The Foundlings is the pilot tv movie for the beloved tv series BJ and the Bear. It ran for three seasons in the late 1970s, turning Greg Evigan into a household name. The tv show was born of the CB radio and trucking craze. Throw in an adorable Chimpanzee named Bear, and voila! TV magic is born. https://filmboards.com/board/t/bear-mean-monkey-1645495/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B._J._and_the_Bear https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078564/?ref_=ttep_ov https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078564/ https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0077196/?ref_=ttep_ep0 https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0263760/?ref_=tt_cl_t_1 https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0015391/?ref_=tt_cl_t_18 https://nbc.fandom.com/wiki/B._J._and_the_Bear https://tvdatabase.fandom.com/wiki/B.J._and_the_Bear:_The_Foundlings https://doyouremember.com/156971/b-j-and-the-bear-cast-then-now#google_vignette https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062567/?ref_=nm_flmg_t_1_act

The year was 1987 and comedies about multiple straight men raising children together and acting domestic was all the rage! That year saw the movie Three Men and a Baby, the start of Full House…but wait, there was one more lesser known show to hit the airwaves: My Two Dads! Starring Paul Reiser and Greg Evigan as the two dads, and Staci Keanan as the daughter who enters their lives by surprise at the age of 12. Her mother passed away and left her to the care of these two men in her will, because one of them is the biological father—but nobody knows which one. Oh, and the judge who presided over allowing this to actually happen also becomes their landlord. There is so much glitter scattered all over the cave this time after we watched two movies that center around the workers at strip clubs. In both movies, there are mysterious deaths occuring, the police are called in, and clothes are discarded...these are pure 80's nonsense and great examples of the sort of low-budget filmmaking that was happening back then. Both films are written and directed by the completely bad-ass Katt Shea and produced by none other than Mr Roger Corman himself! We start with "Stripped to Kill" from 1987 which has the always-reliable and gorgeous Kay Lenz in the lead, playing opposite BJ and the Bear leading man Greg Evigan. Lenz is a police officer who goes undercover as a stripper to try to find out who is killing the other dancers. It does a lot with it's miniscule budget and is totally worth checking out. We also watched the sequel, appropriately titled "Stripped to Kill 2: Live Girls" with Maria Ford taking over the lead role. Ford's character is a stripper who keeps having weird nightmares and waking up to find that one of her fellow dancers has turned up dead. This one is less successful than the first but there are moments throughout that make it worth watching. We then proceed to list the various things we've been watching for fun. Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes. You can email us at flickersfrom@yahoo.com or flickersfrom@gmail.com. Created at a time when the CB trucking craze swept America, the TV series B.J. and the Bear made its star Greg Evigan a heartthrob to female viewers.
(02-20-2020) - Remember that TV show about a trucker who travels with a chimp? BJ and the Bear played for a few seasons on NBC in the late 70s. Greg Evigan played BJ McKay, the aforementioned trucker. He joined Randy and Hot Rod Bob at the Hollywood Show in LA.....tells us the story of the 60 Bonneville that didn't want to stop, the close call while filming in the truck...with the monkey. THEN from the Grand National Roadster show, they chat with Tom and Blaine Stark from Precision Designs about building 30's era Ford Trucks...and Junior drag racing. Beave and Len started out this podcast episode with the best of intentions, but once they learned about the seminal 1987 sexploitation classic "Stripped To Kill", ALL BETS ARE OFF. Marvel at their deep dive into the strong character work of Kay Lenz, Greg Evigan and Norman Fell, as well as the directing genius of the great Katt Shea! Oh and they also talk Chicago Sky, MLB, and the NBA Finals as well. Plus "I Recommend", the 80s music bracket, and album reviews of Toots and the Maytals and Sly & The Family Stone. Put some Jagbags in your ear!
