Potter Revisited Episode #88 Percy Weasley's Boggart AKA Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 28 "The Madness of Mr Crouch" Is this confirmation that Butterbeer is alcoholic? Winky is so sad, yet none of the House Elves besides Dobby don't seem to have any empathy for her Hermione is sent a bunch of hate mail due to Rita Skeeter's article - shouldn't there be process to check the mail students are sent? Why are adults sending a minor child (at a SCHOOL) hate with curses and dangerous substances?? It the grand scheme of things, if there was a bit of truth to Rita's article - is this amount of hate really necessary? Hermione has a real strong sense of self for a girl her age - most teens would not be able to handle this with the amount of grace as she does Hagrid seems to finally hit the sweet spot with teaching - the lesson he plans with the Nifflers is interactive, fun and not overly dangerous How the Weasley siblings deal with their financial insecurity is all very interesting Ron internalizes it The Twins are proactive and work on creating a business Percy follows in his fathers footsteps and enters the Ministry, and plans to work his way up the corporate ladder Bill and Charlie both take career paths that lead them out of the country Rita is not ready for the wrath Hermione has coming for her It is disappointing how Mrs Weasley is treating Hermione - why does she believe this article when she knows how Rita Skeeter is? Does the way Mrs Weasley treat the boys VS the girls show a character flaw? Percy sends his letter regarding Mr Crouch and he is not pleased Viktor pulls Harry aside for a private word - this would have been such a great scene for the film Why does Snape stop Harry when it is obviously an emergency? + 1 Sucks point Karkaroff does have a point from his perspective - this tournament is very suspicious Is this the first time we really see Hagrid's rage? Is it odd hearing very negative and prejudice talk from Hagrid, who is generally very open and friendly Its unfortunate the Mr Crouch plotline with pretty much cut from the films - this would have been a great dramatic scene after the comic relief of Harry and Krum's talk Seeing Mr Crouch like this would be Percy's boggart Lots of foreshadowing from Crouch Snape Sucks total for Chapter 28: 1 Email any thoughts, questions or feedback to potterrevisitedpodcast@gmail.com Music: Shelter Song by Alexander Nakarada (www.serpentsoundstudios.com) Licensed under Creative Commons BY Attribution 4.0 License https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow Us: Facebook https://www.facebook.com/potterrevisited Twitter https://twitter.com/potterevisited Instagram https://www.instagram.com/potterrevisited_/ Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4v2Xt0OIQ8_LCVYhKf2S5A TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@potterrevisited

The Potter Discussion: Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts and the Wizarding World Fandom
Send us a textIn this episode, we discuss who could have been a spy in Harry Potter. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 1:52 Professor McGonagall. She is of the utmost moral fiber in the series. You really want to have McGonagall on your side, and we are lucky that she was fighting for us. If she were a spy, it would be because she genuinely thought Voldemort's world would be for the greater good. · 8:20 Ron Weasley. This one is a bit of a curve ball, but it still fits. Ron is probably the least likely to become a spy, but that is why the reveal would be so good. During the fourth year, he and Harry go through a rough patch in their friendship. Why shouldn't Ron become friends with someone else like Draco? Through the Malfoys, Ron might be introduced to the ways of Voldemort and fall victim to his promises. It's a longshot, but anything is possible. · 13:08 Percy Weasley. Percy wasn't in the best standing with his family for a few years in the middle of the story. He was too committed to order and supporting the ministry, not to mention his own deep-rooted ambition. During that time, he might come to realize that the change that has to happen in the world must come from those who have the guts to do things others won't. That sounds something like the Death Eaters. Percy might find their ways repulsive at first, but he may come to overlook his opinions for the fight of order against chaos. · 18:29 Professor Slughorn. We are introduced to him at first because Dumbledore needs a potion professor, and we learn that the Death Eaters have been trying to either recruit him or kill him. It makes sense that Slughorn might have been approached and presented with ideas of what the world should be. Like Percy, this pathway was already drawn for us.