Following a packed-out première in 2024, the award-winning documentary Show Her The Money is returning to Ireland this May for a second ever Dublin screening as part of the TechFoundHer Summit 2025 - Women Innovators Rise. The screening will take place as part of Summit 2025 on May 14th at the Round Room at the Mansion House, Dublin and includes an exclusive post-screening panel discussion with international investors, founders, and innovation leaders. Wendy Ryan, one of the star investors featured in the award winning documentary, is flying in from the U.S. to take part in the discussion, alongside Lata Setty, globally renowned tech entrepreneur and investor. The panel will also spotlight leading voices in Ireland's startup ecosystem including Mary Rodgers (PorterShed), Suzanne Mills and Eshna Gogia (Republic of Work). A Film That's Fuelled a Global Movement Catherine Gray is the producer and driving force behind Show Her the Money, a film that addresses how women are getting less than 2% of venture capital funding and demystifies what venture capital is. Directed by Ky Dickens, Show Her The Money follows four dynamic female founders battling systemic barriers to secure venture capital - and the game-changing women investors who back them. From inclusive fashion to beauty rooted in Ayurveda, the featured businesses challenge norms and stereotypes, and their journey highlights a core reality: women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding globally. This documentary is a rallying cry to change that. The movie also features rock-star female investors who invest in diverse women entrepreneurs with innovations that will change the world including - Wendy Ryan, a powerhouse investor using her generational wealth to empower women and BIPOC entrepreneurs. "Show Her The Money" reminds us that money is power, and women need it to achieve true equality. Watch the trailer here About the Panel: Women Investing in Women Wendy Ryan, CEO of Kadabra and bestselling author of Learn Lead Lift, uses her generational wealth to empower women entrepreneurs. Wendy advises and invests in early-stage companies. Her impact facilitating access to capital for historically excluded entrepreneurs is featured in the movie. She explains the rationale for investing in women, "If I write a woman a $10,000 cheque she is going to go much further with it than a similarly situated male would - returns are actually better when you invest in women." She is an executive producer in Show Her The Money along with Sharon Gless from Cagney and Lacey fame. Joining her in Dublin is VC and Angel investor Lata Setty who has a diverse background in patent litigation and tech entrepreneurship. Setty is the inaugural Investor and on Advisory Board of Silicon Valley Women's Founder Fund. She was also the inaugural investor at How Women Invest Funds l, ll & lll leveraging her experience in launching and scaling successful VC-funded startups. Their insights will be complemented by Irish ecosystem leaders Mary Rodger, Suzanne Mills and Eshna Gogia, who each work to support and scale women-led ventures across Ireland. Máirín Murray, Founder of TechFoundHer, said of the upcoming screening, "Show Her The Money is more than a documentary - it's a catalyst for change. We're bringing it back to Dublin because the conversation is far from over. If we want a future where innovation is truly inclusive, we need to see, hear, and fund women entrepreneurs. This film opens eyes - and doors." I love to talk TV and I really enjoy every exchange with Susan and Sharon, otherwise known as the 80s TV Ladies. When their podcast, 80s TV Ladies, launched, they invited me to be a guest. It was a blast and over the last two years, the two podcasts have furthered a shared exploration of how women have been represented on television and the impact that representation has had on society as a whole and females, of all ages, in particular. Like Advanced TV Herstory, their show features interviews and analyzes the work of women both in front of and behind the camera. Our podcasts aim to help listeners understand how our culture shapes the television shows we watch and, in turn, how those shows shape our culture. Listen in on this engaging and informative look behind the scenes as we discuss the motivations, joys, and challenges of creating podcasts that highlight the contributions of women in television. 80s TV LADIES   Contacts Website – 80s TV Ladies - https://www.80stvladies.com/  Website – 134 West - https://134west.biz/  Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/80sTVLadies/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/80stvladies/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/@80stvladies  Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/80sTVLadies   Awards 2024 Women in Podcasting, Nominee in Entertainment – VOTE at https://womeninpodcasting.net/80s-tv-ladies/     2024 Webby Award – Best Indie Podcast   2023 People's Choice Podcast Awards - Best Art, Best TV & Film, Best Female Hosted    MENTIONS   Podcast Episodes 80s TV Ladies (24 May 2023) – Advanced TV Herstory w/ Cynthia Bemis Abrams, Part One - https://www.80stvladies.com/episode/episode-201-welcome-to-season-2-advanced-tv-herstory-w-cynthia-bemis-abram-part-1   80s TV Ladies (31 May 2023) – Advanced TV Herstory w/ Cynthia Bemis Abrams, Part Two - https://www.80stvladies.com/episode/episode-202-advanced-tv-herstory-aw-cynthia-bemis-abrams-part-two   Wiser Than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus (11 Apr 2023) – Jane Fonda on Female Friendships - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jane-fonda-on-female-friendships/id1678559416?i=1000608248297   Shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cagney and Lacey, China Beach, Designing Women, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Grey's Anatomy, Lou Grant, My So-Called Life, Murphy Brown, Remington Steele, and Scarecrow and Mrs. King    People Annie Potts, Barney Rosenzweig, Diane English, Eilish Zebrasky, Eugenie Ross-Leming, Geena Davis, Jean Smart, Juanita Bartlett, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, Melissa Roth, Neema Barnette, Sergio Perez, Sharon Gless, Shonda Rhimes, Stephanie Zimbalist, and Tyne Daly    Books  Backlash: The Undeclared War Against American Women by Susan Faludi - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backlash:_The_Undeclared_War_Against_American_Women    Lou Grant: The Making of TV's Top Newspaper Drama by Douglass K. Award-winning actress Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey); Dawn Lafreeda, largest female-owned restaurant franchisee in America (Denny's); and Catherine Gray, author, TedX speaker, & host of the Invest in Her Podcast. What do they have in common? They're Executive Producers of the much acclaimed film, “Show Her The Money,” which follows four visionary women in their quest to find venture capital to support their business ideas and turn them into reality. And where did they get the money from? Women. This film is knocking it out of the park at film festivals, getting up close and personal about the struggle for female entrepreneurs to secure venture capital. It also highlights women in finance with the muscle to turn these up and coming business gurus into billion-dollar empires. We will speak with Sharon about her incredibly trailblazing career, and how she's immersed herself into the world of women in business. Dawn's story is incredible, hosting at a Denny's in SoCal at age 16, and by 23, borrowing enough money on her credit cards to become an owner. She is the founder and CEO of Den-Tex Central, and owns more than 80 Denny's in the U.S. And Catherine Gray, well, she's a connector, TedX speaker, author, podcast host, and has put her heart into making sure women get their fair share at the business table. Currently, women get just two-percent of the billions of dollars in venture capital every year. Please join us for this incredibly vibrant conversation, and invite your friends, too. Our show is available on all video and audio platforms of #DeborahKobyltLIVE. I'm your host, #DeborahZaraKobylt, and I'm happy to have you here.

