An esoteric and magical portrait of Elvis Presley“A lively new book.” —The Guardian• Draws on firsthand accounts from Elvis's wife, Priscilla, his friends and family, the Memphis Mafia, and his spiritual advisors• Looks at key teachers who influenced him, including Yogananda, H. P. Blavatsky, and Manly P. Hall• Examines Elvis's efforts as a natural healer, the significance of his UFO encounters, and his telekinetic, psychic, and astral traveling abilitiesElvis Presley, the most successful solo artist in history and an emblematic cultural figure of the Western world, has been widely perceived as a conservative Southern Christian. However, the truth about the man has been missed.Writer and researcher Miguel Conner reveals how Elvis was a profound mystic, occultist, and shaman. Beginning with the unusual circumstances of his birth—and his stillborn twin brother—Conner traces the diverse thread of mysticism that runs through Elvis Presley's life, drawing on firsthand accounts from the people closest to him, including his wife, Priscilla, the Memphis Mafia, and his spiritual advisors. He shows how Elvis studied seminal 19th- and 20th-century occultists, including H. P. Blavatsky, Manly P. Hall, G. I. Gurdjieff, and P. D. Ouspensky, and was a devotee of Indian yogi Paramahansa Yogananda. Conner argues that Elvis was well-versed in the esoteric practices of sex magic, meditation, astrology, and numerology and had a deep familiarity with Kabbalah, Gnosticism, Theosophy, and Eastern traditions. He also reveals how Elvis was a natural healer, telekinetic, psychic, and astral traveler who had significant mystical experiences and UFO encounters.Looking at the conspiratorial and paranormal aspects of Elvis's life, the author explores the "Elvis visitations" that have occurred since the King's death and the general high weirdness of his life. As Conner convincingly argues, Elvis was not just a one-of-a-kind rock-and-roller. He was the greatest magician America ever produced.Miguel Conner is a writer, voiceover artist, and host of the popular podcast Aeon Byte Gnostic Radio. His books include Voices of Gnosticism, Stargazer, Heretic, and The Executioner's Daughter. Rupert Spira provides a profound exploration of non-dualism, addressing fundamental questions about our true nature and the essence of existence. Beginning with the inquiry “Who Are You, Really?” Spira guides us through a journey that challenges our habitual thoughts and beliefs, encouraging a deeper connection to our being. He delves into our inherent longing for happiness and the qualities of awareness that shape our experience. As he explains how the universe separates itself to know itself, he highlights the implications for morality and our relationships, viewing them as containers for growth and understanding. Spira also discusses the transformative journey of enlightenment, the different types of meditation, and the potential pitfalls of spiritual ego. This exploration not only sheds light on the nature of thoughts but also offers practical guidance to embody your true self, making it a must-watch for anyone seeking deeper understanding and fulfillment in life. At the age of seventeen he learnt to meditate, and began a twenty-year period of study and practice in the classical Advaita Vedanta tradition under the guidance of Dr. Francis Roles and Shantananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of the north of India. During this time he immersed himself in the teachings of P. D. Ouspensky, Krishnamurti, Rumi, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta and Robert Adams, until he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, in 1997. Francis introduced Rupert to the Direct Path teachings of Atmananda Krishna Menon, the Tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism (which he had received from his teacher, Jean Klein), and, more importantly, directly indicated to him the true nature of experience. Rupert lives in the UK and holds regular meetings and retreats in Europe and the USA. Gary Lachman ranges broadly and deeply through the esoteric mysteries. He rightly criticizes Jung for being too scientific around unus mundus (one world). Gary illuminates our ability to be precognitive through that everyday transition between waking and sleeping--hypnogogic-the guide from sleep. His information presents as auditory, other people use visuals. Practice monitoring your information flow as you fall asleep and as you wake up perhaps starting with waking up. Let your mind drift in this in between world and you are like to find creative urges to build on during the day. *This episode was originally uploaded to YouTube on October 6, 2024 * Gary Lachman is the author of many books on topics ranging from the evolution of consciousness to literary suicides, popular culture and the history of the occult.

