The mystery is revealed in the 12th and final issue of Dark Horse Comics' Hyperspace Stories, with a heartwarming tale about a Rebel engineer set among the events of the Battle of Endor that brings the series to a solidly satisfying close.In The High Republic: Shadows of Starlight #3, Bell and Burryaga deal with the fallout of the Nihil operating unchecked while the bulk of the Jedi Order remains safely behind the walls of their Coruscant temple. The final pages see the capture of a Jedi grandmaster, one referred to in The High Republic Adventures Phase III #1.Bounty Hunters #41 (dammit, Ethan!) provides a fulfilling conclusion for most the book's characters, with just enough doors left open for more adventures down the road as the series barrels toward its January conclusion. THE DRENGIR ARE DEFEATED, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE NIHIL!? This ep of SWCIC continues The High Republic comics; this time volume 2 which takes place during & just after The Rising Storm, but shows what happened to the Drengir during The Republic Fair! In a bit more detail, the story continues to follow Keeve Trennis, Sskeer & Avar Kriss battling the Drengir & The Great Progenitor; Skeer struggles with his force connection, Keeve struggles being a newly-knighted Jedi and Avar goes against the council's wishes. Plus two Jedi join the Nihil and are faced with killing Myarga The Hutt in cold blood – this plus much more is discussed in this ep of SWCIC, including details surrounding the mysterious Darth Krall… These High Republic comics are set in 231BBY, in the first phase & second wave of the High Republic; all after Light Of The Jedi - issues 6-8 are during The Rising Storm and issues 9-10 are after. The High Republic issue 6 was released 30th June 2021, issue 10 was released 20th October 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released 7th December 2021. Cavan Scott is the writer of these comics, with Georges Jeanty as penciller on issues 6, 7 & 10 and Ario Anindito on issues 8 & 9. TY TORRICK'S MYSTERIOUS PAST IS REVEALED! Mike starts this episode with a brief bio on Ty Yorrick, where these comic sit in The High Republic and what Tholothians (Ty's species) are before he delves into the plot of issue 1. As well as going through the plot of the 4 issues of The Monster Of Temple Peak, Mike provides information on various species (including Gundarks, Segredos & more), various planets and other connections to the rest of the SW universe – this episode is a must-listen for any fans of The High Republic book The Rising Storm! These High Republic comics are set in 231BBY, in the first phase & second wave of the High Republic; after Light Of The Jedi but before The Rising Storm. The Monster Of Temple Peak 1 was released 11th August 2021, issue 4 was released November 17th 2021 and the trade paperback collection's release is to be confirmed. Cavan Scott is the writer of these comics, with Rachael Stott as artist (& cover artist) with Vita Efrenova & Nicola Righi as colour artists. Mike tackled the first volume of High Republic comics (by Cavan Scott) in episode 84 of SWCIC and the first volume of HR Adventures comics (by Daniel José Older) in episode 86 of SWCIC. In case you're interested, here's the full (and boiled-down) review I wrote for it: Scott gives the reader an unparalleled sense of the enormity of the Star Wars galaxy in The High Republic: The Rising Storm. But when the time comes to get down to business (namely, the assault by the Nihil on the optimistic Republic Fair), Scott's focus smartly narrows to a handful of characters on both sides of the battle, including compelling newcomer and "saber-for-hire" Ty Yorrick. Scott keeps the pace swift and develops his characters throughout the conflict, while saving his biggest surprises for the final chapters. Behind the scenes, Marchion Ro - a Star Wars villain for the ages - has been pulling strings and building up to his most horrific act yet. Scott brings us the first real experience of the threat to the Force itself, the one promised by The High Republic's promotional materials.