The ALL NEW Big Wakeup Call with Ryan Gatenby

From December 6, 2021: Multiple Emmy® and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Sharon Gless called in to promote her memoir, Apparently There Were Complaints. Spanning her childhood and five decades as an actress in Hollywood, from her work on "Cagney & Lacey," "Queer as Folk," "Burn Notice," and countless other shows, movies, and international stage productions, Gless holds nothing back in this deeply personal book that spills all in her laugh-out-loud, juicy and touching life story. "Apparently There Were Complaints" delves into Gless's remarkable career and explores her complicated family, struggles with alcoholism, and her fear of romantic commitment as well as her encounters with some of Hollywood's biggest names. Brutally honest and incredibly relatable, Gless puts it all out on the page in the same way she has lived-never with moderation. "I never intended to write a book, but on a sunny California afternoon after chatting with a CBS executive about some of my life stories, I walked out with a book deal," says Gless. "That's what happened. I went in for a TV show and came out having to write 320 pages of my own lines. I hope I don't regret this."A fifth-generation Californian, Gless knew from a young age that she wanted to be an actress. After some rocky teenage years that included her parents' divorce and some minor (and not-so-minor) rebellion, Gless landed a coveted spot as an exclusive contract player for Universal Studios. In 1982, she stepped into the role of New York Police Detective Christine Cagney for the series "Cagney & Lacey," which reached an audience of 30 million weekly viewers and garnered Gless two Emmy Awards. The show made history as the first hour-long drama to feature two women in the leading roles.Gless continued to make history long after "Cagney & Lacey" was over. In 2000, she took on the role of outrageous Debbie Novotny in "Queer as Folk." Her portrayal of a devoted mother to a gay son and confidant to his gay friends touched countless hearts and changed the definition of family for millions of viewers.ABOUT SHARON GLESSSharon Gless was born into a prominent Hollywood family and always knew she wanted to be an actress. She was an exclusive contract player for Universal Studios from 1972 until 1982, when the studio ended all talent contracts. She was the last contract player in the history of Hollywood. While at Universal, Gless appeared on series such as "The Rockford Files"; "Kojak," "The Bob Newhart Show"; and "Switch", among others. In 1982, she accepted the role of Cagney in "Cagney & Lacey," winning two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series, followed shortly by a Golden Globe win for her lead role in "The Trials of Rosie O'Neill." In 2000, Gless was cast as Debbie Novotny in "Queer as Folk," which ran for five seasons, after which she co-starred for seven seasons in her Emmy-nominated role on "Burn Notice." She has eleven Emmy and seven Golden Globe nominations.Gless married Barney Rosenzweig, the executive producer of "Cagney & Lacey," in 1991 and they've been together for 30 years. She currently resides both in Los Angeles and on Fisher Island, off the coast of Miami, Florida.

Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Sharon Gless, Legendary Emmy & Golden Globe Award Winning Actress, Author, “Apparently There Were Complaints” About Harvey's guest: Today's special guest, Sharon Gless, is a beloved, multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress who's been dazzling audiences since she became the very last contract player at Universal Studios in 1972.   After distinguishing herself in a number of memorable roles on TV including Kathleen Faverty in Marcus Welby, Maggie Philbin in “Switch”, Sidney Enderman in “Centennial”, Penny Alston in “Turnabout”, and Jane Jeffries in “Housecalls”, she landed the iconic role of Christine Cagney in the groundbreaking TV series, “Cagney and Lacey”, which was the first TV drama with 2 female lead characters, for which she won 2 Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series.  She went on to win another Golden Globe Award and 2 more Emmy nominations for her starring role in “The Trials of Rosie O'Neill”.    And then, for 5 glorious seasons, she became immortalized for exemplifying the warmth and loving acceptance of the ideal Mom in another groundbreaking TV show, “Queer as Folk”, which became the #1 show on the Showtime cable network, and forever changed the landscape of how the LGBTQ community was portrayed on television.    After playing Lynn Warner on “The State Within” and the evil Colleen Rose on “Nip/Tuck”, which earned her a 9th Emmy nomination, she gave us yet another Emmy nominated iconic performance, as the chain-smoking, hypochondriac mother from hell, Madeline Westen in “Burn Notice”, which ran for 7 seasons.   She continues to deliver outstanding performances on TV in “The Gifted”, “Casualty”, and in the upcoming TV movie “Constance”, and in a feature film being released next year, “Fast Charlie”, co-starring Pierce Brosnan and the late James Caan.  In addition to having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she's been nominated for 23 prestigious acting awards, including 10 Emmy Award and 7 Golden Globe Award nominations.   And now, her best selling memoir entitled, “Apparently There Were Complaints”, which was released last year, is now coming out in paperback on November 29th.  This is a deeply personal, brutally honest and highly relatable book that I simply COULD NOT put down. For more interviews and podcasts go to: https://www.harveybrownstoneinterviews.com/ https://www.sharongless.com/https://www.facebook.com/OfficialSharonGless/https://twitter.com/SharonGlesshttp://instagram.com/sharonglessrealhttps://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002102/ #SharonGless  #harveybrownstoneinterviews

This week, we're having our own Schuckapalooza, covering three series starring underrated character actor John Schuck. First, we start with Schuck playing a robotic police officer in the 13-week wonder Holmes and Yoyo.   Next, Schuckapalooza forges on with this reboot of a 1960s classic with our hero this week playing Herman Munster, a role made famous by Fred Gwynne. In this sequel series, the Munster family wakes up from a 22-year sleep and has to mostly deal with Grandpa's crappy inventions.   Finally, Schuckapalooza ends with one of the most forgettable shows we have ever covered.  Despite very little video available, Turnabout is one of the most painful series we have recapped, from the awkward premise to story lines which are ridiculous and even somewhat sexist.  John Schuck and Sharon Gless deserved so much better.   To keep track of us on our social media feeds visit our Linktree page at www.linktr.ee/itwasathingontv to give our feeds a follow.   Timestamps 0:50 - Holmes and Yoyo 47:58 - Classic Commercial Break 50:41 - The Munsters Today 2:19:16 - Computer Voice Lady Intro to Episode 271 2:19:36 - Turnabout

Brooke Lynn Hytes does her best Russian Canadian, Ginger finds the Sharon Gless, Peppermint drives a taxi and then there's Jan, who's great, of course, because we love Jan.