It may be hard for some of us to believe, but this past Valentine's Day – Feb 14, 2022 – marked the 50th Anniversary of the New York opening of the musical GREASE, at the Eden Theater on 2nd Avenue. And next week, June 7, will mark the 50th Anniversary of its official move to Broadway. My guests this week are that Grease's original producer, Ken Waissman, and original director, Tom Moore, who along with Adrienne Barbeau (the original “Rizzo”) are the editors of the new book : Grease – Tell Me More, Tell Me More – Stories From The Broadway Phenomenon That Started It All. Ken Waisman is a Tony Award winning producer who made his Broadway debut with the play And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little. In addition to Grease he went on to produce Over Here! starring the Andrews Sisters, and the long running plays Agnes Of God, and Torch Song Trilogy. Tom Moore is a leading theater, film and television director whose work on Broadway includes his debut with Grease, Over Here!, Moon Over Buffalo starring Carol Burnett, and Night Mother. Their new book is made up of a the personal, behind-the-scenes memories of the show's creative and production teams, as well as scores of cast members from Grease's original cast, five national tours, and record breaking eight-year run on Broadway. In this episode you will hear about how Ken discovered the show in a ramshackle community theater production in Chicago; why Ken chose Tom to direct the show instead of Michael Bennett; how Tom almost turned the show down; and how together they discovered and cast more future stars than probably any other musical in history! Grease alumni include Adrianne Barbeau, Barry Bostwick, Jeff Conaway, Carole Demas, Greg Evigan, Peter Gallagher, Richard Gere, Marilu Henner, Judy Kaye, Rex Smith, Patrick Swayze, John Travolta, Treat Williams, and Adrian Zmed. As well as the future Broadway directors Walter Bobbie, Scott Ellis, and Jerry Zaks. Has any other show produced that many stars? Even if Grease is not your favorite show, I feel certain that you will be fascinated by their stories of how the show came together, as well as the casting stories of John Travolta, Patrick Swayze and Richard Gere. Broadway Nation is written and produced by me, David Armstrong. Researchers say that answers can be found in ghost hunting. What is the evidence, and what has been found to support the assertion that our souls continue on after death? Some evidence does seem to indicate truth to the horror like aspect belonging to alleged poltergeists, but on the contrary, there are also inspiring contact experiences giving hope to those who fear death. Joining me this week in the first hour is paranormal investigator Rick McCallum; followed by supernatural adventurer Paul Eno! We hear quite the varying perspectives and interpretations of the phenomena, including pontifications on time travel, purpose of living, entity encounters and ultimately a hopeful message.Metaphysics • Spirituality • Philosophy • HauntingsRick McCallum:Rick has been a professional stuntman, actor and stunt coordinator for over 35 years, and has more than 75 movie and TV projects to his name. He has been in many horror movies, most notably Hatchet 2 where he is chain sawed in half by his best friend Kane ( hey, what are friends for?) He frequently played monsters or paranormal characters. He has stunt doubled for many well-known actors, including Barry Bostwick, Oliver Platt, Christopher Noth, and Greg Evigan among many others.Rick's real passion is the paranormal which began at age 13and has been a lifelong pursuit. While working on a movie in Mansfield Reformatory, a very haunted prison in Ohio, he and Kane Hodder( Jason Voorhees in Friday 13th Parts 7,8,9,and 10) discovered a mutual interest in the paranormal and founded the Hollywood Ghost Huntershttp://www.rickmccallum.com/Paul Eno:Now celebrating over 50 years in paranormal research, Paul Eno is one of the world's most experienced and controversial supernatural adventurers. One of the first ghost investigators of the early 1970s, beginning while he was studying for the priesthood, his theories and methods are now shaking the paranormal