“I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me. They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in our steps; They have set their eyes, crouching down to the earth, As a lion is eager to tear his prey, And like a young lion lurking in secret places.” This is one of three Psalms that David wrote and called “A Prayer of David” (Psalms 17, 86, 142). David had been anointed by Samuel to be the next king of Israel. He had killed Goliath and become a national hero. He had become a commander in Saul's army and was best friends with his son Jonathan. But Saul got jealous and had tried to personally kill David on two occasions in the palace and he had to flee for his life. For the next 10 years David was a fugitive in the wilderness. This is the time David cried out to the Lord for deliverance and wrote these Psalms. First, David prayed for vindication (vv. 1-5), and now he is praying for protection (vv. 6-12). The enemy had surrounded him (vv. 9, 11; and see 1 Sam. 23:19-29), and though David was a masterful military tactician, he knew that without the Lord's help, he could not escape. God was not only the righteous judge, but He was also the powerful defender who could shelter David and his men from the enemy. He used the Hebrew name El as he addressed the Lord, a name that emphasizes God's great power, for He is "the Mighty God." His request in verse 7reminds us of the "Song of Moses" in Exodus 15:1-19. Jehovah is a God of marvels and wonders (Ex. 15:11) and great unfailing love (15:13), and His right hand works for His people (15:12). If God could deliver His people from Egypt, He could deliver David from the hand of Saul. (In Ps. 18, David will celebrate that victory.) David asked for "a marvelous demonstration of God's love" in the defeat of his enemies. Have you ever felt like David with people lying about you and attempting to beat you down? I'm convinced David knew the first five books of the Bible, (“the Torah, the Law of Moses”) like the back of his hand. Our defense is still the found in our faith that comes from the Word of God and prayer! Like David, may we trust in the greatness of our God and ask Him to protect us “under the Shadow of His Wings”. Yes, Malachi chapter 4 verse (2) " But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His Wings; and ye shall go forth and grow up as calves from the stall." Listen, God is teaching us the value of Patience and the Power of Prayer. Continue to Pray through to your Breakthrough.....You are not alone!

Whenever I hear the phrase "he made the cut" or "making the cut" I think of players on some sort of sports team or something where they had to go through a great testing period before they were considered acceptable enough to move on up to the final action, or be drafted. I tried to look that phrase or idiom up and apparently it is used a lot in golf lol. I couldn't seem to find the phrase origin but in my mind, I also thought of the early origin of the film industry when the editors physically cut out parts of a film and if your performance wasn't good enough, you might, as they say, "end up on the cutting room floor" and possibly even cut out of the movie's end credits! The fact is, that none of us want to be cut out of the action. None of us want to be cut out of the winnings and rewards that come from participating in the action either! And do you know that the Lord doesn't want to cut us out? But WE are the ones who are making a decision day by day as to whether we are IN Christ or OUT of Christ. That is a choice WE make. And John 15 goes over this and describes the results of not "abiding" in Christ. Disobedience to the Word of God is one way to not abide. Loving our idols and the things that take our heart or service away from Him is not abiding. Accepting the principles of this world and making them our truths and placing them above the stated Word of God is not abiding in Him. When we choose to sin. When we choose to not forgive. When we're "too busy" to go to church or to do something God has directed us to do. When we spiritualize disobedience, meaning, we say that "the Holy Spirit told me" to do this or that which is in direct contradiction to a command so clearly defined in the Bible but looks good to others when you say it. No that is called a slap in the Lord's face. What is it then? Is it through works that we make the cut then? Jesus spoke of having a confrontation in the future with these so-called "Christian" believers who were doing some pretty convincing works, signs as you might say of a believer: "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7: 22-23) May God have mercy on us! Today is the day of salvation! Today is the day that we make a choice to repent and turn back toward the Lord, to KNOW HIM is to KNOW HIS WORD AND OBEY IT. "Working iniquity" is actively choosing to disobey God's Word or even claiming ignorance to it! We can break the law here on earth and still be fined despite claiming ignorance to it! How much more does God consider His Law holy?? We cannot plead the Blood of Jesus or come under His Wings of protection if we are actively disobeying Him. And we can only learn how to obey Him and do His Works with His help, with the Helper He gave us, the Holy Spirit. It is He who guides us into all Truth (John 16:13), and who is the Truth? Jesus said "I am the Way, the Life and the Truth" (John 14:6) and we know in John 15--apart from Jesus WE CAN DO NOTHING (John 15:5)! And the opposite is true!  With faith in God and obedience to His Word, we can do the impossible things that the Father tells us to do and that is the difference (Hebrews 11:6)! That is why we need His Word AND the Guide, His Holy Spirit. For when we choose to not "abide" in Him as John 15 describes, we are shriveled branches of the Vine --yikes!