North and Rushdoony heavily influenced 20th century theology with their voluminous books about a great deal of topics. The legacy of Rushdoony is still being felt today, more than 60 years after his first book was published in 1959.

Reality and "truth" are being fragmented by modern political and social efforts and promulgated through the internet and social media. Non-Christian beliefs don't and can't offer anything in terms of a comprehensive worldview. Dr. Gary North concludes his discussion of how the Scopes Trial and the ensuing political developments shaped the 20th century. Politics gets all the focus, but if every Christian began thinking and teaching how their worldview affects everything from car and home repair to art and music, as well as education (and politics), the battle would be won in short order. We must lose the "woe is me" mentality and develop a "why not me" mentality and strategy instead.

Dr. Gary North continues his discussion of how the Scopes Trial and the ensuing political developments shaped the 20th century. Christians began to get politically involved late in the 1970s but didn't have a unique tactic to extend their game plan. A defensive plan is good in the beginning but an offensive strategy is necessary to sustain the momentum. 

Dr. Gary North concludes this talk about the importance and historic significance of the Scopes Trial and William Jennings Bryan. A committed anti-Darwinist, Bryan saw the implications of Darwinism for culture and society and recognized its attack on Christianity, both implicitly and explicitly. (Part Two of Two)

Average monthly student loan payment: ~$400 per month Average student loan interest rate: 6% 2.6 million people owe more than $100,000 in student loans Almost half of all university-educated Americans rely on loans to pay for their higher education 84% of American adults report that student loans negatively affect their ability to save for retirement. Student debt has caused a large percentage of college graduates to postpone marriage, a family, and buying a home.  More than 50% of student who owe $55,000 or more in student debt have taken jobs outside their field (compared to 29% of those with no debt). Average student debt in TN is almost $27,000 Less than 50% of millennials say taking out student loans was worth the cost. Unemployment rate of recent college graduates since 2016 (not factoring in 2020) has been 4%. Gary Demar is one of those iconic figures in the eschatological world. He has been writing, debating, and persuading for almost 40 years. He has a host of interests, but the one that has garnered the most attention is his sophisticated, yet, simple approach to eschatology. Gary holds to a position called "preterism," which affirms that most prophesy in the New Testament was speaking to something that would take place within that generation and not some futuristic generation divorced from that present context. Gary Demar was also a close friend of Gary North, who passed away a month ago. They both attended the same congregation and cooperated on numerous efforts for over four decades.
