Most business owners understand the importance of confidentiality during a sale process. What many do not fully appreciate is just how fragile that confidentiality can be once the business is taken to market. A single conversation, unusual document request, or shift in behavior can create concern among employees, uncertainty among customers, and speculation among vendors or competitors. And once uncertainty enters the picture, business value can begin eroding long before a transaction ever closes. In this episode, Greg Kovsky joins Pat Ennis and Walter Deyhle to discuss how business owners can explore a sale while protecting the relationships and stability that make their company valuable in the first place. Drawing on more than three decades of M&A experience and over 300 completed transactions, Greg shares practical insights into confidentiality, buyer screening, information control, and the realities of taking a business to market without creating unnecessary disruption. Whether you're considering a sale in the near future or simply want to understand how the process works, this conversation provides valuable perspective on preserving trust, protecting value, and maintaining leverage throughout the transaction process. In This Episode, We Discuss:What "selling in stealth mode" actually means in practiceWhy confidentiality is critical to preserving business valueCommon mistakes that unintentionally expose a sale processHow experienced advisors screen potential buyersThe role and limitations of non-disclosure agreements (NDAs)When employees, customers, and vendors should be informedHow to protect key relationships during due diligenceWhat a well-managed confidential sale process looks likePractical advice for owners considering a future saleGuest Gregory KovskyPresident & CEO, International Business Associates (IBA) Greg is President & CEO of International Business Associates, the Pacific Northwest's oldest and largest business brokerage firm. In this episode, Melissa Jones offers encouragement for parents navigating the difficult moments when their daughter doubts herself, gives up easily, or struggles to see her own capability.Melissa explores why confidence often does not look the way parents expect it to. She reminds parents that their role is not to force confidence or fix the struggle, but to stay steady and supportive while their daughter works through it.With compassion and reassurance, Melissa shares why growth is often happening beneath the surface, even when parents cannot immediately see it.Tune in to discover:Why self-doubt is often part of the confidence-building processHow to respond when your daughter says “I can't”Why staying calm and steady matters more than having the perfect wordsHow confidence develops through small steps over timeEncouragement for parents supporting daughters through hard momentsThis episode is a reminder that confidence is not built all at once. If your content sounds like everyone else's and your sales feel slower than they should, this episode is going to call out exactly why. In this episode of The Real Truth About Business podcast, I'm breaking down how downplaying your unique selling point is quietly hurting your business strategy and revenue growth. This is for service-based entrepreneurs who are blending in, using generic titles, and wondering why their offers aren't standing out in a crowded market. After 9 years of experience, I can tell you this isn't about needing better tactics. It's about owning what actually makes you different. Inside this episode, I walk you through how your background, experience, and perspective are the key drivers of your sales process, and why trying to “fit in” is costing you clients. What You'll Learn:Why your unique selling point is critical for business growthHow downplaying your experience impacts your conversion rateThe difference between generic positioning and differentiated messagingHow to use your background to strengthen your pricing strategyWhy sounding like everyone else is slowing your sales processHow to stand out in a saturated, AI-driven marketEpisode Highlights:[00:00] Introduction: The problem with trying to fit in[02:00] Michelle's realization about her true positioning[05:00] Why your background is your biggest differentiator[07:30] Client example: content strategist vs. revenue strategist[09:30] Selling yourself vs. selling deliverables[11:00] Why generic messaging is hurting your salesKey Takeaways:Fitting In Is Costing You SalesHere's what I see constantly. Service-based entrepreneurs trying to label themselves in a way that feels familiar, safe, and easy to understand. After 9 years of working with business owners, I can tell you this is one of the fastest ways to blend into the noise. When you call yourself the same thing as everyone else, your audience has no reason to choose you. Your business strategy becomes interchangeable. And when that happens, your pricing strategy and sales process both get harder.Because now the only thing left to compete on is price or personality.Your Background Is Your Biggest AdvantageThe thing that makes you different is not something you need to create. It already exists.Your past experience. Your previous career. The way you think. The lens you bring into your work. That is your unique selling point.Inside the Focused Visionary Framework, this directly impacts all three pillars. Your positioning affects your pricing, your pipeline, and your sales process. If you're not clearly communicating what makes you different, your entire system weakens.Stop Selling Deliverables. Start Selling PerspectiveOne of the biggest mistakes I see is people listing what they do instead of how they think.Features. Deliverables. Packages. That's not what people buy.People buy the way you solve problems. They buy your perspective. They