The gang finally sit down after a rather abrupt and extended hiatus to catch up, shoot the breeze and gush about the many games we have been playing. We give our impressions on Mouthwashing, UFO 50, Space Marine 2, Monster Hunter Wilds Beta, and The Casting of Frank Stone - while still managing to give Rob Zombie his flowers, talk about surgery stories, the origin of raw dogging, and wether or not the “Ubisoft/Bethesda/Bioware Formula” still works. Chelsea and I start a new series about the Christian revivals in American history. The controversy over the recent "Asbury revival" drove us to ask the question "What is a revival?"Using a dictionary, Scripture, and a Spurgeon quote, we come up with a working definition of a revival. Then, we dive deep into the setting of the American colonies in the 1600's and early 1700's.As church life was decaying since the first generation of pilgrims covenanted the first Congregational churches in the Massachusetts Bay colony, pastors begin to look for revival.Congregationalist churches practiced infant baptism but only granted church membership to attendees who could evidence regeneration. As the first generation's children became adults but didn't become fully covenanted members, could their children be baptized? Could they partake of the Lord's Supper? Boston pastor Richard Mather argued that the children were proper covenant members in some sense. The question remained whether to baptize children of "unregenerate" members into the third generation. In 1662, Mather collaborated on what became known as the Half-Way Covenant to revive the church with a structural and political solution. Live from the no panic zone—I'm Steve Gruber—I am America's Voice— I am a man on a mission to make this nation better—and yes I am proud to say I believe in America First— Here are three big things you need to know know right now-- ONE— A big early winter snow storm is on the way—courtesy of the Polar Vortex— And maybe its just the way things have always been—maybe winter comes and summer comes—and so forth TWO— The FBI was for all intents and purposes an extension of the Democrat Party by way of Social Media—that's what Elon Musk is exposing daily—after buying Twitter—Your government working against you— THREE— Speaking of your government working against you—the southern border remains open—1000's of ILLEGAL ALIENS continue to flood over the border every day— And I want to explain clearly—that I will always use the term Illegal Alien for those coming into this country—well, Illegally—and I will do that despite getting smeared by those on the fringe left— Why? Because that is the legal term—a term used thousands of times by the United States government—plus state and local governments too—it is the legal term for someone who came into America illegally and has no legal right to be here— I will even give you the official definition from Websters Dictionary—a noun—a foreign person who is living in a country without having official permission to live there— Fair U-S—goes a bit further in describing those that are invading our nation—thousands a day— ‘Under federal law, any non-U.S. citizen is an alien. Aliens who have entered the United States without permission, or who have violated the terms of their admission, are identified under the law as illegal aliens. That is a fact, not an issue for debate. The term "alien" means any person not a citizen or national of the United States.' I make this all clear for you today—because the new estimates are for the invasion—to become far worse—starting Wednesday when a Trump Era law—Title 42 will end—and for the past few weeks—we were told it could mean as many as 14,000 people a day— But now the numbers are even more dire—with some estimates going to almost 20,000 illegal aliens a day— The forecast is so bad—the Democrat Mayor of El Paso Texas has declared a state of emergency—because El Paso could see as many as 6,000 a day—and he says his city simply cannot handle that flood of humanity— California Governor Gavin Newsome—says if it happens it will destroy his state—Newsome is among the highest profile Democrats considering runs for President to push Joe Biden out and take the levers of power—and one of the political tools Newsome and others have is pointing to the outright failure of controlling the Mexican border— Lets be clear—right now, according to just about everyone, the United States is not controlling the southern border—the Mexican drug cartels are—and we are not doing anything about it—you should be MAD AS HELL about this—it is a threat to national security—the safety of anyone who gets mixed up in drugs because fentanyl is killing more than 200 people a day in this country—and nobody in the White House seems to give a damn— Think about how many families are being devastated—not to mention the crime—the chaos and the heartbreak— This must stop—

King David wrote the words in Psalm 63:2-4: “I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.” When you think about the word “powerful”, what comes to mind? Maybe your mind goes to a big powerful storm; for others maybe it's a large powerful animal. Others may think about a politician or a professional athlete as someone powerful. The definition in Websters Dictionary defines powerful as “having great power, prestige or influence”. This summer, we will see God's powerful work through the life of one of His powerful servants in the Old Testament books of 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel.

