We are excited to have Dr. Natanya Brown with us today to talk about processing our feelings productively. We have a tendency to distract ourselves from our own lives and from our feelings, which essentially makes it harder for us to show up in the ways that we really want to and in the most meaningful ways. This impacts how we show up for our patients and practices, our marriages or close relationships, and most importantly how we show up for ourselves. Dr. Natanya Brown is a board certified endodontist (with training from Tufts, Harvard, and the Univ. of Illinois at Chicago) as well as a certified life and weight loss coach (with training from The Life Coach School). Tapping into the power of mindfulness and coaching, she helps dentists decrease overwhelm, prioritize their personal goals, and create more joy in their lives. Her process has helped countless individuals decrease symptoms of burnout by equipping them with the ability to process stress productively and feel confident making choices so they live with intention. Dr. Natanya regularly presents on the topics of health, wellness and burnout to various dental organizations and is the host of The Life Coaching For Dentists Podcast.
Dr. William Moorehead is with us today to talk about adding IV moderate sedation to your practice, and how it can improve your productivity and bottom line. IV moderate sedation is used in only a small percentages of dental practices, and Dr. Moorehead sees the success those practices are having because of it. Think about how many people avoid going to the dentist becuase of their fears. What if you added the option of IV moderate sedation to your practice, to help ease these patients fears? Your practice could really thrive because of this option! Dr. Moorhead has practiced family and sedation dentistry in Flemingsburg, Kentucky for over 30 years. He has served as President of the Blue Grass Dental Society in Lexington, Kentucky, and President of the Kentucky Dental Association. Dr. Moorhead has received Fellowships from the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the Blue Grass Dental Society. Dr. Moorhead has been developing systems to overcome the challenging issues of staff absenteeism, turnover, lack of quick and adequate training, and high overhead, and has thoroughly documented these systems for other dentists to use. In some circles, he is known as Dr. Checklist. He speaks on topics related to clinical efficiency, dental anesthesia and sedation, dental technology, medical emergencies, and leadership. He also co-teaches a 90 hour course on moderate IV sedation.

A lot of things distract us every single day. It's so important to be intentional to understand how distracted we really are. Are you taking any time during your day to just sit back and reset? Samantha Jones is with us today to talk about Traction vs. Distraction. Samantha Jones began her career in dentistry at the age of 16, cultivating her skills in and passion for communication and relationship-building over three decades. Samantha has earned a reputation as an influencer and thought leader in intentional communication, dental business operations, relationship building, team development, and empowering leaders.
We are all familiar with the term "Operating System" as it relates to our phones and computers, the things that run in the background that makes everything run and act as a cohesive whole. But, what about the business operating system? It's what is running in the background to help create a really cohesive company. This operating system makes sure that all the different departments within your practice are acting as a whole and working for your vision, mission and values. Josey Sewell is with us today to share more on operating systems and why you need one! Josey is a DEO Partner and the Co-Founder of DEO MAP, the first business operating system built specifically for growing dental companies. Many dental entrepreneurs are already singing DEO MAP's praises and with more using it every day, Josey believes it can revolutionize the industry.
Dr. Chris Majors is back with us today to talk about the financial life cycle of a doctor. Every dentist starts with their license and starts practicing, but not all have a vision on how to flourish and that includes how they handle money. Dr. Majors is sharing from his experience how to help you not feel hostage to your financial plan. Before Dr. Majors became a strategy advisor, he spent 23 years in full time clinical practice. A native of Kansas and graduate of the UMKC School of Dentistry, Chris lives in Wichita with his wife (of 25 years) and their four children. At the age of 49, Chris sold his 13-doctor thriving practice to pursue a second half career. After hanging up the hand piece, Chris shifted his energy to bringing specialized business advisory and executive level coaching to dentists. He is also serves as a senior advisor for a healthcare startup company called Fair Market Health. As an experienced dentist, entrepreneur, and coach, Chris focuses his work on creating customized financial strategies, insurance alternatives, and investment opportunities for doctors. Today we are talking to Dr. Eric Roman abour finding, onboarding and managing right associate(s) for your practice(s). By doing this, the doors open up for you and your practice to be more successful, make more money, and continue to grow your practice to its fullest! Dr. Eric J. Roman has lived the true Dentist Entrepreneur journey, fulfilling roles as a dentist, clinical director, founder, partner, CEO, coach, and consultant. He has no shortage of entertaining (and sometimes frightening) stories to tell about the two companies he built and “exited”, the most recent being CarolinasDentist, which he successfully exited as CEO in 2019. After a few months of thoughtful time off to re-calibrate, Eric stepped back into the role of entrepreneur and visionary to establish a handful of companies in the dental industry and beyond. This included Traction for Dental (Dentistry's only EOS Implementation focused solely on dental groups), joyFULL People (training for team culture and engagement), and a coaching company focused on dental executives. In the fall of 2021, these companies were acquired by the DEO to accelerate their shared vision to serve dental organizations. Eric is excited to continue sharing his energy and his experiences to help accelerate the transformation of our industry.

