The BTBs wrap up their 2024 (but in 2025) Creepy Pasta adventure with three more stories written by the fellas themselves. There's no prompt this week so who knows what these stories could be about?!First Spencer takes a crack at Brian's mystery thriller Saddled with Suspicion, which features not only the debut of a beloved fake gumshoe from a recently covered Boob Tube Boys episod,e but also the return of one of the show's greatest villains (Kevin Sorbo). Will they solve the theft of Big Moses the horse? Only God above knows...Van then orates Spencer's heart-pounding horror story The Ricotta Room, a stirring addition to the Pete Lightning: Boy Architect universe. But before we find out about all sorts of architect stuff Spencer turns the tables on Van in a twist no one saw comingFinally Brian finishes up the year's stories by romping through yet another tale in the Death Race series with Van's Death Race 3000. Can our heroic Sean Penn impersonator win the race to save humanity? What is God Jr's deal? Will the bit about bringing his most prized posession come up again or did Van just forget that plot point? Listen to the show and find out, dummy!

église AB Lausanne ; KJV 2 Samuel (2 Kings) 16 And when David was a little past the top of the hill, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred bunches of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine. And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink. And the king said, And where is thy master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, To day shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father. Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine are all that pertained unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech thee that I may find grace in thy sight, my lord, O king. And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came. And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial: The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art taken in thy mischief, because thou art a bloody man. Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head. And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? so let him curse, because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David. Who shall then say, Wherefore hast thou done so? ...
Pontius Pilate was the Roman Procurator of Palestine during the reign of Tiberius. Though he commanded a Roman legion of 4500 soldiers, his was not a plush assignment. Saddled with governing one of the frontier provinces of the Roman Empire he spent most of his time in Caesarea Maritime where the weather was reasonably decent and where he was able to have minimal contact with the stubbornly unruly inhabitants of the region under his control. Only on high holy days did Pilate trouble himself to go into Jerusalem so as to be present should any sort of problem arise. Still, he was the face of the Roman Empire in that part of the world, and as such, he literally had the power of life or death over the people under his control. Yet, for all the trappings that went with his position, it is quite possible that Pontius Pilate would have lived and died utterly forgotten by history had it not been for one fateful day when he crossed paths with a Galilean Jew named Jesus of Nazareth. This episode is definitely rated XXX. On this episode, we welcome one of our good friends, and host of Dog-Eared's Between the Covers rom-com book club, DeAnn Malone! DeAnn is extremely well read when it comes to romance novels which makes her the perfect guest for Ellyn's game she put together. In this episode Ellyn reads off the chili pepper scenes from some of the best romances and DeAnn has to guess the book, and if she gets the author name and character names she gets bonus points. What does she win? Well... bragging rights of course! This is a silly, weird, fun episode that will definitely have you laughing. We recommend headphones in when listening. Professor Tony Ghiotto went from the battlefield to the classroom. He started his legal career in the Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, and he explains how his career took him from Afghanistan to a law school classroom. Saddled with student debt, and after an unexpected meeting with a JAG representative, Ghiotto found himself in the Air Force. Within his first two weeks as a full member of the JAG, he was in the courtroom trying a case. There were pros and cons. Struggles included feeling overwhelmed and making mistakes early on, but the pros were getting a lot of courtroom experience in a hurry and learning on the job. From practicing law in a tent in Afghanistan to a boardroom in Washington, DC, “It made me grow up and gave me some direction,” Ghiotto says. Thanks to the JAG, he practiced in multiple fields. One of his oddest cases involved a low-flying jet causing a cow to give birth prematurely. His criminal cases ranged from traffic tickets to reviewing wartime procedures and civilian casualties. If you've ever considered starting a legal career in the military, this is a don't-miss episode. (And, bonus, Ghiotto is open to mentoring any young lawyer considering a JAG career. Drop him a note). Today's show is a review and discussion of Scott Derrickson's coming-of-age horror thriller film, The Black Phone.Joe King is an American author better known by the pen name Joe Hill. He chose the pen name after not wanting to capitalize on his father's name, the legendary author Stephen King. Hill's first novel was a collection of short stories that was first published in October 2005 in the United Kingdom titled “20th Century Ghosts.” Saddled right in the middle of this collection is the 30-page short story called The Black Phone. Originally published in the Autumn 2004 edition of The Third Alternative, a quarterly published high production magazine that features cutting-edge speculative fiction, The Black Phone tells the story of child abduction by a man aptly called “The Grabber.” Trapped in a basement room, the boy's only hope lies in a mysterious disconnected black phone that hangs on the basement wall. When the phone rings, the child hears the whispers of the kidnapper's previous, and now dead, victims. Produced by horror powerhouse Blumhouse studios and distributed by Universal