In this energizing episode of Transform Your Workplace, keynote speaker and author Peggy Sullivan delivers a much-needed wake-up call for today's overwhelmed professionals. Sharing insights from her book Beyond Busyness: How to Achieve More by Doing Less, Peggy explores the hidden costs of glorifying busyness. Through heartfelt stories, she challenges leaders to rethink their priorities and model healthier, more intentional work habits. If you're a leader who feels stretched too thin, this episode is your invitation to lead differently — listen in and discover how doing less can help you and your team achieve more. TAKEAWAYS Busyness is often mistaken for productivity but usually leads to poor quality, low energy, and burnout. Time poverty—lacking time for what matters—is a widespread challenge among professionals. Overstuffed schedules and constant multitasking reduce effectiveness and increase mistakes. Email and communication overload are major distractions that hinder meaningful work. Chronic busyness contributes to loneliness, disengagement, and health issues. Leaders who model intentional time management set a healthier tone for their teams. Eliminating low-value tasks is essential to creating space for high-impact work. Happiness is found in everyday micro-moments, not in achieving big milestones. A QUICK GLIMPSE INTO OUR PODCAST

Disappointing loss but not terribly detrimental. Audio of Dennis Gates following the loss says it's on him. Tiger and Billiken fans are warring in the text inbox. Which local college fanbase is the heftiest? Jackson faded Mardi Gras this year. (49:38-1:03:58) Audio of Nolan Arenado talking about himself and the young players taking that step forward and the NL Central being wide open. Is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice bad or would it work better as a tv show on Netflix rather than an overstuffed film? The long awaited sequel to Beetlejuice is out now and as massive fans of the original we went in conflicted. Would this legacy sequel bringing back the likes of Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, and Tim Burton fulfill the promise of the original or would it just be another Nostalgia cash grab? Truth be told, its a bit of both. We Want Your Feedback Help us shape the future of our podcast by sharing your valuable feedback! We tried. We tried our best to find some small piece of enjoyment in Dennis Dugan's bafflingly misguided I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY, a film about two straight firefighters (played by Adam Sandler & Kevin James) who decide to get married in order to deal with some uncomfortable pension-related paperwork. Overstuffed with pitiful racist, sexist and homophobic stereotypes, it's - even worse - completely unfunny, and has a horribly confused message at its core. Yeesh. Anyway, we get angry about that, but there's also plenty of chat about the ongoing writer/actor strike, and - of course - all the latest Steve Buscemi news. CHECK IT OUT, JERKS. Gulmohar, the new Disney+ Hotstar family drama, is to Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding what Kaante was to Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs—a knockoff that doesn't really understand what made the original work in the first place. Overstuffed with characters and subplots, the film wastes talented performers such as Sharmila Tagore and Manoj Bajpayee on poorly written melodrama. We discuss the film's convoluted plotting, the performances of its ensemble cast, and wonder if it would've been any better if it had stuck to the tone of its engaging opening scene. — Hosted by Akhil Arora and Rohan Naahar, The Long Take is fully bootstrapped. Today's lovely guest is English designer Emma Sims-Hilditch. Emma got her start designing sets for Ridley Scott before opening her own firm, Sims Hilditch, in 2009. Her work has been featured in Vogue, House & Garden, The Telegraph, and many other publications. We discuss Emma's new book The Evolution of Home: English Interiors for a New Era and her tips for decorating the English way. What You'll Hear on This Episode: What has been the evolution of Emma's design style through childhood, travels, and beyond? How does Emma find balance between rustic and clean, modern styles? Why does Emma paint her house twice a year? Why light plays such an important role in color and hue choices. Why is storage in the bedroom priority #1 for Emma? Emma encourages people not to always get hung up on symmetry and matching; nature is the perfect example of this. The case for brown furniture! What Emma likes to consider for home office spaces. How did working in set design influence Emma's design style? What does Emma recommend for adding European design elements into a space? What are ways to add charm to your room even after decorating? Overstuffed upholstery and pillows are English staples that are fun to play with. What does Emma consider the ideal kitchen layout? Decorating Dilemma: Hi Jackie, This is a lovely kitchen with fantastic bones and storage. I personally wouldn't change the white