In this episode, we're unpacking the astrology of the week of December 1st, starting with a pragmatic yet productive New Moon in Sag on Sunday, squaring Saturn and trine vivacious Mars. It's a climactic week for Mercury Retrograde — the Trickster God stations direct on December 15th, but much of the mayhem is likely to happen THIS week if it's going to. With the Mercury Jupiter Opposition, exact on Wednesday December 4th, our words hold weight this week, and information circulates rapidly (and spreads more widely) — big assumptions can lead to miscommunications, and agreements or promises made are likely to reverse or yield unexpected outcomes (but if we remain flexible, it's a fab transit for socializing.) Mercury AND the Sun also square Saturn from the 4th — 6th, introducing possible delays, disappointing realizations, inconvenient obligations or pessimistic perspectives. Mars turns retrograde on Wednesday until February 24th, intensifying the need to rethink our motivations and drives, and we finish the week with dreamy Neptune stationing direct on Saturday (so this weekend, everything is NOT necessarily as it seems — especially with Mercury also retrograde.) This coincides with a Venus/Pluto conjunction in the first degree of Aquarius, a potent relationship threshold and intensifier, but we have a number of fun transits to offset any Saturnian melancholy or looming Mars/Pluto intensity. On Monday the 2nd, Mercury trine Chiron lends eloquence and sparks a breakthrough healing or moment of clarity (which is developed more fully around the Mercury cazimi on Wednesday) and a fun trine between Venus and Uranus sparks edgy romances and unexpected flirtations this week (along with possible health/financial/style breakthroughs for earth signs.) Plus, Venus sextile Neptune on Wednesday indicates that support IS available to navigate the week's more challenging transits (and WE may garner joy from reaching out and extending empathy.) It's an active, buzzy week in the cosmos, so staying centered (and working WITH these transits, not against them) will be crucial! Samson justifies his marriages to two Philistian women as commanded by God. Samson's God is always an internal “motion,” never a projected supernatural figure. Echoing Paradise Lost, the Chorus says that God's ways are justifiable—but not by reason. The trickster deity (or archetype) is instrumental in the progress of most cultures and essential for inner transformation. We get acquainted with the primordial force of alchemical change, including his aspects of Hermes, the Coyote, Loki, Set, Prometheus, and Tezcatlipoca. Olifat was the Micronesian equivalent of the Norse god Loki, M'ii the coyote, the African Anansi or the Korean Seokga who were known as trickster gods in their respective mythology. In the myths of the people of the Pacific island nation of Micronesia, the adventures of a trickster known as Olifat were common. He was often cruel to the gods, made fools of men, and caused death and injury to humans. Despite his harmful behaviour, he sometimes helped people by giving them advice on love and other personal matters.Olifat was considered to be unconventional looking which made him think he was unattractive and made him jealous towards all living beings. Olifat was a precocious baby who matured miraculously fast and demonstrated feats of strength.Read more at https://mythlok.com/olifat/
In Norse mythology, the god known as Loki is regarded as a prankster who enjoys playing pranks on his enemies and fellow gods. He is the brother of the god Odin and is often the one who digs the other gods out of their deepest holes. His name has negative connotations due to his actions and deceitful nature, such as his involvement in the death of the god Baldr and causing the Ragnarok or Doomsday.Despite having no cult attached to him, he is regarded as one of the most prominent gods in Norse mythology. He is also one of the three gods who headlines multiple myths alongside Odin and Thor. He is also regarded as the enemy of the gods, as he entered their banquet uninvited and demanded their drink. Loki was bound to a rock (by the entrails of one or more of his sons, according to some sources) as punishment, thus in many ways resembling the Greek figures Prometheus and Tantalus. Also like Prometheus, Loki is considered a god of fire.Loki may be depicted on the Snaptun Stone, the Kirkby Stephen Stone, and the Gosforth Cross. Scholars have debated Loki's origins and role in Norse mythology, which some have described as that of a trickster god.Read more at https://mythlok.com/loki/