Call Of My Ancestors: True Stories, Wisdom, and Real Conversations about Life
Have you ever wondered why the penny was deemed the element of less value? The definition of Native American was: Negro, Nigger, Copper Colored, Bronze, people of the land according to Websters Dictionary before it was a revised over and over. I didn't realize this as a youth, but something never sat right with it because it was the same color as my skin. I knew that I had to have a bunch of pennies in order to gain the same status as the silver coins which only required a few coins because the value was so much more. I was also very confused about the presidents on the coins and that if Abraham Lincoln so called freed black people, then was this the reason his face was on the coin with the least value? I was as young as 7 or 8 at the time when making this observation. Imagine how many other children see this disparity? I want to bring to light the value of copper and how it is a powerful conduit that is needed for human civilization. I personally where copper and have heard different people that they have found an old penny. Pennies are often found in the ground and buried along many old items. Is it any wonder that the copper has been used to help communicate information from the physical to the spiritual world? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hair-and-skin-alchemy/message
This is episode #7 of a 20 episode series on raising confident children and the characteristics + habits confident children embody. What is empathy anyways? Empathy according to Websters Dictionary is “the ability to understand and share the feelings of another.” Why is empathy so important in the parent child relationship? Empathy builds connection and where there is connection their confidence in the relationship and in the child. Why? Because they know that whatever they go through, they are not alone! In this episode we will take a closer look at what empathy truly is and how you can empathize with your child ultimately creating an environment for their confidence to grow.

On this episode of The Alliance Activity podcast, Andy Albright comes to you live from his home in Treasure Island, Fla. to talk about the importance of edification. The word used for Edification in the New Testament is Oikodomé, which translates literally as "the building of a house." The word appears in the King James Bible about 20 times where later translations shorten the phrase to mean "building up." The Webster's Dictionary definition of edify is "to instruct (educate) and improve (enlighten) another's capacity and perspective." According to Vine's Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament words, edify means "spiritual growth (understanding) and development (encouraging) of character." Instruct/Growth: Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance (support) of his friend." Improve/Development: Hebrews 3:13, "But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Edification formula: Instruct + Improve = Edification Instruct through education to create growth through understanding in order to impact another's capacity (to know the possible). Improve through enlightenment to create development through encouraging in order to impact another's perspective (to see the possible). Edification (building up) Tough-love edification: Edification occurs when the potential in me reaches out to connect to the potential in you. However, edification is not always warm, fuzzy and comfortable feelings of encouragement. For example: This development of another happens when a veteran agent kindly, but toughly, tells you that you are wrong or mistaken. But first, that rookie agents need to be vulnerable (allows yourself to be exposed) and correctable (not needing to be right). Proverbs 27:6, "Wounds from a friend are better than many kisses from an enemy." Through fellowship we can cover each others' back, sharing our expectations and disappointments of each others' effort to honor this community with work. Maturity Requires Edification: For some, this ability to be vulnerable and correctable (or what we call leaning in) will not be easy. It will require a form of maturity that only occurs after a growth of understanding of the bigger picture takes place. Being teachable (tell me why) must be the prerequisite to being developed (tell me how). Remember: Beat them to the why if possible (anticipate). 2 types of edification based on one's identity: Edification of activity/results (work) + Action-driven identity = Initiative Edification of values/behaviors (integrity) + motive-driven identity = initiative Build up the reward of tomorrow because of their commitment (8 Steps) to the present. These people need something to do to find meaning in what they accomplish "I will (Drive) therefore I can (Confidence)." Build up the chance of tomorrow due to their cause (8 values) of today. These people need some- thing to be to find purpose in why they take action. I can (Confidence) therefore I will (Drive)." www.AndyAlbright.com @AndySAlbright www.NAALeads.com @NationalAgentsAlliance @NAALeadsTheWay #TheAlliance #DoTheDo #N247RU

Original Broadcast: September 2010 Monthly Theme: Ninth Commandment But godliness with contentment is great gain. (1 Timothy 6:6) Contentment The commandments on coveting rest securely on the idea of contentment. Contentment is "a resting or satisfaction of mind without disquiet" (Webster's Dictionary). Being content, being satisfied with our position in life, is the greatest gain we can have. The happiest people in this world may not have the greatest clothes, the greatest car, the greatest house. But they are content with what they have. They are satisfied with their life, their work and their relationships. Are you one of them? If not, can you be? Absolutely. From talking shrubbery to people coming back to life, there are many stories in the scriptures that break the natural laws of how we believe the world works. These occurrences are often referred to as "miracles", which Webster's Dictionary defines as "a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.” In the very definition of the word "miracle" is the idea that God must be the explanation for the unexplainable. This Sunday, as we continue to explore the Bible, we'll talk about these miracles and wonder...does the Bible tell me so when it comes to what is possible or even probable? For many people, the miracle stories in the Bible are a reason they can’t take the book seriously. For others, theses stories require a faith that they find hopeful. And, still for others, they feel the need to treat miracles with an "apologetic reading" - one that seeks to explain what seems irrational using rational means. Those who use this method suggest things such as, "Of course it looked like Moses created a sea of blood. That’s the time of year that a certain kind of red algae would have appeared killing fish and causing the Egyptians to tremble." These are only three different ways of looking at the stories of miraculous events in scripture, and there are so many more ways of placing miracles within our own way of looking at the world. This week, Pastor Sarah uses the story of a healed leper in Mark to explore why the idea that everything is a miracle may be the only way to take the Bible seriously if not literally.
