BREAK: CU of GA STORY 1: Norcross Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting at Smyrna Apartments Donovan Tavves Carter, a Norcross man, was arrested for the alleged murder of Kenneth Cunningham II at Harlow apartments in Smyrna. Carter is accused of luring Cunningham to a specific location before shooting him multiple times with a semiautomatic handgun. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., prompting a response from various law enforcement agencies. Carter was arrested 12 hours later in Buford. He faces charges including malice murder, murder in the commission of a felony, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Carter is held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. STORY 2: Democrats and Republicans Propose Dueling Cobb School Board Maps Democratic State Representative Teri Anulewicz and Republican State Senator Ed Setzler are preparing competing redrawn maps for the Cobb Board of Education, in response to a federal judge's order to redraw the school board map by January 10. Anulewicz acknowledges the impossibility of meeting the deadline but is committed to doing everything she can. Setzler plans to present his map to the Georgia Senate on Monday. The judge's order follows a lawsuit alleging the current school board map constitutes an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. STORY 3: Marietta Cobb Museum of Art to Open Exhibit Featuring Georgia Photographers The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art is set to open its first photography-focused exhibition, the Georgia Juried Photography Exhibit, showcasing works exclusively from Georgia-based photographers. The exhibition features 69 final shots selected from over 400 submissions, highlighting various styles including portraits, street shots, and abstract art pieces. Commercial: CU of GA STORY 1: 21-Year-Old Charged in Fatal Cherokee County Crash William Bedora, a Woodstock man, faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI following a November crash. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office arrested Bedora on December 22, charging him with first-degree vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, and weaving over the roadway. The arrest warrant states that Bedora, driving over 116 mph under the influence, crashed into a mailbox and fence, resulting in the death of his passenger, Robert Zander Hattersley, 21. Bedora, released on a $24,000 bond, is prohibited from driving and contacting Hattersley's family under bond conditions. STORY 2: Braves Sign Newly Acquired Sale to Two-Year Extension The Atlanta Braves signed left-hander Chris Sale to a two-year, $38 million contract extension, restructuring his previous deal with the Boston Red Sox. The new contract covers the 2024 and 2025 seasons, with a club option for 2026 at $18 million. Sale, a seven-time All-Star, was acquired from Boston in exchange for prospect Vaughn Grissom. Since 2007, the mini grant has prevented serious injuries or deaths, saving over 425 children in Georgia involved in crashes. Car seats, when used correctly, reduce fatal injuries by 71% among infants and 54% among children aged 1 to 4 years in passenger cars. STORY 5: Ball Ground-Based Company Pledges $75,000 in Support of COED CAIRE Inc., a Ball Ground-based manufacturer of oxygen and cardiorespiratory diagnostics equipment, has pledged $75,000 over the next five years in support of the Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED). This investment is part of the COED initiative, Cherokee By Choice 2.0, aiming for $375 million in capital investment and 2,200 direct jobs for Cherokee County. The developer intends to combine the land with four other parcels for a future housing community. The sale is contingent upon Ashton obtaining necessary permits and approvals for the development. The land was originally purchased using park bond funds, and the proceeds from the sale will be used to enhance Patriots Park. STORY 7: Federal Judge Rejects Voter Intimidation Charges Against Conservative Group in Georgia A federal judge in Georgia ruled in favor of the conservative group True the Vote in a lawsuit involving their challenge to over 364,000 voters' eligibility. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones declared that True the Vote's actions did not amount to illegal voter intimidation, as claimed by Fair Fight Action, founded by Democrat Stacey Abrams. True the Vote had filed challenges ahead of the 2020 runoff elections, asserting that voters appeared ineligible due to residency changes. The judge found that the challenges didn't violate the Voting Rights Act, although some aspects of True the Vote's methods were criticized. Season 2 starts with D'Angelo "Black Messiah" and AC/DC's "Power Up" getting a spin on our digital turntables. Brian and Fred review each album and give you The Good, The Bad and The Boogie. Released in 2014 "Black Messiah" by D'Angelo and The Vanguard is the 3rd album and came after a tumulus 14 year absence for D'Angelo. This album received critical acclaim for its neo-funk sound and vocals. "Power Up" is the 17th studio album by Hall of Fame Rock and Rollers, AC/DC. This is the first album to not have Malcom Young on guitar but does feature original drummer Phil Rudd returning to the band to provide it with a solid hard rock recording. Released in November of 2020.

Fresh Kitchen has only been in business for a little over one year and already it is expanding, with plans to open still more stores in the future. Erin Nugent is co founder of Five Seaons. Kicking off with the publication of their eponymous cookbook, Erin and her company have a plan for world domination built around seasonal food availability and a 5th season for those evergreen recipes for all seasons. Malcom Young is Baton Rouge s Pied Piper of Salsa his loyal foodie fans follow his Malco s Magnificent Salsa to the Saturday morning Red Stick Farmer s Market where he regularly sells out. Now they can find Malco s in stores around Baton Rouge, spreading to New Orleans, and like Five Seasons, soon the rest of the world. Placed between the two typically regarded poles of Louisiana cooking New Orleans and Lafayette Baton Rouge is stepping up its culinary business game.
