The Podcast That Rocked for 5/14/25. The Poisoned Ascendency Tour from Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine has been stopped, Sleep Token on route to #1, more. ___Discussion Topics:Trivium VS Bullet For My Valentine (but not really?)Even In Arcadia by Sleep Token on route to be #1Someone actually bought the Gene Simmons roadie opportunityTurnstile go big at home show in BaltimoreNine Inch Nails announce Future Ruins composer festivalUpcoming albums/tours/more ___SONG OF THE WEEK: Halsey & Amy Lee “Hand That Feeds” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_cBf-E7n7A ___“Fans initially expected both bands to visit South America, Australia and more, but Bullet for My Valentine will instead "divert [their] full attention towards the next chapter" of the band with plans to enter the studio in the summer. "As we head into the final shows of The Poisoned Ascendancy tour, we want to thank everyone who's come out to celebrate with us," the band wrote. "The shows have been phenomenal and we've loved connecting with every single one of you. Being in this band is the most important thing to the four of us. We're incredibly grateful to have been given the chance to look back at a pair of life-changing albums for us & Trivium, who we have nothing but respect and admiration for." After acknowledging the "incredible achievement" of a 20-plus-year career, Bullet for My Valentine said they "can't wait to get back in the studio later this summer and finish what we promise you is our best album to date. To go along with this, we are already starting to make plans for the 2026 & 2027 touring cycles, hitting every corner." They ended their statement with a note of gratitude for their fans plus the promise, "We'll be back with all of you very soon." What Did Trivium Say About Bullet for My Valentine Tour Ending? Earlier this week, Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto blamed Bullet for My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck for the Poisoned Ascendancy tour coming to an apparently premature end. "Matt Tuck didn't want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works — don't know why," Gregoletto said in a livestream. The band later said in a TikTok comment that Tuck was "the sole decision maker of the band and he has no respect for us or our crew." Despite the public drama, Trivium frontman Matt Heafy expressed his joy and gratitude for the tour in his own statement on Tuesday. "I have loved every show, every day, every minute; from the work I did - I have found myself more present and more appreciative than ever," he wrote.” (Loudwire) ___Trivium VS Bullet For My Valentine?! | The Podcast That Rocked

Send us a textAs the metalcore world continues to thrive on its past and push forward into new territory, few bands walk that line more masterfully than August Burns Red. The Grammy-nominated heavyweights recently made a powerful appearance on The Barn's very own Vulgar Display of Podcast, where drummer Matt Greiner joined the conversation to dive into the band's legacy, relentless touring schedule, and their latest massive undertaking — a full re-recording of their iconic debut Thrill Seeker. And as fate would have it, the timing couldn't be better. ABR is set to join Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine on The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour 2025, which hits The Factory STL in St. Louis on Saturday, April 19. The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of both Ascendancy and The Poison, with each band performing their breakout records in full. With Bleed From Within also on the bill, it's a stacked night of explosive metal — and ABR is bringing the heat. But the fire doesn't stop on stage. The band is marking 20 years of Thrill Seeker with a complete re-recording of the album, this time featuring longtime frontman Jake Luhrs on vocals — a longtime dream finally realized. The anniversary edition drops January 24 via ABR Records, packed with upgraded production from Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, and features guest spots from Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz and former ABR vocalist Josh McManness. Plus, the bonus track “Pride & Humility” gets a proper reimagining. Known for their tight musicianship, complex structures, and emotionally rich themes, August Burns Red has carved out a space uniquely their own — what Kerrang! once described as "thrillingly empathetic." Whether tearing up stages across the globe with Parkway Drive and Bring Me the Horizon, or dominating headlining tours celebrating albums like Constellations and Leveler, ABR has proven time and time again that they're built to last.

Conduce l'episodio Jacopo Casati, giornalista, promotion manager e digital specialist.Il podcast è disponibile su Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, YouTube, Deezer, Spreaker e molti altri.

