Friday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio is ready to be enjoyed. On today's podcast, the fellas discussed Edmonton's series win over Vegas, what to expect from the Western Conference Final, and much more. The boys started the Friday episode of ONR with a delicious debate about who everyone would prefer to face in the Western Conference Final if they could wave a magic wand and make it happen. Whether you think Edmonton has a better chance against Winnipeg or Dallas, there are angles you could run with for why the Oilers matchup against either team, but thinking about the next opponent was a fun debate. Looking back at the week that was, we walked through the Oilers' performance, including their back-to-back shutouts against the Golden Knights, and how our side was able to strengthen as the series progressed. What stuck throughout the entire series, though, was Edmonton's ability to get goals at key moments from depth players at times when it mattered most. A perfect example was how Kasperi Kapanen sat out the first nine games of the playoffs before returning and making an immediate impact. Finally, we wrapped up the Friday episode of ONR with another round of Ask the Idiots, betting talk for our friends at bet365, and Hot and Cold Performers to look back on the week. It's incredible how much things can change after those first two losses to L.A., isn't it? Especially when you remember that the Oilers were down 2-0 in the series at this same point only a week ago. Life comes at you fast, doesn't it? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

It's the Thursday after the boys dusted off the Vegas Golden Knights, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap yet another Edmonton Oilers series win while also looking back at the week that was. On today's podcast, I recapped last night's Game 5 win, how the Oilers' depth beat the Golden Knights, Kasperi Kapanen's OT winner, and much more.Even though I usually start the podcast with some kind of personal life updates about TV shows, music, or whatever else has been going on, all I wanted to do today was talk about the Oilers. With that in mind, I skipped the usual small talk and dove right into my takes about the boys punting the Golden Knights out of the playoffs in only five games. When I last recorded BLTN, the Oilers had just won Game 1 and had a chance to steal a second game on the road, taking command of the series. Just over a week later, our boys not only got that first job done, but they ended up winning three of the next four. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with a massive round of voicemails. The voicemail was very busy this week, and the messages were all over the map. As always, finishing up the show with your opinions is my favourite part of the whole thing and something I always look forward to most. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode because having you in the mix makes the show so much better.

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded, edited, and is ready to help you through the rest of your workweek. On today's podcast, the guys discussed the Oilers' series-clinching win, Stuart Skinner posting back-to-back shutouts, and much more. The guys kicked off the Thursday episode of Real Life with a random conversation about Instagram ads and how you can sometimes be following an account only to have them pivot to the weirdest posts for cash. That led the guys to wonder what the model is for these accounts to abandon their normal content in favour of ads that annoy all of their followers. Clearly, there's money to be made, but is that angle the right one?Turning back to the Oilers, the team walked through the series-clinching win in Game 5, discussing how it was an incredible victory given how tight the game ultimately shook out. The most impressive part of that win was how the Oilers were able to suppress the Golden Knights offensively, leaving them with next to nothing in the offensive zone. Equally impressive was the way Edmonton kept getting depth goals at key moments when we needed them most.Changing gears, the guys took a look at some news from around the NHL to share their thoughts on what's been happening. Starting with Sam Gagner signing in Ottawa in player development to the Toronto Maple Leafs imploding on themselves in Game 5 at home, the Thursday episode of the podcast was all over the map and arguably the most fun the boys have had in a minute.

