POPULARITY
Since 2013, The Doge meme has made us laugh, cry, and stare longingly into the beautiful eyes of a Shiba Inu. Like most memes, it’s an image put into new contexts again and again. And in late 2013, it was turned into a cryptocurrency. Dogecoin began as a joke — a way to poke fun at the rise of blockchain and crypto trends. But today, it's incredibly popular as a commodity and digital currency, with an estimated market cap of $5 billion (as of this writing). Gary Lachance, an open source and decentralization advocate, has embraced The Way of the Doge. He explains that if a philosophy of fun and openness underpinned our monetary system, perhaps the world would be a better place. And Lachance feels we're at the start of a global transformation, if we use the internet right. This week, Alli and Jen speak with Lachance about his creation of Distributed Dance Parties which unify thousands across the internet through music. Lachance also takes us into the Dogecoin community, and illustrates how the internet can be used as a weapon of peace, rather than control. What’s the best way to build your audience? Are you using the right platforms to get your message across? Digital marketing and audience building expert Gary Henderson has spent years developing new ways for businesses to grow their audience. Gary is the founder of Digitalmarketing.org, a full-service digital marketing agency with a focus on relationship building and consulting. He is also the host of the “All the Way Up” podcast. The R3 Mat MethodGary’s approach to audience building is different from traditional methods. His ideology is that most businesses aren’t attracting the right audience for their content. Using his R3 Mat method, Gary shows business owners from different industries how to get the most out of their time. The R3 Mat method consists of getting the right message to the right people at the right time. Everything you do to get your message out there should have a purpose. Even if you have tens of thousands of followers on social media, how many of those people are actually going to buy your product or sign up for your service?Gary says it’s all about warming up your audience. Once you get your message out, you can start to see who your audience is. Ideally, by the time you launch a product or introduce a new service, customers will be ready to purchase. How to Build the Right AudienceAs most business owners know, audience building can be an overwhelming task. Gary’s advice is to take a deep dive into how you’re connecting with your audience. How are your posts performing? How many people are attending your webinar? Is all this work actually generating results? If not, it might be time to shift gears. In Gary’s case, he got tired of posting on Facebook every day and trying to come up with witty captions for Instagram posts. Then, he found Clubhouse, a new social media platform that is solely audio-based. Users can join different chat rooms based on different subjects or speakers. For Gary, it has become a new way to talk and interact with people, things that he’s good at. Since joining Clubhouse, he’s made thousands of connections in a very short time. The bottom line for building an audience is to always keep your end goal in mind when finding the right platform for your business. Encourage collaboration and open communication. Content is shared at an exponential rate, so don’t be afraid to keep things open. You never know what connections you’ll make. Find Gary on Clubhouse, as well as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Listen to the “All the Way Up” podcast and learn more about his digital marketing services on his website.

First love is a devil of a thing, and Cole knows this better than anyone. A couple years ago, he was almost killed by his babysitter in a Satanic ritual. Can’t say that’s typical, but it sure made a man out of him… Almost. Now Cole has to face down his own demons… (and a couple others we’ve met before…) as a new danger emerges, but this time, it’s a killer. It’s THE BABYSITTER: KILLER QUEEN!It’s been two years since former-wimp COLE had his world turned upside-down by his charming babysitter BEE, and let’s just say she and all of her friends made Cole’s life Hell -- at least for one night. Now, it’s junior year, and Cole is trying to up his coolness factor by going on a weekend lake trip with his crush MELANIE and her new boyfriend Jimmy and his friends… But some old pals crash the party, and Cole has to rely on the help of a mysterious newcomer to make it to dawn, alive.Find Gary on twitter @FlyingFatGuyThis month, we’re supporting BLACK VOTERS MATTER whose mission is to increase power in the communities as effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.
