You're listening to Dirt Sheet Radio! As the Wrestling world fawns over the storytelling in WWE's Bloodline storyline, fans are noticing some steam slipping out from under AEW's hype engine. What can the company do to course correct? No promotion is perfect but is there anything actually wrong right now? But would AEW be better off just.. making announcements without announcing that they're going to make announcements? Elimination Chamber, New Japan's Battle in the Valley, NOAH's All Together Retirement show for Mutoh. A long week of excellent pro wrestling sits firmly behind us and and DSR is here to reminisce with you. Mercedes Monè and KAIRI silenced all haters with a half hour classic. Where will Mercedes show up on her "World Tour" as IWGP Women's Champion? Jay White is officially gone from New Japan Pro Wrestling. The rumor mill says he's WWE Bound. What does Jay White's future look like in the company? Results from Friday's SmackDown and New Japan Strong are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: Impact) A title unification match headlines Impact's Sacrifice show tonight. It's Impact World Champion Rich Swann and TNA Champ Moose. The winner tonight gets BOTH belts...AND he gets AEW Champion Kenny Omega in a Title vs. Title Match at the Rebellion pay per view on April 24th. Also on tonight's show - New Japan's Juice Robinson and David Finlay challenge the Good Brothers for the Impact Tag Titles. Ace Austin goes after TJP's X-Division Championship. Deonna Purrazzo puts the Knockouts Championship on the line against ODB. Fire And Flava defend the Knockouts Tag Titles against Jordynne Grace & Jazz. Eddie Edwards vs. Brain Myers in a Hold Harmless Match. Violent By Design's Joe Doering and Deaner face James Storm and Chris Sabin. Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb With A K vs. Havok & Nevaeh. Decay vs. Reno Scum Sacrifice is an Impact Plus exclusive show. (STINGER: WWE) Last night's SmackDown set up a couple big matches for NEXT Friday. Edge will wrestle on SmackDown for the first time in ELEVEN years...next week against Jey Uso. The winner will be the special enforcer for the Universal Title match at Fastlane between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan. Also next Friday, Nia Jax will get a shot at Sasha Banks' SmackDown Women's Championship. Banks and Bianca Belair lost a tag match to Natalya and Tamina last night. Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler and Reginald were at commentary during the match. Banks eventually went after Reggie. That distracted Belair, and allowed Tamina to steal the pin with a rollup. Banks and Belair were arguing after the match. Big E returned to SmackDown. He issued an open challenge for his Intercontinental Title. Sami Zayn beat King Corbin to the ring to answer. Big E beat Zayn. After the match, Apollo Crews attacked Big E from behind. An 8-man tag ended with Montez Ford pinning one-half of the SmackDown tag champs, Robert Roode. Cesaro beat Murphy for the second straight week - this time via disqualification when Seth Rollins got involved. He hit a pair of Curb Stomps...tried a third with Cesaro's head wrapped in a steel chair - but the refs stopped Rollins. Rollins later had a brief staredown with Shinsuke Nakamura. NXT referee Tom Castor was in the ring Wednesday night for the women's title match between Io Shirai and Toni Storm. But the following day, he says he tore his biceps...and it will require surgery. Castor spent 10 months on the shelf after he suffered a gruesome broken ankle during a match in 2019. (STINGER: AEW) AEW has a lot more planned for Monday's debut episode of Dark: Elevation than the five matches announced Thursday. It's now an ELEVEN match card - including matches for Miro & Kip Sabian...Big Swole...and an 8-man tag with The Butcher & The Blade and Private Party teaming up on one side. One-Half of The Acclaimed, Anthony Bowens, responded to a report that he recently had knee surgery. Bowens tweeted “What you've seen the last 4 months was me basically wrestling on 1 leg.” He promised plenty of Acclaimed content every week while he's away from the ring. More injury news - veteran pro wrestler B-Boy announced on Twitter that he suffered a ruptured Achilles while working a match for AEW this week. (STINGER: ROH) Another title match added to Ring Of Honor's 19th Anniversary pay per view - Shane Taylor Promotions will defend the ROH 6-man Tag Titles against Bandido, Flamita and Rey Horus. (STINGER: New Japan) The Second Round of the New Japan Cup tournament rolls on this morning. Two more Second Round matches are set for Sunday's show - Will Ospreay vs. Zack Sabre Jr….and Yuji Nagata vs. SANADA. Two qualifying matches for the U.S. version of the New Japan Cup on last night's New Japan Strong - Fred Rosser beat JR Kratos...and Hikuleo beat Jordan Clearwater. A big show from Pro-Wrestling NOAH coming up on Sunday. The main event has Keiji Mutoh defending his GHC Heavyweight Championship for the first time...against Kaito Kiyomiya. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, March 13. Our next update comes your way Monday morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and be sure to subscribe to this feed. