I feel like being bad. Therefore, I am going to find a sign on the side of a building that prohibits me from hanging out and purposefully looking like I don't belong. I'll don a feather boa, sparkly, ridiculously oversized sunglasses, and a t-shirt that says FUCK CORRUPTION. I think this is what they mean by NO LOITERING. Because I've never used the word loiter once. Like, did the government pull this one from the archives of the Farmer's Almanac or something? I know they say ignorance of the law is not an excuse for breaking it, but are they trying to trick all passers-by by using a Portuguese word? Maybe I'm being profiled. Maybe dudes who appear to be up to something other than spending money are automatically categorized into the class of loiterers. Because I had no intention of loitering until you told me not to. And now that I've been offended, I'm going to loiter purposefully. This is my protest. I will stand here and not spend money until someone arrests my loitering ass. In fact, I will start a club full of people who do nothing but loiter. I will transform the word loiter into the antithesis of the word lawyer. I will run for office, and my campaign slogan will be MAKE AMERICA LOITER AGAIN. This is all about freedom, people! We only want to hang out, and they have the audacity to put up a sign that says NO LOITERING. Where the fuck are we supposed to loiter, in the woods? Right next to the sign that says NO LITTERING. This post-pandemic era of division, isolation, and detachment has hit a fever pitch, and loitering is exactly what we need to be doing, you assholes! So, I'm gonna smoke a joint to calm the nerves. Hopefully, that too falls into the classification of loitering.

This week Dr. Amy Sapola chats with Chef Ismail Samad. Ismail Samad is a native of East Cleveland, OH, a Chef, social entrepreneur, and a closed loop food systems expert. While studying environmental biology in college, and working in some of the top restaurants in Cleveland, Ismail developed a passion for the culinary arts. He opened his first cafe, Crust and Crumbs at the age of 23. After relocating to Vermont, He became deeply involved in the farm-to table movement which gave him insight into the impact of food waste, and created in him a resolve to find creative solutions to solve the problem. To this end, he founded a new restaurant concept, The Gleanery. The restaurant eliminates waste and showcases culinary artistry with high end fare, all while providing economic opportunities for local farm partners. Ismail served as Culinary Director and was pivotal in the planning, launch and early expansion of Daily Table, a nonprofit grocery stores in Roxbury and Dorchester, Massachusetts. Daily Table focuses on addressing the conflicting issues of food insecurity, nutritional health, and wasted/surplus food to provide healthy affordable meals to those in need. Ismail is also the former Director of Contract Manufacturing and Culinary Operating for Commonwealth Kitchen, a nonprofit business incubator located in Boston, MA specializing in building a new food economy grounded in racial, social, and economic justice. He is co-owner of Nubian Markets in Boston, MA, a thoughtfully curated market cafe and gathering place celebrating the African Diaspora through food. He is founder of the economic justice nonprofit organization Loiter, based in East Cleveland which owns land and Wake Robin Fermented Foods along with other social enterprises that provide equitable opportunities for the habitually excluded and build healthy sustainable food economies.

Jessica Hansell, best known by her rap nickname Coco Solid, is one of Aotearoa's most impressive artists. She's a writer, poet, musician, multimedia artist, creator of cult Maori cartoon Aroha Bridge, and has multiple screenwriting credits. Her latest project is a work of autobiographical fiction called How to Loiter in a Turf War, following three friends navigating relationships, racial tensions and rampant property development in their home of Tamaki Makaurau. Auckland's gentrification takes centre stage in the novel, a subject of personal pain for the author, who describes the transformation of the suburbs where her whanau lived for years, as like having her "world rewritten in front of her". Coco Solid will be appearing at the Auckland Writers' Festival next month.