Heavy metal music is alive and well in Japan. For a country more recognised for being conservative and polite when it comes to social interactions, the amount of talented, unrecognised and socially unacceptable bands doing the rounds is almost unfathomable.Over six previous visits to Japan with different touring bands I have witnessed everything from jazz to metal to rock to acoustic, but if there is one common denominator it is the universal wealth of talent that seems to be dripping from the corners of every live house you visit. A quick tally comes to around 120 live Japanese bands I have seen and/or played with over the years, and I would be lying if I said at least 110 of them were worthy of paying to see again. One of those bands is Osaka metal maniacs kitsunevi, who I had the pleasure of meeting at a recent trip to Gattaca Live House. This band had everything. The wow factor, a shredding guitarist/vocalist, a drummer who hits harder and faster than Sonic The Hedgehog, and a bass player with dreadlocks down to her legs with a finger-picking/slap style of funk metal that can only be compared to the great Fieldy from KORN.As much as I hate labels, if I had to describe kitsunevi's sound it would be a cross between Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, and Primus, but even that wouldn't be doing this trio justice. After already releasing two cracking EP's since forming only last year and putting serious miles in on the touring circuit, one gets the feeling that kitsunevi are destined for bigger things. And soon.HEAVY caught up with Summer (drums) to find out more.We engaged in a detailed discussion around the band's music, upcoming tours, and potential collaborations. Summer shared the band's formation story and the inspiration behind their name, which is rooted in an ancient Japanese tale. The conversation highlighted their commitment to regular practice sessions in Osaka, aiming to refine their unique sound and performance style. We also explored kitsunevi's individual musical influences and how these contribute to their cohesive group dynamic, emphasizing the importance of friendship in their creative process. The chat further delved into kitsunami's recent EP releases, Embers Will Rise and Smell the Coffee, with Summer detailing the themes and musical elements of each project. He expressed excitement about their upcoming shows in Tokyo and Taiwan, as well as the possibility of touring Australia next year. We discussed the vibrant music culture in Japan and the collaborative opportunities it presents for both local and international bands. As the interview concluded, Summer recommended three songs for new listeners to get to know the band, and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Our fact checker Jeff Brownen discovered a "Lost Episode" (as you're reading this, say it with 1950's fading echo, lost episode... lost episode... lost episode....)... This episode begins on March 17th, 2006 at the Cains Ballroom with Opeth & DevilDriver.... Followed by the Shirts For A Cure Tour w/ Thursday & Minus The Bear & The Number 12 Looks Like You at the Cains Ballroom! Nine Inch Nails at the Ford Center with Saul, Max reminisces about seeing NIN live at Kinetics in Bricktown on the Pretty Hate Machine Tour. Max once again did a two stage local metal show at the Cains that had Horse Called War on the bill. We also discuss the very first Bullet For My Valentine show in Oklahoma at Curly's with Forte, which was legendary... A brand new metal band, with young kids, with all the hype behind them on the same bill with Metal / Thrash legends Forte.... If you were asked to guess who would have the best grass, Willie, Merle, or Ray Price? Most would have no idea that it would be Ray Price.... If you know, you know! We had the pleasure of interviewing Kill The Lights over Zoom video!Certain bonds cross any and all borders and boundaries. Kill The Lights harbor this kind of connection between them. Even though you've got Michael “Moose” Thomas [drums] and Jason “Jay” James [bass] in Bridgend, Wales, James Clark [vocals] in Minneapolis, MN, Jordan Whelan [guitar] in Grand Rapids, MI, and Travis Montgomery [guitar] in Dallas, TX, the musicians lock into an impenetrable groove that eclipses physical distance. Together, they rally around a tight, taut, and tough vision for heavy metal, manifesting in rafter-reaching anthems and pit-splitting riffs. After piling up millions of streams and earning acclaim from the likes of KERRANG! and Metal Hammer, a sense of unwavering unity drives their second full-length offering, Death Melodies [Fearless Records].Of course, the musicians boast an incredible pedigree… Moose co-founded multiplatinum international heavyweights Bullet For My Valentine, while Jay also played in the band. James fronted Throw The Fight, and Jordan and Travis handled guitar duties for Still Remains and Threat Signal, respectively. Upon forming Kill The Lights, they uncovered uncontainable chemistry, releasing their debut LP The Sinner in the midst of the global pandemic. Among many highlights, “The Faceless” posted up 2 million-plus Spotify streams and counting followed by “Through The Night” and “Shed My Skin,” which each crossed the 1 million mark. Metal Hammer rated it “4-out-of-5 stars” and proclaimed, “Kill The Lights nail the groove and the glory.” Along the way, they wrote and recorded Death Melodies with sessions in Canada, Minneapolis, and across the pond in the UK with producers Chris Clancy and Colin Richardson. A complex theme coursed through the