The Douglas Lake Cattle Company has won a BC Court of Appeal case, which overturns a ruling that forced it to allow public access to two lakes in the Nicola Valley. In the decision, a three-member panel voted unanimously that the trail leading to Minnie Lake and Stoney Lake is not public land. Their decision came after a ruling in Kamloops court in 2018 that the cattle company had to allow access to those two lakes. Just a year and a half ago, Immortals Gaming Club had one of the widest esports portfolios of any organization. With the selling of the OpTic brand the spot in the CDL, they lost some goodwill. Now with the LA Valiant being entirely released late in the offseason, they've lost the rest. It's a bad situation and clearly IGC needs to make some organizational changes soon. Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) isn't going out of business but there's a clear change in strategy. In a week that saw IGC sell the org's spot in the CDL to 100 Thieves and the OpTic brand back to Hecz, a report in Bloomberg says that IGC is also shopping the Los Angeles Valiant's spot in the OWL. Last year IGC sold the Houston Outlaws to Beasley Media Group after acquiring them from Infinite Esports and Entertainment. That brings IGC from three teams in AB's franchised leagues to zero in just over a year. Read the Bloomberg report here. Welcome to the Hagen's Alley Books Podcast! Throughout the years I've met a lot of cool people involved in gaming and what better excuse to use my gift of gab then to chat with them about everything and anything gaming? For Episode 2 I have on the always awesome Dan O'Day from Rebel Gaming Club. Dan is an really cool dude and has a lot to with the underground punk music scene. After the classic update, we go into the RGC, how it started and Dan's motivations behind why he does what he does. RGC is also going to be at TooManyGames doing a concert on the main stage and we talk about how he has been preparing for that and the community effort to how this all became a reality. We then go into a really interesting conversation about collecting and where things could go in the upcoming years as there are tons of variables that people never think of! Be sure to check out the sound from the underground, the Rebel Gaming Club as they are always putting out awesome stuff! Be sure to check out the Link to RGC on YouTube

Episode 129 of The Independent Characters marks our return to the microphone after a six month hiatus with Carl, Adan, and Justin. Carl was apparently the only one that wasn't aware we were returning. You will hear all about the reasons for the return and how we have changed our format slightly to ensure quality family and gaming time! After a massive hobby progress and games played update we introduce two new guest hosts for our new segments. Doug (aka Replacement Geoff) is joined by Zach (no not THAT Zach - A NEW one!) to review Fantasy Flight Games Forbidden Stars as well as talk about Faultline 40k, a new gaming club in the Bay Area that emphasizes painting, playing and the narrative approach to gaming. We take some time to talk about what the plans are for Faultline 40k, where they are heading and how you can get involved if you are local to the scene here. Even if you aren't a local to the Bay Area, you may find the discussion inspirational and packed with some good advice. We are happy to be back in the saddle. In some ways it feels like we never left. Thanks for all of your continued support while we were on break! It's because of the supportive comments from our awesome community that we have returned. (at least in part). Also thank you to Doug and Zach for helping out with this episode. We hope you enjoy!