world to its core. When he began running into UFOs during ghost cases in the late 1970s, he began to develop the idea of the “flap area,” later discovering that paranormal legends Dr. Jacques Vallee and John Keel had already suggested the idea. www.BehindTheParanormal.comAlien Coffee Bean discount code: MYSTERY20 • https://aliencoffeebean.comLINK TREE: https://linktr.ee/CoffeeandUFOsYOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/paranormalpopTWITTER: https://twitter.com/Paranormal_NowINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/paranormalnowFACEBOOK: http://www.facebook.com/paranormalnowradioWEBSITE: https://www.paranormalnow.netYou can support the channel by becoming a patron: https://www.patreon.com/paranormalpopThank you!Opinions shared in this content do not necessarily reflect those of the host.#haunted #ghosts #nde

#27 T R Assmagik - Richard is still reeling from the lurgy he had in last week's show and his guest is also not very well, it's Mark Gatiss from off of The League of Gentlemen and Fear of Fanny. Inevitably there is a lot of discussion about obscure 1970s TV and Tim from The Office being in Sherlock and you'll find out which Doctor Who monster Mark would most like to have sex with. But other questions include: How did Mark prepare for the role that made him famous, the voice of Greg Evigan on TMWRNJ? What characters DIDN'T make it into The League of Gentlemen? What is the biggest fossil that he has ever discovered? Should Rich buy a metal detector? And there's a terrifying real-life ghost story, and more on conspiracy theories. It's gentle and largely dignified, as one would expect from two middle-aged men with colds and bad backs.SUPPORT THE SHOW!Watch our TWITCH CHANNELBecome a badger and see extra content at our WEBSITESee details of the RHLSTP TOUR DATESBuy DVDs and Books from GO FASTER STRIPE See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Girls! Girls! Girls! This week we’re talking about Katt Shea’s STRIPPED TO KILL! Kay Lenz stars as a detective who goes undercover at a strip club after she stumbles across one of the dancers being murdered. Is it the mysterious patron Pocket? One of the other dancers? A retired sleazy cop? It sort of has an American giallo thing going on and we loved it. The supporting cast of Pia Kamakahi, Tracey Crowder, Debbie Nassar, Lucia Lexington, Athena Worthy and Carlye Byron are all fantastic and Greg Evigan as the partner/love interest is charming. The cast all have chemistry, the characters are fleshed out and have dimensions and overall, its a real treat! Director’s Cut please? Haha, rice… I get it!

The guys are in full October swing, doing their first-ever critiques of fine art and classic film. Their first subject? Greg Evigan and "Deepstar Six" -- a movie full of hairspray, B-level actors and nuclear bombs. Sadly, what it doesn't have is water...But no movie would be complete without snacks, so the guys warm up by covering three food headlines that will make you think twice about dining in the UK.#PodernFamily #GregEvigan

After a couple weeks off because Mack got married, Columboys is back with a brand new episode, and by new I mean it's an episode that was recorded two months ago about a show that was released in 1992. This time Tyne Daly and Greg Evigan (or as my spellcheck would rather I typed: Tyre Day and Greg Evian) are unintentional conspirators in the murder of a football team owner. It's a fun episode!
The plot of DeepStar Six involves a team of eleven scientists working for the US Navy is constructing a facility stationed six miles beneath the surface of the ocean for the launching of nuclear missiles. They discover they are building atop what appears to be a vast underground cavern. The Navy might scrap the project if they don't complete it before their six-month stint is up. Once they destroy the cavern, they discover that they aren't alone down there, as some strange and massive prehistoric arthropod creature begins to attack their undersea vehicles. Nancy Everhard, Greg Evigan, Miguel Ferrer, Taurean Blacque, Nia Peeples, and Matt McCoy star. Erratum: Apologies to Harry Manfredini for calling him "Henry" in this episode.
