Is It Possible To Make Our Screens "Healthier"? The New Blue-Light, Flicker-Free Technology That May Change the Face Of Computing Forever, With Daylight Computer's Anjan Katta

Anjan suffered from eye strain and disrupted sleep cycles, as well as worsening of ADHD symptoms from using modern computers. Resolving to do something about this, Anjan committed to reading only from paper which meant he had to print everything he wanted to read from a computer screen. He soon missed the convenience of computers. He became more enthralled with e-ink, buying and testing every e-ink device on the market. Finding these products were too slow to function as helpful, productive tools, Anjan hacked e-ink devices. Yet, they were too slow and ineffective to serve more practical computing needs. This journey led to Anjan innovating screen technology specifically suited for eye health and circadian rhythm preservation. Additionally, Anjan developed a vision for an entire operating system that prioritizes holistic health. After developing his first prototype, Anjan navigated the challenges of bringing the device to production. Through the long journey and the successful launch of Daylight's first product, Anjan has received overwhelming feedback of the life-changing effect of his product and vision. Thousands resonate with Anjan's belief in the potential for technology to enhance rather than detract from people's well-being. Daylight's goal is to offer alternative technology solutions that support your health, attention, freedom, and quest to live a more balanced life. Kevin Wong, co-founder and chief executive of Origami Labs, says Orii is the world's first voice-powered smart ring. It is a private communication tool that uses voice assistance technology to communicate. The ring uses sound as a physical vibration which passes directly through your finger and into your ear. Kevin explains that screen free technology is his area of interest and this has been inspired by his dad who has been sight impaired from the age of thirteen. In fact, Kevin’s dad also works in technology and was one of the first blind programmers in Hong Kong, who helped build the world first voice activated computer in the 1990’s. Kevin’s main goal in his tech development work is to create products that are inclusive and meaningful, and this is what he and his team have done with the Orii ring. Kevin started programming at the age of 6 or 7 and was taught by his father. Working in the Start Up space as an entrepreneur has been a wonderful journey for Kevin and he discusses the qualities of person suited to this type of career. He gives advice for anyone who wants to work in the Start Up space. Kevin explains that “the screen free revolution is one of the hottest topics in Silicon Valley”. He is at the forefront of this revolution, is an award winner and will be someone to watch in the future as he is bound to create more ground-breaking technology that “contributes something to society”. Register HERE!   3 Things We Learned From This Episode Practice active listening (2:15-2:50) Instead of repeating your script, ask questions. Listen to the concerns of the sellers and speak more about the specific solutions you can offer to their problems instead of speaking about your qualifications and experience.   Send out detailed reports about the properties (09:55-11:10) Homedisclosure.com tells you everything from what’s trending in a certain neighborhood to the weather risk, environmental risk, and even the sex offenders in the neighborhood. Complete reports never fail to impress, simply because they’re so valuable. Print them or send them via email to your prospects.   Be aware of down payment assistance programs (27:40-28:50) Who could say no to you when you can save them money? Downpaymentresource.com aggregates all the different places from where your buyers can get payment assistance. A tool like this is incredibly helpful since 87% of the properties qualify for at least one type of down payment assistance, from funding to reduced interest rates.   On average, each seller knows at least 12 agents-- but 67% choose to interview only one. They usually pick the agent they’ve seen recently or have a connection with. Make sure you are that agent. There are many ways you can build a connection with your prospects, from client appreciation events to interacting with them on social media and sending out gift cards. Don’t hesitate to take advantage of tech tools to leave no room for doubt in the seller’s mind that you are the right choice.   Guest Bio Bernice Ross is a nationally syndicated columnist, author, trainer, and speaker. She couples her expertise as a Master Certified Coach with over 20 years of real estate sales experience. Bernice has two best selling real estate books to her credit, plus over 1,000 articles in publications such as Inman News, The Swanepoel Trends Report for 2015, Banker Tradesman, and numerous association and trade publications. This can also share bookmarks with Delicious- thus, when you dropped something in a box, it would also put a bookmark in Delicious for you. Here's how they say that teachers can use SimplyBox: I am a teacher, how do I create accounts for my students? a) You, as the teacher, can create a second account with SimplyBox in the name of the entire class. Then you would need to give the kids the user name and password you created for the account. By the way, the account then is only accessible by people that have the user name and password for the account. The students then will be able to see the content of the boxes in the account and add comments - from any computer. Now, if they need to add content to the account, they would need the SimplyBox toolbar (the one with the "Box It" button) downloaded on whatever computer they are using. b) You can simply use Public Boxes (you create them under the Sharing menu option). Each Public Box has a URL. So, students can access the URL and see the content of the box and their comments to the different items. And the creator of the Public Box can delete the box at any time. Since this is a Public Box, students will not be able to add content to the Public Box, only comments. NMSA09: Roadblock to Success: I AM STUPID!
