Through her unique coaching approach, Katie helps listeners discover how to live a life true to themselves, avoiding the common regret of not following their authentic path. She shares a story about a friend's love for tennis, a powerful example of finding flow—that state of full presence that brings inner joy and fulfillment. Katie also discusses insights from The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying by Bonnie Ware, highlighting why aligning our values with our daily actions is crucial for a regret-free life. By reflecting on what truly matters, we can all start moving toward a more intentional and fulfilling existence. In two guided meditation sessions, Katie provides practical steps for grounding in the present moment and evaluating personal definitions of success. Rather than relying on external achievements, she explains how real success can come from within—measured by feelings of love, gratitude, compassion, and generosity. This approach resonates deeply with those looking to redefine their life goals in alignment with personal values. Katie introduces the mantra "Shivo Hum," encouraging listeners to connect with their essence and universal creativity. Through this mantra and a guided visualization, Katie helps listeners envision themselves living a life rooted in their true values, away from distractions and toward personal growth and transformation. Katie invites listeners to reflect on their journey, suggesting a journaling exercise to dive deeper into their values and intentions. For anyone ready to explore a purposeful life that aligns with their true self, this episode is a powerful step forward. They say we realize what matters in life when we are nearing death. Bonnie Ware, a palliative care nurse in Australia, noticed that people across all walks of life had five common regrets when nearing the end. She described these in her book, "The Top Five Regrets of the Dying." Fascinating enough, a 2018 study also reached the same conclusion. In today's episode, Pastor Jimn and Pastor Jolea will walk us through these five regrets and share with us what we can do to prevent them. The Top Five Regrets of the Dying:  "I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me."  "I wish I hadn't worked so hard."  "I wish I had the courage to express my feelings."  "I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends."  "I wish that I had let myself be happier."    Have a regret you want to share? These are important questions because we, as Last 8%ers, will not let fear or what other people think of us get in the way of living our best life. "People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them." Bonnie Ware. Today in the Word Devotional

Bonnie Ware spent years caring for patients in the last weeks of their lives. The nurse wrote a blog post titled “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying,” which went viral and was later turned into a book. Among those regrets were: “I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself” and “I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.” In today’s reading, the apostle Paul realized the end of his life was near. But instead of reflecting upon regrets, he faced his death with confidence and hope. This hope was grounded in three truths. First, he described his impending death this way: “I am already being poured out like a drink offering” (v. 6). He knew his suffering and death had purpose. He compared his suffering to a “drink offering,” which was a type of sacrifice described in the Pentateuch (Num. 15:5). The Lord received his suffering as an act of worship. Second, Paul was confident that he had lived his life well. The Lord had called him to be an apostle to the Gentiles and to suffer for his witness (Acts 9:15–16). Paul declared, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (v. 7). Like a marathon runner crossing the finish line, he had done his part. Finally, Paul knew this life is not all there is. He could look forward to standing before the Lord justified because of what Christ had done. He proclaimed, “There is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day” (v. 8). Unlike an Olympic race where only one winner can be crowned, at the final judgment the victor’s crown can go to any one “who have longed for his appearing” (v. 8). >> Some people make a list of things they want to experience before they die. What is on your spiritual bucket list? Are there ways your life needs to change so you can look back on it and say with Paul, “I have kept the faith”?