buy how you approach business strategy and revenue growth. When you lead with that, your messaging becomes stronger. Your audience connects faster. Your conversion rate improves because they understand why you specifically are the right fit.Generic Messaging Is Slowing Down Your GrowthWe are in a market where everything sounds the same.AI-generated content. Recycled strategies. Copy-paste messaging. And it's creating hesitation in buyers. When your content sounds like everyone else's, buyers take longer to decide. Your buyer journey gets longer. Your pipeline slows down.Differentiation is what speeds that up.You Don't Need a Better Title. You Need Better PositioningIt's not about finding the perfect title. It's about owning what makes you different and being willing to explain it.When you use language that actually reflects your expertise, people lean in. They get curious. They want to understand more. That's what drives conversations. That's what drives sales. And that's what creates real business growth.Resources MentionedSubscribe to Back Pocket Insights for FREEBook a CEO Strategy Call Learn more about The Missing Piece IntensiveLearn more about The Focused Visionary AcceleratorDownload the FREE Lead and Conversion TrackerSubscribe to the Sunday Morning Brew NewsletterAbout the Host:Michelle DeNio is a business strategist based in Sarasota, Florida, specializing in helping service-based entrepreneurs break through revenue plateaus using her Focused Visionary Framework. Most leaders are measuring the wrong thing in recruiting. They look at one number. Did someone join… or not? And when that is your only scoreboard, recruiting becomes frustrating, emotional, and inconsistent. You can have a great week and feel like you are losing. You can do everything right and feel like nothing is working. In this episode of Recruiting Conversations, I break down how to measure recruiting the right way—so you can build consistency, confidence, and momentum. Because here is the truth. You do not control hires. You influence them. Episode Breakdown [00:00] The Core Problem Most leaders only measure outcomes. But outcomes are delayed. And when you only track hires, you lose visibility into what is actually working. The Metrics That Actually Matter [01:30] 1. New Conversations Started This is your top of funnel. Calls Messages Voice notes Coffee meetings Not passive activity. Real conversations. If this number is low, everything downstream suffers. [01:55] 2. Meaningful Follow-Ups This is where pipelines are built or broken. Not just checking in. Sharing insight Referencing past conversations Sending something relevant This is how relationships deepen. [02:15] 3. Second Conversations This is one of the strongest indicators of momentum. If people are willing to talk to you again, something is working. If they are not, fix your first conversation before worrying about closing. [02:35] 4. Vision Conversations This is where recruiting becomes real. Where are they going? What do they want? What are you building? This is where alignment happens. Most leaders rush this or skip it entirely. [02:55] 5. Opportunities Created This is when someone says: I am open to exploring this further Not committed. Not closed. But open. If you are creating opportunities, hires will follow. [03:15] 6. Time and Process How long are people staying in your pipeline? Are you losing them due to lack of follow-up? Are you rushing and creating pressure? Are you guiding them through a clear sequence? This reveals whether your system is working or breaking. [03:35] The Mindset Shift Stop asking: How many people did I hire? Start asking: How many new conversations did I start? How many meaningful follow-ups did I execute? How many second conversations did I earn? How many vision conversations did I lead? How many opportunities did I create? Those are controllable. Those are measurable. Those are what drive results. [04:00] What Changes When You Track This You stop riding the emotional rollercoaster You start seeing real progress You identify breakdowns faster You coach yourself and your team with clarity You move from guessing to managing a system And when activity is right, results follow. Maybe not immediately. But consistently. Key Takeaways Hires Are a Lagging Indicator – They reflect past activity, not current effort Activity Drives Results – Focus on what you can control Top-of-Funnel Matters Most – Conversations create everything downstream Follow-Up Builds Momentum – Pipelines grow through consistency Clarity Beats Emotion – Metrics remove guesswork and frustration Recruiting Is a System – When you track the right things, growth becomes predictable Here is the shift. You stop measuring luck. And you start measuring leadership. Want Help Building a Recruiting Scorecard? Denise Chapman Weston is a Playologist, therapist, inventor, and deeply imaginative thinker whose life has been shaped by a promise she made to herself as a child: never stop playing. In Part 1 of this conversation, Denise shares the origin story behind that promise. Growing up in Chicago with a Shriner clown for a father, she was surrounded by humour, imagination, and a sense that life did not have to be taken too seriously. But at around six years old, she felt something begin to shift. As children move towards adulthood, magical thinking often starts to fade. Standing on her bed and looking into the mirror, Denise made a serious promise to herself that she would never fully let go of play. That promise became a through-line in her life. Denise went on to work as a therapist, specialising in play therapy, before becoming an inventor with more than 150 patents. She describes invention as a process of both retreating inward and returning outward — noodling, wallowing, absorbing information, then testing ideas in