In this episode, All Things Endurance Host, Rick Prince, speaks with Jayme Linker. Jayme is a Colorado native who, along with her team, is planning to become the first individuals to row the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans consecutively. They will be attempting this in 2024. Jayme discusses what it takes to train for such an endeavor, as well as what is required from a logistical point of view. It's a fascinating discussion.  This podcast episode is unique in the fact that ocean rowing is not one of the ‘mainstream' endurance sports and therefore, it contains a lot of eye-opening information. In this episode we speak to Martin McTigue. Martin joined London Ambulance Service in 1986. He progressed through the ranks, working first as an Operations Manager then later as Head of Business Development. In 2015, Martin started making weekly trips to the refugee camp known as the Calais Jungle. Here, he formed a clinic to serve the medical needs of 8000 migrants. Martin has also worked extensively in sea rescue. He advises the UK lifeboat charity, the RNLI, on mass casualty rescues, and he is a trustee of the NGO Atlantic Pacific. I met Martin in January on a rescue ship, the Sea-Eye 4. Lin talks about why she volunteers and ways to inspire young people to have fun while protecting the oceans and people.

Jason Caldwell is a world-class athlete, a leadership and high-performance coach, and keynote speaker.  For the past nine years Jason has used the lessons learned from the sports arena to teach what it takes to be a leader in a competitive business environment.As an endurance and adventure athlete, Jason has accumulated world records from the oceans to the Namib Desert. Upon graduating college he was invited to row for Vesper Boat Club's elite rowing team in Philadelphia where he won two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze at the National Championships over a three year period. In 2015 Jason went on to captain and represent the United States in a rowing race 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean (taliskerwhiskyatlanticchallenge.com). Despite a dramatic and treacherous 51 day row, including the emergency evacuation of two of his team members, Jason led his remaining crew to the finish line in Antigua resulting in the American Record for the fastest US four to ever cross the Atlantic. One year later, unsatisfied with an 11th place finish, Jason recruited a new team to re-enter the race. On January 19th of 2017 Jason and his crew crossed the finish line once again, not only winning the race, but breaking the World Record as the fastest team to ever row across the Atlantic Ocean.Today, Jason is the President and Owner of Latitude 35 Leadership, which uses experiential training to explore the finer art of leading and maintaining high performance teams. Back in 2010, Eadie was working in the merchandising department at Gap Inc. in San Francisco when she noticed the industry was no longer leaning to runways for inspiration -- instead, it was turning to the streets. That was when she decided to start her daily fashion blog, Atlantic Pacific. She soon realized what she had created could become a viable business, and she never looked back.