A Secret History of Consciousness: By Gary LachmanHear it Here - https://bit.ly/3SujrCphttps://www.amazon.com/dp/1584200111For the last four centuries, science has tried to account for everything in terms of atoms and molecules and the physical laws they adhere to. Recently, this effort was extended to try to include the inner world of human beings. Gary Lachman argues that this view of consciousness is misguided and unfounded. He points to another approach to the study and exploration of consciousness that erupted into public awareness in the late 1800s.In this “secret history of consciousness,” consciousness is seen not as a result of neurons and molecules, but as responsible for them; meaning is not imported from the outer world, but rather creates it. In this view, consciousness is a living, evolving presence whose development can be traced through different historical periods, and which evolves along a path to a broader, more expansive state. What that consciousness may be like and how it may be achieved is a major concern of this book.Lachman concentrates on the period since the late 1800s, when Madame Blavatsky first brought the secret history out into the open. As this history unfolds, we encounter the ideas of many modern thinkers, from esotericists like P. D. Ouspensky, Rudolf Steiner, and Colin Wilson to more mainstream philosophers like Henri Bergson, William James, Owen Barfield and the psychologist Andreas Mavromatis. Two little known but important thinkers play a major role in his synthesis―Jurij Moskvitin, who showed how our consciousness relates to the mechanisms of perception and to the external world, and Jean Gebser, who presented perhaps the most impressive case for the evolution of consciousness. An important contribution to the study of consciousness ... a must-read.

Akşemseddin Hazretleri, fethin müjdesini aldığını belirterek, fethe âit Hadîs-i Şerîf'i okudu. II. İstanbul'a tatlı bir ılıklık yayılmaya başlamıştı. Heaven and Hell 292. With every individual there are good spirits and evil spirits. Through the good spirits, man has conjunction with heaven, and through the evil spirits with hell. These spirits are in the world of spirits, which lies midway between heaven and hell. This world will be described particularly in the following pages. When these spirits come to a man they enter into his entire memory, and thus into his entire thought, evil spirits into the evil things of his memory and thought, and good spirits into the good things of his memory and thought. These spirits have no knowledge at all that they are with a man, but when they are with him they believe that all things of his memory and thought are their own. 293. The reason that spirits who communicate with hell are also adjoined to man is that man is born into evils of every kind, consequently his first life can only be from them. Therefore, unless spirits of a nature like his own were adjoined to man he could not live, nor indeed could he be withdrawn from his evils and reformed. He is therefore held in his own life by means of evil spirits and withheld from it by means of good spirits, and by the two kept in equilibrium. Being in equilibrium, he is in his freedom, and can be drawn away from evils and turned towards good, and good can also be implanted in him, which would not be possible at all if he were not in freedom. Freedom is not possible to man unless spirits from hell act on one side and spirits from heaven on the other, and man is in between. 295. The spirits associated with man are such as he himself is in respect to his affection or love; but the Lord associates good spirits with him, while evil spirits are invited by the man himself. The spirits with man, however, are changed in accordance with the changes of his affections ON WORKING FOR OTHERS The first line is work on oneself, which begins with sincere and uncritical self-observation according to what we are taught by the Work to observe. The second line is work in connection with one another, to understand one another and not to react mechanically to the unpleasant manifestations of others in the Work, to learn a common language and so externally consider them. The third line is to help those teaching the Work and to assist in the transmission of it. (from Psychological Commentaries on the Teaching of Gurdjieff & Ouspensky; Vol 3; p900; Maurice Nicoll) Third Round posts are short audio clips taken from Round 3 comments offered in the online Logopraxis Life Group meetings. The aim is to keep the focus on understanding the Text in terms of its application to the inner life along with reinforcing any key LP principles that have been highlighted in the exchanges.