Pictures, Scott Derrickson's adaptation of this short story turned into a major motion picture leaned into his own middle school experience growing up in the 1970s in Denver, Colorado. The film incorporates many items from Derrickson's memory of that period, including the overcast skies, chain link fences, and the violence that existed for him inside and outside the home.In this show, we do more than a movie review by delving into the lives of the cast and crew, fan theories, trivia, scene breakdowns, and anything related to the film itself. It seems that an intrepid consortium of impact investors, real estate developers, and the Swiss Tourism, Farming, and Dairy Products Oversight Authority have created a juggernaut heading for Jung's home in Kusnacht and his famous tower in Bollingen. The enterprise called Große Böse Wölfe Hinein Unterwäsche has announced its plans to finalize the acquisition of Jung's estate and transform it. The modernization of revered sites is familiar across the world. Saddled with mounting maintenance costs and increasing government regulation, British Estates have been repurposed as luxury hotels and sacred temples into coffee houses. Ineligible for inclusion as a UNESCO world heritage site, the Jung properties were placed in a precarious position and seemed to be headed for a similar fate. The consortium has leaked plans to position the properties within a large compound inspired by the successful Disney Adventureland highlighting fairytale motifs. While Jung himself might have delighted in bringing the archetypal themes in the Grimm's tales to life, it is hard to imagine he would have tolerated the intrusion into his sanctuary, Bollingen. Analytic psychology has long understood the role of liminal spaces that straddle two states of consciousness. One could argue that the developer's plans will likewise provide a transitional space between the quaint blend of medieval and Heimatstil Architektur of the original buildings with innovative technology and luxury hospitality. Like Jung himself, this venture suggests a battle between the Voice of the Times and the Voice of the Depths. To capture the interest of the modern collective, focused on boutique experiences, the creative team is including a luxury hotel compound, a spa centered on historic Swiss folk remedies, children's camps inspired by Jung's boyhood experiences, and an immersive virtual reality-enhanced tour based on Emilie Preiswerk's spiritualist practices. Perhaps to mollify the expected outrage, the consortium plans to support the Analytic community by digitalizing the Jung library and reproducing artifacts from the homes for sale abroad. Finally, as a bow to the Voice of the Deep, there are plans to organize a nonprofit extension of the new corporation that will fund quantitative research into the efficacy of Jungian Analysis—a long-awaited tool to protect the integrity of analysis. Holding the tension of the opposites, modernization vs. heritage, may help our community envision the transformation of the Jung properties as a kind of symbol that blends both values without diminishing either. Or we may find our memories, dreams, and reflections trampled by monetization and exploitation. Only time will tell. Saints, it's time to get in the game! Many of us have not adequately spent enough time with GOD and meditated on His Word, thus at the most critical points we face in life, we ofttimes are left sitting on the sidelines and missing out on all the action.
Acts 4:27-31 (NIV) – [27] “Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. [28] They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen. [29] Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great BOLDNESS. [30] STRETCH OUT YOUR HAND TO HEAL and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” [31] After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God BOLDLY. Stretch Out Your Hand to Heal “The people of Old Testament times tended to think of sickness as punishment for sin. This concept is explored fully in the Book of Job. But Jesus was firmly convinced that His Father’s purpose for humankind was health, wholeness, and salvation. He did not teach that disease was a punishment sent by God. And while He was always concerned to heal the sick in body, He also paid close attention to the mind and the spirit of those who suffered.” (Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary) 1. “Aruwkah” means health, healing of a wound, or restoration; the new flesh that grows at the wounded spot. Isaiah 58:8 (NIV) – [8] Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your HEALING will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV) – [17] “But I will restore you to HEALTH and heal your wounds,” declares the Lord,” because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.” 2. “Chabash” means saddle, bind up, girded, govern, restrain, healer, bandage; to wrap firmly, especially a turban, compress, or saddle. Numbers 22:21 (NIV) – [21] Balaam got up in the morning, SADDLED his donkey and went with the princes of Moab. Psalms 147:1-4 (NIV) – [1] Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! [2] The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. [3] He heals the brokenhearted and BINDS UP their wounds. [4] He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. 3. “Yeshuw’ah” means salvation, help, deliverance, victory, health, save, saving, welfare, aid 2 Chronicles 20:17 (NIV) – [17] “You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the DELIVERANCE the Lord will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.” Psalms 42:5-6 (NLT) – [5] Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my SAVIOR and [6] my God! Psalms 67:1-2 (KJV) – [1] God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. [2] That thy way may be known upon earth, thy SAVING HEALTH among all nations. 4. “Kehah” means a healing, a cure, a quenching, a dulling, a lessening, alleviation. Nahum 3:18-19 (NIV) – [18] O king of Assyria, your shepherds slumber; your nobles lie down to rest. Your people are scattered on the mountains with no one to gather them. [19] Nothing can HEAL your wound; your injury is fatal. Everyone who hears the news about you claps his hands at your fall, for who has not felt your endless cruelty?
