Sunt cifre pe care nici starul mondial Beyoncé, care are 56 de milioane de urmăritori nu le atinge, scrie agenția slovacă de știri Sita. ”Are abonați falși de prin Bangladesh sau Sri Lanka, mii de aprecieri cumpărate, postări redistribuite de boți controlați de Inteligența Artificială, pentru a manipula oamenii. Așa funcționează contul de Facebook al acestui valet al Moscovei și așa se întâmplă și în cazul altor politicieni ai coaliției de guvernare”, a declarat, potrivit sursei citate, Jaroslav Naď, liderul Partidului Democraților (de opoziție), fost ministru al apărării, care a cerut companiei Meta să ia măsuri adecvate. Tomáš Pjontek, specialist slovac în marketing online, spune că pe Linkedin contul lui Fico are performanțe incomparabil mai bune decât cele ale unor sportivi celebri în Slovacia, cum ar fi Petra Vlhová sau Paulína Fialková, sau ale site-ului satiric Zomri, extrem de popular în această țară, ceea ce din punct de vedere statistic este imposibil. ”Dacă ar fi să facem o comparație în funcție de popularitatea pe rețelele sociale, lideri europeni, precum Olaf Scholz sau Emmanuel Macron par primari de prin orășelele noastre în comparație cu premierul Fico, sau cu ministrul de interne”, observă specialistul slovac.El spune că modalitățile de fraudare pe Facebook, de exemplu, sunt foarte ieftine: ”Poți cumpăra 10 000 de like-uri cu sume între 50 și 100 de dolari, de pe platforme ilegale, special concepute. Bývalá biatlonistka Ivona Fialková reprezentovala Slovensko na pretekoch Svetového pohára a dvakrát na zimnej olympiáde, pričom v Pjongčangu 2018 obsadila so slovenskou štafetou piate miesto. Ivona vyštudovala pedagogiku, predmety geografia a telesná výchova. Biatlonu sa začala venovať keď mala sedem rokov a logicky nasledovala staršiu sestru Paulínu. Pred rokom ohlásila, že končí svoju profesionálnu kariéru z osobných a zdravotných dôvodov. V súčasnosti sa venuje rodinnej firme, popritom si však aktívne užíva aj športový dôchodok. Tiež sa stala spolukomentátorkou televíznych biatlonových prenosov, a pomáha nám tak odkrývať nie len preteky, ale aj zákulisie biatlonových pretekov. Mimochodom, má ešte podobne, ako jej sestra Paulína, ktorá sa vracia do súťažného kolotoča, športové ciele? Slovenský biatlon neprežíva úspešný štart do novej sezóny. Nedarí sa mužom a ani ženám. Dôvodov, prečo sa Slovensko v tejto zime zatiaľ neradovalo z úspechov, je určite viac. Na to sa pokúsime odpovedať v našom dnešnom podcaste.

„Náklady na stavbu jsou v Polsku srovnatelné s našimi, ale díky velké konkurenci jsou ceny bytů výrazně nižší,“ říká Marcela Fialková, ředitelka strategie a komunikace developerské firmy UDI Group. Marcela Fialková pracovala více než patnáct let v celostátních médiích jako vládní, politická a ekonomická reportérka. Následně se zhruba stejnou dobu věnuje hlavně PR a managementu. Vyzkoušela si budování vlastní PR značky i práci ve státní správě, kde zastávala pozici poradkyně ministryně pro místní rozvoj. V současnosti je ředitelkou pro strategii a komunikaci v mezinárodní developerské skupině Urban Developers and Investors.

Paulína Fialková je slovenská športovkyňa, ktorá sa biatlonu venuje od ôsmich rokov. Reprezentovala Slovensko na Zimných olympijských hrách už dvakrát. Okre toho sa zúčastňuje aj Svetového pohára v biatlone. Len za uplynulú sezónu stála na stupienkoch víťazov až šesť krát.

Next, Andy and Derek discuss an even more genre-bending comic, Kingsway West (Dark Horse Comics). Written by Greg Pak and with art by Mirko Colak, the story combines fantasy with the mid-nineteenth-century American West, while at the same time hovering in the territory of alternate history. Things get more comedic when the guys turn to Joshua Hale Fialkov and Tony Fleecs's Jeff Steinberg: Champion of Earth (Oni Press). The eponymous hero is a textbook loser who, through an infamous bout of constipation, is chosen by alien forces to determine the future of Earth. Also, President Obama high fives his Joint Chiefs! The guys end on a much more explicit note with their last #1 issue, James Kochalka's Superf*ckers Forever, published by IDW. (And to make their discussion easier, Andy and Derek don't shy away from using language that may offend more delicate ears.) This is Kochalka's return to his whacked-out superhero series, complete with Superdan, Ultra Richard, Grotessa, and Wonder Kyle. And yes, Jack Krak is still the motherf*cker.

This week on the podcast, Derek and Andy discuss three new titles that range from the profound to the insane. They begin with the new book from Julie Maroh, Skandalon (Arsenal Pulp Press). It's the story of a French rock star, Tazane, with international appeal and the power to move a vast legion of fans. The book is thesis driven, with Maroh exploring the dynamics, and the costs, of modern celebrity status and its affects on both the personal and collective psyche. Neither of the guys have yet read Maroh's first graphic novel — and the one for which she's best known — Blue Is the Warmest Color, but after digesting Skandalon they feel that their appreciation of the work may be enhanced, or at least contextualized, by the earlier book. Next, the Two Guys with PhDs move on the new work from Jeff Parker and Sandy Jarrell, Meteor Men (Oni Press). While at first they were skeptical of the potential formulaic nature of the narrative — aliens coming to Earth and the resulting aftermath — they're fascinated by the ways in which Parker complicates conventions to make the story unique. They're particularly struck by the book's teenage protagonist, Alden, the complexities of his character, and the circumstances surrounding his link to the extraterrestrials. While the guys disagree as to extents of Parker and Jarrell's deviation from the genre — Andy feels that the governmental/military response to the aliens is nuanced, while Derek thinks that it's more predictable and even heavy-handed — they both conclude that Meteor Men presents a different perspective on a popular formula. This is no E.T. Finally, the guys wrap up with what both feel is the highlight of the week, the first issue of Joshua Hale Fialkov and Kody Chamberlain's Punks: The Comic (Image Comics). This has to be one of the most whacked out comics they're read in a long time, rivaling the craziness and no-holds-barred fun of Ryan Browne's God Hates Astronauts and Evan Dorkin's Milk and Cheese. In this first issue of the new ongoing series, we get two short stories — the funniest being the lead off, “Firsts” — a portion of an earlier, self-published Punks comic, and a three-page fun-and-activities section, complete with a card game called Nutpuncher. Andy and Derek laugh their way through the final part of the podcast, and they eagerly look forward to following the future exploits of Dog, Skull, Fist, and Abraham Lincoln. Also, the Two Guys welcome a new Podcast Patron, Tom Mathews, who believes The Comics Alternative does for comics what Sound Opinions does for music. You can't get much better praise than that!

Next is a conversation with Mike Federali, organizer of Tidewater Con, an upstart comic convention in Virginia Beach. Afterwards, Greg goes one-on-one with Joe to talk about his graphic novel Marathon (written by Boaz Yakin), which gives an account of the story behind the Greek victory at Marathon that is much more interesting and gripping than one man simply running 26 miles and collapsing.