What do you want to do before you die? In 2006, Ben Nemtin and his group of friends set off to make a movie about completing their bucket list. Creating an epic list of 100 things to do before they died, Ben and his friends bought a barely-running RV and traveled across the country attempting to check items off their list while helping others complete their own. Though the movie was never made, their journey to discover what truly matters in life was the ultimate bucket list item.On today’s Broken Brain Podcast, our host, Dhru talks to Ben Nemtim, #1 New York Times bestselling author of What Do You Want to Do Before You Die? and a star of MTV’s highest rated show ever on iTunes and Amazon called The Buried Life. President Obama called Ben and The Buried Life “inspiration for a new generation” and Oprah declared their mission “truly inspiring.” In this episode, Dhru and Ben talk about how to live a life without regrets. Ben shares his experience filming The Buried Life and how this led him to write What Do You Want to Do Before You Die? They discuss the importance of being intentional with goals, how to respond to roadblocks, and how to keep aspirations relevant. You’ll hear how to create your own bucket list and keep what’s truly important at the forefront of your mind.In this episode, we dive into:-The biggest regrets most people have when they get to the end of their lives (3:18)-Ben's core life crisis that shaped his journey (5:40)-How MTV's The Buried Life show was created (9:52)-How Ben's family responded to him dropping out of school and how to approach people who are "dream killers" (15:15)-What’s in Ben's mental health toolkit (19:38)-How to redefine your bucket list (21:26)-How helping other people with their bucket list creates connection and increases your own well-being (29:19)-The ripple effect of happiness when you pursue your deepest goals and dreams (35:40)-How creating accountability around personal goals makes you exponentially more likely to accomplish them (54:37)-How to approach roadblocks (1:00:20)-The 5 steps formula to accomplishing goals on your bucket list (1:04:40)-How to check back in with your bucket list and how your bucket list is different from your to-do list (1:18:30)-How and why to create a family or shared bucket list (1:24:00)-What two items are left on Ben's original bucket list and where to find out more about Ben (1:34:44)For more on Ben, be sure to follow him on Instagram @bennemtin, on Facebook @bennemtin, and on YouTube @bennemtin. FIRST THING: This episode is all about #PIMPINJOY, in honor of Amy’s mom's birthday!! Judy would have been 71 years old today and wouldn't believe all the amazingness that has come from her simple act of choosing joy while battling cancer. In the first thing Amy does a little #ThrowbackThursday from the Gracie Awards in LA in 2014. Even thought she was very sick, Judy was able to attend, which was very special. Amy shares audio of Bobby presenting her with the award from a video that Judy filmed (so the audio is extra special). In Bobby's presentation speech, we get a great explanation of what #PIMPINJOY is all about and why this patricianly moment was special for Amy. The audio also sets up what's to come in the second thing. SECOND THING: Amy shares an email that a listener sent in about her friend who has had a lot of difficult times in her life...but through it all...continuously choses JOY. The email is inspiring and then in true #PIMPINJOY spirit...Amy surprises the friend with some fun stuff...that's what #PIMPINJOY is all about...choosing joy...but also SPREADING JOY...whoop!!! THIRD THING: Amy couldn't do an episode about her mom without having her sister, Cristi, on. So Cristi joins in on the third thing to talk about honor loved ones that you've lost & finding ways to keep their memory alive. They also discuss what Cristi learned from the book “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying” by Bonnie Ware. And in a very special moment (totally impromptu) Cristi & Amy sing Happy Birthday to their mom.  FOURTH THING: #PIMPINJOY apparel sales have been able to help A LOT of people and causes the last 5 years, over $2million donated. One of the beneficiaries was Capt. Nelson & his family after he lost his legs in Afghanistan. We came alongside Building Homes for Heroes to help build a new ADA certified hour for them. You may recall the camo #PIMPINJOY tee that was sold a couple of years ago?? Well, even if you're not, you will enjoy the update Amy got from his wife, Jennifer Nelson, during this thing. They are such an awesome family!!! Bonjour life sparklers! The Integrally alive podcast is back for season two: practical wisdom and tools for the bodyMind every week... For unconventional humans to embody their unapologetic Self and create a life of freedom & joy. How sweet, isn't it? Yeah, I know, can't help it. ;-) I'm super excited to begin this new season for you, and with a new format: There will be some interviews, but most of the podcast will be me sharing practical wisdom and tools to make your life easier & more enjoyable. And in a minute I'm going to tell you what to expect. The big why But first, I hear you: unapologetic?! Yeah, another trendy word that's been so used it has lost all power and meaning. Sadly, we still miss it in our life. Just a few years ago, Bonnie Ware, a nurse working with people at the end of their life, published a book: The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Do you know what the first of these regrets was? "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me." So, YES TO UNAPOLOGETIC! I unapologetically wish more people to be unapologetic and enjoy a life that is true to themselves. (And I secretly hope that I will pronounce the word "unapologetically" right very soon! Until then, I unapologetically pronounce it in my own way.) Here goes for my big why, but What to expect? Practical wisdom and tools for the bodyMind to make life easier and more enjoyable! Basically, I will touch on everything body & mind related that makes us come more alive. And especially: Shifting from stress to resilience Stress, whatever we name it: overwhelm, decision fatigue, FOMO, anxiety, burn out... This word has become like the tree that hides the forest. What is it really? And what is resilience, and how to grow it? I've got the first good news for you: You were born, and you are alive, right? So you are already resilient! Yep, you just need to grow it. Mastering private speaking Public speaking is great, but what about communicating more effectively with yourself and others, in daily life? That is what private speaking is about. I believe this is something that should be taught in school, to everyone! Owning our stories & the power of storytelling We all have stories, and until we own them, they own us. Hey, sharing stories has been around for thousand years... There must be a reason! Bringing awareness to, & embodying all of your intelligences You read correctly, intelligences, plural: This is the only podcast that makes you 6 times more intelligent. Most of the time, when we talk about intelligence, we think about rational thinking. But we have much more resource than that, in our emotions, in our physical body, in our relationships... So, instead of unconsciously being controlled by them... How would it be to access these resources and intentionally use them in daily life? Welcome to being multidimensional. It is going to be... Simple Because complex is beautiful, but simple is more effective! Practical, and experiential Because much more than from what we read or think, we learn from what we do.

