We're closing the books on Rebel Blue Ranch with Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage. We're sad to see this lovely blue sky adventure come to an end, but it's fitting to do so with Cam and Dusty. With Cam's fiance ditching her on their wedding day, Dusty steps in to the rescue. But can he convince her that they deserve a second chance? Also discussed: hygiene of sentient objects, what drew us into and hooked us on Rebel Blue, and dogs–because duh.Up Next: All the Missing Pieces by Catherine CowlesSOS Novella: Handle Me by Unfortunate ReadsWhat else we're reading:The Pucking Proposal by Lauren LandishMeet Me Over the Bridge by Veronica WynneSHOW INFORMATION: Join the DiscordFollow us on Spotify! We hopped in our time machine this week to read 2006's A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. When a Scottish Lykae (who just happens to be a king) finally scents his fated mate while being held prisoner by a bunch of vampires, he quite literally gnaws his way to freedom. Except that when he finds her on the streets of Paris, he realizes that she, too, is a vampire. Turn out, she's only half-vampire. Her other half is valkyrie. And she's a bada$$. (Eventually, anyway.) Also discussed: our professionalism, our dogs, and how technology is working against us. On that note, please excuse the random changes in audio quality. Up Next: Wild and Wrangled by Lyla SageSOS Novella: My Date with a Pair of Grey Sweatpants by Cassi O. We're back and this is an absolute blockbuster, which, considering the topic, is an oddly ironic term.Last week Sue had an exclusive interview with NSW Building Commissioner David Chandler about the benighted Mascot Towers – the building that started crumbling about five years ago and whose evacuated former residents have been living in rental accommodations since.Did I say five years? Turns out the towers had defects long before that.  So how did David Chandler wrangle a possible (read probable) resolution between resident-owners who just want out, commercial lot owners and residents who want to stay, investors, banks and strata lenders?  You could read our very own Sue Williams' exclusive report in the Sydney Morning Herald … or Jimmy's column in the Australian Financial Review, but first listen to this merely fascinating podcast where we hear David Chandler himself, make sense of it all.____________________________________________________Flat Chat is all about apartment living, especially in Australia.Find us on Facebook and Twitter and the Flat Chat website.Send comments and questions to mail@flatchat.com.au.Register to ask and answer questions about apartment living anonymously on the website.Recorded by Jimmy Thomson & Sue Williams; Transcribed by Otter.ai; Transcription tidied up and sensified by Raphie.Find out more about Sue Williams and Jimmy Thomson on their websites.

Super stoked to announce new guest, Bradley Hawkins, to The Story! After starting a career as an actor in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1990s, Bradley Hawkins and his family moved to Lancaster in 1997 where he taught film studies, acting, and humanities courses at Lebanon High School as well as directed several stage productions there through 2012. Now retired from teaching, Hawkins made his directorial debut for the big screen in 2015 with his award-winning comedy short, ROLLER COASTER. Hawkins is currently living his dream as a film director, screenwriter, and producer, and is the co-founder of Lancaster-based film production company, Dadley Productions. The small startup film company now has three multi-award-winning short films that have cumulatively won over 200 film awards, with several of those being earned for Hawkins' direction, screenwriting, producing, and original music scoring. I'm joined by Robyn James, Gender and Equity Advisor with the Nature Conservancy, to discuss environmental issues, broadly speaking, and gender issues more specifically.  With over 25 years' experience working in the Asia Pacific region at the community and national level to address conservation and equity issues, she is at the forefront in the convergence of localized environmental concerns with international environmental politics.    Topics of discussion center around the role of women as not just stewards, but knowledge-based experts, in the race to find balance and sustainability in our natural resource utilization.  We conclude with a short discussion of the current Russian-Ukrainian war and its potential impacts on the environment and the humans that inhabit it.        The podcast features the following songs: “I am woman”, “Wrangled”, and “Milkman of Human Kindness”.    Our Social Landscape is a reader-supported publication. In this episode, Jessica sits down with Jeanette Gregory to unpack her creative superpowers around people-wrangling, event activation, overcoming challenges with alcohol early in her career (leading to her celebrating 12 years of sobriety), and how she’s embracing her abilities to shine in the worlds of film festivals as an organization guru. Jeanette hails from Salt Lake then big risks she did take. First a Geology major, then she changed her behavior. To Atlanta she fled and did film festivals instead. Through office jobs and night school, she began collecting admin tools. Wrangled volunteers while in a skirt, with pockets, found her place in media as a corporate sprocket. Now she organizes creatives, dazzles and amazes, toddler mom, thrifting bomb, crafty maker, mover and shaker, trying her best to not be a faker. She also collects Smith Corona typewriters; second favorite collection. Dr. Zev Zelenko LIVE in EXCLUSIVE interview says the real treatments are a weapon against the genocide globalists are trying to unleash. A modern day coal miner's daughter, Angaleena Presley grew up in a holler close to her childhood idol Loretta Lynn in the hills of Beauty, Kentucky. But this dynamic singer/songwriter has forged her own path writing fearless songs that capture the hard life inside this rugged part of Appalachia she calls home. Subscribe and download on your favorite podcast platform: Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Tune In, Stitcher. In this episode, we find out how Angaleena was called in the middle of the night to join Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe in what would become one of country music's hottest trios, the Pistol Annies. She shares how the three write music quite prolifically together and joked that she recently told her bandmates, "I hate you girls so much because I don't want to write with anyone else." Angaleena recently made a name for herself by standing up to country music radio who's opted out of playing female artists and addresses why she spoke up knowing it might ultimately hurt her career. Her latest album "Wrangled" won critical praise for highlighting this industry practice. There's a courage and strength that can be heard throughout Angaleena's catalog and she sings some of her best songs in this episode including, "Housewife's Prayer," "Cheer Up Lil Darling," "Pain Pills," "Wrangled," "Good Girl Down" and "Dreams Don't Come True." Robert K. Oermann hosts this music-filled, story-driven journey with the producer, Brad Newman adding insight along the way. Like us on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
