Hooker celebrates its 100th year anniversary this year as a leading supplier for furnishings for the total home.  Prior to Hooker, Hipple served Norwalk Furniture for 16 years with business partner, Dixon Bartlett as consultants in its reinvention and as president culminating in paying the investors through the creation of an 100% ESOP in which the employees now own the company. Norwalk Furniture is a leading custom upholstery specialist.   A confessed textile nerd, she and her partner travel the world in search of the best palette of designs and colors and resources that suit the moment, while surprising and delighting the customers they serve. With partner, Dixon Bartlett, she has headed up textile programs for four companies over several decades.  Prior to Norwalk, Caroline and Dixon founded the industry consulting practice, HB2 Resources which helps clients grow their businesses through innovative start-ups and turn-arounds, making invisible strategies, well, visible. A passion of culture development and change management enabled the success of those ventures.  Caroline, along with three executives from This End UP and Storehouse, documented the lessons they learned in culture building and shifting in their 2014 book, A Pathway to Profit (available at Amazon). That got us thinking of Bravo of yesteryear and, as a result, today we share this chat we had during our first year with the one and only Jonathan Antin. We pick up right where we left off during our last sit down. Jonathan explains how he got hired as one of the lead judges on Bravo's Shear Genius after Blow Out had ended. We discuss host Camila Alves and prior host Jaclyn Smith. We also discuss one of Shear Genius' contestants, Tabatha Coffey. Jonathan gives us his opinion of Tabatha, discusses whether he thinks she should have won her season, lets us know if her tough as nails persona is an act or real, and finally answers the question of whether she deserved her own show. Speaking of Bravolebrites, we discuss Jackie Warner's appearance on Blow Out, what went wrong and the status of their relationship today. We also discuss all the other celebrities who appeared on Blow Out such as loyal clients Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin (they had other reality shows in the mix with Jonathan also - we discuss), Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, and, last but not least, sister Robin Antin, founder of The Pussycat Dolls. Jonathan tells some fun stories about his other Celeb clients, Courtney Love, Ricky Martin, Brad Pitt, Steven Tyler, Leo DiCaprio, Gwyneth Paltrow and, way to bury the lead, Queen Madonna (Lourdes in Tow)! We discuss the pressures from Bravo for Jonathan to involve his family in the show and how Blow Out came to an end shortly after his lack of a desire to do so. Finally, Jonathan opens up about the early days of Bravo, the origins of WWHL, his up and down relationship with Andy Cohen and what he thinks of how the network has evolved throughout the years.  @jonathanantin @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope BROUGHT TO YOU BY: QUINCE - quince.com/velvetrope (Get Free Shipping and 365 Day Returns on Elevated Luxury Without Paying Luxury Prices) HONEYLOVE - honeylove.com/velvet (20% Off Entire Order of The Best Shapewear & Bras) PELOTON - onepeloton.com/home-trial (Find Your Zone With a 30 Day Worry-Free Home Trial of Peloton Bikes) WATERBOY- waterboy.com (Use Code Velvet For 15% Off For the Best Hangover Cure That Actually Works) STARBUCKS - (Introducing the New Starbucks Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso! My very special guest for this episode is actress, Jaclyn Smith. She is the epitome of grace and style, and I am blessed to call her my friend. We met for the first time in 1989 here in Miami when she was launching her fragrance, California. But it was 18 years after that, when we met again in Washington, DC where we instantly formed a connection and bond that formed into a very special friendship that's lasted 15 years.I know many of you probably know her best as one of Charlie's Angels, but Jaclyn's career which has spanned nearly four decades, goes beyond that very famous series. As an actress, she's appeared in more than 50 films and TV appearances, she earned a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, and in 1989 she earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.In addition to being an actress, she's a mother to her son Gaston, and daughter Spencer Margaret and now a grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters. Jaclyn is also an entrepreneur who pioneered the concept of celebrity branding. Her clothing line with Kmart spanned 35 years and her line has been worn by over 100 million women. She's now working with RGD Global with a new clothing line that will launch Fall of 22. Her brand also includes a line of wigs with lifelong friend and celebrity hairstylist, Jose Eber, a line of home décor fabrics with Trend Fabrics, and a skincare line that was developed in collaboration with her husband, Dr. Brad Allen. If you're a fan of Jaclyn, this is one angelic conversation you don't want to miss. You can watch the full video episode on my YouTube Channel - Jeanette Melian.Follow me on Social Media - Instagram and Facebook @jeanettemeliancoachingVisit my website - www.jeanettemelian.com

You may have heard her referred to as the Jaclyn Smith of Great Neck.Apart from that, as one of America's top doctors, Dr. Shapiro sets the record straight on skating with Dave Price and on some medical myths. We could not wait to get her on the show to tell her side of the Dave Price skating story ( in episode 29), and so we read up on Nina as fast as we could. We were floored. She is the go to physician in LA and around the world for the treatment of truly challenging cases in Pediatric Otolaryngology and she is a brilliant and calming voice in the medical world in general. We liked her so much that after the recording we asked if we could be best friends (not kidding) and she made us like Dave Price even more.Read all about Nina and her 3 books here: http://drninashapiro.com and you can find all of her social media and media appearances there too. This podcast is not affiliated with or sponsored by Cornell University.