the world to see whether they create connection.A central theme of this episode is Denise's belief that technology should not replace human connection, but serve it. While many people see technology and AI as something to fear, Denise sees them as a kind of magic — powerful tools that need wisdom, intention, and human-centred design. Her “magic campfire” invention reflects this philosophy: a technology-enabled gathering place designed to bring people together, amplify storytelling, and create belonging. At its heart, this episode is about childhood imagination, creative courage, invention, and what it means to stay connected to the playful, curious, possibility-filled parts of ourselves. It is the story of how Denise became Denise — and why she believes play, technology, and human connection are far more intertwined than we might think. In This EpisodeThe promise Denise made to herself at six years old to never stop playingHow growing up with a Shriner clown for a father shaped her imaginationWhat it means to be a PlayologistHow Denise moved from therapy and play therapy into inventionWhy noodling and wallowing are part of her creative processHow she thinks about solitude, belonging, and idea developmentWhy Denise sees technology and AI as magic, not something to fearThe idea behind her “magic campfire” inventionWhy she believes technology should serve human connection, not replace itHow play, imagination, invention, and wisdom all connectChapters00:00 Denise on the promise she made to never stop playing01:52 Welcome to Denise's extraordinary home02:16 Growing up in Chicago with a Shriner clown for a dad04:55 The promise Denise made to herself at six years old08:02 What it means to live a bountiful life09:55 Belonging, solitude, and the creative process12:57 Wallowing, noodling, and invention15:12 How Denise gets in and out of her own head19:38 What she would tell her 25-year-old self21:03 What it means to be a Playologist23:20 Why Denise sees technology as magic25:59 AI, wisdom, and the human side of technology31:08 The magic campfire invention38:15 Why technology should connect people to people40:42 Reclaiming what it means to be humanGuest BioDenise Chapman Weston is a Playologist, therapist, inventor, author, and Adjunct Professor at Purdue University. In Part 2 of this special mini‑series, Farley takes the lead as David Rudd (Steven Burton & Co) and Benjamin Jerome (Holmes & Hills Solicitors) return to dig deeper into what real value looks like in professional services and why it goes far beyond charging by the hour or minute. This episode explores how accountants and solicitors can deliver meaningful, long‑term results by focusing on relationships, clarity, and horizon‑scanning rather than transactional billing. David and Ben share how an enquiry or initial conversation isn't a “freebie”, it's a vital tool for understanding the client, spotting risks early, and building the trust needed to do the job properly. In this episode, they discuss:Why they don't charge by the hour — and how fixed‑fee, value‑based work benefits clientsThe importance of explaining the result, not the processHow early conversations uncover problems before they become expensive mistakesWhy long‑term thinking (horizon scanning) protects clients financially and legallyHow strong relationships lead to better outcomes, smoother communication, and long‑term loyaltyThe unseen value: saving clients money, preventing issues, and ensuring tasks are done correctly the first timeThis is an honest, practical conversation for small business owners who want to understand what they're really paying for and why choosing the right accountant or solicitor can be one of the most important decisions they make.Perfect for anyone who wants to work smarter with their professional advisors, build stronger relationships, and get better long‑term resultsSupport the show
If you're questioning your pricing or wondering why people hesitate to say yes, this episode is going to change how you think about your entire business strategy. In this episode of The Real Truth About Business podcast, I'm breaking down the real psychology behind pricing and why buyers actually make decisions. This is for service-based entrepreneurs who are stuck at a revenue plateau, unsure if their pricing strategy is helping or hurting their business growth. After 9 years of experience, I can tell you pricing is not just about picking a number. It's about how that number is perceived, processed, and positioned in your sales process. Inside this episode, I walk you through nine key pricing psychology principles and how they directly impact your conversion rate, your lead generation, and your overall revenue growth. This is about aligning your pricing with how buyers actually think so your offers feel like an obvious yes. What You'll Learn:Why higher pricing can sometimes increase conversionsHow to use pricing psychology to strengthen your business strategyThe role of positioning and messaging in pricing perceptionHow payment structures impact buyer decision-makingWhy buyers hesitate and how to reduce friction in your sales processHow to align your pricing with your brand and ideal clientEpisode Highlights:[00:00] Introduction: Why pricing psychology matters for business growth[03:00] Price vs. perceived value and the quality signal[08:00] Anchoring and how buyers interpret your pricing before they see it[13:00] Framing your price: cost vs. investment[18:00] Payment psychology and reducing buyer resistance[23:00] Loss aversion and the cost of staying stuck[27:00] Tiered pricing, decoy effect, and buyer decision patterns[31:00] Odd vs. rounded pricing and brand positioningKey Takeaways:Pricing Is Perception, Not Just a NumberHere's what I see constantly. Business owners picking a price based on what feels comfortable or