Live from the no panic zone—I'm Steve Gruber—I am America's Voice— I am an anti- socialist Here are three big things you need to know right now— ONE— US intelligence agencies are pushing back now—on the idea that the Chinese have set up police stations of their own in the United States— TWO— The Support for gun control is falling and that means another progressive dream is fading at least for now—and this trend has been going on for awhile— THREE— It is remarkable that Anthony Fauci and Team Apocalypse are saddled up again and riding back up Covid Mountain now that the mid-term Elections are over— That's right they are ready to plant their flag of government control of you and your health right in your front yard just in time for Thanksgiving— The good news is that Aunt Karen may not make it for dinner if you refuse your 5th or sixth booster before the holidays and that is something to be thankful for— But what I am trying to understand is why they are working so hard to push Covid booster injections—and faux vaccines—when they have been such a complete failure— I mean do you think Aunt Karen even knows the Chinese refuse to give the mRNA injections to any of its more than 1 billion citizens? Do you think there might be a reason—they are not interested in Pfizer or Moderna when it comes to keeping its people safe and alive? I mean China happily steals technology from every country in the world without concern—BUT they want nothing to do with the pet project of Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates—why do you think that is? And it looks to me like the ‘declare an emergency and lockdown for any reason crowd' – is just itching to find some reason to do it all over again—I mean they were hoping to declare a climate crisis but unfortunately they had to call in the New York national guard to help dig out from a historic early November snowstorm that came with temperatures in the teens from Madison to Massachusetts instead— So suddenly they are back on the path to Covid-Topia—a place where the left can issue any ridiculous demands it wants while screaming ‘its all about the science' at the top is their collective lungs—even though the vast majority of America and the rest of the world stopped listening a long time ago— At least this time around the FDA won't be issuing factually challenged Tweets on a regular basis—that were clearly more rooted in propaganda than science—and are now the focus of investigations that will be launched by the incoming GOP House majority—that believe the agency convinced millions of people of factually untrue declartions— One of the most egregious violations of trust came with the ‘you are not a horse' Tweet that was aimed to convince you that Ivermectin was a drug for Horses and cows—when in fact the inventors won the Nobel prize in Medicine for the discovery in 2015—and it has been used safely for decades longer than that! The anti-parisite in fact is exactly what I took when I was deathly ill with Covid just after Christmas of 2021—and within 8 hours was almost symptom free—yes—after taking the FDA attacked treatment I was healthy as a horse—maybe that's what they actually meant to say— But none of that matters now—because there is a new concerted effort to convince you that anything less than fully vaccinated with 2 jabs and at least a couple more boosters you might as well make your funeral arrangements— And don't you dare ask about young men dying from myocarditis or why—because it could not possibly come from an untested injection that is not a traditional vaccine in any fashion—its just not possible that some untested injection could injure or kill people. I mean its not like Thalidomide—that was mass marketed to help women sleep and control morning sickness caused more than 10,000 children to be born without arms and legs in the 1950's and 60's—and caused hundreds of thousands more to die from miscarriages— Oh wait, that is exactly what happened—and the drug was pushed globally into 46 countries so the actual numbers could be far higher and far more disastrous— and the Pharmaceutical company behind the drug pushed it—all the way into the 1980's in countries like Spain even though its devastating impacts were well documented— So excuse me—if I don't blindly buy into any of this hype anymore—or the constant refrain of you will be safer if you take this mRNA injection—that we know little about its long term effects— My answer is no—Hell no—no matter how hard they push—
Two weeks ago, Sri Lankans stormed the residence of the President and Prime Minister, following months of protests against corruption and worsening economic conditions. Saddled with billions of dollars of foreign debt and facing the lingering economic effects of the pandemic and Russia's war on Ukraine, Sri Lankans face rampant inflation and dire shortages of fuel, foods, and medicines. Dialogue Advisory Group's Ram Manikkalingam joins Deep Dish to explore how this island nation, whose economy was once held up as a success story in South Asia, has come apart, and what this experience reveals about the pressures faced by other nations across the Global South.
