students honest and accurate information.  The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History makes it quite clear that liberal professors have misinformed our children for generations. Professor Thomas E. Woods, Jr. takes on the most controversial moments of American history and exposes how history books are merely a series of clichés drafted by academics who are heavily biased against God, democracy, patriotism, capitalism and most American family values.   Woods reveals the truth behind many of today's prominent myths.... MYTH: The First Amendment prohibits school prayer MYTH: The New Deal created great prosperity MYTH: What the Supreme Court says, goes From the real American “revolutionaries” to the reality of labor unions, The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History is all you need for the truth about America—objective and unvarnished.

When the Great Recession began, many people heard about banks being insanely overleveraged, capitalism "gone wrong," and the wealthy 1%. However, when the bailouts of several private companies started happening, there were whispers that certain firms may have anticipated these bailouts and therefore were more inclined to take risky actions. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two Government Sponsored Entities which previously played a small role in the mortgage market, suddenly became the most important players of the market in the run-up to 2007. Our guest for today is Thomas E. Woods, who is a senior fellow of the Mises Institue and host of The Tom Woods Show, which is one of the most popular libertarian and free-market shows on iTunes. Tom has a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard and his master's, and Ph.D. from Columbia University. Today we are going to discuss... What role, if any, the Fed played in the run-up to the Great Recession and the aftermath Whether we would've entered a 20-year depression had the Fed not stepped in after the Great Recession How Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's incentives are different from a typical bank Why the repealing of Glass-Steagall is an integral part of this conversation   Learn more about our guest: The Deregulation Boogeyman eBook  The Tom Woods Show Tom Woods Books

Woods book on Nullification (that’s also the title) and his book “The Politically Incorrect Guide to American history.” He also has a book, co-written with Kevin Gutzman titled “Who Killed the Constitution.” Another good book is Brion McClanahan’s book on Alexander Hamilton “How Alexander Hamilton Screwed Up America.” Again, Dr. McClanahan writes in a way that makes this book accessible to the general public without being dumbed down.

Jason Hartman interviews author, former Wall Street senior banker, and best-selling investigative journalist, William (Bill) D. Cohan on the events that led up to the current economic crisis. Bill explains the choices that the big firms, such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc, made regarding what type of institution they were going to be, the path of these firms that led up to the current crisis, and how they used the bailout money gifted to them. He said it was one big party on Wall Street, during which brokers were to bring in revenue using a lot of whacky products, until everything came crashing down. Huge bonuses were paid out from the revenue collected from unsuspecting clients. For more details, listen at:  www.JasonHartman.com. Bill and Jason also discuss the Occupy Wall Street Movement. Bill expressed disappointment in the message of the movement, saying it isn't clear and they need to learn how Wall Street really works so that they can be more effective in bringing about reform. Wall Street has been influencing what goes on in Washington and paying lobbyists and donating to congressional coffers so that they can get the regulations, or lack thereof, that they want, i.e. the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Bill talks about how the expansion of Wall Street into Middle Class America was not an accident, using the example of Merrill Lynch being a public company. This ultimately led to broken trust between Wall Street and Main Street, as people have now shied away from risk taking. To solve the problems, Bill suggests changing the incentive system on Wall Street, in that it can no longer be okay to take huge risks with people's money or get paid big bonuses whether they lose money for the firms or not, as well as going back to having to use their partner's capital to operate. William D. Cohan offers audiences a unique, close-up perspective of the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression. He combines deep knowledge of the investment banking world with the fine storytelling skills of an award-winning investigative journalist. Bill's new book is titled Money and Power: How Goldman Sachs Came To Rule The World, a revelatory history of Goldman Sachs. His previous book, House of Cards: A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street, lays out in gory detail how the financial crisis began with the collapses of Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers. The Last Tycoons: The Secret History of Lazard Frères & Co. won the 2007 Financial Times/Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award for its candid revelations about how Wall Street works. He should know; he spent six years at the firm. Bill Cohan has a long-time insider's in-depth knowledge of investment banking—he was a Wall Street banker for 17 years. In addition to his years as Associate and then Vice President at Lazard Frères, he was a Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch and a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase. He left JPMorgan to write The Last Tycoons, which appeared on the bestseller lists of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. It edged out Alan Greenspan's Age of Turbulence to win the FT/Goldman Sachs award. Bloomberg.com and The Evening Standard named it Book of the Year. William D. Cohan writes regularly for The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Fortune, The Daily Beast, ArtNews, and The Financial Times. His columns have also appeared in The Washington Post. He is a contributing editor for Bloomberg TV and is a contributor to Bloomberg View. His series of articles on the controversy of the ‘recently discovered' Degas plaster casts in ARTNews won the Silurians 2011 Excellence in Journalism Award.