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, February 13, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. Results from Friday's SmackDown and Pro-Wrestling NOAH shows are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: Impact) FOUR title matches set for tonight at Impact Wrestling's “No Surrender” show. It's an Impact Plus exclusive. Tommy Dreamer celebrates his 50th birthday with a shot at Rich Swann's Impact World Championship. The Good Brothers defend the Impact Tag Titles in 3-way against AEW's Private Party and the team of James Storm and Chris Sabin. TJP defends the X-Division Championship against Rohit Raju. The next #1 contender for the X-Division title will be decided in the first-ever Triple Threat Revolver Match. It's basically a 3-way dance with replacements. Three men will start - when a wrestler is pinned or submitted, another will take his place. Once they're out of entrants, the final pinfall or submission will earn the victory. Simple, right? Eight men are involved - Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, Josh Alexander, Blake Christian, Ace Austin, Willie Mack, Suicide and Daivari. Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan defend the Knockouts tag titles against Havok and Neveah in a No Disqualification/Texas Tornado rules match. Also, Hernandez & Brian Myers vs. Matt Cardona & Eddie Edwards (STINGER: WWE) WWE will give us TWO matches inside the Elimination Chamber in just over a week. SmackDown set up its offering on Friday night. Six men will compete for a shot at Roman Reigns' Universal Championship later that same night. Four of them earned their spots in the Chamber on Friday's SmackDown. King Corbin and Sami Zayn beat Rey and Dominik Mysterio...and Daniel Bryan and Cesaro beat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Kevin Owens and Jey Uso will also be in the SmackDown Chamber match. Seth Rollins returned to SmackDown - entering to his old “Burn It Down” song - as wrestlers surrounded the ring. But it quickly became clear that Rollins' days as “The Messiah” are not over yet. The wrestlers all left while Rollins was speaking. Cesaro was the last to leave, but that just left him open to be attacked from behind by Rollins. An Intercontinental Title match between Big E and Shinsuke Nakamura was interrupted by Apollo Crews, who caused a disqualification. 58-year-old Keiji Mutoh is the new GHC Heavyweight Champion. He ended Go Shizaki's 400+ day reign in the main event of Pro-Wrestling NOAH's big show at Budokan Hall Friday. The undercard saw Seiki Yoshioka defeat Daisuke Harada to win the GHC junior heavyweight champion. (STINGER: New Japan) Not much time to rest for New Japan after their “New Beginning” tour. The “Castle Attack” tour kicks off Sunday with the first “Road To” show. The main event is a 10-man elimination tag between Chaos vs. Bullet Club. Big matches later on the tour: El Phantasmo and Taiji Ishimori defend the junior tag titles against Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI on February 25th. And then, the big shows on back-to-back days - February 27th...Kazuchika Okada vs. EVIL...Jay White vs. Tomohiro Ishii...AND Toru Yano defending the provisional KOPW 2021 title against Chase Owens. The following day - February 28th - has FOUR title matches - Kota Ibushi defending the Intercontinental Title against Tetsuya Naito...Hiromu Takahashi defending his junior title against El Phantasmo...Great-O-Khan challenging Hiroshi Tanahashi for the NEVER title...and Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI going after the tag titles held by the Guerrillas of Destiny. (STINGER: ROH) It was supposed to happen at Final Battle. Now, Ring Of Honor has set the date for Shane Taylor Promotions to finally get their shot at the 6-man tag titles held by Bandido, Rey Horus and Flamita. The match will air on ROH TV during the weekend of February 20th. There's new hope for lucha libre as it wrestles with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Luchablog reports...areas in and around Mexico City will upgrade their health status to “orange” starting next week. That would allow promotions in that area to resume running shows - but still without any live fans in attendance. WrestleCon will be part of the WrestleMania week festivities in Tampa. Organizers announced a scaled-down convention with numerous COVID-19 safety protocols...along with virtual options for those who are unwilling or unable to attend. GCW presenting Josh Barnett's Bloodsport 4 tonight. Chris Dickinson vs. Jeff Cobb is the main event. FILTHY Tom Lawlor and Harry Smith also on the card. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, February 13. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning - no days off this weekend - so be sure to subscribe to this feed. Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, February 11, 2021. A special welcome to those of you listening on TheWrestlingRevolution.