Jackie explores how childhood family dynamics, especially scapegoating, can affect adult behavior patterns and relationships with medical providers. She explains how people who were scapegoated as children often struggle with trusting themselves and advocating for their needs in healthcare settings. The conversation covers practical strategies for setting boundaries while staying connected, asking for help effectively, and recognizing that healing isn't about perfect responses but rather increased awareness and continued effort. Jackie and Destiny also discuss the challenges of navigating the medical system and how integrated care models can help bridge communication gaps between patients and providers.MEET DESTINY: Website / Instagram / BlueSky / YouTube / TikTokMEET GUEST: Website / Jackie's Textbook for Medical Professionals→ SIGN UP FOR DESTINY'S NEXT LIVE WORKSHOP→ READ THE BLOG FOR THIS EPISODEASK DESTINY ANYTHING→ Submit your questions hereFOR YOU, OUR PODCAST LISTENERSJOIN DESTINY'S MEMBERSHIP - for folks with chronic pain & illness→ Join Welcome To The Waiting Room (ongoing support for staying regulated while living with chronic illness - This does not replace therapy, but it's a great addition to your regular therapy appointments)FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS

It's tax time. No, we're not referring to a specific date. For your business, every day is tax time. Guests Jackie and Adam Williams are married and co-own Pennywise Tax Strategies, a firm focused on helping small businesses navigate tax codes to keep more of their hard-earned money. Jackie Williams is a CPA and veteran tax specialist, and Adam Williams is an attorney and serial entrepreneur who became frustrated with large tax bills.  Managing a business and your business taxes is more than handing over a stack of receipts to an accountant once a year. Many business owners don't know enough about the tax system and miss opportunities to maximize earnings through intentional tax strategies throughout the year. Look at the future, not the past, when you think about taxes.  Payroll, cash flow, metrics, records all matter and all fit together every day, not just at the end of the tax year. This requires a shift in your mindset. Keep more of your money, reinvest it in your business, and get more out of life.  Tax strategy is not just for billionaires, it's for you. Understand incentives baked into the tax code and how you can use tactics including the switch from sole proprietor to LLC or S Corp structures. Think this isn't for you? Occult Spectrum: Covering the multi-faceted world of the paranormal, supernatural and the occult from different perspectives. Show hosts Ges and Jackie discuss and debate a range of issues including: energy work, vampirism, ghosts and spirits, past lives, angels & demons, and more. Both come from vastly different backgrounds, and are on opposite ends of the spectrum with spiritual practice and methodology. Yet, they are able to find common ground and discuss and debate these topics, often finding that although each has a different method, they are both able to reach the same objective. But beware! The sarcasm meter for this show is frequently off the charts!
