Brent is back! Along with Ty and Andrew, we talk about some of the protests we have seen and attended so far and try to process the rapid-fire, emotionally-charged succession of news and new developments. Pretty sure it's mentioned in the episode, but in addition to his brilliant articulation of this as a true American revolution (unlike that bourgeoisie shit in our first try), his frank commentary directed toward white Americans in other racial situations has been personally helpful and shifted how I think about a lot. We largely avoid the 'rona talk in this one. Andrew talks us through the difference between the real world and the one of conservative fiction, we revel a bit in the glorious 'Murica-ness of the recent "Greywater" operation in Venezuela, and cover a bit of the infuriating and unjust timeline of the Ahmaud Arbery.

We mostly around the events in Michigan, but delve a bit into the anti-isolation protests at large, break down some of the issues of State/Federal authority, and try to find some good faith in all of these actions. We don't, so we move on to doing back Nickelback impressions and decide that no one has ever been hornier than Chad Kroeger. We’re joined by history professor, whiskey drinker, and all around brilliant guy, Joshua Pollock and in addition to hearing some direct accounts of the Hong Kong demonstrations of 2019 took a deep dive into the deeper context surrounding China, Hong Kong, the influence of Lee Kuan Yew on China after Mao, and oh so much more. It was a very fun conversation, but Josh also relayed an incredible amount of dense information and analysis in a wonderfully digestible way.