Seokga was a rebellious god in Korean mythology and he along with Mireuk was responsible for the creation of the world. To prove their sovereignty over the world they created, they held 3 contests. Seokga planted a magnolia flower and proclaimed that if the flower grew towards Mireuk, the world would be his, vice versa. When the flower eventually grew towards Mireuk, Seokga placed it on his lap. Mireuk then brought the world's first death in the world, leading it to exist in an imperfect state. Ultimately, Seokga becomes the first ruler of the world through deceit. The two gods face off against each other in duels of supernatural power. This includes such as making a river freeze in midsummer, hitting a bottle of liquor mid-air and having the liquor float in the air even while the bottle shatters and falls. In most of the stories, the moon and sun double or disappear after the unjust victory of Seokga, and the usurper must either destroy the moon or the sun. Only the northern tradition discusses the creation of humanity; according to one narrative, Mireuk grows insects into humans.Seokga is often described as a giant who is similar in size and build to Mireuk which led to an equal physical contest.Read more about Seokga at https://mythlok.com/seokga/

Today, Dwhitt and Richard dive into that smirking, sly guy himself: Loki! Popular in recent years due to the marvel films, Loki proves to be one of the most remembered and interesting figures among mythologies. While he hangs with the Gods, being friend with both Odin and Thor, he himself is not. Giant (Jotan) by birth, he assumes the role of the "Trickster God" among the Norse. Modern versions paint him as a villain but in reality he mostly causes disorder and trickery. Although it's debated on his origins and role among the Norse because, as with many Norse Myths, very little is written about him. He holds the power of illusion and shapeshifting, using these powers to trick and sow chaos. He holds an ill tempered and jealous eye, not many like the giant Loki in Valhalla. But Odin, the chief of the Gods, had sworn him as blood brother. His most infamous story is when he killed Baldur, son of Odin. The nameless trickster god stirs up trouble for gods and humans alike, until he discovers his true identity.
Greg’s 80’s Month selection returns back to the John Hughes canon with Weird Science. In this teenage boy fantasy flick, we take a deep look the creep factor that is Chet, racist first impressions, the possible presence of another Trickster God, and we ask if this film even needs Gary. The Trickster God has tested the Asgardian gods’ patience for the last time. Ever the treasonous brethren, scapegoat, and foe to the gods, Loki stands trial as Odin hands down an unthinkably cruel punishment in the wake of the impending prophecy. A figure prevalent within the Norse Mythology, but one whose motivations and purpose have been the subject of debate for hundreds of years. There is relatively little source material about Loki and his name has multiple translations. The son of a Giant and a God, Loki shows an ambivalence towards their problems and relies heavily on shape shifting tricks. Check out Parcasts first Fiction Podcast - MIND'S EYE

Join us as we finally see the debut of the Shogun Zords (RIP Frog Zord, my sweet child) and see a ranger actually fight Zedd one on one! Other than that get ready for the tangent-ey-est episode until the next one: we talk tiny giraffe toys, video rental stores, Moon Crew Tacos, Trickster God powers, Zedd's Moses similarities, and the fact that yes, Scott Adams still sucks.
Tonight we will deal with some advanced metaphysics, as we uncover the nature and purpose of the divine trickster. We will dig into psychology, metaphysics and eschatology, as well as other concepts. We (only Chris, really) goofed up real bad by screwing up the recording of an episode, while the contestants of MTV's Are You the One goofed up even worse. Mercury is one of the most neglected planets in astrology and magic. In fact, the only time we tend to hear about the "Trickster God" is when Mercury is retrograde. In this episode of Keep It Magic (Part 3 of Finding Your Inner Gold Series), Storm Cestavani and Jacki Smith explore Mercury's mythology, his astrological attributes, and his powerful connection to magic. If you want to understand how Mercury is the planet we go to when we need to 'understand life', then this is the show for you. This Show is Sponsored by Conventry Creations
The Fool Archetype is the aspect of the psyche that takes nothing seriously, welcomes uncertainty, and always finds a way to break into laughter...In mythology it's seen in the Trickster God.
