In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring “Cascada”. “Cascada” is a duo consisting of German-British singer Natalie Horler and German DJ and Producer's DJ Manian and DJ Yanou. The group was formed in 2004. Their most notable track was “Everytime We Touch”. Here is a listen here. "Everytime We Touch" was released in 2005 but didn't gain widespread success until 2007. The song's memorable melody and lyrics made it stand out. With its mixture of Eurodance, trance and pop it appealed to a large audience. This combination resulted in the track being frequently played on radio stations in the U.S; something that had previously not happened for Eurodance or trance artist. "Everytime We Touch" blazed the trail for other such acts to gain mainstream recognition. That's it for this week's Vinyl's from the past; now let's get back to more music. Lexer: Start – 18:54 and End – 26:04Lexer, a German DJ and producer, began his musical career at the age of 18 with the release of his track "My Princess". This song was highly praised within the melodic house genre. By 2019, he had made a transition from melodic to deep house with the 2015 album “Nowehere Else”.

See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Evan and Andrew turn their gaze inward when Annie Rauwerda (Depths of Wikipedia) incisively declares that their entire podcast is built on a foundation of hating. Is it too late for Evan and Andrew to walk away from their office cooler of Haterade™️?? Or has Punch Up The Jam, and a career of reading YouTube comments hardened their hearts? The final boss of this challenge is Annie's confounding opinion that Cascada's 2007 hit "Everytime We Touch" is the "perfect song." As they fight this demon, they discover their inner hot librarian and write a punch up that would make any Wikipedia editor blush. Guest: Annie Rauwerda aka Depths of Wikipedia. Since Cascada's inception in 2004, they have sold more than 30 million records worldwide. In 2013, Cascada represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest and are the third most successful acts from Germany of the 21st century. Furthermore, their music was the most downloaded in dance music after David Guetta and has garnered more than 1 billion views on YouTube with 200 million of them for “Everytime We Touch.”I've been a diehard fan of Cascada since the release of Everytime We Touch in 2006. I've supported them (did you know there are three members?) through 'Everytime We Touch,' 'Perfect Day,' 'Evacuate The Dancefloor,' and now. Recently I've been blasting “What Do You Want From Me” on my commutes home from work.Their music changed my life and are the reason I am in the music industry, and I can't even begin to explain how overjoyed I was to conduct this interview for When Life Hands You Lennons.

Make no mistake: You know and love the voice—and it belongs to Chris Willis. At once soulful and gritty, Willis' voice has fueled numerous dance and top 40 pop hits, including the 2007 charttopper, “Love Is Gone,” which dominated charts around the world, and “Everytime We Touch,” a Top 10 European smash earlier this year. In a world of sound-alike dance divas, Willis is that rare male vocalist doing dance music successfully. But the man does more than sing. He's an accomplished producer and stellar songwriter.

This week, Adrienne and Katarina decided that they should start Spring Cleaning...by getting rid of some skeletons in their closet. Yes, Listeners, it is Guilty Pleasures week, featuring all the songs that you love but are too scared of societal backlash to admit it. Or maybe you just have a couple of mean friends who would absolutely roast you if they found out some of these songs are your favorite tunes. Or, in the case of our hosts, maybe you just have some really embarrassing memories attached to these classics. Whatever your reason for labeling them that way, our Guilty Pleasures episode is here to celebrate our secret faves.

It's been awhile since a new episode was released so here it is. This is a lengthy 2 hour nonstop mix, making it perfect for your New Years party! The beginning will be a little rocky, flipping back and forth between 70-75 BPM and 140-150 BPM. It's an interesting way to see how doubling tempo works. The max BPM at the end of the mix will be 128, however almost all of the songs in this mixshow are slightly faster than their original. Have a wonderful new year and I'll be back in 2017!