One World in a New World with Victor Acquista, MD - Author, Speaker, Creator, Host This multidiscipline and multidimensional conversation explores science and spirituality in ways you may never have experienced prior, yet will sense the resonance of its sound wisdom shared. Victor begins by relating to a conversation he had with his mother in junior high. He mentions reading Krishnamurti and Kahlil Gibran and even Ouspensky and those perhaps being familiar to our audience. He had questions about time and free will as a result. Victor reflects on the Buddhist notion of finding your song and singing it. What is your song and are you singing it? Do you have 'training bias' in your profession? His breadth of scope in the allopathic and alternative healing modalities is obvious as he shares his journey to understanding the larger scope of health and well-being. It is well worth your attention and exploration as well. He offers many references to materials you can research as well. Do we really need validation from others to do what we can do if it works? Victor's walks us through his own process of how he became more self-aware and his reflection on how the process unfolded and wisdom garnered is well expressed with empathic resonance for many. He shares a declaration of world citizenship you'll find refreshing and transformative, noting the humility from which it came. He offers greater understanding for others in exploring the Blue Zones Project for community building. Noting his time at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, Victor shares that he feels it's more important to have a direct experience rather than acquiring knowledge. Zen brings up a previous interview with Dr. Ervin Laszlo (https://youtu.be/NDYZl-fnGWI) regarding the Higher Self and the physical embodiment of the prevailing consciousness. There is a great discussion about the oneness of being going through various vibrational levels. What is your relationship with the expanding notion of love in your life? Podcast: This week on the show we feature a pre-recorded conversation with Bruce Miller about his latest book, Uplift: How to Harness the Hidden Engine of Continuous Renewal, published this year by Miller eMedia. After studying filmmaking and screenwriting at UCLA, Bruce Miller has spent his career as a brand strategist, media producer, writer, and marketing partner in an Atlanta brand development agency. Beginning the 1970s, Bruce's spiritual search led him to English author, performer, and teacher, Reshad Feild, as well as to his subsequent long-term relationship with Dr. Bhagwan Awatramani. This journey, as well a number of personal life challenges along the way, are told in UPLIFT in the context of the principle of the Octave. Bruce and Reshad, with others, started The Institute for Conscious Life, the Mevlana Foundation, and later, Chalice Guild. In these schools, Bruce helped bring the work of Jalaluddin Rumi to America, now considered “the best-selling poet in the US.” This story is recounted in Bruce's second book, Rumi Comes to America. Bruce also collaborated and edited Steps to Freedom, Discourses on the Essential Knowledge of the Heart based on talks given by Reshad Feild. Bruce has led residential seminars on Sapelo Island in Georgia and Mendocino, CA on the knowledge of the Octave and Enneagram, ideas brought forth by P.D. Ouspensky and G.I. Gurdjieff, and the Law of Hazard, an understanding of risk and uncertainty from the work of J.G. Bennett. Bruce's first book, FORTUNE, Our Deep Dive into the Mysteries of Love, Healing, and Success, explored the karmic mystery of why stuff happens. Bruce has also written business books. Brand Story™ – How to Position Your Shoestring Start-Up Like a National Brand, draws on his decades-long professional career. He also co-authored Seven Superpowers, a parenting guide by Dr. Maria Gilmour. Bruce is an avid sailor, yoga enthusiast, and has taught the turn of the Whirling Dervishes. His wife Karen is an ordained minister and chaplain educator. More information about Bruce Miller's work can be found at: Bruce Miller's I-Thou website: ithou.com.
This is a very special and different episode for the podcast. The question we are asking, do we return and live our lives over infinitely as Neville Goddard describes in his wheel of recurrence. Neville Goddard spoke in over 20 lectures of the unique idea that the soul in fact does not reincarnate but goes back in time, reliving the same life over starting from 20 years old, sometimes in the same timeline, sometimes in the past or future. Goddard explained that we do this over and over for 6000 years until we flower and experience the promise. In a recent interview with Josiah Brandt, he asked me if I had heard refernce to the Goddard's wheel of recurrence anywhere else? I was perplexed and began looking to see if there was any similar discussion by other classic writers. Initially I found nothing but eventually I came upon a concept that appears to have been quite popular in past philosophical descriptions by everyone from Plato, Pythagoras, Nietzsche, Ouspensky and Gurdjieff. This lead me down a wide rabbit hole of information and discussion of the concept of eternal return PD Ouspensky a russian mystic who studied with the Gurdjiefff another amazing and very different mystical writer, believed that we repeat our lives infinitely. Ouspensky believes that many of us may experience this lives differently