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. Results from AEW Dynamite, MLW Fusion and Wednesday's New Japan show are straight ahead in this update but first… (STINGER: WWE) Let's get into last night's NXT - the final stop before Sunday's TakeOver: Vengeance Day show. We all knew this was a possibility when we reported on Austin Theory's Twitter video about Johnny Gargano being out of Sunday's TakeOver. Gargano showed up on last night's NXT in a wheelchair, while claiming to have a broken arm. Kushida exposed that this was all a lie. It's a miracle! Gargano's North American Title defense against Kushida is still on for TakeOver. Kushida later beat Theory via disqualification. Gargano and Theory tried to beat up Kushida after the match, but they were foiled by Dexter Lumis. The finals in both Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournaments are now set for TakeOver. It'll be MSK vs. the Grizzled Young Veterans in the men's final. Shotzi Blackheart and Ember Moon will face Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez in the women's final. NXT GM William Regal announced the winner of the women's Dusty Classic will get a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships - currently held by Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. It was a rough night for Legado del Fantasmo. Not only did Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza lose to MSK in the Dusty Classic semifinals...they were laid out backstage by Karrion Kross. Kross has a match against Santos Escobar on next week's NXT. Cameron Grimes returned to NXT...driving a Lamborghini...and making it rain in the Capital Wrestling Center. Grimes says he GOT RICH during his absence...by buying GameStop stock...and apparently cashing out before the bottom fell out. Meiko Satomura makes her NXT UK debut on today's episode. We're also getting a Street Fight - The Hunt vs. Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster. (STINGER: AEW) A big shakeup for the Inner Circle. Sammy Guervara QUIT the group on last night's Dynamite. He delivered the news to Chris Jericho in the ring. After a backstage incident earlier in the night, where Sammy caught MJF trying to blackmail him, and laid him out. The main event of last night's Dynamite was as wild as many expected. The Falls Count Anywhere match between Kenny Omega and KENTA...and Jon Moxley and Lance Archer...spilled out of the ringside area and into the Daily's Place kitchen at one point. The end saw the Good Brothers interfere and help Omega put Archer down with the One Winged Angel for the pin. KENTA hit another GO 2 Sleep on Mox, who carried the IWGP United States Championship with him to the ring. Thunder Rosa beat LEGIT Leyla Hirsch in the first match in the Women's World Championship Eliminator Tournament. AEW unveiled all the full bracket and slate of first round matches earlier in the day. First round matches from the Japan side of the bracket will be broadcast on AEW's YouTube channel on Monday starting at 7PM. Next week's Dynamite will have the first round match between Riho and Serena Deeb. Darby Allin beat Joey Janela to retain his TNT Championship. Later, Allin was shown stuffed in a body bag by Team Taz and then dragged behind their SUV. Cody Rhodes and Lee Johnson beat PRETTY Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi after Johnson pinned Avalon. That snapped Johnson's 0-29 record in AEW, and Tony Khan later tweeted that Johnosn is now officially signed with AEW. Matt Hardy and Hangman Page went to a bar, where Hardy convinced Page to sign a contract for something. Next Wednesday's Dynamite will have the Young Bucks defending their tag titles against Santana and Ortiz. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan wrapping up its “New Beginning” show this morning with a big main event - Kota Ibushi defending the double gold against Sanada. There's also some changes to Thursday's card - including Hiromu Takahashi, Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI now facing El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori and Yujiro Takahashi. Hiromu retained his junior heavyweight title against SHO in the main event of Wednesday's “New Beginning” show. After the match, El Phantasmo laid down a challenge for the junior title. But Hiromu said he won't accept unless he and BUSHI get a shot at the junior tag titles held by ELP and Ishimori. There was a wild finish to the IWGP tag title match on Wednesday's show. Taichi regained his stolen “Iron Finger Of Doom” but got disqualified when he used it against the Guerrillas Of Destiny. Pro-Wrestling NOAH is putting on one of its biggest shows in a while on Friday - returning to famed Budokan Hall for the first time in years. The main event is a battle of legendary names. Go Shiozaki - whose revival was one of 2020's biggest success stories - defending the GHC Heavyweight Championship against the 58-year-old Keiji Mutoh. The undercard has another big name, Jun Akiyama, returning to NOAH after his stint in All Japan. Lio Rush defeated Laredo Kid on Wednesday's MLW Fusion to win the AAA Cruiserweight Title. Rush already holds the MLW Middleweight Title. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Thursday, February 11. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed.