· 23:30 Rubeus Hagrid. We couldn't have an episode about jaw-dropping spies without including Hagrid. There is a zero percent chance of him willingly becoming a spy for Voldemort. He is far too committed to the cause of good and helping Dumbledore. The only chance of him being a spy would be if Dumbledore was working with Voldemort, and they misled Hagrid to do things that he thought were for good, but really only helped Voldemort. Chapter 13 - The Muggle Born Registration CommissionBeneath the title was a picture of a red rose with a simpering face in the middle of its petals, being strangled by a green weed with fangs and a scowl. There was no author's name upon the pamphlet, but again, the scars on the back of his right hand seemed to tingle as he examined it.Q1 - How vile is this? The witch glanced toward the shining mahogany door facing the space full of pamphlet-makers; Harry looked too, and rage reared in him like a snake. Where there might have been a peephole on a Muggle front door, a large, round eye with a bright blue iris had been set into the wood — an eye that was shockingly familiar to anybody who had known Alastor Moody.Q2 - Does this make you hate Umbridge even more?“Undesirable Number One,” Harry muttered under his breath as he replaced Mr. Weasley's folder and shut the drawer. He had an idea he knew who that was, and sure enough, as he straightened up and glanced around the office for fresh hiding places, he saw a poster of himself on the wall, with the words undesirable no. 1 emblazoned across his chest.Q3 - What do you think of Harry's new nickname? The lift doors opened; the old witch with the anthill hair left, and Ron darted past her out of sight. Harry made to follow him, but found his path blocked as Percy Weasley strode into the lift, his nose buried in some papers he was reading. Not until the doors had clanged shut again did Percy realize he was in a lift with his father. He glanced up, saw Mr. Weasley, turned radish red, and left the lift the moment the doors opened again. For the second time, Harry tried to get out, but this time found his way blocked by Mr. Weasley's arm. Q4 - Do you think Percy's still evil? And as he reached the foot of the stairs and turned to his right he saw a dreadful scene. The dark passage outside the courtrooms was packed with tall, black-hooded figures, their faces completely hidden, their ragged breathing the only sound in the place. The petrified Muggle-borns brought in for questioning sat huddled and shivering on hard wooden benches. Most of them were hiding their faces in their hands, perhaps in an instinctive attempt to shield themselves from the dementors' greedy mouths. Some were accompanied by families, others sat alone. The dementors were gliding up and down in front of them, and the cold, and the hopelessness, and the despair of the place laid themselves upon Harry like a curse. . . . At the foot of the platform, a bright-silver, long-haired cat prowled up and down, up and down, and Harry realized that it was there to protect the prosecutors from the despair that emanated from the dementors: That was for the accused to feel, not the accusersQ5 - How is Umbridge able to cast a Patronus? She cried harder than ever. Umbridge laughed a soft girlish laugh that made Harry want to attack her. She leaned forward over the barrier, the better to observe her victim, and something gold swung forward too, and dangled over the void: the locket.Whether because the Patronus had vanished or because they sensed that their masters were no longer in control, they seemed to have abandoned restraint. Mrs. Cattermole let out a terrible scream of fear as a slimy, scabbed hand grasped her chin and forced her face back. “EXPECTO PATRONUM!” The silver stag soared from the tip of Harry's wand and leaped toward the dementors, which fell back and melted into the dark shadows again. The stag's light, more powerful and more warming than the cat's protection, filled the whole dungeon as it cantered around and around the room. Q6 - What do you think Harry and Hermione thought of for their Patronus?Q7 - Ron let's them know that the ruse was up because Harry took the eye…was he dumb to take the eye?“LET'S GO!” Harry yelled. He seized Hermione by the hand and Ron by the arm and turned on the spot. Darkness engulfed them, along with the sensation of compressing bands, but something was wrong. . . . Hermione's hand seemed to be sliding out of his grip. . . . He wondered whether he was going to suffocate; he could not breathe or see and the only solid things in the world were Ron's arm and Hermione's fingers, which were slowly slipping away. . . . And then he saw the door of number twelve, Grimmauld Place, with its serpent door knocker, but before he could draw breath, there was a scream and a flash of purple light; Hermione's hand was suddenly vicelike upon his and everything went dark again. Q8 - What happened?Chapter 14 - The Thief“As we Disapparated, Yaxley caught hold of me and I couldn't get rid of him, he was too strong, and he was still holding on when we arrived at Grimmauld Place, and then — well, I think he must have seen the door, and thought we were stopping there, so he slackened his grip and I managed to shake him off and I brought us here instead!” “But then, where's he? Hang on. . . . You don't mean he's at Grimmauld Place? He can't get in there?” Q1 - Can they return to Grimmauld Place?Q2 - Did they leave anything of importance behind?