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Legendary Actor, Producer and Author, Robert Wagner About Harvey's guest: Robert Wagner is one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, boasting three hit television series and an impressive list of both feature and television films.  He has acted in over 100 films and made hundreds of television appearances in his 70+ year career.   As a young man under contract to 20th Century Fox, Robert Wagner was cast by Darryl F. Zanuck in With a Song in My Heart. Although the part lasted a scant minute, his performance as a crippled soldier responding to the song of Susan Hayward's Jane Froman brought immediate public reaction to the studio. Spencer Tracy saw his performance in Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef and requested Wagner for the role of his son in Broken Lance. Tracy was so impressed with Wagner, he cast him again as his brother in The Mountain. A small sample of Wagner's numerous film credits includes Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, The Pink Panther, The Curse of the Pink Panther, Midway, The Towering Inferno, Banning, Harper, Prince Valiant, The True Story of Jesse James, and All the Fine Young Cannibals. He starred with Joanne Woodward in her film debut, A Kiss Before Dying.  Antonio Banderas directed Wagner in Crazy in Alabama.  In the 1990s, he was introduced to a new legion of fans with the role of Number Two, the villainous henchman to Dr. Evil, the archenemy of Mike Myers' title character in the Austin Powers trilogy.  On television, Wagner starred in three long-running series.  He was nominated for an Emmy for his role as suave cat-burglar Alexander Mundy in It Takes a Thief with Malachi Throne and Fred Astaire.  He portrayed con man-turned-detective Pete Ryan in Switch with Eddie Albert and Sharon Gless.  And Wagner became a fan favorite as the debonair and charming millionaire/amateur detective Jonathan Hart in Hart to Hart with Stefanie Powers. Other illustrious television performances include starring with Jaclyn Smith in the top-rated miniseries, Windmills of the Gods — based on Sidney Sheldon's best-selling novel; Angie Dickinson in the miniseries Pearl; Audrey Hepburn in Love Among Thieves; Lesley Anne Down in Indiscreet; and Elizabeth Taylor in There Must Be a Pony, which he also executive-produced. He appeared alongside such notable names as Philip Casnoff, Kyle Chandler, Cathy Lee Crosby, Leslie-Ann Down, and Billy Dee Williams in North and South: Book 3, Heaven and Hell.  Sir Laurence Olivier chose Wagner to star with him in the television adaptation of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.  Wagner's wife, the late Natalie Wood, co-starred with them. In addition to his film and television ventures, Robert toured the world performing in A.R. Gurney's Love Letters with Stefanie Powers.  They were the first to launch the tour internationally. After his tour with Powers ended, Wagner enjoyed the play so much, he continued performing it at charity events and around the world with his wife, actress Jill St. John. Away from the acting world, Robert Wagner has long been a fan of golf and boasted a five handicap. He once beat professional golfer  Sam Snead in a head-to-head competition.  Footage of this win is posted in the Video section of this page under Additional Videos.  For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/https://www.robert-wagner.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/277363364879/ https://www.instagram.com/robertwagnerofficial/#RobertWagner    #harveybrownstoneinterviews