Let's take a look at what makes the F15EX Eagle II the Ultimate Eagle: The F-15 Eagle is the embodiment of the air superiority fighter, having been in continuous service with the US Air Force for nearly 50 years. A fighter with an unprecedented 100+ to zero kill ratio, the F15 was made even better by the introduction of the two seat long range strike fighter version known as the F15E Strike Eagle. Today the F15E is the most requested asset for Middle East Combat operations - the reason? Loiter or on station time: The Strike Eagle can carry as much fuel as its empty weight. To put that in context the F15E can carry as much fuel as the total weight of a fully fueled F16! Along with this, the Strike Eagle has a Weapons System officer or WSO which acts as another brain and set of eyes in the cockpit. The WSO has various dedicated standardized roles, for example during close air support missions, the WSO exclusively uses the targeting pod, freeing up the pilot and minimizing the time to kill chain. Another example is when a Strike Eagle pilot is busy refueling, the WSO can receive and copy an interdiction message from a JTAC controller on the ground, something that would be impossible in a single pilot cockpit. The Strike Eagle also makes use of one of the best Active Electronically Scanned Array or AESA radars in service. The F15E's AN/APG-82 AESA radar represents a continuous evolution of the F15's sensor suite, providing unprecedented situational awareness, jamming capabilities, and range. The F15's large size is an asset here, allowing it to fit a much larger and more potent radar sensor package than would be possible to fit in smaller fighters. Additionally the Strike Eagle makes use of a built-in satellite radio, allowing it to communicate over the horizon to critical nodes or assets. Keep in mind everything mentioned so far has been about the existing F15E Strike Eagles, now let's get into what makes the EX version so special, and why it's a win-win for the USAF.If you enjoy this episode, subscribe to this podcast, you can find links to many podcast streaming services here:PilotPhotog Podcast (buzzsprout.com)You can check out my YouTube channel for many videos on fighter planes here:https://youtube.com/c/PilotPhotogAnd finally you can follow me on Twitter here:https://twitter.com/pilotphotogSupport the show
After our first Critical Community Conversation, Ismail sits down with Tim Lampkin of Higher Purpose Co. They reflect on the event, east cleveland, the tremendous energy that was in the room and brainstorm a myriad of things crucial to ensuring community engagement is front and center for or the Loiter Squad. They talk Reparations, wealth transfer and community driven innovations to replace racially charged models that devalue communities like East Cleveland. Ismail and Jamal begin by discussing narrative change and what that means after more negative news floods the community following an altercation at the debate between the mayor and one of his challengers. Ismail challenges the privilege of "failing fast" while Jamal discusses what shaw high school was like as an up-the-hill teen and what exactly does it mean to "peak out". Ismail reveals that he is a GED holder while Jamal cops to failing second grade and they both discuss what it was like going to school during the time of legalized Corporal punishment. I sit down with East Cleveland native and entrepreneur Ibrahim Colvin founder of Colvins Sweet Creamery. This should go without saying but growing up in EC does not mean that you want to join in on the things that destroy your family and community. Ibrahim is a true testament to that. Listen in as we hear from this humble, amazing brother on the grind as a black business owner, father, and committed advocate for the freedom of political prisoner Imam Jamil AL- Amin. Powerful stuff. On this episode, we explore the effects of the lack of youth engaged in the work needed to conquer the constant negative narrative of the city. We get into the complex conversation of the importance of different voices and leadership due to the lack of change while the familiar characters keep holding the positions of power and have done little to change the reality for the folks in the trenches of poverty. More questions are brought into the conversation around black excellence vs black capitalism and how do we create a community owned supply chain. Loiter is launching a speaker series to hold Critical Community Conversations in partnership with The East Cleveland Public Library. The negative stories keep flooding local media about how "bad" East Cleveland is while our collective internal narrative expresses the same tropes that fuel our inability to move towards progress.
Welcome to the First Episode! Jamal and Ismail tell you their respective backstories. They discuss the reintroduction of Ismail to his hometown after a 12-year hiatus. Jamal fills us in on some of the events that occurred in East Cleveland to produce what it is today., and they discuss the importance of creating our own spaces. Jamal brings the conversation home when noting the domino effect of centering your work in the community that raised you. After listening to the monthly public call with the mayor and chief of staff, Ismail and Jamal address the frustrations aired by residents. The importance of community members taking control of the neighborhoods vs waiting for an underfunded city to jump in is brought into the show after reflecting on a senator's comments about East Cleveland not being ready for development. Ismail discusses finding beauty amongst the things that define our streets as ugly. Jamal talks about the importance of acknowledging the outliers and his best art design student couldn't read. The show wraps up with a call to East Cleveland entrepreneurs to join our efforts and Jamal leaves us with some of the 48 laws by Robert Green. content: Sep 5, 2018 · podcast: Feb 16, 2019 Audio (MP3): 20180905 - He might be from Singapore Guys, don’t go south on Randall Road anywhere near Route 64 in St. Charles. It’s been raining, there’s bumper-to-bumper traffic, and your life will be put on hold. There’s also a weird cat sitting on the east sidewalk looking at me. I think he might be from Singapore. Or Elburn. Worst still, the 7-Eleven hung up a handmade “NO LOITERING” sign. It’s in bubble letters, too. I hate bubble lettering. 😢 --Update: okay, they’re not bubble letters. But they are square block letters. And they’re in CAPS which means they’re shouting. I’ve never even loitered at that 7-Eleven. Because have you seen their sister store on State Street in Geneva? They got multiple tables and multiple chairs and actively encourage loitering. See, this is how you win in the convenience store wars. You don’t drive people away with your shouting and block lettering and other nonsense. Also, at first I misread the sign to say, “NO LOTTERY” and then I thought, “oh, the sh!t’s gonna h!t the fan now.” People can get angry and pushy in the 7-Eleven when it comes to their lotto tickets. I've seen Aunt Loretta and what happens. #trafficnews #randallroad #cats #7eleven #diariespodcast undrtow · Sep 5, 2018 at 4:45 pm I heard there’s a coyote party there but not until later tonight. $m.wand.ajax_click=true;$m.wand.lightswitch=true; fleming · Sep 5, 2018 at 4:46 pm Or Elburn???? If you fail to plan, you plan to pail. Sayings like that communicate the reality that looking to the future is the key to our success. And while that may be the case, the future is also the very thing that fuels our present anxiety. Anxiety can either cause you live for LATER (obsess over the future) or LOITER (ignore the future and just enjoy now). The future may be the key to our earthly success, but as the writer of Ecclesiastes reflects on two future certainties that we can't escape (Our death and our descendants), he challenges our perspective on the future and how we live in the present. He shows us why putting our hope for meaning in merely securing a better future on earth makes for a terrible way to live in the present.

In spite of the terrible external hardships that Brainerd knew, he pressed on and even flourished under his tribulations that led to the kingdom.