“That's as much as I can do. At the very least, we should know they're coming, I can't guarantee it will keep out Vol —” “Don't say the name!” Ron cut across her, his voice harsh. Harry and Hermione looked at each other. “I'm sorry,” Ron said, moaning a little as he raised himself to look at them, “but it feels like a — a jinx or something. Can't we call him You-Know-Who — please?” “Dumbledore said fear of a name —” began Harry. “In case you hadn't noticed, mate, calling You-Know-Who by his name didn't do Dumbledore much good in the end,” Ron snapped back. “Just — just show You-Know-Who some respect, will you?”Q3 - Has Ron gone crazy?“Can you feel it, though?” Ron asked in a hushed voice, as he held it tight in his clenched fist. “What d'you mean?” Ron passed the Horcrux to Harry. After a moment or two, Harry thought he knew what Ron meant. Was it his own blood pulsing through his veins that he could feel, or was it something beating inside the locket, like a tiny metal heart?Q4 - How are they going to open this to destroy it?The surrounding silence was broken by odd rustlings and what sounded like crackings of twigs: Harry thought that they were caused by animals rather than people, yet he kept his wand held tight at the ready. His insides, already uncomfortable due to their inadequate helping of rubbery mushrooms, tingled with unease. Q5 - Do you think someone is watching them?Nameless forebodings crept upon him as he sat there in the dark: He tried to resist them, push them away, yet they came at him relentlessly. Neither can live while the other survives. Ron and Hermione, now talking softly behind him in the tent, could walk away if they wanted to: He could not. And it seemed to Harry as he sat there trying to master his own fear and exhaustion, that the Horcrux against his chest was ticking away the time he had left. . . . Stupid idea, he told himself, don't think that. . . .Q6 - What are each of the trios biggest fear?Harry's voice was high, clear, and cold, his wand held in front of him by a long-fingered white hand. The man at whom he was pointing was suspended upside down in midair, though there were no ropes holding him; he swung there, invisibly and eerily bound, his limbs wrapped about him, his terrified face, on a level with Harry's, ruddy due to the blood that had rushed to his head. He had pure-white hair and a thick, bushy beard: a trussed-up Father Christmas. “I have it not, I have it no more! It was, many years ago, stolen from me!”Q7 - What does he want?“He read Gregorovitch's mind, and I saw this young bloke perched on a windowsill, and he fired a curse at Gregorovitch and jumped out of sight. He stole it, he stole whatever You-Know-Who's after. And I . . . I think I've seen him somewhere. . . .” Q8 - Who is the thief? What was Voldemort trying to find? Why, with the Ministry of Magic and the Wizarding world at his feet, was he far away, intent on the pursuit of an object that Gregorovitch had once owned, and which had been stolen by the unknown thief? Harry could still see the blond-haired youth's face; it was merry, wild; there was a Fred and George-ish air of triumphant trickery about him. He had soared from the windowsill like a bird, and Harry had seen him before, but he could not think where. . . . With Gregorovitch dead, it was the merry-faced thief who was in danger now, and it was on him that Harry's thoughts dwelled, as Ron's snores began to rumble from the lower bunk and as he himself drifted slowly into sleep once more. Chapter 15 - The Goblin's RevengeHarry and Hermione felt that it was best not to stay anywhere too long, and Ron agreed, with the sole proviso that their next move took them within reach of a bacon sandwich. “But you can make a brilliant Patronus!” protested Ron, when Harry arrived back at the tent empty-handed, out of breath, and mouthing the single word, dementors. “I couldn't . . . make one,” he panted, clutching the stitch in his side. “Wouldn't . . . come.” Q1 - Why wasn't Harry able to cast a Patronus?Q2 - What is the Horcrux actually doing to them?Q3 - Is it dumb to wear it everywhere?“You told us that You-Know-Who asked Dumbledore to give him a job after he left,” said Hermione. “That's right,” said Harry. “And Dumbledore thought he only wanted to come back to try and find something, probably another founder's object, to make into another Horcrux?” Q4 - Is there something in Hogwarts that's a Horcrux?Q5 - Why did Ginny and co try to steal the sword?Phineas snorted impatiently. “I believe that the last time I saw the sword of Gryffindor leave its case was when Professor Dumbledore used it to break open a ring.” Hermione whipped around to look at Harry. Neither of them dared say more in front of Phineas Nigellus, who had at last managed to locate the exit. “And Dumbledore didn't give it to me because he still needed it, he wanted to use it on the locket —” “— and he must have realized they wouldn't let you have it if he put it in his will —” “— so he made a copy —” “— and put a fake in the glass case —” “— and he left the real one — where?” They gazed at each other; Harry felt that the answer was dangling invisibly in the air above them, tantalizingly close. Why hadn't Dumbledore told him? Or had he, in fact, told Harry, but Harry had not realized it at the time? “Think!” whispered Hermione. “Think! Where would he have left it?” Q6 - Where do you think Dumbledore left the sword?