Leftoverture is the fourth and most commercially successful studio album by Kansas.  Formed out of a complex merger between a band called Saratoga and a prog rock outfit called White Clover, Kansas takes its name from the band's state of origin, as their start was in Topeka.  The band consisted of Steve Walsh (keyboards, vibraphone, vocals), Kerry Livgren (electric guitar and keyboards), Robby Steinhardt (violin, viola, vocals), Rich Williams (electric and acoustic guitars), Dave Hope (bass), and Phil Ehart (drums).Kansas had achieved some success with their first three albums, but had failed to have a hit single.  As the record company began applying pressure to the band to secure a hit, Steve Walsh began to experience writers block.  Much of the songwriting for Leftoverture fell to guitarist Kerry Livgren, who wrote or co-wrote all the songs on the album.  On the last rehearsal day, he contributed one more song, "Carry On Wayward Son," which would become the groups first hit.The album itself continues a progressive streak established by prior albums through pieces like the multi-part, 8+ minute closing track, "Magnum Opus," but brings a more accessible commercial appeal through songs like "The Wall" and "Carry On Wayward Son."  This album and the follow-up "Point of Know Return" would push Kansas into national prominence for arena tours and on the Album-Oriented Rock scene.Creative differences would eventually drive several members to split from the group in the 80's, but the band would reform by 1985 and continues to tour as of 2021.  Carry On Wayward SonThe  hook-laden opening track features Kerry Livgren on lead vocals.  Livgren wrote the track and considered this song a continuation of the song "The Pinnacle" from their previous album.  The WallNot released as a single, this introspective track is a deep cut both from a commercial and spiritual standpoint.  Livgren was in the process of becoming a Christian at the time, and while not written with an overtly Christian message you sense the searching nature regardless. What's On My MindThis jam features violinist Robby Steinhardt on vocals, and has a theme of a break-up.  The singer is recounting the path of the relationship.  "Pardon me, my feelings are showing.  I'm only saying what's on my mind."Miracles Out of NowhereThis song has Steinhardt and Livgren swapping off on lyrics.  There is a mystical, fantasy feel that hearkens to their prog-rock roots.  "Here I am, I'm sure to see a sign.  All my life, I knew that it was mine.  It's always here, it's always there, it's just love and miracles out of nowhere."  And you can't go wrong ending the song with a gong! ENTERTAINMENT TRACK:Theme from the television series “Charlie's Angels""Once upon a time, there were three little girls who went to the police academy."  And Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Farrah Fawcett-Majors would grace posters around the US for some time. STAFF PICKS:Smokin' by BostonBruce launches the staff picks with a rocking number never released as a single.  Nevertheless, it is well known from Boston's debut album, as is virtually every track on that masterpiece.  Brad Delp and Tom Scholz co-wrote this song as part of the "Mothers' Milk" demos from 1973.  Rock 'n' Rollers  by AngelWayne's tune is off the eponymously named first album by Angel.  It is a straightforward rock song about attending a rock concert.  Gene Simmons of Kiss discovered the band who dressed all in white.  The Angel logo was made as an ambigram, so it looked the same either right side up or upside down. Roxy Roller by Nick Guilder and Time MachineRob's glam rock staff pick is from Nick Guilder, better known for "Hot Child in the City."  Four versions of this song came out in 1976, this one and three from three different lead singers of the band Sweeny Todd, one of which was a teenager named Bryan Adams.Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster CultBrian's pick is famous as the song with more cowbell!  Buck Dharma received a lot of criticism for this song from people who believed it encouraged suicide.  In reality it was about not fearing death - not living because of being anxious about the end of life.  The spirit carries on.   INSTRUMENTAL TRACK:Magnum Opus by KansasThis double dipping instrumental is the first movement of an 8-minute epic off Leftoverture.  It's subtitle is "Father Padilla Meets the Perfect Gnat."  We'll just leave it there.