--and the Bible says that "men" will gather those branches up to be "burned". We may look good to others even as we walk in disobedience and the Bible warns us NOT to be those or associate with those who have chosen the religious "form of godliness but deny the power thereof" in 2 Timothy 3:5. A PRAYER To CANCEL Evil Plans Of The Enemy! • PRAYERS AGAINST Evil Plans! The Bible has made it PLAIN that WE HAVE A ENEMY! Who has NOTHING good PLANNED for us. The devil is NOT going to be kind to us. He is NOT going to do good to us. He is a THIEF! JESUS CHRIST makes this KNOWN to us! Thieves do NOT have good intentions for their victims. Satan's ULTIMATE PLAN is to STEAL OUR SOULS!! BUT if he CAN STEAL OUR Joys, OUR Hopes, OUR Peace, OUR Marriages and OUR Relationships, etc.. HE WILL!!!! God did not give you a spirit of fear, but He has given you a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Timothy ‭1:7‬ For you are not living the life of the flesh, you died in your life is now Hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). Your Body Is the Temple of the Living God, the Holy Spirit Lives in. Is No Longer You Who Lives but Christ Lives in You. (Galatians 2:20) and Greater Is He Who Is in You, Then He Who Is in the World. (1 John 4:4)Now, you are living the life of the Spirit, as a born-again believer the Holy Spirit of God really dwells within you, He directs and controls you.‭‭(Romans‬ ‭8:9‬). ‭ The Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit, assuring us that you are the child of God. (Romans‬ ‭8:16‬)‬Therefore, the best way to build up your faith is to say what God says about you in His Word.This is especially crucial for the times in which we're living. There is so much turmoil, anxiety, and pain. It is good to remember that God still sits on the throne, and God reigns and rules the earth.Furthermore, the Lord is the One who fights for you. So focus on these promises of God which he will make true in your life. Because His Word will not return to Me void, without producing any effect, useless, but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah‬ ‭55:11‬ ‬Therefore, I encourage you to listen to these verses the Holy Spirit has given to encourage you daily. They will become a shield of faith to your heart and mind, the Holy Spirit divinely persuading by testifying with your own spirit making you stronger, bolder, and more courageous in your daily walk sin, knowing that the Lord himself is with which – guiding and directing your steps, Who Never Leaves You nor Forsake You.Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven stands firm as the heavens. Psalms 89:2; Matthew 24:34, 35; I Peter 1:25 Psalms ‭119:89‬ Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm ‭119:105‬ My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Behold, God is my Helper; The LORD is with those who uphold my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil, in His faithfulness He puts an end to them.Psalms 54:4-5, Hebrews 13:5, Psalm 121:2As a Born-Again Believer you Dwell in the secret place of the Most High and remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty Whose power no foe can withstand. God is for you, who can be against you? Who can be our foe, if God is on your side? Romans 8:31You have the privilege of calling upon the Lord; the Lord will answered you and set you free and in a large place. Psalm ‭118:5‬The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? [Heb. 13:6.] The Lord is on your side and takes your part, He is among those who help you; therefore you shall see your desire established upon those who hate you. ‭ psalms118:7‬It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes. Psalm‬ ‭118:8-9‬ ‬So you take comfort and be encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me? Hebrews ‭13:6‬ The LORD is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!‭‭Psalm‬ ‭91:1-2‬ ‬For He Will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with His Wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalms ‭91:3-4‬ He comes with great power, and rescue me! He depends me with His Might. Psalms ‭54:1‬ HE SAVES ME, O God, by Your name; judge and vindicate me by Your mighty strength and power. Hear my pleading and my prayer, O God; You give ear to the words of my mouth. When strangers and insolent men are rising up against me, and violent men and ruthless ones seek and demand my life; for they do not set God before them. Selah! Psalm ‭54:1-3‬ Behold, God is my Helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in Your truth.‭‭Psalms‬ ‭54:4-5‬ ‬THE Lord is my Light and my Salvation–whom shall I fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid? His love of music was sparked at a young age when he first picked up his father's guitar. Before he knew it, an entire self-written album had emerged, the culmination of which was The Gospel Road. The 18-month recovery program assists women in reaching their personal and career goals through •Two confidential locations •Weekly emotional recovery counseling sessions •Financial management classes •Twice monthly support group sessions Why A Home? - Because Every Woman Needs a Nest She Can Protect ▪44% of Intimate partner homicide victims in VA are women who were murdered by their spouses•Abused women need to go where nobody knows their names.▪A woman leaves her abuser 7-10 times before... .???? ▪WHY Does She Return? •emotional ties •religious commitment •children •little or no income •little or no personal support •all of the above A home of supportive women in similar situations attending sessions and classes together on the Biblical principles of healthy relationships in a supportive environment. We are only aware of 1 of our 30 residents returning to her abuser. HOW LONG? - Since 2013, 34 women and 21children have called Yeshua’s House home.
