It's the Wednesday after the boys dusted off the Vegas Golden Knights, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap yet another Edmonton Oilers series win while also looking back at the week that was. On today's podcast, I looked ahead to the Western Conference Final, examined how the Oilers' depth outplayed the Golden Knights, discussed Mattias Ekholm's potential return, and more.The Oilers are kicking off their third trip to the Western Conference Final in the last four seasons, and that has the city buzzing about whether our boys can get through to the big dance for a second straight season. Standing in their way is a Dallas Stars team that has rolled through the first two rounds, and it will be a significant challenge for our boys to keep their offence at bay. While many of us are understandably focused on Mikko Rantanen's playoff success, a number of Dallas' depth players have been held in check through their first eight wins, and Edmonton will need to keep those players quiet if they want to get through this series.Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with a massive round of voicemails. Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. Whether you think Edmonton has a better chance against Winnipeg or Dallas, there are angles you could run with for why the Oilers matchup against either team, but thinking about the next opponent was a fun debate. Looking back at the week that was, we walked through the Oilers' performance, including their back-to-back shutouts against the Golden Knights, and how our side was able to strengthen as the series progressed. What stuck throughout the entire series, though, was Edmonton's ability to get goals at key moments from depth players at times when it mattered most. A perfect example was how Kasperi Kapanen sat out the first nine games of the playoffs before returning and making an immediate impact. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week.