what others are charging. But pricing strategy is not just about math. It's about perception. After 9 years of working with service-based entrepreneurs, I can tell you buyers use price as a shortcut to determine value. Especially when what you sell is intangible. Strategy, expertise, transformation. There's nothing to hold or test. That means your pricing is signaling something before you ever get on a sales call. Whether you realize it or not, your price is part of your positioning.Your Positioning Sets the Stage Before Price Even MattersInside the Focused Visionary Framework, Pricing, Pipeline, and Sales are all connected. Pricing doesn't exist in isolation. It sits on top of your messaging and your positioning. This is where anchoring comes in. Everything your audience sees before they ever hear your price sets the expectation. Your content, your results, your authority. That's the anchor. If your positioning is strong, your price feels obvious. If it's weak, the same number feels expensive. This is why focusing only on pricing without addressing messaging rarely works.Buyer Decisions Are Driven by Psychology, Not LogicBuyers don't just evaluate numbers. They react to how those numbers are presented.Breaking a price into monthly payments reduces resistance. Framing something as an investment changes how it's processed. Showing the cost of staying stuck can be more powerful than highlighting potential gains. These are not manipulation tactics. This is understanding how the brain works. When you align your sales process with these patterns, you remove friction. You make it easier for your ideal client to say yes.Your Pricing Strategy Should Match Your Brand and GoalsOne of the biggest mistakes I see is misalignment. Pricing that doesn't match the brand, the offer, or the level of expertise.Odd pricing can signal accessibility or discounts. Rounded pricing can signal confidence and premium positioning. Tiered pricing can guide decisions without forcing them. But none of it works if it's not intentional.Your pricing strategy should support your revenue growth goals, attract the right clients, and align with how you want your business to be perceived. That's where real business strategy comes in. Not just picking a number. But building a system where pricing, positioning, and sales all work together.Resources MentionedSubscribe to Back Pocket Insights for FREEBook a CEO Strategy Call Learn more about The Missing Piece IntensiveLearn more about The Focused Visionary AcceleratorDownload the FREE Lead and Conversion TrackerSubscribe to the Sunday Morning Brew NewsletterAbout the Host:Michelle DeNio is a business strategist based in Sarasota, Florida, specializing in helping service-based entrepreneurs break through revenue plateaus using her Focused Visionary Framework. In this episode, I'm talking about why obsessing over the end result can actually pull you further away from the progress you want. I see this so often with my clients.Obsessing over the end result and not focusing enough on the small wins or daily tasks. It is good to have goals. It is good to have a vision and a plan. But so often, we get so focused on where we want to be that we lose sight of what actually gets us there: the actions we take today.Real progress is not built in one perfect week or one big breakthrough moment. It is built in the small choices, habits, and decisions that happen over and over again. This is your reminder that you do not need to have the whole journey figured out today. You do not need to be at the end already. You just need to stay focused on what is in front of you, keep showing up and keep distractions minimal. If you have been overthinking your progress, putting too much pressure on the outcome, or struggling to stay present in your journey, this episode will help you come back to what actually matters: today. In this episode, we cover:Why goals matter, but daily action is what creates resultsHow body recomposition and lasting progress are built one day at a timeWhy obsessing over the finish line can leave you overwhelmed or disconnected from the processHow social media can pull you out of the present moment and make you question your own pathHow to come back to the next right step and trust what you are buildingLinks/Resources:SHOP UFYF merchandiseGrab your FREE Body Recomp Meal Prep and get the UFYF NewsletterSHOP Kion - my favorite Protein, EAA's and Creatine!Listen to the Girls with Opinions PodcastJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymJoin PRIVATE COACHING, my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcastJoin my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi! Get the Divorce Crash Course and grab your Balance Sheet Template here!Struggling to get what you want in your divorce? You're not alone—and the problem may not be what you're asking for, but how you're negotiating. In this mini episode of How Not to Suck at Divorce, Andrea Rappaport and Morgan Stogsdill break down one of the most common (and costly) mistakes people make during divorce negotiations—and how to fix it.Using a real-life example of “Chad and Brenda,” they explain why disorganized settlement proposals, scattered responses, and multiple documents can quickly derail progress, increase stress, and cost you time and money. You'll learn how to stay aligned in negotiations, keep proposals clear, and use simple visual tools—like structured documents and balance sheets—to track progress and make smarter decisions. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:How to negotiate effectively in divorceWhy responding within the same proposal structure mattersThe biggest mistake people make in settlement negotiationsHow to avoid confusion and “losing track” during back-and-forth offersWhy using one document or balance sheet can simplify the entire processHow visual organization can reduce stress and improve outcomes KEY TAKEAWAY:Divorce negotiations aren't just about what you ask for—they're about how clearly and strategically you communicate. When everything is organized in one place, you make better decisions, avoid unnecessary conflict, and move the process forward more efficiently. If your offers feel harder to sell than they used to, even though you haven't changed much, this episode is going to shift how you think about your entire business strategy. In this episode of The Real Truth About Business podcast, I'm walking you through how positioning impacts everything from your messaging to your sales process to your revenue growth. This is for service-based entrepreneurs who are stuck at a revenue plateau and questioning why their offers aren't landing the same way anymore. After 9 years of experience, I can tell you this is rarely about needing a brand new offer. It's about how your current offers are positioned in the market. Inside this episode, I'm sharing exactly how I rebuilt my entire offer ecosystem, what triggered the shift, and how you can evaluate your own positioning so your business growth becomes aligned, clear, and scalable. What You'll Learn:What positioning actually means in your business strategyWhy your offers may not be selling even if they're “good”How to identify misalignment between your messaging and your ideal clientThe role positioning plays in your pricing strategy and sales processHow to rebuild your offer ecosystem without starting from scratchHow to use positioning to break through a revenue plateauEpisode Highlights:[00:00] Introduction: Why positioning is the foundation of your business[03:00] What triggered the need to rebuild the offer ecosystem[07:00] Signs your positioning is no longer aligned[11:00] How messaging, offers, and clients evolve together[16:00] Reworking the offer ecosystem without burning it down[22:00] The impact of positioning on sales and revenue growth[28:00] Practical steps to evaluate and adjust your positioningKey Takeaways:Positioning Drives Everything in Your BusinessHere's what I see constantly. Business owners trying to fix results by tweaking tactics. More content. Different platforms. New lead generation strategies. But the real issue is positioning. After 9 years of working with service-based entrepreneurs, I can tell you positioning is what determines how your offers are perceived, who they attract, and how easily they sell. It influences your pricing strategy, your messaging, your pipeline, and your sales process. If your positioning is off, everything feels harder. If it's aligned, everything clicks.Your Offers Don't Need to Be Rebuilt. They Need to Be RepositionedOne of the biggest misconceptions is that when something isn't selling, you need a brand new offer. That's rarely the case.More often, your offer is fine. But it's positioned for a version of your client that you've outgrown or that no longer exists in the same way. Your messaging might be speaking to old problems. Your sales process might not match how your current buyers make decisions.Inside the Focused Visionary Framework, this is where Pricing, Pipeline, and Sales all intersect. When positioning shifts, all three pillars need to be realigned.Misalignment Shows Up as Friction in SalesIf you're having to over-explain your offer, justify your pricing, or constantly convince people, that's a positioning issue. When your positioning is clear, your audience understands exactly what you do, who it's for, and why it matters. Your sales process becomes simpler. Your conversion rate improves. Your business growth becomes more predictable. This is the difference between pushing for sales and having demand.Rebuilding Your Offer Ecosystem Requires Strategy, Not ReactionWhen I rebuilt my offer ecosystem, it wasn't about scrapping everything and starting over. It was about looking at what was working, what wasn't, and where the gaps were. This is CEO-level strategic planning. You look at your offers as a system. How they connect. How they move people through your pipeline. How they support your revenue growth goals. Then you adjust positioning, messaging, and structure to match where your business is now. That's how you scale sustainably without constantly reinventing your business.Resources MentionedBook a CEO Strategy Call Learn more about The Missing Piece IntensiveLearn more about The Focused Visionary AcceleratorJoin Back Pocket InsightsDownload the FREE Lead and Conversion TrackerSubscribe to the Sunday Morning Brew NewsletterAbout the Host:Michelle DeNio is a business strategist based in Sarasota, Florida, specializing in helping service-based entrepreneurs break through revenue plateaus using her Focused Visionary Framework. What if the thing that helps you stay vegan isn't more willpower, more discipline, or a more perfect plan? This week we talk about resilience — not as a trait you either have or don't, but as something you build. Just like a muscle. After a stretch of medical challenges left me feeling deconditioned and frustrated, I found myself back with much lighter weights than I used to lift. And that experience reminded me of something I see all the time in vegan and plant-based change: people don't usually fail because they don't care enough. They struggle because they try to lift too much, too soon.If you've ever told yourself you should be further along by now… if you've started over more times than you can count… if you've made a setback mean you're weak, inconsistent, or not cut out for this, this episode is for you.We talk about why resilience matters more than perfection, why smaller changes are often the smarter strategy, and how supporting yourself through the wobble is what actually helps you build a practice that lasts. In this