“Leave the Horcrux,” Harry said. Ron wrenched the chain from over his head and cast the locket into a nearby chair. He turned to Hermione. “What are you doing?” “What do you mean?” “Are you staying, or what?” “I . . .” She looked anguished. “Yes — yes, I'm staying. Ron, we said we'd go with Harry, we said we'd help —” “I get it. You choose him.” “Ron, no — please — come back, come back!” She was impeded by her own Shield Charm; by the time she had removed it he had already stormed into the night. Harry stood quite still and silent, listening to her sobbing and calling Ron's name amongst the trees. Q7 - How surprising is it that Ron has left? Will he come back?Chapter 16 - Godric's HollowThey did not discuss Ron at all over the next few days. Harry was determined never to mention his name again, and Hermione seemed to know that it was no use forcing the issue, although sometimes at night when she thought he was sleeping, he would hear her crying. Q1 - Is Harry being too hard here?By day, they devoted themselves to trying to determine the possible locations of Gryffindor's sword, but the more they talked about the places in which Dumbledore might have hidden it, the more desperate and far-fetched their speculation became. Q2 - Where do you think the sword is?They were spending many evenings in near silence, and Hermione took to bringing out Phineas Nigellus's portrait and propping it up in a chair, as though he might fill part of the gaping hole left by Ron's departure… Indeed, Phineas Nigellus inadvertently emphasized this fact by slipping in leading questions about Harry and Hermione's whereabouts.Q3 - Is Hermione actually crazy to do this?Apparently she had not been listening to him. She leaned forward and held out The Tales of Beedle the Bard. “Look at that symbol,” she said, pointing to the top of a page. Above what Harry assumed was the title of the story (being unable to read runes, he could not be sure), there was a picture of what looked like a triangular eye, its pupil crossed with a vertical line. “I never took Ancient Runes, Hermione.” “I know that, but it isn't a rune and it's not in the syllabary, either. All along I thought it was a picture of an eye, but I don't think it is! It's been inked in, look, somebody's drawn it there, it isn't really part of the book. Think, have you ever seen it before?” “No . . . No, wait a moment.” Harry looked closer. “Isn't it the same symbol Luna's dad was wearing round his neck?” “Well, that's what I thought too!” “Then it's Grindelwald's mark.” Q4 - What does this all mean for the story? She pointed to the dark stone. Harry stooped down and saw, upon the frozen, lichen-spotted granite, the words Kendra Dumbledore and, a short way below her dates of birth and death, and Her Daughter Ariana. There was also a quotation: Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Q5 - What do you make of that quote?“Here!” cried Hermione again a few moments later from out of the darkness. “Oh no, sorry! I thought it said Potter.” She was rubbing at a crumbling, mossy stone, gazing down at it, a little frown on her face. “Harry, come back a moment.” He did not want to be sidetracked again, and only grudgingly made his way back through the snow toward her. “What?” “Look at this!” The grave was extremely old, weathered so that Harry could hardly make out the name. Hermione showed him the symbol beneath it. “Harry, that's the mark in the book!” Q6 - Is this mark different? The headstone was only two rows behind Kendra and Ariana's. It was made of white marble, just like Dumbledore's tomb, and this made it easy to read, as it seemed to shine in the dark. Harry did not need to kneel or even approach very close to it to make out the words engraved upon it. James Potter Born 27 March 1960 Died October 31 1981 Lily Potter, born January 30, 1960 Died October 31, 1981. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Q7 - Why are these words on the gravestone? But they were not living, thought Harry: They were gone. The empty words could not disguise the fact that his parents' moldering remains lay beneath snow and stone, indifferent, unknowing. And tears came before he could stop them, boiling hot then instantly freezing on his face, and what was the point in wiping them off or pretending? He let them fall, his lips pressed hard together, looking down at the thick snow hiding from his eyes the place where the last of Lily and James lay, bones now, surely, or dust, not knowing or caring that their living son stood so near, his heart still beating, alive because of their sacrifice and close to wishing, at this moment, that he was sleeping under the snow with them.