Erin dives a bit deeper into her past. She shares about the day she became a Mrs. and the funny and awkward quirks that made the day memorable. Erin opens up about not wanting to change her last name and trying to coerce Destiny to change his, or Webster's Dictionary to change the meaning of the word. Erin's mom almost disowns her over her taste in wedding favors. But as Erin points out, the favors outlasted the marriage.

Webster's Dictionary defines forgiveness as: "To cease to feel resentment against on account of a wrong committed." Resentment is the continuation of anger. When we think of some harm that was done to us and we dwell on it, causes us to get angry again. In this way resentment keeps the pain with us. It is like someone stabbing us once, and then we keep reopening the wound. Forgiving means putting down that burden of anger and resentment for ourselves. Ultimately it is an inner process of freeing ourselves. It does not change the fact that the harm was terrible. It doesn’t make what they did less wrong. It also doesn’t mean we stop working to right an injustice that at first enrages us. How do we resolve this continuing anger? Primarily, we decide to free ourselves from the burden of resentment (the continuum of anger) for the benefit of ourselves. We observe to discover if it harms us or keeps us from healing. We can not force ourselves to forgive. It will happen when you’re ready, or it may never happen. Please don’t judge yourself for an inability to forgive; it’s OK if you can’t. We can begin the practice of forgiveness by forgiving ourselves and (in our imagination) asking others to forgive us for harm we have done. If we are really inspired, we can always ask others forgiveness in person or by email. You get bonus points for that, but you don’t have to. Asking others for forgiveness with our heart--even in our imagination--and generating real regret begins to purify the karma we created by causing that harm. There are three other variables that may help you to forgive others. These are to develop: Understanding of why they harmed us. The causes may go all the way back to their childhood or generations. Empathy. Can we consider if we have ever harmed us in a similar way or if that could be possible Compassion. Could we even wish for they to be free of the suffering and pain that causes them to inflict such harm on others? The Meditation on Forgiving Ourselves and Others Has three parts Asking others to forgive us Forgiving ourselves Forgiving others ASK OTHERS TO FORGIVE US Remember and visualize the ways you have hurt others in the past. See and feel the pain you have caused out of your own suffering. Feel your own regret. Sense that finally you can release this burden and ask for forgiveness. Picture each person and in your mind say genuinely, “Please forgive me.” FORGIVING OUR SELF Think about the people you harmed in the past. What caused you to do this; were you suffering at the time? your own precious body and life. Consider the harm you caused in the first round of the meditation, and for each say genuinely, “I forgive myself.” Next consider a few ways you have harmed yourself. Feel the pain you have carry from this and sense that you can release these burdens. Extend forgiveness for each of them, one by one. Repeat to yourself: I forgive myself, I forgive myself.” FORGIVING THOSE WHO HAVE HARMED YOU: Let yourself picture and remember the ways you have been harmed that you have not completely forgiven. Feel the pain you have carried from this and sense that you can release this burden of resentment by extending forgiveness when your heart is ready. To the extent that you are ready, offer them forgiveness. You can imagine them in from on you and say, “I forgive you.” Forgiveness cannot be forced. It will happen when you are ready. As, with a stick, a cowherd drives Cows to pasture, So aging and death drive The lives of beings. (135) Even while doing evil, Fools are ignorant of it. Like someone burned by fire, Those lacking wisdom are scorched by their own deeds. (136) Whoever uses violence to harm The nonviolent and innocent Quickly goes to one of ten conditions: Intense pain or great loss, Bodily injury or insanity, Serious illness or vicious slander, Oppression from rulers or the loss of relatives, Houses consumed by fire or wealth destroyed. Hey Everybody! I’m fighting a bit of a cold but I think we’re going to get through this. My commitment to you is to publish at least one episode per week and so far I’m on track. This will be the 6th episode in 6 weeks. So let’s do this!Have you ever had a mentor? Have you ever needed at mentor? Particularly as an adult. Someone you looked up to who you could turn to to help you make decisions or teach you something you were trying to learn? For some people it might be their dad or mom or a teacher or a sports coach. What is a mentor? Webster's Dictionary defines Mentor as an experienced and trusted adviser. Synonyms - adviser, guide, confidant, confidante, counselor, consultant, therapist.Thinking back to my college days that was the first time I ever had someone I would call a mentor. His name was Jim and he was my big brother in our Fraternity, Sigma Chi. I joined Sigma Chi back in the early 1980 at Cal State University Long Beach. At the time I really didn’t know anyone at school except my roommate. It was time to meet new people and build some lasting friendships. They had something called Rush Week where you could go from fraternity house to fraternity house to meet the men and get a feeling for each one on campus. Most of the Rush Week Events were parties and there were lots of coeds there as well. At least that’s how I remembered it.As you go through the week you’re supposed to narrow down your choices on the fraternity you want to join based on whatever criteria you decide but you also hope that the one you want picks you as well. Sigma Chi was always my first choice. Ultimately I received a bid from Sigma Chi and I couldn’t have been happier. Each pledge class has a trainer who takes you through the process of working as a team, learning about the fraternity and becoming a contributing Active member. Back then there was some physical stress involved but I wouldn’t call the hazing life threatening. Our pledge trainer really looked out for us and our safety. He understood the purpose. In the beginning each pledge is assigned a Big Brother who coaches him individually through the process based on his, the big brother’s, experience. He’s there to answer questions and make sure you’re making progress to become a contributing member of the fraternity. Jim was my Big Brother and he became a mentor to me and a close friend throughout college and for some time after. I really trusted him which is a huge deal in a mentor / mentee relationship. You may know the saying, “when the student is ready, the teacher appears.” He was the perfect Mentor for me at that time in my life. For about the last ten years, each time I have been in a position where I needed help and guidance the right person has appeared. I just had to be willing and open to it. But that wasn’t always the case. There was a long period of time from after college until about 10 years ago where I guess I really felt like I didn’t need a mentor. At least I wasn’t actively seeking one out. Which is strange because I knew the value of those relationships. Have you ever felt that way? Like you had it all figured out? I was going through life, raising our daughters Molly & Riley with my first wife, working and doing the family thing. We were having fun, not a lot of worries during that time. At least that’s what I thought while I was going through it. We were more of a team during many of those early years. But at some point something had begun to change in me. I became less of a team player. This was the tipping point in my life. I was having the most financial success in my life. I was traveling all the time for business. Life was really good, or so I thought. In retrospect I had really become incredibly selfish and my ego got the best of me. I sometimes joke that “I’m not much but I’m all I think about” but it's true! I started to believe that my success was because of me and I was responsible. Around 2008 - 2009 when the housing market crashed. The ripple effect throughout the economy was dramatic. Many experts called it a recession. No matter what you called it, It was definitely a crisis. My business dropped about 40% over night and I panicked. I didn’t handle it well at all. I didn’t have anyone to turn to and I began to make a series of horrible decisions. Everything I tried failed. I was financially ruined and I did real damage to my family and those closest to me. .With my track record of lack of success I needed to try something different. What I was doing clearly wasn’t working. I needed to find people who could be my experienced and trusted advisors. This was a humbling experience, I had to be willing to ask for help. I had learned that at this point in my life someone like me really shouldn’t make any major decisions unless I bounce it off of one of my mentors and especially my new wife Shannon who helped me so much. She practically saved my life. I had to be willing to take action based on their direction. At this point I hard really hit rock bottom. I was desperate and knew I needed help. Thankfully my first mentor was of the Spiritual kind. His name was Billy and he helped me understand that I really wasn’t in control of anything. That I needed to shift my perception from Mark centered to Other centered. He challenged me to work hard, to accept where I was and to be grateful. He always said “you know buddy, you’re not in charge of the outcome” and somehow that resonated with me. He helped me learn to put my family and other people in my life ahead of me. Even though we don’t live near each other any more we still stay in contact and I can