cabinets because I think it's much easier to paint a wall. If you don't like it, it's also much easier to repaint. I would personally do a soft gray like Mizzle by Farrow & Ball. You could also go darker like a blue-gray. A white kitchen is a great starting point and I love the black contrast. I notice the countertops are polished vs. honed; I would recommend getting a quote to see how much it is to get them honed. It's an easy process that gives a much softer edge and makes a huge difference. I would also recommend some pendant lights over the bar if it's not too difficult to add them now. You could use fabric-colored shades or even play with patterns. If it's practical, upholstered bar stools are another fun way to bring color in. I would also even look at the curtain; the soft white curtain could be swapped for something with more texture or pattern that's more structured and less floaty. I would base it on what you choose for the pendant and barstools. You could also try a coordinating Roman shade above the window as well; whether it's decorative or functional it will often up that space. I would not wallpaper the backsplash as cooking can be damaging to wallpaper. If you really want to wallpaper somewhere or even if the room carries on around the corner, you could paper one wall. I would pick out a pattern that's complimentary to the paint color you choose from the kitchen. We all think drawing more attention to the island will be your best bet. With that in mind, you could also paint the island 2 shades darker than whatever you choose for the wall. We don't think the dog crate is permanent, but if you want you could put a rug under it for now! The kitchen looks wonderful as is and just needs some finishing touches–you're almost there! Good luck and please send us some pictures! All of humanity's feats, whether a record-setting deadlift by the world's strongest man or the construction of a gleaming city by a technologically advanced economy, originate from a single hidden source: positive net energy. Having surplus energy in the form of thirteen pounds of food per day enables a very big man, Hafthor Bjornsson, to lift very big objects. Similarly, having surplus energy in the form of fossil fuel enables very big societies to build and trade very big piles of stuff. Maybe Hafthor has a rock-solid plan for keeping his dinner plate well stocked, but no society seems ready to have a mature conversation about how our sprawling cities and nations will manage as net energy declines. Calling our conversation "mature" might be a stretch, but at least we're willing to address climate change, sustainability, and the rest of the net energy conundrum head on. Alice Friedemann, author of Life after Fossil Fuels, joins the conversation.Support the show (https://www.postcarbon.org/supportcrazytown/)

In the final installment of Catching Up On Cinema's Video Game Movie Month, Kyle and Trevor once again invite Kyle's brother Nik to assist them in reviewing John R. Leonetti's, Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997)! Featuring Robin Shou and Talisa Soto as the only 2 returning cast members from the first film, MK Annihilation is a lackluster sequel that utterly fails to measure up to the charm and visual flair of the original. Overstuffed with lazy and inaccurate renditions of the franchises' core characters, the film is perhaps most noteworthy for it's meme worthy, cringe inducing dialogue, and absolutely horrendous (and overutilized) CGI character animation. Good for a laugh with friends, the film is otherwise without value outside of serving as an early showcase for the talents of future stunt kings Ray Park and JJ Perry.

If you can imagine a weathered Napoleon Dynamite, directed by Tim & Eric, and slathered in tasteless John Waters-style shock, you might be close to how The Greasy Strangler (2016) comes across. Overstuffed with unappetizing food, designedly grotesque nudity, and rake-in-the-face repetition comedy, this movie made Matt retroactively nauseous over a meal he’d eaten hours before watching it. We’re several weeks into self-isolation and the cracks are starting to show as we consider the merits of censorship, Lou Reed’s take on Police Academy, and Fairuza Balk’s drama bomb this week on Ex Rated Movies!

Writer J.J. Abrams (Gone Fishin’), who also directed this film, returns to close out the mega-opus Skywalker saga with Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Coming off the stinkbomb of The Last Jedi, Abrams had quite a hole to dig out of. Rather than claw his way towards the light, the filmmakers plumbed new depths. A posthumous turn from Carrie Fisher (It’s Christmas, Carol!) lends this whole affair a creepy vibe from which it never recovers. Overstuffed with fan service and an attempt to wrap up all the loose threads in the saga and to ret-con the most dumb portions of Rian Johnson’s (The Last Jedi) The Last Jedi, this bloated, exposition-heavy film splits the uprights by pleasing nearly no one. It has made a billion dollars already because this is the world in which we live.

Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. After the original film was a huge hit on home video, a sequel came out on the silver screen a mere two years later. Villains Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) and Mini-Me (Verne Troyer) go back in time to steal Austin Powers' (Mike Myers) mojo in 1969. Along the way, Austin meets up with Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham) and battles the gluttunous Fat Bastard (Mike Myers). Less clever than the first film, this one has more of a loosey goosey feel to it. There are a lot of funny ribald jokes here, but what's missing is the satire on 1960s sexual mores. Overstuffed and tired all at once, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me lacks the vigor and surprise of the original. Mat felt the new Amy Schumer comedy I Feel Pretty takes its premise way too seriously going for soppy speeches instead of loud laughs. Thrasher enjoys the 24-hour horror film marathon on Shudder hosted by Joe Bob Briggs. He found the early David Cronenberg film Rabid to be a fun discovery in particular. In this episode, Shana and Daniel do a whirlwind discussion of the last four episodes of Series 9, focusing on the death and resurrection of Clara (spoiler alert!) and Moffat's treatment of grief. Also the return of Ashildr, authoritarianism and collateral damage, and deterministic systems. Main Topic: Sleep No More, Face the Raven, Heaven Sent, and Hell Bent. Sheep Go to Heaven. Completely irrelevant. Gatiss and whimsy. Bethany Black. Not puzzleboxy. Nancy Kress. Found footage. "That's not how subduction zones work." Face the Raven. The Doctor and young black men. Harry Potter. Non-queer Me. Sexual dimorphism. The weight of Clara's death. A response to Journey's End. Moffat proving his feminist bonafides. Leaving the show. Refugees and the Men in Black. Restructuring. The wall of diamond. Leaving Heaven Sent exactly as he came in. The Perfect Companion. A brief digression on fan response to Clara's tits. Authoritarian Me. "Jenna Oswald." The longest time between beginning and end of an episode ever. Overkill. Groundhog Day. Doctor/Me equivalence. Sisyphus without existentialism. "Story on rails." Secret Honor. Philip Glass. Grief porn and torture porn. Poker chips. Doctor Who as a Western. Fanboy Daniel. Dropping social meaning for the personal. Clara versus Amy. Clara versus Charlie. The Hybrid and MacGuffin. Me as a representation of human history. Shana hasn't seen Brain of Morbius. Gender among Time Lords. The Doctor shoots a guy in the face. Clara vs. Tasha Yar. Overstuffed but undercooked. While many of us are preparing for Thanksgiving, 48.1 million Americans are living in food insecure households, including 32.8 million adults and 15.3 million children. We discussed the epidemic of food insecurity and how it is causing obesity, as well as what needs to be done to help those living in food insecure communities, with Joel Berg, Executive Director of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger and the author of “All You Can Eat: How Hungry Is America?”