episode:Why resilience is more useful than relying on willpowerHow vegan change works a lot like strength training Why all-or-nothing thinking keeps us stuckWhat it means to lower the bar without giving up the goalHow small wins build confidence, trust, and momentumWhy getting off track is not failure — it is part of the processHow your vegan practice can strengthen the way you handle challenges in every part of lifeIf you've been trying to do this the hard way, let this be your reminder: you do not need to start at the advanced level. You need to start where you are, build from there, and learn how to come back when things get messy.Resilience - that's your vegan muscle. Strengthening it will power a whole lot more than what's on your plate or the weight rack.Subscribe & Review:If you enjoyed this episode, please subscribe and leave a review on your favorite podcast platform. Are high-ticket offers taking months to close or getting stuck in endless sales calls?Debbie Allen has built a system that flips that process. Instead of chasing prospects or relying on long follow-ups, the focus shifts to how the offer is positioned, presented, and experienced in real time.In this episode, Debbie breaks down how one client sold a $100K offer in just a few hours by restructuring the message and removing friction from the buying process. The same approach replaces tire kickers with serious buyers and creates demand before the sales conversation even begins. This conversation explores what actually makes people ready to spend at a high level, why most experts undercharge, and how live environments can accelerate trust and decision-making faster than traditional funnels. If you want to understand how high-ticket offers can move faster without adding more steps, this episode walks through the structure behind it.What You'll Learn:Why high-ticket offers get stuck in long sales cyclesHow $100K offers can sell in hours instead of monthsWhat changes when you remove sales calls from the processHow live environments create faster buying decisionsThe structure behind Debbie Allen's Throwout OfferWhy most experts undercharge and miss higher-value buyersWhat makes an audience ready to spend at a higher levelIf high-ticket offers are getting stuck in long sales cycles or attracting the wrong buyers, this episode breaks down where the gap starts and how to reposition your offer for faster decisions.Learn more from Debbie Allen and the Throwout Offer approach:Website: https://debbieallen.com/Connect with Debbie Allen for more on stage selling and high-ticket offers:https://www.linkedin.com/in/debbie-allen-throwoutofferSubscribe for more conversations on how experts turn knowledge into revenue:https://www.youtube.com/@GarlicMarketingShowIf you want access to the 50% promotion Debbie mentioned, comment below or reply if you received this by email, and we'll send you the details.Resources:● Connect with Ian● Download a Tackle Box!● Supercharge your marketing and grow your business with video case stories today!● Subscribe to the YouTube Channel Hosted on Acast. With the right tools, you can use that information to refine what works best for your body.In this video, you'll learn:Why “ketosis interruptions” are normal and part of the processHow mindset plays a critical role in long-term successSimple strategies to return to ketosis quickly, including fasting and exerciseHow food choices can support appetite regulation and metabolic stabilityThe role of supplements like exogenous ketones and their limitationsWhy personalization is key to sustainable metabolic healthDr. Ede also explains the underlying physiology of ketosis: how insulin, glucose, and stored glycogen influence your body's ability to shift back into fat-burning mode. The key takeaway: consistency matters, but perfection isn't required. With the right approach, you can recover quickly, learn from the experience, and continue moving forward.
Welcome back to Truth, Lies & Work, the award-winning workplace podcast where behavioural science meets workplace culture. This week, we're diving into the high-stakes world of recruitment. If you've ever hired someone who looked perfect on paper but failed on day one, this episode is for you. Most businesses are making hiring decisions based on fundamentally broken data: the CV. This week, we are joined by Kate Young, Head of People Science at Sapia.ai. As an occupational psychologist, Kate is on a mission to move recruitment away from "gut instinct" and toward a valid, fair, and defensible science. We dive into the "painful" reality of traditional job analysis—like Kate's 6:00 AM flight to Munich to shuffle cards with 30 stakeholders for eight hours—and how AI has condensed that process into 90 minutes of high-precision data. In this episode, we explore: The Job Analysis Revolution: Why "measuring what matters" is the only way to avoid doubling down on hiring errors. The Death of the CV: Why Sapia.ai prefers "blind" chat interviews where every candidate gets an equal shot to tell their story. De-biasing the Process: How to strip "ableist" and majority-group language out of job descriptions to find the best talent. The "Human in the Loop": Why AI isn't replacing psychologists, but rather acting as an amplifier for better, fairer decisions. Candidate Experience: How an automated process can actually achieve a 9/10 satisfaction rate, even for neurodiverse candidates. Key Takeaways for Leaders: Job Analysis is Non-Negotiable: If you don't define what a person actually does all day (the tasks and behaviors), no hiring tool can save you. Standardization = Fairness: Unstructured interviews default to the "loudest voice in the room." Using the same questions for every candidate is the simplest way to reduce bias. No More Ghosting: Using AI at the top of the funnel allows you to provide