Jamais imaginou que os seus vídeos o tornariam um alvo dos negacionistas climáticos, ao ponto de precisar de proteção. Lúcia Müzell, da RFI em Paris Em 2025, o assédio virtual disparou, de internautas não só da própria França, como de endereços nos Estados Unidos e em países de influência russa. Zaka não acredita em um acaso: a situação piorou após a volta de Donald Trump à presidência americana, impulsionando o discurso contrário à ciência e, em especial, à proteção do meio ambiente. Hoje, o agrônomo vive sob proteção policial, na região de Montpellier, no sul do país. “Chegamos neste ponto. Até na Europa, tem um tipo de ‘trumpização', digamos, da ciência. Passamos para uma era da pós-verdade, na qual colocamos as emoções à frente dos fatos científicos”, resume. “Recebi ameaças de morte, acusações racistas, ameaças de estupro. Cheguei a receber ameaças sobre minha aparência, por usar um chapéu de cowboy. Virou quase uma rotina”, conta o engenheiro agrônomo.  A paixão por fotografar trovões levou Zaka, doutor em biologia, a se especializar em uma área pouco conhecida, mas cada vez mais importante para o futuro da agricultura face às mudanças climáticas. A agroclimatologia estuda as interações entre o clima e as atividades produtivas no campo. Nas redes sociais, o especialista tem milhares de seguidores interessados nos seus conselhos sobre como preparar a agricultura francesa ao aumento dos fenômenos extremos, como as secas e enchentes. “É sobre como a gente se prepara até 2050 ou até 2070 face às mudanças climáticas, conforme a região. Preciso trocar espécies? Devo começar a plantar espécies tropicais na Europa?”, exemplifica. “Devo preparar os meus consumidores a novos gostos, novas cores dos produtos no mercado? Os agricultores são muito abertos a essas discussões porque estão particularmente afetados pelas mudanças do clima, afinal isso mexe com o bolso deles”, aponta. Vinho, legumes: agricultura francesa já sofre consequências Na França, as alterações climáticas já viram do avesso uma das culturas agrícolas mais tradicionais, a do vinho. As temperaturas mais quentes obrigam os produtores do sul do país a planejarem sistemas de irrigação, até pouco tempo atrás dispensáveis. Com frequência, as colheitas da uva precisam ser antecipadas e até as zonas geográficas históricas de produção, como a Borgonha, estão ameaçadas. Em 2025, os prejuízos relacionados a duas ondas de calor custaram € 10 bilhões à agricultura francesa, segundo um relatório da universidade alemã de Mannheim sobre as perdas do setor em toda a Europa. A França foi o terceiro país mais atingido, depois da Espanha e da Itália. Os produtores de legumes e hortaliças também buscam caminhos de adaptação. Os invernos mais brandos e curtos levam ao amadurecimento precoce das plantas – que ficam desprotegidas em caso de uma onda de frio tardia. “Eu saliento que as mudanças climáticas são um fato. Não tem nenhuma discussão sobre o aumento da temperatura ou as mudanças das precipitações, afinal elas estão [sendo] medidas por dezenas de milhares de estações meteorológicas no nosso país”, frisa o produtor de conteúdo. “Mas não é só isso: temos as datas de florescimento das plantas, a migração dos pássaros, o início do canto das cigarras, que também mudou. Não são medidas humanas, mas medidas ambientais que estão se alterando progressivamente.”   Tratamento dos solos na Europa ou no Brasil Para enfrentar esta nova realidade, o setor vai precisar dar mais atenção ao tratamento dos solos, afirma Serge Zaka. As zonas suscetíveis às ondas de calor precisarão pensar em técnicas de estocagem da água, enquanto aquelas onde as chuvas aumentarão deverão planejar melhor o escoamento da água – que, quando acumulada, leva ao aumento das pragas nas lavouras.  Por outro lado, novas culturas favorecidas pelas altas temperaturas, como oliveiras e frutas, poderão ser expandidas no país, aconselha o agroclimatologista. O francês também está de olho nas mudanças no restante da Europa e até mesmo além das fronteiras do continente.  “Para os agricultores brasileiros, os princípios são praticamente os mesmos. Precisaremos trabalhar no mapeamento das áreas de distribuição das culturas: no Brasil, algumas migrarão para o sul, para longe dos trópicos”, afirma. “Prestem muita atenção ao solo, porque haverá tanto excesso, quanto escassez de água. E ao avançarem pouco a pouco sobre a floresta tropical, vocês estão não apenas alterando o ciclo global do carbono, mas também estão ressecando os campos e se tornando, vocês próprios, mais vulneráveis ​​às mudanças climáticas”, salienta. A vegetalização das áreas rurais, importante solução natural para o enfrentamento do calor e a resiliência dos solos, é um conselho que hoje vale para grande parte do mundo, ressalta o especialista. As pesquisas em genética e o uso das ferramentas digitais também podem ser aliadas valiosas contra uma crise que só tende a se agravar nas próximas décadas.  “As ameaças passam por cima do meu chapéu, como dizemos em francês. Eu não ligo, porque a partir do momento em que eu toco e incomodo pessoas que não concordam comigo, é porque o meu objetivo está sendo cumprido”, diz Zaka. “Pelo contrário, tudo isso me dá mais visibilidade nos algoritmos das redes sociais e na mídia. E tem o efeito oposto do que eles querem: em vez de me silenciar, eles acabam me promovendo.”

Israel carried out an airstrike in Syria on Monday evening, targeting a military facility near the city of Tartous, in the country’s northwestern coastal region. And today, the Defense Ministry says it is carrying out activities to clear explosives from an area of the Golan Heights near the Syrian border. Fabian updates on IDF activities inside Syria. We spend the rest of the episode on the series of IDF probes into the failures on October 7, 2023. We learn about the immediate failures, including that the attack was a surprise with no intelligence warning. Hamas had numerous forces and was attacking several areas simultaneously. And the IDF had far fewer forces and minimal capabilities available: When the attack began, involving over 5,000 terrorists, just 767 IDF troops were stationed on the border. And then we turn to specific investigations into the air force, the navy and the intelligence wing, and we learn about the series of disasters that led to the tragedies at the Nahal Oz IDF base and Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
