Rohit is back this week and is immediately on the defensive after last week's lampooning in his absence. He tries his best to explain his actions but ultimately he takes the L. We also get some yarns from the boys trip to the Australian Open last week including multiple run ins with Australian tennis royalty as well as an unethical life hack to watching some free tennis. The game this week is “Guess the Person.” No reinventing the wheel here as the boys go head to head rattling off quick fire questions to each other in an effort to guess the individual the other is thinking.Final segment this week is “Sicko Mode.” We've all chucked a sickie before, sometimes for real, sometimes for other nefarious reasons. We discuss the best ways to call in sick, the tactics and some of the worst excuses we've heard.___________________________________________________________FULL PODCAST EPISODES

This week on OTAT, the boys review Anh's Brush with Fame (streaming on ABC iView). Refugee turned standup comedian turned painter/interviewer, Anh Do has a new muse every week to chat with about their life, journey, and how they became an icon in their own right. This episode is with none other than Australia's sweetheart: Missy Higgins
Aussie singer/songwriter Missy Higgins appeared on Anh Do's Brush With Fame this week. She spoke about the pressure put on her at a young age by the media, and her fans, to put a label on her sexuality. Artists should be able to say what’s off-limits, but has our understanding of sexuality and fluidity evolved enough since then? Plus, What is FUN? Apart from a bit of an ick word. How important is fun in our lives, and why are women kind of… bad at it? And our best and worst of the week… which veer from trolls to teeth. Avery Thompson is a funny, heartfelt and eccentric filmmaker and radio producer who has done almost every job under the sun. Like many 20 year-olds, he had big plans of what he was going to do with his life – he was determined to be the next Orson Welles. Unable to find someone to fund his creative endeavors and a portfolio of nothing more than a few zany student films, Avery took a summer job with a landscaping company in the Hamptons, determined he would meet the right people to eventually help him land his dream job in film. Surely Jerry Seinfeld would need a new walkway! Or Robert Deniro would need his roses cut! As the weeks went on, toiling away under the hot sun, Avery received the worst project he could think of – paint a fence in between overgrown holly bushes. But then a hilarious and chance run-in with Steven Spielberg helped set Avery on the path to what he was destined to do. Welcome to the Lancaster Story Slam podcast, sponsored by Levante Brewing Company! Elevate your craft with a pint from Levante! Our theme for the May Story Slam was “Brush with Fame,” and people showed up with some amazing stories. We had fourteen people put their name in the cup! While many of the stories were about awkward celebrity meetings, the winning story was quite different. Tony Crocamo won the prized pint glass - and earned a spot in our November Grand Slam - with this beautifully crafted tale. The next three stories are all about awkward celebrity encounters. We loved them all so we’re including all three. First up - writer Chris McDougall talks about spending some quality time with one of Hollywood’s biggest names. Next up is David Smith. David has recently caught the story slam bug. He has been spotted telling stories in West Chester, the Lehigh Valley, and now in Lancaster. This is one spectacular story. Our final story is from Jes Plain. This is just one of those funny awkward moments that occasionally happens to the best of us. We’re glad Jess shared this story with us. Thanks for listening! This podcast is produced by Carla Wilson of Wilson Media Services. Theme and sponsor music composed and performed by David Wilson. You can learn more at WilsonMediaServices.com.
Have you ever met an honest-to-goodness celebrity? All Y'all dedicated an entire night of live storytelling to the topic of celebrity encounters at our June 2015 event, "Brush With Fame." Tom Ayres's story from that night - a well-told tale of an airport encounter with an embattled sports icon - was one of the hits of the night. It made us think about all sorts of things: the drawbacks of a life spent in the public eye, the value of a shoulder to lean on, and the commonalities of the human experience.

As an 8-year-old boy, Brandon Oldenburg was a sponge soaking up all kinds of pop culture. Like just about everyone else on the Planet Earth in 1984, he and his brother were particularly fascinated by Michael Jackson - so much so that they produced their own "Beat It" video. Decades later, Oldenburg would cross paths with the King of Pop at a major turning point in both of their lives. Brandon Oldenburg is no stranger to the spotlight. A founding partner at Moonbot Studios in Shreveport, he won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2012 for his work on the film The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. In addition to his great story, this podcast also includes an interview with Oldenburg about growing up with a uniquely creative dad.
We've all had our "low points" on the job, moments when we were caught unprepared or off guard and we let our employers - and ourselves - down. Storyteller Wesley Hall Parker, who shared a story during the June 2015 All Y'all live storytelling event "Brush With Fame," experienced a Christmas Eve workplace crash-and-burn of epic proportions while working as a gift wrapper at San Francisco's Green Apple Books. As the title of her story implies, her workplace meltdown included some celebrity cameos.
Have you ever played a video game in which you saw the world from the perspective of your character, and you wielded some type of gun or weapon to fend off enemies as you explored the world of the game? If you have played such a video game, congrats - you’ve enjoyed a technology that was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. At the June 2015 All Y’all live storytelling event “Brush With Fame,” storyteller Stephen Vekovius shared the story of Softdisk and Id Software, two game-changing companies that were born in downtown Shreveport.
