Need a break from, you know, everything? We're just hiding behind a giant stack of Dynamite magazines, and you're welcome to join us. We've pulled out a Dynamite issue from 1980 with the hosts of That's Incredible on the cover. (Cathy Lee Crosby looks lovely, while Fran Tarkenton and John Davidson are missing some teeth... our copy may have been defaced decades ago by some kid with a Bic pen.) Inside we can read about New Hampshire's Old Man of the Mountain, Gary Coleman's chihuahua, a Billy Joel album that never happened, a vampire maze, Dynamite Bummers, the Dynamite Duo... and an electronic chicken game. We don't know why they kept making magazines after 1980, when it was done to perfection. The Flopcast website! The ESO Network! The Flopcast on Facebook! The Flopcast on Instagram! On Episode 132 of the RETROZEST podcast, Curtis continues RetroZest's celebration of the 40th anniversary of WARGAMES; the first mass-consumed, visual media with the central theme of remote computing as well as hacking! The film stars Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, John Wood, Ally Sheedy and Barry Corbin. Assisting Curtis in this part 2 episode is the supporting actor who portrayed the nurse in the infirmary; Lucinda Sue Crosby! Her scene with supporting actor John Garber is one of the most memorable ones in the film! Lucinda and Curtis had a wonderful behind the scenes dialog about WarGames, and also about other key points of her impressively diverse career. She is the sister of actress Cathy Lee Crosby, and has mostly played small supporting roles in films and on television. In addition to WarGames, her film credits most notably include The Naked Cage, Nothing in Common, Overboard and Pretty Woman. Her many television appearances include The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, The Fall Guy, and T.J. Hooker. She is also a songwriter and an award-winning author!
Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Legendary Actor, Producer and Author, Robert Wagner About Harvey's guest: Robert Wagner is one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, boasting three hit television series and an impressive list of both feature and television films. He has acted in over 100 films and made hundreds of television appearances in his 70+ year career. As a young man under contract to 20th Century Fox, Robert Wagner was cast by Darryl F. Zanuck in With a Song in My Heart. Although the part lasted a scant minute, his performance as a crippled soldier responding to the song of Susan Hayward's Jane Froman brought immediate public reaction to the studio. Spencer Tracy saw his performance in Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef and requested Wagner for the role of his son in Broken Lance. Tracy was so impressed with Wagner, he cast him again as his brother in The Mountain. A small sample of Wagner's numerous film credits includes Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, The Pink Panther, The Curse of the Pink Panther, Midway, The Towering Inferno, Banning, Harper, Prince Valiant, The True Story of Jesse James, and All the Fine Young Cannibals. He starred with Joanne Woodward in her film debut, A Kiss Before Dying. Antonio Banderas directed Wagner in Crazy in Alabama. In the 1990s, he was introduced to a new legion of fans with the role of Number Two, the villainous henchman to Dr. Evil, the archenemy of Mike Myers' title character in the Austin Powers trilogy. On television, Wagner starred in three long-running series. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role as suave cat-burglar Alexander Mundy in It Takes a Thief with Malachi Throne and Fred Astaire. He portrayed con man-turned-detective Pete Ryan in Switch with Eddie Albert and Sharon Gless. And Wagner became a fan favorite as the debonair and charming millionaire/amateur detective Jonathan Hart in Hart to Hart with Stefanie Powers. Other illustrious television performances include starring with Jaclyn Smith in the top-rated miniseries, Windmills of the Gods — based on Sidney Sheldon's best-selling novel; Angie Dickinson in the miniseries Pearl; Audrey Hepburn in Love Among Thieves; Lesley Anne Down in Indiscreet; and Elizabeth Taylor in There Must Be a Pony, which he also executive-produced. He appeared alongside such notable names as Philip Casnoff, Kyle Chandler, Cathy Lee Crosby, Leslie-Ann Down, and Billy Dee Williams in North and South: Book 3, Heaven and Hell. Sir Laurence Olivier chose Wagner to star with him in the television adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Wagner's wife, the