This weeks guest is Theresa Bell who joins us from Atlanta, Georgia. Originally born and raised in Jacksonville Florida, Theresa has resided in Atlanta for the past 15 years. Theresa has a background in performing arts and her artistic creativity was easily translated into becoming a mixologist Queen. Theresa has traveled all over the world in both her dance and mixology career. This allowed her to develop a very diverse palette when it comes to mixing and matching flavors and out of the box ingredients. Theresa started her career in hospitality as a server and quickly worked her way up to creating cocktail menus and managing bar programs. Theresa gained her knowledge by traveling world wide and learning from master distillers, to winning competitions, and being featured in Thirsty magazine, and Gentlemen‘s Jack magazine. Many, when they think of Edwards, believe he was no more than a "hellfire and brimstone preacher" because of his sermon, "Sinners In the Hands of an Angry God" that they read while in high school or college. Nothing could be further from the truth on this matter. Edwards could preach on heaven, the Christian life, salvation, love (as seen in his "Charity and Its Fruits" sermon series, along with many other topics of faith just as well as he preached on eternal punishment. This episode of 2Days Denarius gives the listener a glimpse of another side of Edwards that is often ignored. How he could preach about Christ, forgiveness of sin, and salvation in the two devotionals in this podcast with a gentle but total focus on the truth about God's forgiveness for the greatest of sinners will give great encouragement to the lost and those who are saved as well. Though many have been making their own speculations and conclusions, it has become clear now that Lawson needed this "silent time" as an opportunity for repentance, which resulted from an extra-marital affair over a five-year period. On this episode of 2Days Denarius, we will examine Steve Lawson's extended message that was posted on "X" March 12, 2025. This post contained his confession and grief over his sin and explains the process of repentance and recovery during this six month time frame. His silence was explained, in addition to his seeking reconciliation with his wife and family. This thoughtful and detailed letter to the church at large on "X" is one for all of us to see as an example of the proper response and handling of a believer caught in sin, repentance, healing, recovery, and restoration as led by mature Christians in accordance with Galatians 6:1-2. Nick Padlo only went to the college recruiting event for the promise of free food at his favorite restaurant. It turned out that no food was served, but a 3 minute video that was shown ended up changing the course of his life. It was a US Army recruitment video and Nick went on to attend West Point, serve in combat overseas, and launch a business career from there. A good measure of success took place but other aspects of his life disinigrated. He ended up divorced and despondent, his accelerating substance and alcohol misuse part of the downward spiral. Eventually he decided he needed help and found a path that combined SMART Recovery and 12-Step programs. It transformed his view of his life's purpose and he decided to use his entrepreneurial skills to start Sophros Recovery a treatment center in his hometown of Jacksonville Florida. In this podcast, Nick talks about the quest for perfection that nearly ruined him, his application of recovery tools to the wider realm of mental health, and why he believes everyone can find their way back to health.

A startling discovery has shaken the community as investigators, serving a search warrant at an abandoned funeral home, found three bodies inside a mortuary. This disturbing revelation has led to accusations against Marion Graham Mortuaries funeral home director, Elliot Maurice Graham, 49, who is now facing charges of grand theft and improper preservation of a human body. The investigation unfolded following a complaint lodged with Florida's Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis's office, which oversees funeral homes and mortuaries to ensure they uphold the highest standards of respect and dignity when handling the remains of the deceased. In response to the distressing situation, Patronis emphasized the importance of holding Graham accountable: "We are going to do everything possible to put this guy behind bars for a very long time. Nothing is more important than family – and as our loved ones pass away – it's always a difficult situation, and families are entrusting funeral directors to treat their loved ones with respect and dignity. These allegations indicate that this alleged criminal did the opposite." The alleged misconduct includes the provision of fake ashes to grieving families, a betrayal of trust that has left many reeling. One family, in particular, expressed their shock and disappointment when they received what were supposed to be the ashes of their beloved grandmother. However, upon closer inspection, they discovered that what they had received bore no resemblance to human ashes. Pauline Durden, whose family was affected by this deception, passed away six months ago. Her granddaughter, Johnesha Kemp, shared her dismay, stating, "They looked more like 'chalk or ground kitty litter' to me." Kemp also revealed that Graham had been unprofessional in their interactions, often giving them "the runaround." However, Kemp expressed relief at Graham's arrest, stating, "It gave us a little bit of closure, knowing that we now have my grandma. The person who did this horrendous act is now behind bars, and the process is getting moved, and we can finally let it go and let her rest in peace." The incident has raised concerns about the entire funeral industry's integrity and accountability. Patronis emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, and any other death services professionals involved could face the revocation of their licenses or criminal charges. Marion Graham Mortuaries Funeral home has been a fixture in the Jacksonville area since 1984, with Elliot Graham taking over from his father, Marion Graham, upon his passing in 2018. This unsettling case has ignited conversations about the need for increased oversight and regulation within the funeral industry to ensure that families can trust that their loved ones are treated with the utmost care, respect, and dignity during their final moments.
