In this episode, Katherine is joined by Kelly Sinclair, The Fairy Brand Mother. After a personal loss Kelly decided to leave her job in the city to start her own business from home. Find out how that journey evolved and how Kelly was able to contribute in the world of work while being a mom. Join the discussion on giving power to yourself. KEY TAKEAWAYS Howard Thurman, advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, once said “don’t ask what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive and go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive”. In Kelly’s case this was the acknowledgement that it was okay to put herself first with allowed her to come alive in her work and her family life. Taking a little time to slow down, we can all have so many things on the go at once and feel like we don’t have the time to deal with them while we’re moving so fast. Slowing down and hitting the breaks can give you that space you need to work in. You are the limiting factor in your business. It’s all the inner turmoil over ‘am I worth it’ or ‘can I do this’. As you grow your personal belief in yourself then that allows your ideas and your business to grow. You cannot check your personal life at the door. If you’re having problems then they will follow you into your work. Allowing yourself the time to deal with these problems isn’t selfish by taking time away from work, it’s vital to the continued development of yourself, and a developed you will achieve more. BEST MOMENTS ‘You can still get where you might want to go, it just might not be the path that you thought would get you there’ ‘Inner guidance doesn’t come with a manual’ ‘What if we all chose to do our things in a way that makes us feel alive in our life’ ‘My light shines to brighten others’ EPISODE RESOURCES https://www.facebook.com/KSComms https://www.instagram.com/ks_comms/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/kellyrsinclair/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC317HtxbHpk-_V0HC8Xqu3Q https://ks-communications.ca/ ABOUT THE GUEST Kelly Sinclair is the Fairy Brand-Mother, equipping passionate entrepreneurs with the magic wand to get clear on your message and who you serve so you can attract your dream clients and grow your business. Welcome to the final episode of Season 1 of the Female Founder Friday podcast! It has been an amazing season, where I had the privilege and honor of speaking with 18 incredible Female Founders. They each had unique experiences, insight, and golden nuggets to share which is why I wanted to dedicate this final episode to some of my biggest takeaways from these amazing women, and share it all with you! Celebrating our small wins! I even need to remind myself to pause and celebrate the wins along the way! This is why I intentionally took the month of June to pause and really celebrate the one-year anniversary of High Voltage Leadership! Reinvention. We can pivot and reinvent ourselves and our business at any point. It is NEVER too late! Denise Summers is a perfect example! She quit her corporate job and went back to school, in a class where everyone else was the same age as her kids! How inspiring! Self-Discovery. Truly embracing what makes us unique! Tracy Guillet is a self-proclaimed introvert and shared with us how she really struggled with embracing her introversion. Now she helps others embrace their introversion to see that's what makes them special! The willingness to fail. Kelly Sinclair explains that when she started, things did not go the way she had hoped. She capitalized on this by learning and proves to us all that there are always lessons to learn. Be bold, be brave, and take risks! Bet on yourself! Robin Devine shared how important it is to bet on yourself. Dig in deep and go big. She admittedly overbuilt her practice, even when everyone told her she shouldn't. But if you build it, they will come!! Work/Life blend. Susan Kandalaft is a woman who has incredible hustle and heart but the blending of work and life has proven to be challenging and I think we can all relate! The way she unpacks this is in her episode is truly incredible. Hope. Nobody embodies hope like Lindsay Recknell. She is an expert in hope and says it is really all about having a mindset of invitation. That is also what Pauline Greenidge shared, and she emphasized just really having the confidence and knowing you can get through anything. Things will sometimes get messy, chaotic – but there is magic in some of that messiness! Resilience. Every single one of the 18 women I spoke to this season is incredibly resilient! Kim Hayden shared how she created an entire resilience series where she gets to help entrepreneurs find their resilience and build resilient businesses. She really is the definition of resilient and shares how you can weather any storm! Relationships. All 18 of these incredible female founders have created and maintained remarkable relationships. Saawan and Linda of North Water are great examples! They are business partners who have an incredible relationship built on trust, connection, honesty, and hard work. They share how this affects the culture of North Water and what makes it unique and special, and how trusting your partner and your team is so important! I have had so much fun this season, talking to these amazing female founders, and would love to hear from you! What other themes did you pick up on? What discussions would you like to have in Season 2? I also wanted to take the opportunity to say that I am launching a new coaching program called the “CEO Inner Circle” for women who are looking to level up in their leadership and build an inspiring work culture. If you want to grow and scale your business while having a culture that is authentic and true to you, I promise you will NOT want to miss this! Check out the details here! Thank you for a phenomenal season and for being a part of the Female Founder Friday Podcast! It has been so inspiring to connect with all our guests – and all of you! I can't wait to be back in the Fall and bring you another incredible season! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/femalefounderfridays/message

Thank you for joining me for Episode #3 of Female Founder Fridays! My guest, Kelly Sinclair from KS Communications, is someone who I love connecting and collaborating with! Like so many Female Founders (including me!), she didn't actually intend to start her own business. Kelly changed her mind after some really challenging times in her personal life that made her rethink the way she wanted to work. She's also very open and vulnerable that she experienced some failure early on in her business, and that she learned some incredible things along the way. It's her commitment to her own "why", and how passionate she is about her business, that's driving her success today. Kelly has a really great program called Brand Message Mastery that she's created just for solopreneurs and small businesses owners that's open now for applications. So if you need help to figure out what your brand message is, you need to connect with Kelly. You can also fined Kelly on Facebook or on Instagram where she's got a ton of amazing tips and tricks for you. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation as much as we did having it. See you next Friday! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/femalefounderfridays/message