late Natalie Wood, co-starred with them. In addition to his film and television ventures, Robert toured the world performing in A.R. Gurney's Love Letters with Stefanie Powers. They were the first to launch the tour internationally. After his tour with Powers ended, Wagner enjoyed the play so much, he continued performing it at charity events and around the world with his wife, actress Jill St. John. Away from the acting world, Robert Wagner has long been a fan of golf and boasted a five handicap. He once beat professional golfer Sam Snead in a head-to-head competition. Footage of this win is posted in the Video section of this page under Additional Videos. The Arrows - I Love Rock 'N' Roll (1976) Produced by Mickie Most. You should read about Mickie Most. Johnny Whitaker - Monster Rock (1973) From the album "Friends, Music from the Television Series 'Sigmund and the Seamonsters'". I said it before and I'll say it again: That cover would be a hard sell in 2020. The Wombles - Banana Rock (1974) Cymbal & Clinger - Rock Me Baby (1972) The same year, David Cassidy had a #38 "hit" with this song. Abba - Rock Me (1975) Bill Haley & The Comets - God Bless Rock & Roll (1979) "My cousin is tripping on LSD and mushrooms, but he wants to make a cover for your next album. Is that ok, Bill? It's in the budget." Blue Öyster Cult - R.U. Ready 2 Rock (Live) (1978) Eric Bloom is one of the great, underrated singers of 70s rock. Starbuck - Drop A Rock (1975) Gene Ammons - Rock-Roll (1956) Schneider with The Kick - Rock and Roll Gypsy (1981)* Ray Manzarek - The Whole Thing Started with Rock and Roll Now It's Out of Control (1974) Joe Walsh on guitar. Claudine Longet - Hey, That's No Way To Say Goodbye (1972) The Cowsills - Wake Up With Milk (1969) That family fucking LOVED milk. Paul Revere and the Raiders - Just Seventeen (1970) Very good. The Cyrkle - Camaro (1967) Pretty good for your 60s ad featuring rock group. They did the soundtrack for the film "The Minx" in 1967, which (unknown to them) was later retooled to include sex scenes for the 1969 audience. Showbiz is the best. The Dave Pell Singers - Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town (1969) Dion - Purple Haze (1968) Elvis Presley - She's A Machine (1968) The Golddiggers - Shuffle Off To Buffalo (1968?) From Wikipedia: The Golddiggers was a female singing and dancing troupe that performed in the style of Las Vegas showgirls. The group was formed in 1968. The act debuted on The Dean Martin Show, and was later featured in a summer replacement television series over three seasons. In addition to backing Martin on his show and in his nightclub act, the group performed on their own on other TV programs, in live venues, and in three of Bob Hope's Christmas tours. Several members of the original (1968–73) troupe continue to perform as "The Golddiggers", while other former group members perform in other acts, in groups or as solo artists. On June 20, 1968, they debuted in their own weekly summer variety series, Dean Martin Presents The Golddiggers. The program was the top-rated series of the 1968 summer season, and returned the following July (1969) – with a somewhat altered lineup of performers – once again serving as the summer replacement series in Dean Martin's Thursday night time slot The Golddiggers recorded three albums, the first in early 1969, when Metromedia Records released “The Golddiggers” (MD1009), and within only a few months, released a second album, “The Golddiggers, We Need a Little Christmas” (MD 1012). In 1971, RCA Corporation released their third album, “The Golddiggers… Today” (LSP-4643). "It got to the point where it got too expensive to have so many girls... they weren't being treated very fairly... It was getting really bad for the girls so they all got together and said, 'We're not going to do this anymore' and they all quit". - Neil Daniels, former NBC VP and founder Dean Martin Fan Center. Jayne Kennedy, host on CBS' NFL Today, was a Golddigger, as well as Cathy Lee Crosby. John Keating - I Feel The Earth Move (1972) ? - People singing jingles. Probably 1975 or so. ? - Ring Dang Doo (?) Manhattan Strings - (Theme From) The Monkees - (1967) "The Italian Stallion" movie ad. The Partridge Family - Summer Days (1971) Scott Walker - Next (1968) Sesame Street Rhyming Stuff