Chuck Blakeman is back with us for part 7 of our new series covering different elements and tools from his first book, Making Money is Killing Your Business (MMIKYB). Today we are talking about what does it mean to have a mature business? One of the fundamental mistakes we make is to measure our business against itself instead of what it provides to us as business owners. A business is mature if: 1. The business owner is no longer the only producer. They may produce, but it's a choice. and 2. The business makes money when the owner is somewhere else. Meaning, the business is producing time and money. A mature business always has two attributes: time and money.
Chuck Blakeman is back with us for part 6 of our new series covering different elements and tools from his first book, Making Money is Killing Your Business (MMIKYB). Today we are going more in depth about dual tracking. The Tyranny of the Urgent and the Priority of the Important both have to be dual tracked if you're ever going to get off of the treadmill. Dual Tracking says, "how do I use one activity to make money today, while I'm also using that activity to set me up to have a business that makes money down the road?"
Chuck Blakeman is back with us for part 5 of our new series covering different elements and tools from his first book, Making Money is Killing Your Business (MMIKYB). Today we are going more in depth about the tyranny of the urgent and the priority of the important. This is what we see as the biggest reason people don't get involved or don't take time out to really focus on what needs to happen. We are talking with Chuck today about the reasons why.
Chuck Blakeman is back with us for part 4 of our new series covering different elements and tools from his first book, Making Money is Killing Your Business (MMIKYB). Today we are talking about being ambitiously lazy by dual tracking. If you're an income producer, you are working hard - you're simply ambitious. But if you are a business owner and you're building a business that makes money instead of you trying to make money, then you're going to be ambitiously lazy. What we mean by that is you work really hard upfront, because you intend to not work so hard going forward; to build a business that will free you to do something else when you want to, even if it's starting another business. Listen in for more from Chuck!
Chuck Blakeman is back with us for part 3 of our new series covering different elements and tools from his first book, Making Money is Killing Your Business (MMIKYB). We're taught in dentistry to find someone's pain point. But what if we focus on the joy point instead? Pain points in life and in dentistry are things you're running away from. Joy points are much more motivating and should be where all our focus is. A joy point is running towards something you like; it energizes you and it can help you. When you find something in your patients mouth that needs work, are you talking in corrective/clinical terms about fixing that bad thing? Or are you showing them the benefits of having it fixed? Having this mindset shift on how to communicate with your patients can complete change the situation for the better. Focus on their joy points rather than the pain points.
When building a dental practice, being profitable is always one of the main goals. Steve Anderson is with us today to discuss 3 steps to get you there: 1. FISTS (FICO score, Intelligent spending, Satisfy passion, Time for relationships, Savings) 2. Real Estate Broker 3. Accountable Professionals Build a solid foundation so that you can build the profitable dental practice of your dreams! In everything he does, DentalEase author Steve Anderson loves to impact others and leave a lasting legacy of improvement. For dentists, that means showing them how to renovate or construct the dental practice of their dreams, save at least ten thousand dollars in the process, and build a dental practice that is stress-free and profitable. The result of 30 years of passionate effort, the DentalEase program is Steve’s not-so-secret weapon to practice perfection, and he’s here to share his method s with the world. His singular goal is to make any dentist’s dream practice a reality. Starting his construction career in 1984, he has specialized in building dental offices since 1997 through his company Denco Dental Construction Inc. In that time he worked with over 1,000 dentists, assisting them in designing and building the dental office they have always dreamed of owning and practicing in. Anderson is the only general contractor in Arizona who is endorsed by the Arizona Dental Association. He also provides CE credits for seminars which he teaches at dental schools and special engagements. His new book, DentalEase: The Essential Guide to Creating the Stress-Free and Profitable Dental Practice of Your Dreams, is a detailed written account of his expert knowledge on the subject. The goal of this essential guide is to assist dentists in making educated decisions effortlessly and minimizing the painful (and expensive) lessons many experience. Steve knows how to create a dream dental practice from the ground up, literally, so dentists can achieve their goal in their practice that fits their vision. He knows first-hand how hard it is for dentists to figure out where to start or how to build the practice they envision on their own. Dentists have found the guide they’ve been looking for, calling DentalEase, “An incredible encyclopedia on how to attain success.” dreamdentalpractice.net

And what message are you communicating to your team, practice, customers, by doing that? As Maya Angelou once said, "when people show you who they are, believe them."