always turn to him for help and guidance. I have had other Spiritual mentors over the last 10 years like Jim & Ben who I’ve been able to turn to for guidance. I have people who I consider business mentors who were very helpful throughout this last venture I was involved with. I have also found authors and subject matter experts who I respect and consider Mentors even though I don’t have direct access to them. They write books and have podcasts that I have learned so much from. I have also been involved in Mastermind Groups where we meet regularly and the group really becomes a mentor to help work through various challenges. Mastermind groups could be an entire podcast episode. Stay tuned...Over the last 10 years things haven’t always gone perfectly. I have made decisions even with good counsel and mentors and good intentions that didn’t end so well. At one point after one of these decisions my daughter Molly said to me “You always come to us and say, this is what I’ve decided is best for everyone in the family”. “What makes you think you know better than I do what’s best for me? What’s best for our family?” Ouch! But it was true! I didn’t know and I didn’t ask them what they thought. My wife used to say, at what point were you going to include me in the decision process? And this could be just picking a restaurant!Recently a business I had been working on with some partners for more than 5 years came to an end. I talked to some of my mentors about it. I had to examine my part in it. Was it something that I wanted to happen more than the partners did? Or was I relying on someone else to create success for me rather than charting my own course?I can’t go back in time and change any decision I’ve made, actions I’ve taken or the results of those decisions and actions. I can only learn from the experience and move forward. I can and also turn to my mentors to help me learn from the experience. I have also learned that I’m never to old or experienced to benefit from working with a mentor. Someone will always know more than I do and can help me in the direction of my life. It may sound like most of these examples had difficult outcomes, but that’s where the growth comes from. There have been plenty of positive results from working with the mentors in my life. What about you? Do you have a mentor or mentors you can turn to? What kind of value have you received from your mentors? Have they changed over time? Where did you find them?If this episode has you thinking that you could benefit from having a mentor. We're talking about love today -- wouldn't ya know -- and the relation of divine love to romantic love. It's a familiar, but one that remains very fresh, at least as long as human memory and human loss remain conscious. Here is the key line, from a kind of monologue that occurs towards the end of "Revenge of the Creature" (1955), a sequel that's even better than the original. The young female scientist, played by Lori Nelson, says to her junior-professor colleague, played by John Agar, who is much enamored of her: "I looked up the definition of love in Webster's Dictionary, and this is what Mr. Webster says: 'Love is a feeling of strong personal attachment induced by sympathetic understanding'." That's a prime statement and I wonder if you identify. Does it nail down one's one-to-one attachments? Does it nail the relation we seek with God? In both cases I think it does. It distills the divine as well as the human. With the account of a recent conversation I had with someone who plunged me back into the waters of Lake Waban after 47 years, and also a citation from Rose Hobart/Rachel Crothers, I try to apply the Gospel to the really hidden things, the hidden crevasses of dis-remembered glaciality within us, the things we think that no one else will ever know. The cast concludes with a brief, sharp, early example of English glam rock, "Tiger Feet" by Mud. LUV U.

So today, we're going to be talking to Daniel Aldrich about resilience.

We've worked real hard to redefine what worship means today? And, in doing so, we've made it more about music or style or a feel-good experience than what it has historically meant in the past. But what does "worship" really mean?According to Webster's Dictionary (1828) worship means: "To honor with extravagant love and extreme submission. It means to declare or attribute dignity and worth. Worship is to show profound reverence and adoration."And this has nothing to do with a style of music or what I've seen in church most of my life. Which brings us to the question: Did you worship last Sunday? Did you honor your Lord with extravagant love and extreme submission? Did you boldly declare His dignity and worth among the congregation? Did you show, by your very actions, your profound reverence and adoration for the Lord last Sunday? And if you did, what was that like? And if you didn't, or if you're not sure, then keep listening. The following is a study on True Worship.