feedback to every candidate, protecting your employer brand. In Part 2 of our Reclamation series, Steve and Colleen Adams explore what it looks like to reclaim the parts of our story that were shaped by failure, shame, and consequences. In this deeply personal episode, Steve shares the part of his story he rarely tells publicly — the collapse of a successful real estate business in the 1980s, federal fraud charges, and the prison sentence that followed. For years, the weight of that chapter lingered quietly in the background of his life. Then, decades later, God prompted him to do something unexpected.Go back.Together, Steve and Colleen returned to the federal prison camp where he served his sentence — not as an inmate this time, but as a man who had experienced redemption. What happened there became a powerful moment of reclamation — a reconciling of past, present, and purpose. This conversation explores:How God redeems even the most painful chapters of our storyThe difference between shame and redemptionWhy consequences can become part of God's restoration processHow wounds and failures can shape our callingWhat it means to reclaim the life God originally intendedReclamation isn't about rewriting the past. It's about seeing how God was present in it all along.Chapters00:00 Introduction and Personal Background02:16 The Journey of Reclamation and Writing the Book04:12 Early Life, Success, and the Fall into Crime07:21 Facing Charges and the Impact on Life10:24 The Courtroom and Sentencing Experience12:33 Returning to Prison and Reconciliation15:54 Reflections on God's Mercy and Grace18:39 Visiting Prison and Internal Reconciliation22:37 The Internal Journey of Reclamation26:17 Turning Point and Surrender to God28:21 The Role of God's Word in Healing29:37 God's Continuous Reclamation in Our Lives
In this episode of The Clinical Leadership Podcast, Dr. Alex Earl, DC breaks down one of the most overlooked challenges facing chiropractic students and associate clinicians: understanding what actually needs to be done to responsibly open a clinic. Most chiropractors know that starting a practice involves more than signing a lease and treating patients—but very few have a clear picture of what the full process looks like.In this episode, Dr. Earl simplifies the complexity by introducing the three critical categories every clinic owner must solve before opening their doors:Federal requirementsState requirementsHealthcare and operational requirementsBy organizing the process into these three domains, this episode provides a clear framework for thinking about clinic ownership—and highlights why so many clinicians feel overwhelmed when they try to figure it out on their own.If you're a chiropractic student considering ownership, or an associate chiropractor who knows you're capable of building something of your own, this episode will help you understand the structure behind starting a modern rehab practice.
In the last episode, I sat down with money coach Emilie Nutley to talk about understanding your numbers, paying yourself, and planning your finances like a real business owner. Because once you actually know your numbers, the possibilities for your business start to open up.But today I want to flip the conversation to something that most people don't immediately connect to revenue: your systems. Most creatives think of systems as organization tools. Something that saves time, reduces stress, or keeps things from slipping through the cracks. And while that's true… systems can also directly impact how much money your business actually generates. So in this episode, I'm walking you through three ways your systems can help you generate more revenue this year — without simply trying to book more clients. In this episode, we cover:Why raising your prices becomes easier when your client experience actually supports itHow messy onboarding and inconsistent communication can make photographers hesitate to charge moreThe hidden capacity ceiling that happens when you're manually managing every part of your client processHow structured workflows allow you to serve more clients without increasing your workloadWhy repeat clients are often the fastest path to additional revenueThe simple system touchpoints that turn one booking into referrals, testimonials, and future rebookingsMentioned in This EpisodeEpisode 296 - The Best Financial Strategy for a Sustainable Business is Overflow with Emilie NutleySystems in Session - coliejames.com/systems

Why do accounting firms work 70-80-hour workweeks during tax season, only to lose most of their leads anyway?Kristen McGarr, Founder and CSMO of Adroit Insights, breaks down a practical sales strategy for accountants that stabilizes growth within 30 days. She shares how a four-person accounting firm nearly tripled revenue while reducing weekly workload from 70 to 80 hours down to 50 to 60. Why 70 to 80 percent of leads often fall off during tax season, and how that creates unpredictable revenue cycles that make hiring and forecasting difficultInstead of selling harder, the firm built a simple system that delivered consistent outreach, stronger referrals, and up to 300% growth. This is part three of a series focused on helping accounting firms build predictable revenue without losing control during tax season. What You'll Learn:Why 70–80% of accounting leads fall off during tax seasonHow the sales rollercoaster hurts recurring revenueWhat the “Rule of Doubles” means for follow-up timingWhy most firms use a CRM without having a real sales processHow a 30-day system can stabilize growth and forecastingWhy automation should support people, not replace personalizationHow pipeline visibility builds confidence and reduces overworkWhat changed inside a four-person firm that led to 300% growthLearn More from Kristen McGarrNeed help