music. “Everybody struggles with different things,” states James. “These are songs about acknowledging and sharing the struggle in life. You're acknowledging the world is a hard place. Hopefully, you can find some solace in it by knowing another person feels the same way."Fittingly, they bust through the door of the next era with the single “Broken Bones.” On the track, galloping drums propel a thrashed-out riff at full speed towards a hummable hook, “You're dead inside, but still alive. There's nothing left but broken bones.” “Much of the record centered around depression and dealing with anxiety,” James goes on. “So, ‘Broken Bones' is about battling your way through life, but sticking with it.”Vulnerable acoustic guitar sets the tone for “Sleep With The Devil” as tension swells into an emotionally charged skyscraping refrain uplifted by a six-part choir harmony. “It's stuff you don't hear too much on a metal record,” Jordan comments. “It stretches the places we can go.”A sinewy guitar line snakes through the understated trudge of “Bleeding,” which is about “living a recurring nightmare and never being able to break the chain.” Then, there's “From Ashes.” Guitar swings like a wrecking ball from melodic verses towards a magnetic refrain. The ride concludes on the transfixing closer “Drowning” as distortion submerges an ethereal chorus.“It had a bit of a grungy vibe to it,” Jordan goes on. “We added some different dynamics on the record that weren't there on the first one.” In the end, Kill The Lights invite everyone to partake in their bond now.We want to hear from you! KILL THE LIGHTS Drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas and THE GEMS guitarist/bassist Mona Lindgren join us on this week's edition of The Loaded Radio Podcast KILL THE LIGHTS is the band featuring former BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE bassist Jason "Jay" James and drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas, alongside former members of THROW THE FIGHT, THREAT SIGNAL, and STILL REMAINS. The group made waves with their debut album, "The Sinner," released in 2020 under Fearless Records. Praised for its "statement songs" (Distorted Sound) and technical prowess, it garnered acclaim for its expansive sound and precise execution (Sonic Perspectives). After piling up millions of streams and earning acclaim from the likes of KERRANG! and Metal Hammer, a sense of unwavering unity drives their second full-length offering, "Death Melodies", which arrives March 8 via Fearless Records. “The best stuff comes when we're together,” states Moose. “We'll joke around for hours, have a few drinks, and the songs write themselves. We're so connected in this way. There's no path. We're not trying to follow anybody. This is the first album that really sounds like Kill The Lights.” In December 2017, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE announced the departure of Thomas, replaced by Jason Bowld (PITCHSHIFTER, AXEWOUND). Bowld had been touring with the band since November 2015, filling in for Thomas, who had taken time off for family reasons. Prior to that, bassist Jason James' departure from BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE was announced in February 2015, during the recording of the band's fifth album, "Venom." Jamie Mathias was brought in as his replacement in May of the same year. In the podcast, "Moose" talks about his stepping away from BFMV, how he came to join KILL THE LIGHTS with his ex-bandmate and plans for the immediate future behind the kit. The second portion of the show features THE GEMS guitarist/bassist Mona Lindgren. Emerging from the remnants, Swedish rock newcomers THE GEMS, comprising former THUNDERMOTHER members vocalist Guernica Mancini, drummer Emlee Johansson, and guitarist/bassist Mona “Demona” Lindgren, announce their debut album, "Phoenix," which arrived on January 26, 2024, via Napalm Records. THE GEMS' potential was swiftly validated with the release of their inaugural standalone single, "Like A Phoenix," in the summer of 2023. This debut single soared to the No. 2 position on the German Rock Radio Airplay Charts, catching the attention of rock enthusiasts worldwide. The album's captivating opener, "Aurora," sets the stage, allowing Mancini's distinctive, powerful, and bluesy vocals to shine. Following this, the infectious rock anthem "Queens" celebrates feminine strength and resilience. Themes of empowerment and perseverance echo throughout "Phoenix," exemplified by tracks like the standout "Send Me To The Wolves," advocating for self-assertion and triumph over adversity. In the show, Mona discusses what exactly happened with THUNDERMOTHER, the formation of THE GEMS, the crushing new album "Phoenix" and tons more.

When Michael ‘Moose' Thomas left Brit metal superstars Bullet For My Valentine in 2016, he did so frustrated at a perceived lack of creativity within a band he'd been a member of since their formation back in 1998. It was a brave, but terrifying decision. And yet you can't keep a good drummer down, and a year after Moose's new band Kill The Lights marked their arrival with debut album The Sinner, the group - featuring Throw The Fight's James Clark, Still Remains' Jordan Whelan, Threat Signal's Travis Montgomery and behind the drum kit Moose himself – have a blistering – yeah you heard! – new single, 'Broken Bones', and a plan for building something new, from the grass roots up. Good bloke is Moose, and it was an absolute pleasure to learn a bit more about what comes next from one of the nicest dudes in heavy rock.