Another full week on #BTLRadioShow as we continue our discussion on A THOUSAND MILES BEHIND with actor JEFFREY DOORNBOS who joins us live, plus our exclusive pre-recorded interview with writer/director JOSHUA CALDWELL as we talk about his new hot-button film INFAMOUS. He was unable to join us last week along with his director Nathan Wetherington, but actor JEFFREY DOORNBOS is with us live talking about getting into character, finding the soul of "Preston", and his performance in the powerful A THOUSAND MILES BEHIND. A longtime member of the acclaimed Blue Man Group in New York City, Jeffrey talks about how the creativity and lack of dialogue in his Blue Man performances proved an asset when finding the character of Preston in this film, as well as discussing working with Greg Evigan, Vanessa Campbell, and that Scrambler Ducati motorcycle, itself a character in the film. Jeffrey has some insightful thoughts on working with cinematographer Keith Dunkerley on becoming both one with the camera and distancing oneself while finding the emotional journey of the character and the film. A very interesting and fun conversation with Jeffrey! But before Jeffrey joins us, take a listen to our exclusive in-depth conversation with writer/director JOSHUA CALDWELL talking his latest film INFAMOUS. Timely and topical, INFAMOUS takes on even greater significance in light of recent socio-political events as we meet the characters "Arielle" and "Dean" who head off on a cross-country crime spree a la 21st-century Bonnie & Clyde. Fueling Arielle's fire is her obsession with social media fame, something upon which Joshua builds not only the story and the character, but the film's visuals. We leave no stone unturned as we delve into every level of storytelling from story and societal commentary to score to needle drops to cinematography and the use of handheld camera to color and costume to editing. It's wonderful to reconnect with Joshua and talk about his growth as a filmmaker and in bringing his voice to the forefront with INFAMOUS. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

During her 35-year career at NASA and its predecessor, she earned a reputation for mastering complex manual calculations and helped pioneer the use of computers to perform the tasks. The space agency noted her "historical role as one of the first African-American women to work as a NASA scientist." Johnson's work included calculating trajectories, launch windows and emergency return paths for Project Mercury spaceflights, including those for astronauts Alan Shepard, the first American in space, and John Glenn, the first American in orbit, and rendezvous paths for the ApolloLunar Module and command module on flights to the Moon. Her calculations were also essential to the beginning of the Space Shuttle program, and she worked on plans for a mission to Mars. In 2015, President Barack Obama awarded Johnson the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was portrayed by Taraji P. Henson as a lead character in the 2016 film Hidden Figures. In 2019, Johnson was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal. Johnson died at a retirement home in Newport News, at age 101. The cheat code gives you different perks, depending on the game. Hashimoto had inadvertently created it while bringing the arcade version of Gradius to the NES in 1986. Hashimoto knew the arcade version of the game was hard and he would likely not finish it, so he added a sequence of button presses that he could easily remember that gave the ship he controlled in the game the full range of power-ups so that he could easily complete the game for in-house testing purposes. He had intended to remove the programming code for that sequence before the game was shipped, but the game had shipped with the code included. Since then, the Konami code is not only used across other video games from other developers and publishers in similar manners, but as Easter eggs in other forms of media. His death reported by both Konami and by Hashimoto's friend Yuji Takenouchi , a composer and video game sound designer, who tweeted that the code creator died.22 February 2020 – 81 year old man became the oldest man to sail around the world - https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-22/bill-hatfield-oldest-person-to-sail-solo-around-the-world/11991436?fbclid=IwAR0r50t6ZI5eHnBuMxqkmgfPTlUiarwhHzVFFPZo5OrKRR4aI95ezGw6Ll0After four attempts, Bill Hatfield has become the oldest person to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world. The 81-year-old completed his eight-month journey on Saturday morning, sailing into The Spit on the Gold Coast in his 38-foot yacht L'Eau Commotion. The former fisherman from Bundaberg said he'd been dreaming of this achievement since he was seven years old. Mr Hatfield said he lived on strict rations while at sea. "For fresh water I had a desalinator that pumps through a membrane, and my daily diet was a third of a tin of beans, a tin of tuna, 100 grams of rice and flour and oats, and 150 grams of milk powder." The achievement is all the more impressive considering he sailed west, battling against the prevailing winds and currents.22 February 2020 – Michael Hughes popularly known as "Mad" Mike Hughes passed away - https://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2020-02-22/bill-hatfield-oldest-person-to-sail-solo-around-the-world/11991436?fbclid=IwAR0r50t6ZI5eHnBuMxqkmgfPTlUiarwhHzVFFPZo5OrKRR4aI95ezGw6Ll0Hughes, a self-styled daredevil, flat-Earth theorist and limousine-jumping stuntman, died Saturday when his crudely built contraption propelled him on a column of steam, spiraled through the air and cratered into the sagebrush. The rocket’s green parachute tore away moments after takeoff, sending the crowd of 50 or so people into a panic. In March 2018, Mr Hughes propelled himself almost 600m into the air before a hard landing in the Mojave Desert. After professing his belief in a flat Earth later that year, Hughes gained support within the flat-Earth community. His post-flat-Earth fundraising campaign made its $7,875 goal. He had said he intended to make multiple rocket journeys, culminating in a flight to outer space, where he believed he would be able to take a picture of the entire Earth as a flat disc. He died in Barstow, California at the age of 64.Remembrances27 February 1887 – Alexander Borodin -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_BorodinAlexander Porfiryevich Borodin, Russian chemist and Romantic musical composer of Georgian ancestry. He was one of the prominent 19th-century composers known as "The Mighty Handful", a group dedicated to producing a uniquely Russian kind of classical music, rather than imitating earlier Western European models. A doctor and chemist by profession, Borodin made important early contributions to organic chemistry. Although he is presently known better as a composer, during his lifetime, he regarded medicine and science as his primary occupations, only practising music and composition in his spare time or when he was ill. As a chemist, Borodin is known best for his work concerning organic synthesis, including being among the first chemists to demonstrate nucleophilic substitution, as well as being the co-discoverer of the aldol reaction. Borodin was a promoter of education in Russia and founded the School of Medicine for Women in Saint Petersburg, where he taught until 1885. He died from heart attack at the age of 54 in Saint Petersburg.27 February 1936 – Ivan Pavlov - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_PavlovRussian physiologist known primarily for his work in classical conditioning. Inspired by the progressive ideas which D. I. Pisarev, the most eminent of the Russian literary critics of the 1860s, and I. M. Sechenov, the father of Russian physiology, were spreading, Pavlov abandoned his religious career and devoted his life to science. Pavlov won the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine in 1904, becoming the first Russian Nobel laureate. Pavlov's principles of classical conditioning have been found to operate across a variety of behavior therapies and in experimental and clinical settings, such as educational classrooms and even reducing phobias with systematic desensitization. Pavlov also contributed to many areas of physiology and neurological sciences. Most of his work involved research in temperament, conditioning and involuntary reflex actions. This research served as a base for broad research on the digestive system. He died from natural causes at the age of 86 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR.27 February 1980 – George Tobias - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_TobiasAmerican film and television actor. He was a frequent foil for James Cagney and played everything from comedies to dramas and musicals. He died from bladder cancer at the age of 78 in in Los Angeles, California.Famous Birthdays27 February 272 – Constantine the Great – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_the_GreatKnown as Constantine I, was a Roman Emperor who ruled between AD 306 and 337. As emperor, Constantine enacted administrative, financial, social and military reforms to strengthen the empire. He restructured the government, separating civil and military authorities. To combat inflation he introduced the solidus, a new gold coin that became the standard for Byzantine and European currencies for more than a thousand years. The Roman army was reorganised to consist of mobile units (comitatenses) and garrison troops (limitanei) capable of countering internal threats and barbarian invasions. Constantine pursued successful campaigns against the tribes on the Roman frontiers—the Franks, the Alamanni, the Goths and the Sarmatians—even resettling territories abandoned by his predecessors during the Crisis of the Third Century. Constantine was the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. He has historically been referred to as the "First Christian Emperor" and he did favour the Christian Church. He was born in Naissus, Moesia Superior.27 February 1869 – Alice Hamilton – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_HamiltonAmerican physician, research scientist, and author who is best known as a leading expert in the field of occupational health and a pioneer in the field of industrial toxicology. Her scientific research focused on the study of occupational illnesses and the dangerous effects of industrial metals and chemical compounds. Hamilton's best-known research included her studies on carbon monoxide poisoning among American steelworkers, mercury poisoning of hatters, and "a debilitating