On this week's Keeping the “Live” in Alive segment of The Debbie Nigro Show, I was joined by my longtime gal pal (though we've never actually met in person!) Linda Arroz, who's on an inspiring new mission in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linda is helping raise funds for a short social impact film called Awakening Georgie — a powerful narrative about the hidden struggles of traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors and the miracles that can come from compassion. “Thirty percent of injury-related deaths in the U.S. are caused by a traumatic brain injury. That's a lot. We need to talk about this,” Linda shared passionately. The project is backed by Emmy Award-winning director Jerry Scherer and filmmaker Akiva Penaloza, and it sheds light on a journey many families face but few openly discuss. To make it happen, they've teamed up with CauseMatch, a platform that pairs creators with nonprofits so fundraising becomes not just doable, but also tax-deductible for donors. Linda also spotlighted another story of resilience — the book In the Face of Catastrophe, written by Jennifer Rose Goldman and her mother, after Jennifer suffered a sudden brain bleed just before her 31st birthday. Against all odds, she's fighting her way back, one determined step at a time. Our conversation kept circling back to one big word: compassion. “You'd be surprised how many people just need someone to care,” Linda said. And she's right — sometimes the simplest act of kindness is the miracle someone needs to move forward. As I like to remind everyone when life feels overwhelming: “Get in, get through, and get onward.” And with Linda's work, that message feels more important than ever. Please listen to this short podcast of my live conversation with Linda Arroz on The Debbie Nigro Show. If you can help Linda with her cause - please do.
A petrol attendant's act of kindness has now sparked an entire movement of kindness. After Justin Roderick's car ran out of petrol just 2 km from his daughters' school, they were left stranded with no other option but to walk to the nearest petrol station. Here, they were met with kindness when petrol attendant Warren Bhebe paid for a 5-litre bottle of petrol for the family and gave them an additional R100.
In this episode, You Won't Believe What One Act of Kindness Did, I share a powerful story from a day spent spreading kindness in my community. What started as a simple gesture, something small, intentional, and from the heart ended up making a much bigger impact than I expected. I'll walk you through what I did, how people responded in the moment, and the touching message I received afterward from someone who was deeply moved. This is your reminder that kindness doesn't have to be big to be meaningful. Sometimes, the smallest act can leave the biggest mark.
The Hidden Lightness with Jimmy Hinton – Diagnosed with a rare form of Parkinson's and enduring constant, excruciating pain, Ozzy Osbourne had every reason to retreat. He could have spent his final months in peace, surrounded by family, out of the public eye. But that wasn't his way. Instead, he chose the path of resilience. He poured what strength he had left into organizing a once-in-a-lifetime concert...

A recording of an on-air conversation with Bill Lundun and Gerry Snyder of the Wake Up Call on Eugene's KPNW Radio AM 1120. Topic: Reading between the lines of the story, it's clear that Governor Oswald West's well-intentioned intervention in pardoning his friend City Marshal Z.H. Stroud was probably the worst thing that could have happened to Stroud, and precipitated the closest thing Oregon history has to Arizona's famous O.K. Corral gunfight. Which, as I'm sure you've gathered, the lawman lost. (For the full story, see https://offbeatoregon.com/24-04a.1107e_os-west-pardons-gunfighter-marshal.html)
Brent Lindeque flipped a reckless drinking game on its head by buying a homeless man a R20 meal and unknowingly sparked a global movement. That one moment of kindness went viral, reached millions, inspired feeding schemes across the world, and became the heartbeat of Good Things Guy. In this special episode of Good Things with Brent Lindeque, we go back to where it all began. This is the origin story... for those who've just joined the community, or those who've been here from the start and want to feel inspired all over again.

Graduation is such a big moment – standing in your cap and gown, hearing your name called, and walking across that stage. It's a rite of passage, a moment of pride and accomplishment. But for some students, that moment almost didn't happen.

The perception in our society is we value freedom and independence over other virtues like kindness. While kindness can appear to be a sign of weakness, genuine kindness is not weak. Kindess considers others first and takes strength in character by requiring integrity, patience and above all self-sacrifice. Dr. Richard Kyte, Director Endowed Professor, Servant Leadership at Viterbo University shares how small acts of kindness can be very powerful.

Send us a textToday I want to share something that kind of irks me a little bit. It just rubs me the wrong way and I need to do some digging into why it bothers me, but it does. Yes, not a lot, not like it's really super annoying, but it's one of those things that just goes, makes me go, uh, really like, come on.

Why Follow-Ups Are Actually An Act of KindnessThis episode is an excerpt from our Premium Ghostwriting Academy Hot Seat live session, where we discuss why follow-ups are more than just a sales tactic—they're a way to help clients make decisions. Many people hesitate to follow up because they don't want to seem pushy, but in reality, most clients are just busy or unsure about the next step. We break down how to follow up in a way that adds value, why repetition builds trust, and how to position yourself as a trusted expert rather than just another service provider. Whether you're writing email courses, marketing your services, or selling a product, this episode will help you rethink how you approach follow-ups.(0:00 - 1:38) – Introduction and discussion on explaining the value of educational email courses(1:39 - 3:49) – Why reframing a client's question is more effective than just answering it(3:50 - 5:57) – How follow-ups help clients recognize their own challenges and make better decisions(5:58 - 8:12) – The role of mistakes and objections in structuring effective email courses(8:13 - 10:24) – Why practicing on yourself builds trust and credibility with clients(10:25 - 13:02) – How marketing is about experimenting, learning, and sharing insights(13:03 - 16:00) – The value of persistence and why follow-ups help clients, not pressure them-------✍️ Want to start writing online? Welcome to another episode of The Sisterhood of Sweat! I'm so excited to have the talented actor Nambi Nylumbi join us today. Nambi is best known for his roles on shows like Night Court, The Good Fight, and Mike & Molly. But his journey to success is truly inspiring. Nambi shared an amazing story about how a simple act of kindness - a stranger giving him $20 on the street - ended up changing the trajectory of his career. He's proof that with hard work, talent, and a little bit of luck, you can achieve your dreams. I know our listeners are going to be uplifted and motivated by his story. Imagine finishing a long day's work and then choosing to serve others. That's exactly what James, a pizza delivery driver, did when he noticed an elderly customer's overgrown yard. After delivering their pizza, he returned with his lawn care tools to tidy up their property. This act of kindness mirrors the love God calls us to extend to our neighbors. It's a powerful reminder that we're often placed exactly where we need to be to make a difference, just as God intends.