A plusieurs niveaux.

According to the research of Bonnie Ware, as she worked alongside the dying as a palliative nurse, the common theme amongst them was regret. What’s interesting as you analyse the regrets is that most of them were avoidable. Things that were available however weren't appreciated, enjoyed more or lived in alignment with.

The 3 Causes of Self-Doubt = "I'm Not Enough" "Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will." -Suzy Kazzem The following concept is from a talk Lewis Howes gave at his Summit of Greatness last October 2018. He mentioned that the 3 causes of self-doubt that hold us back from starting and chasing our creative dreams fall into these buckets of fear: Fear of Failure Fear of Judgment Fear of Success Imagine a 3-ring Venn diagram with each fear located in a circle. At the overlapping center is the feeling of "I'm not enough." In today's episode, I'm giving you 3 reasons to overcome your fear of getting started now, so that your future self will thank you. Avoid the 'What Ifs' On Your Deathbed In the book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing by Bonnie Ware, the number one regret from those on their deathbed was, "I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me." Bonnie states, “This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made or not made. Health brings a freedom very few realize until they no longer have it." Final thoughts: Don't let the thoughts and influences of family, friends, or acquaintances deter you from pursuing your calling—don't settle for an average life! Don't ignore the omens and signs—the more of them you ignore, the less they'll come your way; and you'll give up on your dream You'll Regret Not Starting Sooner Avoid the trap of tomorrow, I'll start this when I: have the time have the energy have the resources hit this age land this job etc. My Biggest Regrets My biggest regrets have never been, "Damn, I never should've attempted that." My biggest regrets have always been, "Damn, I wish I would've started doing that sooner." E.g., sharing my work, blogging, podcasting, video, investing TIME and EFFORT into myself and my dream Every new start is a humble beginning Take Action Action leads to failure, which is necessary for growth. Don't Rob Yourself and Others of Your Gift "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." - William Shakespeare or Picasso (nobody knows) We all have untapped creative potential, and it's our duty to spend our days trying to discover it so we can share with others When you don't seek out your gift, you rob your current and future self of purpose, fulfillment, happiness, and value you can bring to others Action Step: Attack Fear "Do what you fear, and fear disappears." - David Joseph Schwartz What is the one thing that's holding you back from chasing your creative dreams? By the end of the day of when you first hear this episode, I challenge you to get uncomfortable and take that first step toward attacking that fear. This could be having that hard conversation with a loved one about your dream, sharing your work on social media for the first time, or signing up for that workout class. Whatever it is, take action and don't fall into the trap of tomorrow. Don't go to your deathbed regretting the action you never took. You deserve to be happy. Enjoy This Episode? All credit goes to Bonnie Ware -- an Austrailian nurse who worked with terminally ill patients. She asked hundreds of patients “what do they regret most?” Then, she distilled themes and found these were the TOP FIVE things. Here they are: 1. “I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me” “This was the most common regret of all. When people realize that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honored even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made. Health brings a freedom very few realize until they no longer have it.” 2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard LOTS of male patients said this as top one.Are we here to do as much as we can? Are we here to BE as much as we can? 3. “I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings” Don’t hold it in. Again more common with men she worked with. 4. “I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends” Don’t need 50k friends! Why are we so “connected” but disconnected on social media. Need quality over quantity. Get more from 3-4 close friends than 30+ friends. Okay to simplify here. 5. “I wish I had let myself be happier Is happiness is a choice? If I have ______ then I can feel ______ = A MINDSET!We want things so we can have feelings. Give yourself those feelings, allow yourself to FEEL the win. Personal story: Remember when I made $12,00 in a single week, VBA course. I worked my ASS off for that - soon as I got the check and it was in my bank…. nothing. No feeling at all. Felt exact SAME! Realized that it was a choice. ► Join the 30-Day Coaching Program: http://mybestjournal.com stop settling start living Clark