Webster's Dictionary defines Scruples as "HOLY CRAP THIS BOOK IS INSANE." The Wikipedia entry for "trashy book" says "Scruples; see also: Webster's Dictionary." This legendary Judith Krantz book, suggested by Contest Winner Sarah Nolastname, tells a long, raunchy tale of incredibly rich people solving non-problems and having anatomically described sex. If you ever wondered what it would be like to live in an Eagles song for roughly 600 pages, this is the book for you. If you remember Dynasty or Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous fondly, but always wished they had more hardcore descriptions of sex acts, then this is the book for you. If you really loathe gay people and wish books never included black people, then this is the book for you. And if you like a hell of a good time, then this is definitely the episode for you! Webster's Dictionary defines the word "potential" as - capable of being, but not yet in existence. This definition alone can best describe the life-journey of Calvin Nowell. Pursuing purpose and destiny has been the path Calvin Nowell has taken for most of his life. Knowing it was there but not understanding how to manifest it was the question he asked for years. Eventually, he decided to start somewhere. On this path, there were a few obstacles that presented itself. One of the biggest hurdles Calvin has overcome was his struggle with his weight. Calvin unfortunately weighed over 450lbs. At six foot four he was displaying a 60-inch waist and a coat size of 64/66L. Although he weighed a lot physically, the emotional weight seemed to outweigh the pounds. Fear and insecurity were the driving forces behind his struggle. However, there was always an inner knowing that he wasn't going to be overweight if given the chance to record a CD. After losing over 215lbs and many layers of emotional weight, Calvin has started somewhere on the journey to share his experience with everyone. "I always felt that God told me that he would bless whatever I put my hands to, but I had the problem of not putting my hands to anything. At the core of the title cut, "Start Somewhere", co-written and produced with veteran producer Mark Heimmerman, the theme of procrastination runs throughout the song. "It is a message that I believe every person can benefit from. I have a real desire to see people lose the weight that is holding them back, whether it is physical, spiritual, or emotional. We all have an appetite out of control that is ultimately weighing us down Hebrews 12:1 says it best, "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." "One thing that I tell people is that I lost the weight from the inside out and not the outside out in." Today I am calling Joseph the quiet hero in the story. According to Websters Dictionary a hero is a person of exceptional quality who wins admiration for noble deeds, especially deeds of courage. While that is a modern day definition, I think hero today is more often applied to a deed of courage, isn't it, and whether or not they are a person of exceptional quality is really not the focus. Joseph is the whole hero package. We do not see or hear a lot about Joseph in the text, but what we see is profound.
July 11, 2013. In this examination of the arc of American history through the lens of compulsive behavior, Kendall shows how some of the nation's greatest achievements - from the Declaration of Independence to the invention of the iPhone - have roots in the disappointments and frustrations of early childhood. Starting with the obsessive natures of some of the Silicon Valley's titans, including Steve Jobs, Kendall moves on to profile seven iconic figures, such as founding father Thomas Jefferson, licentious librarian Melvil Dewey, condiment kingpin H.J. Heinz, slugger Ted Williams and cosmetics queen Estee Lauder, who was so obsessed with touching other women's faces that she transformed her compulsion into a multibillion-dollar corporation. Speaker Biography: Joshua Kendall did much of the research for his new book at the Library of Congress. He is the author of "The Man Who Made Lists," about the creation of Roget's Thesaurus, and "The Forgotten Founding Father," a biography of Noah Webster, the lexicographer responsible for Webster's Dictionary. He is also an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times, Psychology Today and BusinessWeek, among others publications. He is an associate fellow of Yale's Trumbull College. For transcript, captions, and more information, visit http://www.loc.gov/today/cyberlc/feature_wdesc.php?rec=6331

(from Webster's Dictionary): imag·i·na·tion noun i-ˌma-jə-ˈnā-shən1: the act, process, or power of forming a mental picture of something not present especially of something one has not known or experienced2: creative ability3: a creation of the mindCreative thought is a basic sense that we are born with, but grows dull as we suppress its misalignment within modern society. Stop saying silly things, stay within the lines, act like a grown up. We are molded to learn how to act based on 'more mature' peers within our age group, thus sacrificing our creative soul. I have say, when you have kids, you go one way or the other. On one hand, you can act like a 'normal' parent, with strict rules and norms that society expects, monitoring the 'fun meter'. On the other hand, one could revert to being a child, in order to gain a greater understanding. The alleged 'adult child' will begin adopting the mannerisms of their offspring, gaining a second wind of their childhood and doing such juvenile things such as making faces at the dinner table for a laugh, reading comic books and watching cartoons together, and so on.I belong to the second group.I created this mix without a preconceived idea of what it should be. Rather, I just chose a bunch of random things that I really love. Maybe there is no theme, but to me there is definitely a derived feeling. I can say with much assurance that music has kept me young. It has made my mind fresh, and open. I crave arts, and everything I hear becomes my life's soundtrack; living in and for the moment. My children soak up music and art like a sponge, and their lack of inhibitions allows me to have some of the most creative talks with them than I ever could with an 'adult'. We all seek to reminisce our past, relive our best moments, and rebuild upon our memories. Music is our landmark for everything (you know this already!). Take the music, digest it, and fit it into your daily life. Create mental images to live by, swallowing your inhibitions in favor of feeling truly alive. And don't give a damn what anyone thinks.turn on, tune in, sleep...ambient-transmission.blogspot.comfacebook.com/tonepoetmusic