Send us a Text Message. In this episode, we discuss some of the unsung heroes of Hogwarts. Enjoy!Topics/Summary:· 2:25 The Fat Lady. We never hear from her despite having such an important tole. She is the guard of the secret common room of the Gryffindors When Sirius Black attacks the school, she doesn't let him in and sacrifices her portrait to make sure he can't make it in. The other guards of the tower didn't do the same thing.· 9:37 McGonagall. Don't get mad here because by no means is McGonagall unsung. She teaches classes and defends Hogwarts and we know it, but what she does on the back end is what is unsung. She is Dumbledore's fixer. If he wants something done on the DL, she can handle it. We don't hear about some of the biggest problems at the school for a reason…· 15:27 Percy Weasley. It is difficult for the readers to look past the fact that he is stuck up and ambitious, but the misconception here is we think that means he doesn't care. In actuality, Percy does all these things and bosses people around because he cares about what happens to his peers and values things like the rules and respect.· 21:24 Professor Grubbly Plank. She stepped in when Hagrid was unable to teach and later when he was on a mission for Dumbledore. Further, she asked no questions and filled the role without a second thought. She is fair and to the point. It is no small task to come teach at a moment's notice. · 25:10 Madame Pomfrey. She takes care of the entire castle! If Dumbledore needs a medical solution to a problem, Pomfrey is well up to the task. She can regrow bones and cure illness and do anything else the students need. Have you ever wondered why Percy Weasley's relentless ambition didn't land him a spot in Slytherin? Join Professor Wamble as he peels back the layers of one of the most polarizing characters in the Harry Potter series, probing into Percy's complex journey from rule-abiding prefect to estranged Weasley family member. Together, along with the survey responses, Professor Wamble traverses the convoluted path of Percy's choices, the Ministry's own blind spots, and a Weasley family dynamic that's both enchanting and heartbreaking. Listeners contribute their perspectives, enriching this exploration of Percy's need for recognition against the backdrop of his upbringing by Molly and Arthur Weasley. By the end of the episode, you might find yourself armed with a new understanding of Percy, and perhaps, a touch of empathy for the boy who sought to honor his family name, in a world where the rules are not always black and white.Link to Survey on Fred & George Link to Survey Mailing List

Chapter 12 - Magic is MightA large picture of a familiar, hook-nosed, black-haired man stared up at them all, beneath a headline that read: SEVERUS SNAPE CONFIRMED AS HOGWARTS HEADMASTER Q1 - What do you think of this?“Phineas Nigellus,” Hermione explained as she threw the bag onto the kitchen table with the usual sonorous, clanking crash. “Sorry?” said Ron, but Harry understood. The painted image of Phineas Nigellus Black was able to flit between his portrait in Grimmauld Place and the one that hung in the headmaster's office at Hogwarts: the circular tower-top room where Snape was no doubt sitting right now, in triumphant possession of Dumbledore's collection of delicate, silver magical instruments, the stone Pensieve, the Sorting Hat and, unless it had been moved elsewhere, the sword of Gryffindor.Q2 - Do you think Snape had ever spied on them using that before?Q3 - They are going to storm the ministry? Should they be doing this? The door opened: A laughing woman stood there. Her face fell as she looked into Harry's face: humor gone, terror replacing it. . . . “Gregorovitch?” said a high, cold voice. She shook her head: She was trying to close the door. A white hand held it steady, prevented her shutting him out. . . . “I want Gregorovitch.” “I hate it, I hate the fact that he can get inside me, that I have to watch him when he's most dangerous. But I'm going to use it.” “Dumbledore —” “Forget Dumbledore. This is my choice, nobody else's. I want to know why he's after Gregorovitch.” Q4 - Is Harry foolish to try this?Q5 - How is their plan to get into the ministry?Harry looked more closely and realized that what he had thought were decoratively carved thrones were actually mounds of carved humans: hundreds and hundreds of naked bodies, men, women, and children, all with rather stupid, ugly faces, twisted and pressed together to support the weight of the handsomely robed wizards. The golden grilles slid apart again and Hermione gasped. Four people stood before them, two of them deep in conversation: a longhaired wizard wearing magnificent robes of black and gold, and a squat, toadlike witch wearing a velvet bow in her short hair and clutching a clipboard to her chest. Q8 - What happened?

David and Kyle are back with their recap of the latest Order of the Phoenix chapter, Percy and Padfoot where we learn more about the titular characters, Percy Weasley and Sirius Black. Percy is becoming further estranged from his family, which the hosts remember during their re-read, but they spend some time discussing the key differences between the movie Sirius and the book Sirius, with the latter being not as likeable. Also, a minor character continues to be mentioned in the fifth book and the hosts clue in on what kind of impact they'll have in the plot later on.

