Section 1: Oklahoma Legislative Development Today, Dr. Chaps reports on a significant legislative development in Oklahoma. Authored by Sen. Nathan Dahm, R-Broken Arrow, and sponsored in the House by Rep. Kevin West, R-Moore, a bill is making its way through the legislature. This bill would allow public school districts to hire or accept volunteer faith-based chaplains to support students and staff, offering services and programs. Section 2: Victory for Teachers of Faith In Southern California, a school district has been ordered to compensate a Christian teacher, Jessica Tapia, who was dismissed for not complying with the district's transgender policies. Tapia, who taught physical education at Jurupa Valley High School, was fired for refusing to use preferred pronouns and for not allowing students to use facilities matching their gender identity. This case has been seen as a victory for teachers of faith. Section 3: Celebrating the Miracle of Life Julie Castro from NRB presents an interpretive dance film celebrating the miracle of life in the womb. This artistic expression showcases the beauty and wonder of prenatal development, highlighting the significance of life from conception. In a novel departure from their “special relationship” to classical and experimental music, Alec and Nick take up the topic of Interpretive Dance as a discursive foil to their ongoing inquiries into music. The duo give bewildered accounts of the aesthetic experience of interpretive and experimental dance performances—and ask basic questions: are music and dance the same thing? Sibling rivals? Two towers? Or, why does interpretive dance often evoke laughter, humiliation, or come across as potentially overstated and ridiculous? How would would you choose to express yourself through dance? The conversation also recounts comfortable and joyous experiences of dancing and probes critical assumptions and entrenchments within the music/dance dichotomy. The conversation touches on John Cage and Merce Cunningham, The Club, musical theater, Yvonne Rainer, Simone Forti, ethnomusicological accounts of movement and music, improvised music, ballet and classical music, music and dance's extensions into visual culture, Kim Gordon's new album, and more.

You have probably already seen one of her videos cross your social media feed - she interpretive dances her feelings, thoughts, and philosophies. She is also a filmmaker and the founder of CaveLight Productions. Her work is quasi–radical, somewhat-existential, and mostly funny. At the beginning of this episode, I share some thoughts on the importance of stewarding our dreams vs. sitting back and "going with the flow" or waiting for them to happen on their own time, how being overly flowy with our dreams can actually be a way of staying small and that maybe we have to take a more active role in making our dreams come true. Our guest in this episode, Toni Nagy caught my eye with her captivating interpretive dances which involve unique movements and spoken word work meshed together, in her dances she's expressing thoughts, working out how she's feeling about stuff, she's talking about philosophy. It's a little bit of activism even maybe.  When we get to the part of the conversation where Tony starts to talk about shadow. I was nodding so hard. I thought my earphones were gonna fall off. I love what she says about shadow. You know, there's so much talk about how to recognize and ignore the , negative limiting beliefs that are holding us back. And listen out for the part about negative self talk! She has a really interesting hot take on that and how there can actually be wisdom in some of it! WHAT WE TALK ABOUT-The magic and power of consistently showing up for yourself-Rituals for showing up for yourself and excavating more of your true creativity-Capitalism's impact on creativity-Why we work so hard to shove down one of the best parts of being human-The pressure of being beautiful or creating something beautiful and how it impacts our sense of self worth VISIT the Episode Page for more

Today's episode begins with a brief mention of the breaking news about Mike Pence that we will be covering in depth as soon as we know more! Then, we look at a couple of lawsuits and learn why Liz isn't always a fan of the OA "read the complaint backwards" method. Does she convince Andrew? Listen and find out! We break down the latest conspiracy counterclaims from One America Network News, while learning the difference between the conservative persecution complex worldview -- that Big Tech is censoring conservatism because reasons -- and the reality: that big companies are funding and propping up garbage conservative outlets like OANN. After that, we move on to arguably the Worst People in the World: anti-vaxxers. Specifically, we look at a lawsuit by RFK, Jr. and a whole bunch of weirdos against All the Media for kicking them off YouTube and Twitter. It's... something, all right. But! [00:30] European Parliament and Interpretive Dance (12 minutes)Earlier this week, European Parliament began a meeting with an unusual display of interpretive dancing. While it may seem laughable, the European Union is not a laughingstock. Serious changes are underway. [12:05] The Euro Crisis 2.0 (12 minutes)In recent months, Germany has been the only European nation to decrease its national debt, but inflation is now posing a huge threat to its economic security. Europeans are becoming increasingly worried about the imminent euro crisis, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is reluctant to rescue Europe from it. [24:05] Nazi Spirit Still Alive in Germany (18 minutes)“[I]n the midst of our society is a big anti-Semitism, and this is growing again,” said German author and journalist Niklas Frank in a 2017 interview with theTrumpet.com managing editor Brad Macdonald. [42:40] Unchecked Bill (5 minutes)Yesterday, the Biden administration presented a bill to the U.S. Senate that would provide $40 billion in financial aid to Ukraine. This amount is almost equivalent to the entire annual military spending of Australia—and no one knows what's in it. Listen to episode 172 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Emotional Intelligence & Interpretive Dance. Edited and adapted from How to Develop Your Personality by Clare Tree Major. Self-Development Podcast Excerpt: HAVE we forgotten how to feel? Life today is so external that it almost seems as though we have. However, our personal ideal will not be realized unless every part of our nature is developed, the emotional as well as the physical and mental. We must know how to feel, to feel keenly, but also to control our feelings. Are you looking at a beautiful painting? Don't merely catalogue it in your mind. Sit down before it and let it sink into your soul. See the sunset as a real thing, not as exquisite painted coloring. Go up on the hill-top with the artist. Sit with them there until the vision they saw of the opening of the heavens thrills your own feeling into responsiveness. There are some feelings that we can neither put into word nor into action, and they are sometimes the very deepest, most sacred feelings of which the soul is capable. There are unconscious depths from which our more familiar and external characteristics spring. Did you ever stand alone on the seashore and let the song of the mighty ocean fill your soul with its transcendent melody? You look out to the horizon across the roaring, foaming billows, and you know that far, far beyond your vision still rolls and tosses this great mass of living water. And your soul is thrilled with a sense of the insignificance of the trivialities of life, and some glimpse of the destiny of humanity comes to you, so that you go home conscious of a strange uplift that helps you to see above and beyond the petty annoyance of the daily grind, that helps to keep you in that perfect poise which is the essence of individuality. It is in moments like these, when all that is external is forgotten, when the inner self is bathed in the glory of its natural life, that we gain the perspective that is needed if we are to make of ourselves all we are capable of becoming.