hand condition developed by workers using jackhammers." In addition to her scientific work, Hamilton was a social-welfare reformer, humanitarian, peace activist, and a resident-volunteer at Hull House in Chicago. She was the recipient of numerous honors and awards, most notably the Albert Lasker Public Service Award for her public-service contributions. She was born in Manhattan, New York City, New York.27 February 1807 – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Wadsworth_LongfellowAmerican poet and educator whose works include "Paul Revere's Ride", The Song of Hiawatha, and Evangeline. His first major poetry collections were Voices of the Night (1839) and Ballads and Other Poems (1841). Longfellow wrote many lyric poems known for their musicality and often presenting stories of mythology and legend. He became the most popular American poet of his day and also had success overseas. He has been criticized by some, however, for imitating European styles and writing specifically for the masses. He was born in Portland, Maine.Events of Interest27 February 1980 – “I Will Survive” wins first and last Grammy for Best Disco Recording- https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/i-will-survive-wins-the-firstand-lastgrammy-ever-awarded-for-best-disco-recordingThe National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences gave disco their stamp of approval, deciding to give a Grammy award for Best Disco Recording, just as the musical style was preparing to die. The film starred Greg Evigan and Eugene Clark, and here's the plot summary compliments of IMDB.com: "The actual sword of Excalibur has been stolen in London, and futuristic detectives Jake Cardigan and Sid Gomez are assigned to track it down and to find out who is trying to block the British reign from its rightful heir.".27 February 2004 – Shoko Asahara, the leader of the Japanese doomsday cult Aum Shinrikyo, is sentenced to death for masterminding the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attack. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_subway_sarin_attack#Aum/Aleph_todayAsahara was sentenced to death by hanging on 27 February 2004, but lawyers immediately appealed the ruling. The Tokyo High Court postponed its decision on the appeal until results were obtained from a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation, which was issued to determine whether Asahara was fit to stand trial. Asahara and twelve other Aum cultists were finally executed by hanging in July, 2018, after all appeals were exhausted. The group reportedly still has about 2,100 members, and continues to recruit new members under the name "Aleph" as well as other names. Though the group has renounced its violent past, it still continues to follow Asahara's spiritual teachings. Members operate several businesses, though boycotts of known Aleph-related businesses, in addition to searches, confiscations of possible evidence and picketing by protest groups, have resulted in closures.Follow us onFacebook- Page - https://www.facebook.com/NerdsAmalgamated/- Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/440485136816406/Twitter - https://twitter.com/NAmalgamatedSpotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/6Nux69rftdBeeEXwD8GXrSiTunes - https://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/top-shelf-nerds/id1347661094RSS - http://www.thatsnotcanonproductions.com/topshelfnerdspodcast?format=rssInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/nerds_amalgamated/General EnquiriesEmail - Nerds.Amalgamated@gmail.comRate & Review us on Podchaser - https://www.podchaser.com/podcasts/nerds-amalgamated-623195

I catch up with Greg Evigan, who starred in BJ and the Bear and My Two Dads. Greg tells me how he got involved in the business and which popular 80’s show he turned down. Not only is Greg a talented actor but he’s also a talented musician, having sung the theme song to both shows. He recently collaborated with Chromeo on their latest album. We talk the cult classic, DeepStar Six and working with William Shatner on TekWar. Talent runs in the Evigan family, as his daughters have acted and his son is a successful music producer/songwriter.
Natalie and Rebecca talk about the 80s sitcom My Two Dads starring Paul Reiser, Greg Evigan and Staci Keanan. They contemplate the feasibility of the living situation as well as the likeability of the characters. Find out what the cast of My Two Dads have been up to since the 80s.Send us your questions and comments on our Facebook page. Check us out on Instagram.
In "A Bird in the Hand" (1992), Greg Evigan stars as Harold McCain, a professional gambler who resorts to planting a pipe bomb in his uncle's car to avoid some dangerous loan sharks. However, things don't exactly go as planned when the gardener is blown up instead, and Harold's entanglement with his uncle's wife Dolores (Tyne Daly) may prove to be his ultimate undoing. Is "A Bird in the Hand" a royal flush? Or a fold? Listen in as Steve and Sean discuss it! Have a comment or question for the hosts? In this bonus minisode, we discuss seeing a show we once wanted to see, Year At the Top. Greg Evigan and Paul Shaffer sell their souls to rock and roll with help from Mickey Rooney! Mike saw an episode, Rick has a lot of questions, and Mike has some surprising answers.
