Jeff and Rich travel through time and space once more for the summer. This time, it's the Riviera Drive-In in Oklahoma City, OK, circa 1977. The monsters are on the revolt and the world is on the brink of destruction as we watch Godzilla vs. the Cosmic Monster (aka Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla), Kingdom of the Spiders, and Night of the Damned (aka Messiah of Evil.) Along the way, we welcome our dear friend and kaiju expert Jonathan Angarola, revel in the awesomeness of one of the best "nature gone wild" films, and dive deep into the fascinating making-of story of an unintentional horror classic. We highly recommend you also check out the video companion on our YouTube channel. It contains content (movie clips, bonus features, and outtakes) from the audio podcast that you don't want to miss! You have probably learned a lot of life lessons in the past 18 months. You've had plans canceled and changed. You recognize that life doesn't always happen the way you imagined. You might have even questioned if you are on the right path. Kevin's conversation today with Richard Dahlstrom explores the ideas of hope, connecting with God, and the illusion of control. "Once we recognize that control is an illusion, then we open our hands and let Christ shepherd us along the way. That's the real journey." Be deeply encouraged by today's episode. This month we return to a classic horror profile with the star of Dr. Renault's Secret (1942), Fog Island (1945), and Lured (1947), George Zucco. Known as a "spellbinder" on stage and "one-take Zucco" on screen, George Zucco carried a magnificent presence, but was always a gentleman. . Although he was a neighbor of Lionel Atwill, they didn't share the same social life. Nevertheless, the author of Hollywood Babylon II claimed Zucco's final days were just as scandalous. What really happened? Jeff and Richard will set the story straight (with a little help from printed reference materials called, "books.") . Taking to the track in the Praga for the 2021 Britcar Endurance Championship, following a successful career to date, Richard Morris isn’t our only guest on the podcast who first caught the racing bug at a friend’s karting party. Creating valuable relationships and building a strong network is something he prides himself on, which in recent years led him to become a works driver for sports prototype team, Spire Sports Cars. In this conversation, Richard candidly shares with us how it had been harder for him to be open about his sexuality in motorsport, than in other areas of his life - horrifically even at one point having had homophobic abuse written on his kart in permanent marker. Committed to championing the LGBTQ+ community both on and off the track, in 2019 Richard co-founded the innovative movement and network, Racing Pride, which strives to promote inclusivity within motorsport.Find Richard on Instagram @RichardMorrisRacing and Twitter @RichardMRacing. In October 2016, Richard Jacobs started the Future Tech Podcast, which has now become the Finding Genius Podcast – the goal was to learn about ‘round-the-corner’ new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, 3D printing, stem cells, regenerative medicine, Bitcoin and blockchain, and more. Due to a major health crisis in 2017, Richard decided to focus more on health, medicine and bioscience issues that affect all of us as human beings. In the middle of 2019, Richard realized that what he was actually doing (and had been doing for 15+ years) was seeking out the best of the best in any given field – the 1 in 1,000 genius practitioner in their field – and interviewing them to learn everything he could. Richard calls this: “Finding Geniuses” and it has since become the new name for this podcast – The Finding Genius Podcast. He quickly understood how to lose the fear that disempowers people in business every day. This episode of the Arete Podcast is basically our own private masterclass from Paul. By the end of it, you’ll have some great tips on how to lose that fear, and as Paul says, ‘how to show up in your own reality’. Richard Adams is a Yorkshire based musician who releases music as The Declining Winter and was the co-founder of the group Hood. We talk about the music scene in Leeds around 20 years ago when we first met and the factors from that time and the people that drove DIY culture. We explore how place influences art and our collaboration on a track from Belmont Slopes, the most recent Declining winter album, called Later and Later Indeed in which we honour the memory of our good friend Archie a much respected sound engineer who passed away in 2016. It's a great conversation especially if you like the type of art people make in their bedrooms.Find Richard on Twitter @DecliningWinterhttps://thedecliningwinter.bandcamp.com/http://www.thedecliningwinter.com/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtwL59hiYOA&ab_channel=TheDecliningWinter-Topichttps://memorydrawings.bandcamp.com/Music: Christian Death - When I was BedTheme Tune by Tom Baker and Daisy Eris Campbell