Dave and Chris are back reviewing the icon TV Series pilot Wonder Woman starring Lynda Carter. This was a re-boot of the 1974 pilot starring Cathy Lee Crosby. Luckily Carter’s portrayal born an iconic TV series but does it hold up 44 years later. Plot Summary:During World War II, a plane piloted by Major Steve Trevor crashes near Paradise Island, the secret hidden island home of the mighty and eternally young Amazons. He is rescued by Princess Diana, who learns of the war against the Nazis. The Amazons decide to send one of their own to help fight in this crisis. Although forbidden to participate in the selection process, Diana joins secretly and wins the right and responsibility to go. Taking the still unconscious Major to safety, she joins him as Yeoman Diana Prince. Furthermore, when the forces of evil threaten the nation, Diana would spin to transform into Wonder Wonder, armed with a magic belt giving her tremendous strength, bracelets that can stop any bullet, a tiara that can be thrown as a returning weapon and a unbreakable magic lasso that can force anyone to tell the truth. After WW II, she returned to the Island, only to encounter Steve Trevor Jr., agent for IADC, thirty years later. Seeing the amazing coincidence as a sign, she returns to the Man world once more to resume her role as the greatest of the female superheroes. This week, in anticipation of the next DCEU film WONDER WOMAN, we’re taking a look at the very first attempt at a WONDER WOMAN TV/movie from 1974, starring Cathy Lee Crosby as a blond super spy who may or may not have any tangential relation to the character of Wonder Woman. International intrigue! Pantsuits! Donkeys! And special guest star, Ricardo Montalban! Does this weird genre mashup have any entertainment value today, or did we just waste 75 minutes and $3 to rent it on Amazon? Hey, wait a minute... Wonder Woman? Amazon? What a twist! Today's show: entertainer John Davidson. The family traveled up to Saratoga Springs last month as my wife appeared in the pilot of a TV program called "The Caregiver Connection," following the stories of people involved in health care in America. The pilot was hosted by a guitar-strumming John Davidson, who has been an ubiquitous TV presence since the 1960s, appearing as a host with Fran Tarkenton and Cathy Lee Crosby on the ABC hit THAT'S INCREDIBLE, acting in various TV shows, recording a number of records for the Columbia label and singing and dancing on Broadway in Rodgers and Hammerstein's STATE FAIR and most recently touring as The Wizard in the hit show WICKED. It's been awhile since we've seen John in the spotlight and I wasn't sure what to expect, so it was a pleasant surprise to find the entertainer, now in his 70s, to be such a warm and open human being, taking time after along filming day to sit down and talk about his career, knowing Walt Disney, working with Carol Burnett, Telly Savalas, the Cowardly Lion Bert Lahr, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, growing up as the son of a preacher, playing John Davidson, atheism, hosting THE TONIGHT SHOW, the era of Donald Trump and even performing a few of his original songs for us. You can find out more about what's going on with John today at Johndavidson-dot-com, and thanks to producer Todd Kwait for sharing his insight and talent with The Fun 2 Know podcast.
Wonder Woman makes her first live-action appearance in this 1974 TV movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby. Joined by Rachel Goffinet from Excessive Enthusiasm host James Thompson gets through this strange experience with a blonde Wonder Woman spy with no super powers and "invisible" jet.

One of the hardest working men in podcasting, Gene Hendricks (The Hammer Podcasts, The Quantum Cast, Anime Freaks) drops by to join Chris and Cindy in discussing the infamous 1974 Wonder Woman TV pilot movie starring Cathy Lee Crosby as a very blonde, very non-traditional, not-quite-Amazon Princess! Commentary: Trek Stars: The Work of Star Trek Creators Outside of Star Trek
Black II: Wonder Woman. Over the past 50 years, there have been many successful comic book adaptations for both the big screen and small. But for some reason, the one marquee character which has failed to break through to the mainstream is Wonder Woman. Many writers have tried, with varying results. And the very first of these was Star Trek writer and producer, John D.F. Black. In this episode of Commentary: Trek Stars, Max and Mike take a look at Black's 1974 Wonder Woman pilot, which starred Cathy Lee Crosby, and directly preceded the successful 1975 series starring Lynda Carter. We discuss the origins of the character, how Black's pilot rates among other adaptations, and whether or not current creators are on the cusp of a breakthrough with the character. We also ponder why comic book readers are generally unaccepting of the character.