WELCOME TO NEW YORK'S LEGENDARY HOTEL FOR WOMEN Liberated from home and hearth by World War I, politically enfranchised and ready to work, women arrived to take their place in the dazzling new skyscrapers of Manhattan. But they did not want to stay in uncomfortable boarding houses. They wanted what men already had—exclusive residential hotels with daily maid service, cultural programs, workout rooms, and private dining. Built in 1927 at the height of the Roaring Twenties, the Barbizon Hotel was intended as a safe haven for the “Modern Woman” seeking a career in the arts. It became the place to stay for any ambitious young woman hoping for fame and fortune. Sylvia Plath fictionalized her time there in The Bell Jar, and, over the years, its almost 700 tiny rooms with matching floral curtains and bedspreads housed Titanic survivor Molly Brown; actresses Grace Kelly, Liza Minnelli, Ali MacGraw, Jaclyn Smith, Phylicia Rashad, and Cybill Shepherd; writers Joan Didion, Diane Johnson, Gael Greene, and Meg Wolitzer; and many more. Mademoiselle magazine boarded its summer interns there, as did Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School its students and the Ford Modeling Agency its young models. Before the hotel's residents were household names, they were young women arriving at the Barbizon with a suitcase and a dream. Not everyone who passed through the Barbizon's doors was destined for success—for some it was a story of dashed hopes—but until 1981, when men were finally let in, the Barbizon offered its residents a room of their own and a life without family obligations or expectations. It gave women a chance to remake themselves however they pleased; it was the hotel that set them free. No place had existed like it before or has since. Beautifully written and impeccably researched, The Barbizon weaves together a tale that has, until now, never been told. It is both a vivid portrait of the lives of these young women who came to New York looking for something more, and an epic history of women's ambition --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/pbliving/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/pbliving/support

Did everyone watch Watch What Happens Live last night with all our friends from the past including Mr. Jonathan Antin. Well, Jonathan Antin steps back Behind The Rope (If you haven’t checked out our Part I sit down with Blow Out’s Jonathan Antin, feel free to do so Airdate November 4th, 2020). We pick up right where we left off during our last sit down. Jonathan explains how he got hired as one of the lead judges on Bravo’s Shear Genius after Blow Out had ended. Speaking of Bravolebrites, we discuss Jackie Warner’s appearance on Blow Out, what went wrong and the status of their relationship today. Finally, Jonathan opens up about that one time she went into Andy Cohen's office and pitched an idea for a talk show on Bravo. A few months later, Watch What Happens Live was born, much to Jonathan’s surprise. Hmm, interesting. Well, Jonathan thinks so too. We discuss. That must have made for an interesting “back stage” reunion” at WWHL last night!@jonathanantin@behindvelvetrope@davidyontefBonus Episodes Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetropeBrought to you by Better HELP https://www.betterhelp.com/velvetrope (10% Off First Month - Use Code "velvet rope") Merch Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

content: Jan 23, 2018 · podcast: Mar 9, 2021 Audio (MP3): 20180123 - Why I never answer my cell phone A few years back someone by the name of Floyd inadvertently gave my cell number to his insurance agent. And then that domino’ed into my number getting on every insurance company’s call list. I’ve tried being nice to them, tried asking them to put me on their DO NOT call list. I’ve tried being mean, tried being funny, tried all sorts of things to get them to just stop. I even told them for a while that Floyd was dead and didn’t need insurance anymore. But once you get on any kind of insurance call or mailing list, you’re screwed. You might as well throw your phone in a dumpster, shave your head, and go live the monkeys. It won’t matter that you’re not Floyd. They’ll find you and call you from Troy, NY and from Arlington, MA and from La Grange, IL and from even from La Habra, CA. Same goes for car dealerships. I get about five emails a week asking if I want to renew the manufacturer’s warranty for the Nissan Cube I bought in 2011. They’ll even throw in a free oil change. I don’t even own the Cube anymore. Last sales guy that called me, I told him that Cube was the biggest piece of shit I’d ever owned. Please note: this is why I never answer my cell phone. Even if the caller ID says that you’re in my contacts, I won’t believe it. One time an incoming call came up with my mom’s number and it turned out to be Jaclyn Smith. Okay, that’s a lie but man, did you guys ever watch her in Charlie's Angels? Never mind, Jaclyn has nothing to do with Floyd. I looked up Floyd once on my lunch break. I can’t remember his last name but I do remember that he is/was a doctor. Dr. Floyd. Probably