The 1930s had been a golden decade for Lionel Atwill. He was one of Hollywood's most highly respected and sought-after character actors. He was earning substantial amounts of money that offered him a luxurious standard of living. He was married to an extremely wealthy woman. He traveled often from East Coast to West Coast and back again, making the most of his homes in both - a large house and beach homes in Los Angeles, and a palatial mansion out East in Maryland. He had two yachts, one on a lake near his Baltimore home, the other on the West Coast. He had a valet to look after all his domestic needs. In his social life, he met and entertained rich and important guests - some of the foreign royalty - whose presence gave him prestige and status. It was a dream life. What could possibly go wrong? Of all the academic choices a student entering eighth grade or high school must make, math course selection exerts the most influence on future choices. What should a student, parent, or counselor consider when weighing the options? Amy and Mike invited author and math expert Richard Corn to clarify the process of choosing high school math courses strategically.  What are five things you will learn in this episode? What should drive math course selection? How do grade level, accelerated, and gifted tracks differ?  Can students change tracks in high school? What are the implications of math course selection for SAT and ACT scores? Should advanced math students choose calculus or statistics? MEET OUR GUEST Before tutoring, Richard was designing and building computer systems for large corporations. He decided to pursue his longstanding interest in mathematics and education, and since then he has helped hundreds of middle school and high school students with their studies in mathematics and with preparation for standardized tests.  His standardized testing students have increased their math scores by as much as 210 SAT points (or ACT equivalent).  When students complained about the quality of the prep books sold by big box publishers, Richard decided to write his own books for the math sections of the ACT and SAT.  His books have been very successful, having sold more than 36,000 copies. Book sales are mostly on Amazon, but there have also been direct sales to school book stores and tutoring companies. Listen up for a frank interview about business and about life with our guest Richard Triggs. Not only does Richard have a successful recruitment company - he has absolutely nailed the lifestyle to go with it. His company Arete Executive derives its meaning from the Greek word for fulfilling one’s full potential, “Arete”. Richard has certainly done that, but not in the sense of millions of dollars of revenue. He’s done it his way.     See some of Richard’s top tips below: **  Properly assess your life goals. Don’t assume that business goals are the same as life goals. **  Beware the dangers of running a business with your nearest and dearest! The stakes were just too high for Richard. **  Don’t underestimate the power of business coaching. Of course we would say that, but it really helped Richard through his tough times. **  Get your funding in place before you start trading. Don’t start your business too early. **  Remember there is a difference between being highly skilled in your field and running a business. Some of the skills are interchangeable, but not all of them will be.     In this episode of Business Brain Food you will learn: **  How to build a lifestyle business **  The definition of a lifestyle business **  The power of personal development **  The dangers of growth for growth’s sake **  How business should fit into the wider sphere of life     Resources mentioned in this episode: **  Do you think you have what it takes to become a Business Excellerator at Max My Profit? Make sure you properly understand how your business can help you achieve your OWN success.   Also, if you are enjoying these Business Brain Food podcasts, then make sure to share them via social media sites or email the links to family and friends. A lot of time and effort goes into producing each of these podcasts with the goal in mind of the more people we can inspire about business the better. "Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift."     -Mary Oliver In a quiet pond deep in the woods the spirits of drowned women await mortal petitioners who will accept their gifts. Rusalka is still in progress and we were honored that the designer, Nick Wedig, allowed us to share a game with our listeners. The Map:  To the South is the Village. To the North deeper woods. On the south side of the pond is a path, and cutting across it, a barrier between the village and the pond, is a line of crude stone spears set in the ground. Also on the south side, on a finger that juts in, sits a black stump that has been used as a sacrificial altar. On the Eastern bank a massive frog has made a burrow in the mud. In the West the pond has been diverted towards a reflecting pool, once ringed with stones and spanned by a stone bridge supporting a plinth for wedding ceremonies, the pool has fallen to ruins and the water has begun to form a marsh.