A clear lack of effort has the Leafs down 3-2 to the defending champions. Is this it for Toronto and what does this mean for the franchise? On the flip side, the Edmonton Oilers have eliminated the Vegas Golden Knights with a 1-0 win in Overtime in Game 5. Kasperi Kapanen is the hero for Edmonton as they advance to the Western Conference Finals. We then look to tonights games as both the Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals find themselves in desperation mode as they are both down 3-1 in their series. Will they be eliminated tonight or live to force a Game 6?Away from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Frank and Tyler break down the upcoming offseason for the Chicago Blackhawks. Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded and edited and is set to massage your ear feelings. On the Tuesday edition of the podcast, the guys discussed the Edmonton Oilers' stranglehold on the Golden Knights, Stuart Skinner's shutout, Kris Knoblauch's line combination changes, and more. The guys kicked off the Tuesday episode of Oilersnation Radio with a delicious debate about the Oilers' goaltending, and whether we would go back to Calvin Pickard when he gets healthy again or if Stuart Skinner's shutout is enough to give No. 74 another chance at a run. While there's no doubt that Calvin Pickard was fantastic in the six games he played, you can't discount how solid Skinner was in Game 4. But the question is whether one game was enough to turn the crease back over to Stuart Skinner.Looking back at Game 4, we started the recap with a conversation about Evander Kane. The player has been exceptional since returning from injury, and being able to raise his level despite being out for 10 months is causing havoc for the Golden Knights. We also discussed Kris Knoblauch's lineup changes landing perfectly, as both Kasperi Kapanen and Troy Stecher made immediate impacts. Having both of those guys play as well as they did led to another secondary debate about whether they've done enough to stick in the lineup for Game 5. Finally, the fellas wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with a run of betting talk for our friends at bet365, keys to close out the series, and offered a few reasons why everyone should believe the Oilers can get the job done at T-Mobile in Game 5. As you'll hear, the boys feel bullish about the Oilers' chances of getting the job done, but that'll only happen if they can bring the same effort that saw them close out their first-round matchup against Los Angeles. Draymond Green, acting like a fool again, but the racist slur wasn't cool. The Celtics had a very rough few games at home, but rebounded to get a win in The Garden versus the New York Knicks. Abdul Carter settled on wearing number 51, instead of 11 and 56. Retired numbers are retired for a special reason. We send out our condolences to former Detroit Tigers legend Chet Lemon. Chet passed away at the age of 70 this week. Happy Mother's Day to everyone. Have a great day and celebrate mom in a very special way. We will be back next week with Episode 269. Thank you again for your time and listening to this podcast. See you soon.

Hour 1 Today on the show, Gio and Jerry are filling in for Boomer, who's at Joe Burrow's golf tournament in Cincinnati. Gio wants Jerry to wear the Celtics jersey to tease Boomer. The Oilers' 2-0 series lead against the Golden Knights was noted. The hour ended with a discussion about seagulls at the Vatican signaling the new Pope. Hour 2 Gio discussed a potentially embarrassing video revealing the Giants' desire to trade up for Cam Ward, questioning how Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart might feel. Jerry argued that as the #1 pick, they shouldn't be offended, but Gio suggested young players' egos might take it differently. Despite the tough NFC East and a challenging schedule where they might be underdogs in every game, Jerry is taking the over on 5.5 Giants wins. Before C-Lo's update, Eddie from Commack, the Mets fan pictured at the Vatican, called in. The conversation then shifted to the new Pope, with Evan Roberts linking Jalen Brunson beyond the Villanova connection, and clips of Chris Russo breaking down the new Pope. Finally, a self-proclaimed #1 Al Dukes fan shared a "Cinco de Five-0" about Al, followed by Jerry's own list of Al's annoying habits. Hour 3 Gio noted the Knicks would feel great up 3-0 but are still in a good position at 2-1, despite being underdogs. Jerry is wearing a Celtics jersey in Boomer's chair to annoy him over his Nets fandom. The conversation touched on George Pickens joining the Cowboys and the challenge for Dak Prescott managing him and Cee Dee Lam b. They took Knicks calls regarding game 3, and Gio mentioned a new Black Mirror episode. Caller Tracy asked if Gio and Jerry played sports growing up. C-Lo's update included Paul Pierce not walking barefoot to work as promised after the Knicks' win, Boston sports radio dismissing the Knicks as "trash," an usher trying to remove Knicks fans, and Dave Portnoy calling them "despicable." The hour concluded with Jerry announcing a charity golf tournament on August 18th in Marlboro, NJ, and a mention of a pro-am involving Kevin Costner. Hour 4 Pablo Torre reported that Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is banned from UNC facilities, prompting Gio to comment on how attractiveness can influence tolerance for "crazy."