each time, evolving, intuiting the future because you have already experienced it. Evolving in a groundhog's day lifetime. Goddard explains that he could remember these lives in one lecture claiming that he had died repeatedly in his sixties. Here I read each the majority of what Goddard has to say in reference to the wheel of recurrence and then explore what ouspensky discusses in his book the search for the miraculous as well as discussing other sources of discussion of the eternal return. Perhaps it is not parallel realities you experiencing but a memory of past lives as we move through the wheel of recurrence. David Lorimer's guest today is Cynthia Bourgeault, who is a modern-day mystic, Episcopal priest, writer, and internationally acclaimed retreat leader. She divides her time between solitude in her seaside hermitage in Maine and a demanding schedule travelling globally to spread the recovery of the Christian contemplative and Wisdom paths. She is a faculty member emeritus of the Center for Action and Contemplation and the founding director of an international network of Wisdom schools, uniting classic Christian mystical and monastic teaching with contemporary practices of mindfulness and embodied presence.Cynthia's signature contribution to the Christian contemplative reawakening has focused in four main areas: Centering Prayer; the Christian Wisdom Tradition; the Christian Inner and Fourth Way Traditions; and The Path of Conscious Love.Imaginal Inspirations is hosted by David Lorimer, Programme Director of the Scientific and Medical Network and Chair of the Galileo Commission, an academic movement dedicated to expanding the evidence base of a science of consciousness. Imaginal cells are responsible for the metamorphosis of the caterpillar into a butterfly, which is the Greek symbol for the soul. Why is self-reflection helpful? Why does one self-reflect? What can be learned from self-reflection? Can someone reflect on one's Self too much? What can be gained through observing self? What can I learn from self-observation? How do I balance self-reflection with experiencing life? In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the tool of self-reflection and self-observation to re-discover ourselves as individuals and as part of the greater collective, and how to create balance between going deeper within and still being present in our physical human experiences. Most of us can agree that we are currently immersed in a human experience. In this experience of life, many people struggle with defining their “purpose.” In this quest to realize and self-actualize our “life purpose,” we can become entangled within our mental puzzlings as we continue our dive into the rabbit hole of what it means to know thySelf. Karista & Shyra discuss Different ways to recognize when reflections of self are done in excess When self-reflection may no longer be supporting you in your growth at that moment The importance of maintaining self care of the different aspects of self When to ask for guidance outside of yourself; we're all still learning something and sometimes we need help : Announcement: Stay tuned next week, on July 13th, for a special guest, past life regressionist Barbara Nadilini Preisnitz, LPC : Resources Mentioned: The Psychology of Man's Possible Evolution by P.D. DON'T MISS IN THIS EPISODE THE SHORT TALK I HAD WITH KAREL MCCOY, JAKE STRATTON-KENT'S GIRLFRIEND, ABOUT HIS ACTUAL HEALTH SITUATION AND THEIR NEWS - starts at 10:24 My guest this week is again someone who really does not need to be introduced in detail, as it is very likely that most of our listeners are familiar to some degree with the personality and works of musician and author Gary Lachman. It is a great pleasure for sure to welcome him back on the show and we're going to have a great time talking about quite a lot but especially about his two most recently published books, ‘Dreaming Ahead of Time: Experiences with Precognitive Dreams, Synchronicity and Coincidence' and ‘The Return of Holy Russia: Apocalyptic History, Mystical Awakening and the Struggle for the Soul of the World'. Gary will tell us about the background of ‘Dreaming Ahead of Time' which is essentially based on a talk he gave 2019 in London about the state called ‘hypnagogia', the strange liminal space between being awake and sleeping and how precognition is easily possible during this specific time. He will lead us back into the 1980s where he took his first steps in experimenting with dreams and explain what role a book published in the 1920s by aeronautical engineer J.W. Dunne played in this scenario. Soon enough our conversation is to become quite philosophical touching upon basic questions of time and its structure and role in language and arts as well as its peculiar trait to be entirely subjective. Gary will also be pointing out the main differences between synchronicity and coincidence and giving us some examples I bet quite a few of our listeners will be able to relate to. This episode's second subject will be Gary's book ‘The Return of Holy Russia' which was published right at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020. Gary will provide our audience with some background on how the writing process is connected to his previous book ‘Dark Star Rising' which was mainly focused on the politics around Trump, the Alt-Right and Chaos Magick. We'll be talking about Aleksandr Dugin, Putin and trying to illuminate the idea