fixing a CRM that sits unused or building a process that works during tax season? Most therapists are not stuck because they lack insight. They are stuck because insight alone does not create change. In this special replay of a live training with Carolyn Robistow, we unpack Brainspotting basics and explore a bigger question many clinicians are asking right now: how can additional training increase your value without increasing your workload? This conversation is not just about a modality. It is about embodied knowing. The kind of shift that happens in the nervous system first, and shows up later as clarity, relief, or behavior change. Carolyn explains why the goal of Brainspotting is not symptom reduction, not understanding, and not a better reframe. Those may happen, but they are not the target. The target is deeper integration. We also talk about what changes for the therapist. Brainspotting requires a different kind of discipline. Less explaining. Less rescuing. More attunement. More patience. More trust in the client's system to do what it already knows how to do.In this episode, we cover:Why insight does not automatically create change, and what “embodied knowing” actually means in clinical practiceThe three skills clients are practicing during Brainspotting: noticing, observing without managing, and staying curiousThe practitioner shift, including WAIT, why am I talking?, and how the dual attunement frame protects the processHow specialized training like Brainspotting can support sustainability by reducing overfunctioning instead of adding more to your plateIf you have been wondering whether advanced training could be part of a smarter income strategy, this episode will help you think about it in an ethical, grounded way. Not as a quick fix. Not as a shiny tool. But as a way to deepen your clinical impact without burning yourself out.Want to learn more about brainspotting? " The lie is that cruelty equals strength... that harshness is required to be effective... and that suffering is an effective deterrent to immigrants."In this chat We are addressing the killing of Alex Pretti, the unrest unfolding in Minnesota, and what this moment reveals about fear, power, and humanity in America today. This chat isn't about outrage for outrage's sake. It's about the moral cost of violence, the normalization of cruelty, and the responsibility we share when grief is replaced by narratives and slogans.Friend, now is the time to chat candidly about immigration enforcement, due process, protest, and the danger of turning human lives into symbols instead of honoring their dignity. I'm asking us to slow down, sit with the weight of what's happening, and examine how empathy, justice, and moral responsibility must remain central to who we are, even in times of fear and division. We're chatting about:The death of Alex Preti and why grief must come before politicsWhat the Minnesota protests reveal about fear, power, and unrestImmigration enforcement versus human dignity and due processHow cruelty and intimidation are being normalized in AmericaWhy empathy and moral responsibility still matter in hard times This is not light listening. In this podcast, host Greg Voisen sits down with seasoned executive coach and author Kris Girrell to peel back the layers of a phenomenon sweeping through modern society: the rise of the "spiritual but not religious." If you have ever felt like you've outgrown the rigid pews of traditional doctrine or felt a "dark night of the soul" burning away your old certainties, this conversation is your roadmap. Kris discusses his provocative book, Spiritually Homeless, exploring why so many people are jettisoning inherited beliefs to find a more authentic, direct connection with the divine. Are you truly letting go, or just checking out? How do you distinguish between the ego's chatter and the soul's whisper? Greg and Kris dive deep into the "unselfing" process, the necessity of embracing mystery over certainty, and how to find a new kind of community when you no longer fit in the old one. This episode isn't just about leaving a building; it's about arriving at your true self. What You Will Learn By tuning into this episode, listeners will gain insights into: - The Developmental Shift: Why maturing as an adult often forces us out of "black and white" religious thinking into a more complex, nuanced spirituality. - The "Unselfing" Process: How to dismantle the power of the ego to allow the "Big Self" (the soul) to emerge. - Navigating the Dark Night: Understanding that spiritual pain is often a "purification fire" designed to burn away old, inherited beliefs. - Integration of Awe: How to process profound "spot-weld moments" of oneness and integrate them into a non-religious daily life. - The Power of Unknowing: Why letting go of the need for answers—and even the questions themselves—is a vital spiritual tool. Today, we're sharing a preview of the kinds of conversations we have during our monthly First Fridays group calls inside our paid Going Places members' community. You'll hear from our paid members Dr. Anu Taranath, a University of Washington professor and lecturer on human rights, who wrote a book called Beyond Guilt Trips: Mindful Travel in an Unequal World, and Dee Flower, a former park ranger and author of Where the Wind Wills, an adventure-driven travel memoir. Our paid members come from all walks of life, but what unites them is a shared passion for travel, equality, and moving through the world as aware and engaged citizens of it. At the beginning of every month, we get together to discuss the projects we're working on, get support with personal or professional challenges, and simply be in community with one another, an act we do not take lightly in our increasingly isolated world.Going Places is an audience-supported platform.
