Dr. Kimmy is a double Board Certified Pediatric Hospitalist, CEO of The Doctor Coach School™️, and host of The Doctor Coach School™ Podcast. This podcast was created in order to help doctors, particularly women doctors of color, create, market, and confidently sell transformational coaching programs. Dr. Kimmy first built her business as a Procrastination Coach in 2019, helping professional women break the cycle of self-sabotage so that they could level up their lives, after she was able to push through procrastination and develop systems and processes to overcome her own overwhelm. She built a multi 6-figure coaching business from scratch and while working full time. Dr. Kimmy then began helping women doctors master their messaging and learn how to sell. She was able to help several of her clients develop thriving coaching businesses and sell high-ticket, high-impact coaching. This led to the creation of The Doctor Coach School™️. In DCS, Dr. Kimmy recognizes that the very tools that she developed to coach herself and her clients are also effective to market and sell. My body told me to rest in December, but I pushed forward anyway, and my fatigue caught up with me by the second launch date.I shouldn't have done that launch in December.     Do you have an in-demand offer or do you have coaching sessions?

    Do you know the difference between an in-demand coaching offer and coaching sessions? If the leading point of your sales pitch starts with a specific number of sessions or a concrete timeframe, that is not an offer. Coaching sessions do not create demand. You have created a commodity, not a transformation, so you won't achieve brand awareness, loyalty, or urgency. A package of coaching sessions doesn't showcase a clear path to results. To be a 6-figure doctor coach, you need an offer that people hear and then immediately want. When someone pays for coaching, they are buying a result. An in-demand offer encourages belief and movement because the transformation is clear and certain.In today's episode, I give three reasons why selling sessions does not work.     Self-mastery directly impacts your bottom line. In this episode, I compare two examples of sales calls to compare the difference that internal mastery makes in the efficacy of your pitch. In each scenario, I talk you through the three simultaneous thoughts a client needs to have if you want to convert a sales call into a purchased coaching offer.The very first person you have to know how to coach is you. You master your brain; you master your messaging. You do not need to follow a sales script. You don't have to pay for a marketing package. If you aren't successful on sales calls, it is because of something going on internally with you. Your emotions prevent you from moving that potential client into the pocket of belief.When you can effectively diagnose and treat what is happening in your brain, you can then diagnose what is happening with your client and offer them that treatment plan. You can't do that if you're in a fight, flight, freeze, or appease mode. If you are struggling with sales calls, this episode is for you.     My 2024 Year in Review

    2024 was the best and worst year of my professional life. In today's episode, I share my yearly business review and recap what happened in Q4.This year had its ups and downs. My love for God, my passion for coaching, and my love for my clients sustained me through some of the toughest challenges I have ever endured in my business. I had a failed launch, publicly denounced my sorority, and members of my team who have been with me since the start of business resigned—all within the space of a few months.But, the biggest takeaway and the best thing that happened in 2024 was developing a deep and intimate relationship with God. I can now say that I know the Lord. Seeking God's will allowed me to take my emotions off the table and really figure out what needed to be done in my business to bring it to the next level.I overcame those struggles in my business and now have three strong and amazing offers.     If your prices are too low, you are doing a disservice to your clients. Your worth as a child of God is priceless. Your worth as a human is separate from the value of the transformation you provide as a doctor coach.When you price based on worth, it can feel like people are saying no to you or rejecting you when they don't buy your offer and get success in your program. You need to price based on your ability to get a person from point A to point B and take that transformation and the skills they learned along the way with them for life.Clients don't buy into low-priced offers because they don't have skin in the game. It is easier for them to walk away from coaching that feels new, scary, or hard. But when you price your offers high, they feel like they have to do the work to make the investment worthwhile.Do not let your limiting beliefs control your pricing model. I don't care what else is happening in the world; you need to find a coach and a therapist right now. In this season, so much harm is going to be done. It is going to take decades to undo the damage. But with these four things, you will survive, primarily through the doctor and coaching lens.Nothing will happen to you or your family without God's permissive will.Do not isolate. Find community and lean into that support.Intellectual property is everything.     The Collective Delusion Of America Part 1: Preparing for What is to Come