Daniel and Shana take a break from Classic Who to discuss the Tenth Doctor story "The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky," in particular the way that it plays on Third Doctor tropes and the relationship the Doctor has with his two companions, Martha and Donna. In Part Two they discuss "The Stones of Venice" from Big Finish, which has a surprisingly literary bent. Main Topic: The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky. Bonus: Big Finish "The Stones of Venice." Daniel forgets an episode title. Shana sings like on Bob's Burgers. Some love for Helen Raynor and the writing of women, by women. Divisive RTD/Gardner. A sexist Shana moment. Martha's totally over the Doctor. Donna's relationship with the Doctor's other companions. Shana *loves* Ten. A sexiness that has nothing to do with the way he looks. Why we say "RTD/Gardner". "The hot guy in the jeep." Shana doesn't do titles at all. A Tom Baker moment. Third Doctor tropes in "Sontaran Strategem/Poison Sky." RTD/G-era nostalgia. Criticism of Russell T. Davies. Overstuffed. A little too fanboy/self-congratulatory. What is the American Doctor Who? Contemporary companions. Sontar-ha! These Sontarans versus Strax. These Sontarans versus Linx. Luke Rattigan. Fascist boy geniuses. A staggering work of heartbreaking genius. Ten's empathy. Small men potato warrior complex. Probic vent erotica. Strax. Colonel Mace as the Brig replacement. Kate Stewart reforming UNIT. The obvious metaphor. RTD/G era and contemporary social issues. Next week: a live commentary on "Robot." Moving on to the Stones of Venice. A really quite dodgy cult. Literary allusions. Reading from Wikipedia. Never read the reviews. Amphibious uprising. Fairy tales. Gay geeks yay! Poor What's-His-Name. At least it's better than Vampires of Venice. Audio production. Charlie's secrets. Formenting revolution. The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky: 0:00 to 49:15 The Stones of Venice: 49:15 to 1:09:53 Find Our Stuff! Find us on iTunes! Or Facebook! Stuffed with turkey and gratitude, Ben and Courtney stick a fork into the 2014 season by looking back at the Davis Cup final and the rest of this improbable season. Was the Swiss win more about Swiss excellence or French failure? Who had the better year, Stan or Roger? And does Mirkagate somehow shed light on the shadowiest parts of the sport? Also, we discuss the recent coaching changes made by Simona Halep and Genie Bouchard on the heels of breakout seasons. We cover this all with a gravy boat of gratitude, and recount what we're thankful for in tennis and beyond. And for dessert, we rant about stuff and Courtney, for a change, curses you all with horrendous music. Winding up the discussion of the previous year of Doctor Who, Daniel and Shana discuss the 50th Anniversary special Day of the Doctor, the Christmas Special Time of the Doctor, and in addition the online special Night of the Doctor. Despite making an active intent to stay positive, much discussion of plot holes, silly family jokes, and the sexual activity of the Doctor ensue. Main Topic: The Night, Day, and Time of the Doctor. Excited about Series 8. The announcement that Jenna Coleman will be leaving the show. Trying to be more positive in this episode. Our favorites and least favorites from the main Series 7. Shana gets the numerous "...of the Doctors" confused. Daniel chooses not to make a bad pun. We are very positive on Night of the Doctor and Paul McGann. Loving the almost-companion and the worldbuilding of NotD. Narcissistic Eleven. The Sisters of Karn are a perfect example of a Classic Who reference. "Spooge-fest." Day of the Doctor is efficiently told. Harkening back to previous anniversary specials. Shana asks the perfect Daniel-puncturing question. Referencing The End of Time Part 2. The context of the end of the Time War. Shana doesn't understand the plot. Cleverness. The time travel stuff actually works here. Overstuffed with plot. Could have been a whole series. Speculating about why people like Moffat's writing. Fairy tale conflicts with slapstick. McGann's inner performance. The Eleventh Doctor is a big kid. Angry Eleven throws tantrums. Daniel doesn't think Matt Smith is the greatest actor. Shana doesn't want to be friends with Eleven. Daniel has superficial reasons to like John Hurt's Doctor. A parody of the Tenth Doctor. Jazz Fingers Ten. Zygon Ten and a shout-out to the moffat hate tag on tumblr. Why did Tennant come back for the anniversary? Talkin' about Zygons. Generic Moffat henchmen. The Tenth Doctor's relationships with women. The Doctor and the class struggle. Authoritarian Eleventh Doctor. Daniel summarizes Time of the Doctor. Turkeys and nudity. Inconsequential nudity. An interesting idea at the core of TotD. A comparison to Pertwee. When did Matt Smith decide to leave? Tasha Lem and the sexual behavior of the Doctor. Moffat needs a dominatrix. Sitcom sexuality. The collapsible plot. "It was all a dream." Clara's family. A thousand years defending Christmas. Worldbuilding fail. Consent fail. "The first face this face saw." We simply don't have an emotional connection to the Eleven/Amy relationship. An iniebriated commentary track for Time of the Doctor? Daniel ends with a quote from an interview with Matt Smith (with a bonus Christopher Eccleston quote). Daniel's Twitter Tumblr Shana's Twitter Tumblr Email us at oispacemanpodcast@gmail.com