watching Netflix and filing out a GEICO car insurance quote and then typo’ed his cell number. That’s the kinda thing that happens when all your appointments get filled for the day and you throw a fit. I don’t know if Dr. Floyd is still alive or not. He’s dead to me. Him and the insurance he rode in on. Anyways, below is a script I tend to use if I’m feeling feisty and an unknown caller rings me for Floyd. Season to taste but use your best southern goofball accent: “Floyd? Well no, Floyd can’t come to the phone right now. He’s over in county lockup. He’s framed a course. He didn’t steal those 12 quarts a syrup like Randy said. He knew about Randy’s plan ahead a time but jus knowin’ don’t make ya a maple thief! I don’t really blame ol’ Randy for wanting to steal all that syrup. Boy, I do like that, that syrup from the Walmart.” If the caller is still with me I continue with: “Well hell, ya probably jus wanna talk with Floyd. If ya got a pen I can give you his address over at county. What was your name again? Ya sound familiar. Were ya at the Earlville Country Club last weekend?” PS- If I go off on a Charlie's Angels tangent for a few days, this is why. After spending less than 20 years in the business I am now known as an Icon, A Legend and  The world's most famous stunt woman. My peers have labeled me with  these discriptions  because of the hard stunts I successfully completed  and the big movies and tv series I worked on during the 70s and 80s., The fact that I'm still walking and talking after the difficult  stunts I completed while wearing little clothes and no padding on most of them.. very few men or women worked 199 days a year doing daily jobs...and very few men or women did all the different types of stunts I have done with cars, animals, including wild animals, horses , dogs etc, high falls, fight scenes, helicopters, planes, water work, car hits. I was the only woman in 1977 that was given the job as co-coordinator of a major motion picture called " Airport 77 " while also stunt doubling the lead actress and playing a part in the movie."  I also followed that with doing many other coordinating jobs by myself,  including one movie of the week.. In those years very few wemon we're even given the opportunity to coordinate.. Some of the women I stunt doubled for were:; Farrah Fawcett ,Cheryl Ladd ,Janet Leigh ,Stockard Channing ,Faye Grant ,Faye Dunaway ,Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson and many more through the years. Some of the movies I did we're : Jaws2, Airport 77, Blues Brothers, Cujo, The End, Charlie's Angels tv series, "V", Mash,Swatt,  on and on. Doing stuntwork, doing acting parts, and stunt co ordinating. I was one of three womenn that had been considered for an all men's stunt group called Stunts Unlimited. I also developed, financed and promoted a camera car business , which is still working today called "Camera Cars Unlimited".

Laws are supposed to keep things in order. How, then, do they get so complex that they cause headaches - or worse - for the construction industry? In this podcast, Jaclyn Smith is joined by her fellow SCL Australia directors, Matthew Bell (Melbourne Law School), Dr Sean Brady (Brady Heywood) and Laina Chan (3 Wentworth Chambers). They focus on construction industry security of payment laws: brought in to crack a seemingly simple nut of keeping cashflow moving, these laws have mutated into a multi-headed beast in Australia. There does, however, finally seem to be some hope that this monster might be tamed by way of a federal review being undertaken during 2017. In this podcast, Jaclyn Smith is joined by her fellow SoCLA directors, Dr Sean Brady (Brady Heywood), Matthew Bell (Melbourne Law School) and Kara Vague (Downer) to discuss the human element in construction projects. ROBERT WAGNER TALKS ABOUT HIS BOOK YOU MUST REMEMBER THISRobert Wagner is one of the most popular and successful stars in the entertainment industry, boasting three hit series and an impressive list of both feature and television films. As a young man under contract to 20th Century Fox, Wagner was cast by Darryl F. Zanuck in "With a Song in My Heart." Although the part lasted a scant minute, his performance as a crippled soldier responding to the song of Susan Hayward brought immediate public reaction to the studio. Spencer Tracy saw him in "Beneath the Twelve Mile Reef" and requested Wagner for the role of his son in "Broken Lance." Tracy was so impressed with Wagner, he cast him as his brother again in "The Mountain." A small sample of his numerous film credits includes "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story," "The Pink Panther," "The Curse of the Pink Panther," "Midway," "The Towering Inferno," "Banning," "Harper," "Prince Valiant," "The True Story of Jesse James," and "All the Fine Young Cannibals." He recently re-created his role of "Number Two," the villainous henchman to Dr. Evil, the archenemy of Mike Myers' title character in "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me." Antonio Banderas also directed Wagner in "Crazy in Alabama." In 1998, the actor was in "Wild Things," starring Matt Dillon and Kevin Bacon. On television, Wagner has starred on three long-running series, "It Takes a Thief," with Fred Astaire, "Switch," with Eddie Albert and Sharon Gless and "Hart to Hart," with Stefanie Powers. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Alexander Mundy in "It Takes a Thief". Since the end of the regular run of the series, the actor has produced eight "Hart to Hart" movies for both NBC and cable's Family Channel. He also starred with Jaclyn Smith in the top-rated miniseries "Windmills of the Gods," based on Sidney Sheldon's best-selling novel; with Angie Dickinson in the miniseries "Pearl"; with Audrey Hepburn in "Love among Thieves"; with Lesley Anne Down in "Indiscreet" and in "North and South III," with Joanne Woodward in "A Kiss Before Dying"; and with Elizabeth Taylor in "There Must Be a Pony," which he also executive-produced. Wagner was chosen by Sir Laurence Olivier to star with him in the television adaptation of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," in which he costarred with his wife, the late Natalie Wood. Wagner also teamed up with Sir Laurence Oliver in "This Gun for Hire," Danielle Steel's "Jewels" and "To Catch a King."In addition to all his film and television ventures, Wagner has toured the world performing A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters", with Stefanie Powers, who were the first to launch the tour Internationally. Currently, Wagner performs "Love Letters" at charity events with his wife, actress Jill St. John.Wagner enjoys golfing and spending time with his 3 daughters, Katie (Television Personality), Natasha (Actress) and Courtney (Artist). The legendary actor and bestselling author of Pieces of My Heart offers a nostalgic look at Hollywood's golden age! With a career spanning more than five decades, few actors are more qualified to recount the glamorous Hollywood era of the late 1940s and early 1950s than Robert Wagner. You Must Remember This is Wagner's ode to a bygone age, to its incomparable style and how it was displayed, and to its legendary stars.Wagner revisits the houses, restaurants, and other haunts of Hollywood's elite, offering an intimate view of their lives on and off screen. He fondly recounts mythic figures simply entertaining at home among friends, away from the publicity machine and public eye that morphed into today's paparazzi culture. Wagner also discusses the business of Hollywood and its evolution from an industry once dominated by moguls to one run by agents, and examines the career arcs of his peers, carefully considering why some survived and others faded.Engaging and entertaining, You Must Remember This is a window into the splendors of an erstwhile era and an opportunity for readers to live vicariously through one its most beloved leading men.WWW.ROBERT-WAGNER.COMBILL MEDLEY – THE RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS - THE TIME OF MY LIFE Bill Medley's indelible baritone adorns some of the biggest hits of the twentieth century—"You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "(You're My) Soul and Inspiration," "Rock and Roll Heaven"—and is prominent on the soundtrack of an entire generation. He and his musical partner, the late inimitable Bobby Hatfield, formed the Righteous Brothers in 1963 and forever changed the sound of popular music. The term "blue-eyed soul" was born. After the Phil Spector-produced "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" hit #1 in 1964 and Bobby Hatfield's sweeping solo vocal turn on "Unchained Melody" enchanted millions, the Righteous Brothers found themselves in the thick of the musical and cultural changes sweeping the nation. They toured with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, became friends with Elvis Presley and the Beach Boys, and brought rhythm and blues to the largest cross-over audience it had reached to date. The Time of My Life is an affecting and vivid memoir of those times and beyond, an unvarnished look at Bill Medley's personal triumphs and tragedies through the filter of five decades of musical, television, motion picture, and live-performance success. Medley opens his head and his heart, sharing his thoughts and feelings about the great African-American music that inspired him, his loving yet tumultuous and complicated relationship with Bobby Hatfield, the murder of his first wife Karen and his struggle to raise their son alone, his close friendship with Elvis and its sad ending, his deep depression over losing his voice (and how he got it back), his smash duet with Jennifer Warnes on "(I've Had) the Time of My Life" for the Dirty Dancingsoundtrack, and how he learned to settle down and become a family man and enjoy a nearly thirty-year (and counting) marriage. But Medley's story isn't just about the #1 hits and the awards. It's the story of an immensely talented young guy who lived the rock star life and reached the pinnacle of fame, success, and excess, and how he was eventually able to renew his commitment to both his faith and his family.WWW.BILLMEDLEY.COM
