Seeing God's creation through the eyes of the created rather than the Creator will always lead to a Worshipping of the Created! 3. What the world has to offer often brings temporary pleasure and gain but will always lead to hopelessness and despair in relation to Eternal Intimacy. 4. Nearness/Intimacy with God is initiated and established by God, it is His Grace that makes it all possible. Vs 23-26 5. Nearness/Intimacy with God occurs on our end as we Fix/Focus on eyes solely on Jesus, surrender our very life to the Father and continually ABIDE in His Love and in His Word. 6. The nearness of God is MY GOOD! Shawn "Half Measures Aren’t Whole Measures" Hey Everybody, There is saying that “half measures availed us nothing.” I don’t know if that is entirely accurate, but I know from experience that half measures haven’t offered nearly enough. I know that telling half the amount of lies I used to doesn’t make me not a liar. Someone who steals less is still a thief. Drinking less doesn’t make us sober. If I want self-esteem, I must do estimable acts. And if I want a confident relationship with God, I must pray without ceasing. Let’s understand something here, we’re not trying to become perfect. We are looking to step up our moral living to a level that never needs defense. If I don’t lie, I don’t need to remember my lies. Not only that, I can feel that I am more right with God because I don’t have secrets. In spirituality we take it to other parts of our practice. When I came to Unity I was taught that in order to thrive and prosper I had to both tithe and forgive. At first it seemed that tithing was going to be the hard one to practice. It turned out that giving ten percent of my income back to where I was spiritually fed was the easy part. Money had never had a lot of value that I could understand anyway, even though I was afraid of it. Giving away that tenth to my spiritual home took away the fear I had always experienced around money. I didn’t necessarily have a lot more, but by giving it away freely rather than hoarding it to buy something special gave me new understanding that God is my Source, not money. Forgiveness turned out to be the tricky one to practice in full measure. To hand over my thoughts and judgments about both myself and others was a terrific challenge. (Often it still is.) Apparently, my thoughts and judgments have great value to me. I couldn’t afford to maintain them if I wanted to thrive and prosper. I began to learn more about the process of forgiveness. I learned most about it through prayer and witness the results of the prayers. I had so many epiphanies during my prayers on forgiveness. I learned that forgiveness isn’t something I do, but something I experience through my willingness to see differently. I’ve had many experiences now where I was no longer attached to my perceptions of the past. I had experienced forgiveness or “the giving way for” new thoughts about those events and I was set free. As I have continued to tithe and work on forgiveness, I have thrived and prospered in ways I could barely have imagined. My Good flows to and through me in ways that I expect and ways that surprise me. When I negate my practice and apply half measures, the ways seem to dry up. It’s not magic, it is consciousness. So, half measures are sorely lacking in our demonstration of a great life. Don’t settle for half, get on board with whole measures. It’s pretty easy and very simple, just pray, asking what’s next to think, say, and do to practice fully. Let’s affirm together, “The Superconscious Mind is awake in me now!” Have a Great Time, Rev. My Good, Bad & Ugly of 2019 Every year end I take inventory and view my wins and losses of the areas of life that matter most. Most real estate agents and team leaders get caught up in things that don’t really matter. Here are 3 takeaways you’ll get if you keep reading: Takeaways from what I have done well this past year and apply it to yourself Learn from the mistakes I made in 2019 and find out what you can do better Take a look at what metrics I follow in order to keep track of my year and see what you can adopt for your own business  I own 2 businesses -- a real estate team (High Performance Real Estate Advisors) and a real estate business coaching company, Real Estate B-School. In both of these businesses, the thing I’ve done real well is to build systems that give me leverage. This past year, we went even deeper on some foundational systems that these businesses run on, simplifying even more so that we can multiply in the future.  In Real Estate B-School, I’m out of sales again, we are at our highest membership ever, and we are having a bigger impact on the real estate teams we serve. No matter how well things are going, though, one major challenge is that business still takes up most of my waking thoughts. Combating that, I’ve been meditating more, praying more, and even trying EMDR therapy.  Financially, I’ve moved into a new home, taken on a mortgage because rates were favorable, and started tracking my net worth again. While your net worth isn’t the only measure of success, because it will go up and down, it is a critical part of score keeping in business..  As a Husband, I’ve been intentional with my time with Julie this year. Once a year, I take an annual honeymoon with her, every Saturday night we have a date night and continue to reconnect. At the same time, I have to keep in mind our differences and how critical at times I can be of her, when in reality, it’s a good thing she isn’t a female version of myself - I don’t think I could stand that! Recently, I’ve also been able to take more Fridays off to be present as a father to my kids. In 2019, when I’m at the tipping point of my stress, I have been prone to carrying my stress into conversations with them. Both my wife and I are working to keep me accountable and be able to work through challenges with them instead of taking the stress of my business into my relationships.  In my faith, I’ve committed to being intentional to my study of the Bible. I’ve committed to 45 minutes a day, and even though sometimes I miss days, I remain committed to this practice. In the past, I’ve done exercise, and the Bible in a Year, where you check off a box and you’re done for the day, but this is much more intentional.  I had a great year in my physical body as well. I came into the year weighing upwards of 220 lbs. I started eating clean and on April 15, I committed to a 90-day push and eventually got down to 191 lbs, which was my wedding day weight. Next year, I want to get down to my high school weight of 182. Getting exercise and a healthy amount of sleep every night (7 to 7.5 hours) has helped, but I need to be drinking more water.  For self-care, I’ve been getting deep tissue massages and spending time in salt float tanks, meditating in the mornings and traveling a lot with the kids. Sometimes, though, my business life creeps into my personal life and gets in the way of my relationships.  My emotional well being has also been a focus area of mine. Using the app ‘Five Minute Journal’ on my phone every morning, I was able to foster an attitude of gratitude. First you need to Renew your mind to God's Thoughts about you:As a born-again believer, you have been ingrafted in Christ Jesus, Your True Identity before God is: you are a New Creature Altogether, a new creation; your old previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! And all this is from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled you to Himself. Yes, He received you into favor, brought you into harmony with Himself and Provides to you All things to you Richly and Ceaselesly to Enjoy. (2 Corinthians ‭5:17-18, 1 Timothy‬ ‭6:17‬)You have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings and purposes of his heart. (1 Corinthians 2:16)You have been delivered from this present evil world. And you are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. You reside in the Kingdom of God's dear son. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is set you free from the law of sin and death.