behind their geopolitical ambitions, not in order to justify them, only to understand the context behind them. Finally, Gary will tell us about his most recent not yet published book on Maurice Nicoll, a Scottish physicist and psychiatrist from the 20th century who was not only studying with Jung but also with Gurdijeff and Ouspensky which makes him a fascinating individual so that Gary decided to write a biography about him. Gary's page on Wikipedia His own website And finally his Amazon.com page Music played in this episode 1) SHE GOT ARRESTED - The Interrupters This track is a tribute to Jack Stratton-Kent, the whole occult community is thinking of him and wishing him speedy recovery from his stroke. The paradox of free will vs. determinism has been one of great philosophical questions of all time. Su and Johana look at this from a perspective of freeing ourself and living a life of less suffering. At first glance, it is threatening to even think that we do not have the free will we think we have. From an eastern enlightenment perspective, where the existence of a separate self is seen through, the idea of free will can easily be deconstructed. When looked at more deeply, it can be seen, not as a lack but as a way to see that Reality functions as a whole, and everything is inter-dependent. There is a great relief from the suffering of blame, shame and taking credit for anything. It is a paradox as we will always have the experience that we are making free choices, but as always, things are not what they seem. Podcast: This week on the show, we present a pre-recorded conversation with Robin Bloor, author of To Fathom The Gist Volume III: The Arousing of Thought. In this book, Robin demonstrates a method of reading and comprehending the contents of G. I. Gurdjieff's master work, All and Everything: Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson. Our conversation ranges from some practical insights from The Tales, to the nature of Objective Art, to an introduction to the subject of Objective Science. Robin was born in 1951 in Liverpool, UK. He obtained a BSc in Mathematics at Nottingham University and took up a career in the computer industry, initially writing software. From 1989 onwards, he became a technology analyst and consultant. He has thus been a writer of a kind ever since. In 2002 he was awarded an honorary Ph.D. in Computer Science by Wolverhampton University in the UK. He currently resides in and works from Austin, Texas in the USA. In 1988, after drifting through several work groups, Bloor met and became a pupil of Rina Hands. Rina was a one-time associate of J. G. Bennett, a student of Peter Ouspensky's, and later, a pupil of George Gurdjieff. Following Gurdjieff's death, she remained part of J. G. Bennett's group for a while. Subsequently, she formed groups both in London, where she lived, and in Bradford in the North of England-initially in conjunction with Madame Nott. She was an accomplished movements teacher and an inspirational group leader. She died in 1994 and is buried next to Jane Heap in a cemetery in North London. Robin leads a group, The Austin Gurdjieff Society, in Austin, Texas. Aside from the usual movements and Work activities, the group specializes in the study of Gurdjieff's writings and the study of Objective Science, as articulated by Ouspensky in In Search of The Miraculous, and by Gurdjieff in The Tales. The concept of mechanicality, that all people are machines reacting to external forces, is a central idea in the Gurdjieff teaching. It is vividly described in the early chapters of In Search of the Miraculous, P.D. Ouspensky’s lucid account of his talks and experiences with Gurdjieff from 1915 to 1923. Two members of our New … Continue reading Vin and Jack: Mechanicality
Podcast: This week on The Mystical Positivist, we feature a conversation pre-recorded on February 28th, 2020 with Rupert Spira. From an early age Rupert Spira was deeply interested in the nature of reality. At the age of seventeen he learnt to meditate, and began studying and practicing the teachings of the classical Advaita Vedanta tradition under the guidance of Dr. Francis Roles and Shantananda Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of the north of India, which he continued for the next twenty years. During this time he immersed himself in the teachings of P.D.Ouspensky, Krishnamurti, Rumi, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta, and Robert Adams, until he met his teacher, Francis Lucille, in 1997. Francis introduced Rupert to the Direct Path teachings of Atmanada Krishnamenon; Jean Klein and the tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism; and, more importantly, directly indicated to him the true nature of experience. In his meetings, Rupert explores the perennial, non-dual understanding that lies at the heart of all the great religious and spiritual traditions, such as Advaita Vedanta, Kashmir Shaivism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Mystical Christianity, Sufism, Zen etc., and which is also the direct, ever-present reality of our own experience. This is a contemporary, experiential approach involving silent meditation, guided meditation and conversation, and requires no affiliation to any particular religious or spiritual tradition. All that is required is an interest in the essential nature of experience, and in the longing for love, peace and happiness around which most of our lives revolve.
