SEASON 3 EPISODE 120: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: We’ve all known it would come to this; we’ve all WARNED it would come to this; we’ve all PREDICTED they’d try to ease the knife in slowly, they’d take the boiling frog route, and here it comes. It’s in every piece of political science fiction from "1984" to "Brazil" to "V For Vendetta." And it is now real: if everything Trump does deserves criticism and gets criticism there is only one thing for Trump and his gang to do: prosecute criticism of Trump and claim those WHO criticize him are aiding and abetting terrorists. The ultimate Thought Crime was given voice by no less a figure than Trump's Counterterrorism Director, who, since Trump found the worst possible person to do each job (and bin Laden is dead) is Sebastian Gorka. The threat is connected to the push to send not just immigrants to rot in a For-Profit El Salvador Rendition Center, but American citizens too, especially those who standup to Trump's attempt to purge Hispanics from this country. Axios reports that one of the other potential new Orwellian crimes would be advising detainees of their rights. If that's not directed at AOC I don't know what could be. B-Block (25:20) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Derrick Van Orden attacks Wisconsin's governor because Van Orden thinks Milwaukee kids are stupid - and he misspells the word "how" in his post. Brian Kilmeade's Hegseth spoiler alert: he calls him "former secretary." And we are all very proud here that one of 'our own' has reduced Bill Maher to graffiti. Further details on "My Dinner With Adolf." C-Block (37:45) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I had literally forgotten - until I literally worked through the neighborhood - that I made my Broadway singing and dancing debut seven years ago. I mean literally, on stage, during an actual Broadway show. If it made that much of an impression on me, imagine how bored the audience was! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Rita Moreno is an American treasure. She is the first performer to have won a Oscar, Tony, Grammy and Emmy: an Oscar for West Side Story in 1961; a 1972 Grammy Award for her contribution to "The Electric Company"'s soundtrack album; a Tony Award in 1975 for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for "The Ritz"; and back to back Emmys in 1977 and 78. She was born Rosita Dolores Alverío in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on December 11, 1931 to seamstress Rosa María and farmer Francisco José Alverío. Rosita and her mother moved to New York City in 1937, where she began a professional career making her Broadway debut on November 22, 1945, less than a month before her 14th birthday co-starring with Arthur Keegan and a young Eli Wallach in the play Skydrift at the Belasco Theater. Although she would not appear again on Broadway for almost two decades, Rita Moreno, as she was billed in the play, had arrived professionally. Then, on March 1, 1954, Rita was featured on the cover of Life Magazine. As she remembers, the legendary Hollywood producer and studio head, Daryl Zanuck saw the cover and said, “Get me that girl!” The rest as they say is history and the continuation of a magical career that has spanned more than 7 decades and continues to this day. At age 87, Ms. Moreno still has the joy of life that brought her to the party. On a personal note, several years ago, I had the honor of co-hosting with Ms. Moreno at the White House Hispanic Heritage Awards in Washington DC. Recently, she graciously accepted an invitation from Dr. Robert Vela, President at San Antonio College to speak at Annual SAC Fiesta Brunch held at the Pearl Stables in San Antonio and thanks to Dr. Vela, I had an opportunity to sit down with Rita and catch up! Here is that visit, sprinkled with highlights of her memorable presentation. Find more at: https://SonnyRadio.com/show

McDonnell dropped Kameda in the final frame to seal the deal, defeating Kameda by way of unanimous decision.Anthony Dirrell beat an outmatched and out of shape Marco Antonio Rubio over ten rounds in the boring main event of this Sunday afternoon fight card on the PBC. The Premier Boxing Champions announcing crew was disgraceful during this fight card from Corpus Cristi. Biased, agenda driven announcing has been a major issue with every PBC card to date, but the ridiculous, farfetched, attempted manipulation of the at-home boxing audience was disrespectful at best. Host Kenny Keith gives a passionate assessment about the state of boxing announcing. The PBC has taken a respected craft of keen observation and reporting and turned into an agenda driven public relations machine. The Take of the Tape has results from Golden Boy Promotions LA Fight Club show at the Belasco Theater, and briefly discusses the PBC's ten millionth television outlet for their profit loss-leader mechanism as they introduce the PBC on Fox Sports 1.