    Now that I have had time to process my thoughts and emotions post-election, I wanted to start the conversation about dealing with the next four years.Right now, we are in a weird transition time where we feel a storm coming; we are anticipating the hurt and destruction but are stuck in limbo since it hasn't hit yet. Since election day, I have cycled through all the stages of grief and am finally now in a place where I am ready to go back into service and control what I can control. America survives on hope. We live in a collective delusion to stay safe. But now that the country has decisively elected a criminal, rapist, and morally bankrupt President, that cycle of delusion is broken. The cards are all laid out on the table, and it is clear that America is deeply, deeply racist.That omittance has made me feel powerful. Now that the truth is no longer hiding behind our perpetual and collective delusion, it has validated everything I have thought and felt. Over the past week, I have experienced everything from guttural rage to profound sadness and unexpected joy, and I am choosing to allow myself to feel however I want without guilt.     Where Do We Go From Here?

    Today, I want to discuss next steps now that the presidential election has passed. We are all struggling with various stages of grief, anger, and denial. So I pose this question: Where do we go from here?I am speaking to black women, specifically black women doctors, when I say the answer is go wherever you want to go and do whatever feels good. Jesus said that if you are doing it for the least of these, you are doing it for me. And one thing this election has shown us is the most disrespected, the most stepped on, and the most unappreciated people in this country and in this world are black women. So whatever you want to do, I encourage you to do. For some that might mean doing nothing, relaxing, and reflecting on where we are and what may come to pass. For others that might mean pouring yourself into those that God has put you on this Earth to serve. Whatever you decide, I want you to know that is okay.     “A Tale of Two Launches”

    Today, I compare two of my recent launches: Audacious Women and IPMD. My process for launches has been the same for years. So why was one launch an incredible success while the other didn't bring in any sales?Audacious Women was a great offer. My messaging was on point, and the launch was amazing. But I didn't make a single sale. That failure brought me down, and I didn't understand why.Fast-forward to the launch of IPMD, and I sold an offer within a few days. My results were drastically better, and my mindset was the differentiating factor.When we sell coaching, we tend to put the onus on the client. If they don't buy an offer, it's easy to say that they just weren't ready, couldn't afford it, or weren't the right fit. But the truth is, they didn't buy it because they didn't feel safe. If you don't properly build a bridge between your client and their transformation or if you don't give them the confidence that transformation is possible, you failed. These negative experiences have colored the way we think about selling. Today, I explain why I think about sales differently. This episode was inspired by a sales call I had with a client. She voiced objections about joining DCS. At that moment I could have run away. Instead, I challenged the way her brain was thinking. I pushed. I embraced being salesy.Many coaches are afraid to respond to objections. They don't want to offend, so instead of calling a client out, they retreat. Objections aren't roadblocks, they are opportunities to shift belief. A coach who can navigate objections is a coach who can truly make a difference because no one wants to hire a coach who is afraid to say the hard thing.Your reluctance to be salesly is holding you back from being the coach that delivers high-value transformation to clients. Beating around the bush isn't going to overcome objections, and it isn't serving your people. You have to learn to be okay leaning into the energy of being salesy in service to them.It's time to stop running from being salesy. It's time to stop running from selling. It's time to stop being scared of using the word sales call.As a coach, the goal is to help someone shift their beliefs and show them that transformation is possible. Two doctors chose to take their own lives, and not only is this a devastating situation, but a reminder of how much change needs to happen in the medical world so that doctors can feel comfortable seeking help for their mental health.For the rest of today's episode, I pick up the conversation recapping the 3rd quarter in my business. Sometimes, though, that means experiencing discomfort. Today, I share three examples of how beliefs, or lack of belief, directly impact your sales. Building belief is a revenue-generating activity. When you are on a sales call, and your potential client's cavewoman starts throwing out objections, you have to be dialed in and let your abiding certainty take over.Success as a coach isn't really about marketing. It's about your message and getting it to the people needing your help. When you really know who your person is and how you can serve them, you will be able to overcome objections and sign offers because you know your solution will radically transform the person on the other end of that sales call.Belief is the foundation of sales, and the examples I give today show why that is true so you can see for yourself how discomfort and objections are addressed in DCS. Your lack of belief will kill your revenue.