Do you like surprises? Of course you do, and “A Bird in the Hand…” is full of them! Not one, but three murders? Greg Evigan doing an outstanding job as the killer? A 90s episode that is actually very good? Yes! All of these things and more, in a greasy little noir-ish story full of […]
The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Ted McGinley of ABC's Battle of The Network Stars. “TV Moms & Dads vs. TV Kids” – The revival of “Battle of the Network Stars,” based on the ‘70s and ‘80s television pop-culture classic, will continue on THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on ABC. The original series from ABC Sports began in 1976 and continued for 13 years. The new “Battle of the Network Stars” will be a nostalgic throwback to the original series where TV celebrities blended athleticism with hilarious antics. Here are the teams for this new episode (* = returning to “Battle of the Network Stars”): TV Moms & Dads (Chad Lowe, *Greg Evigan, *Ted McGinley, Lesley Fera, Jackee Harry) vs. TV Kids (*Jimmie Walker, *Mackenzie Phillips, Jonathan Lipnicki, Krista Marie Yu, Jeremy Miller) The hosts for “Battle of the Network Stars” are Mike Greenberg (@Espngreeny) and Joe Tessitore (@Joe_Tess) of ESPN; Cassidy Hubbarth (@CassidyHubbarth) and Cari Champion (@CariChampion) of ESPN are sideline reporters; plus Super Bowl 50 winner DeMarcus Ware (@DeMarcusWare) and MMA fighter/Olympian Ronda Rousey (@RondaRousey) are the team captains.
Actor Greg Evigan—best known as the star of the hit TV shows B.J. and the Bear and My Two Dads—has an intimate conversation with Bob & Suzanne that reveals a singular talent and a genuine commitment for all things “showbiz”. B.J. and the Bear: stardom! Greg shares his experiences as a fledgling actor and singer auditioning for Broadway’s Jesus Christ Superstar while still in high school. He talks about “heading to Hollywood” to make it as an actor, only to find the struggle frustrating and creatively unrewarding. You’ll hear about the day he had his car packed up, ready to hit the road and head back home, when he got a fateful call from a casting director who pleaded with him to go on just one last audition. Maybe it was because he had practically given up “caring” about Hollywood, but that off-the-cuff persona of his won him the role of “B.J. McKay” in what would become a major NBC-TV series watched by millions of viewers every week, B.J. and the Bear. Greg Evigan soon found himself becoming an international “teen idol” and an in-demand actor with all the unpredictable realities faced by anyone seeking a career in Hollywood. A consummate musician and vocalist, Greg wrote and performed the hit TV show theme songs for My Two Dads, P.S. I Luv U, and B.J. and the Bear. Throughout the podcast, you’ll hear cuts of Greg singing You Can Count on Me, Talk to Me, and Slow Down. Greg Evigan remains a genuine “leading man” with an active performing and recording career. You’ll find inspiration and wisdom as he tells a candid tale of navigating a dynamic Hollywood career landscape. It's a great story you won’t want to miss!
This week, Gilbert and Frank phone up one of the most visible and popular TV actors of the 1970s, 80s and 90s, former heartthrob and "B.J. and the Bear" and "My Two Dads" star Greg Evigan, who shares memorable anecdotes about everyone from Burt Reynolds to William Shatner to simian TV sidekick Sam (AKA "The Bear"). Also, Greg shares the stage with Ben Vereen AND John Travolta, jams with Paul Shaffer and lends his car to Ringo Starr! PLUS: Don Kirshner! The strange genius of Glen A. Larson! RHLSTP #47: Mark Gatiss - T R Assmagik. Richard is still reeling from the lurgy he had in last week's show and his guest is also not very well, it's Mark Gatiss from off of League of Gentlemen and Fear of Fanny. It's gentle and largely dignified, as one would expect from two middle-aged men with colds and bad backs.