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, I've got something very special for you- my longest ever video, and in this video we'll be discussing what happened to ONE HUNDRED - that's right, 100, different characters from Harry Potter AFTER the story had ended. After the Battle of Hogwarts and the closing of the Deathly Hallows, we barely got a glimpse at what happened in the lives of the characters we grew to love (and in some instances, hate) so much. But fortunately, thanks to extended lore, and a LOT of research on my part, I've got some answers for you guys. This is already a LONG video so I won't waste any more time, let's dive in to it. Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we'll be taking a look at the how and why of Percy Weasley's estrangement from his family. To start with, Percy was not the--easiest--wizard to get along with. He was an incredibly ambitious, somewhat pompous young man, who had great admiration for authority. Percy was also incredibly dedicated to rising above his family's modest station in life, pursuing recognition and status through powerful employment. This, of course, includes his interests in becoming a prefect, Hogwarts' Head Boy in his final year at school, and an employee at the Ministry of Magic. As the third chi*ld of Arthur and Molly Weasley, Percy was very much a middle chi*ld--younger than both Bill and Charlie, and older than Fred, George, Ron and Ginny. Despite his great ambitions in life, he was--sadly for him--somewhat forgettable amidst all the chaos and vibrancy that filled the Weasley home. And while all that sensibly may have contributed to Percy feeling a little "left out" among his fellow family members, it certainly doesn't explain why he fell out with them completely. Remember in the last chapter when Ginny tried to talk to Harry and Ron at breakfast? Then Percy came and ruined everything and she ran away? What if he didn't do that? In this episode, I attempt to answer that very question. I also have quite a few answers to share from some of YOU. After I offer up an alternate, fan fiction style series of events if Ginny DOES tell Harry and Ron what's been happening and about Tom Riddle, I spend some time thanking some really important listeners for their contributions to this podcast and quite literally, keeping it going. Zoe and Jordan And Mike behind the scene get to interview the best worst Weasley as we blame the character not the amazing Chris Rankin as we ask questions about him his character and the life as a Harry Potter actor.
Hear you soon!

Weihnachtsball in Hogwarts los!
Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Hogwarts, Ron Weasley, and his pet rat Scabbers. More specifically, we're going to be dissecting WHY Ron was able to seemingly bypass Hogwarts rules and bring a pet rat to school. Before any young witch or wizard heads off to Hogwarts, they'll need to make sure they run through their shopping list. We see this list referenced when Hagrid takes Harry to Diagon Alley for the first time."This shopping list includes all of the books and equipment you'll need for the first year of Hogwarts."A shopping list is provided to all current and prospective students of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, and outlines all of the school supplies that they will need for that year. For first years, the shopping list is sent along with their Hogwarts acceptance letter, for third years, it comes with Hogsmeade forms (a permission form required to be signed by a third year student's parent or guardian in order for that student to take part on the weekend trips to Hogsmeade Village), and for sixth years it comes with their OWL results. The shopping list was created to help give students an idea of what they need for their time at the school, including things like books, robes, cauldrons, and the topic of today's video: animals.Hogwarts students are able to choose between an owl, cat or toad to accompany them to school. This is very clearly outlined in the shopping list. But right near the very beginning of the story, Ron pops up out of nowhere with his pet rat. Ron brings Scabbers to Hogwarts with him for many years, and presumably, Percy Weasley brought Scabbers along with HIM for years before that. Why was this allowed?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Noch was? Turn to Page 403, The Yule Ball. Today's lesson is called Drama and Dancing' The chapter begins with Harry enjoying the start of the holidays, and taking time to relax. On Christmas morning, Dobby wakes him up and they exchange sock presents. Pigwidgeon returns with Sirius' response and Hermione still won't say who her date to the ball is. On the day of the Yule Ball, Harry and Ron meet with their dates, Parvati and Padma Patil. Harry and Parvati join the champions and their dates - Fleur with Ravenclaw Roger Davies, Cedric with Cho, and Krum with Hermione! The whole school seems stunned by this revelation, but nobody is bothered more than Ron. Harry navigates the dinner conversations among the judges (one of whom is now Percy Weasley, for the absent Barty Crouch) and, with Parvati's help, he also survives the first dance. The rest of the night is filled with different drama: Parvati and Padma go dance with Beauxbatons boys, Snape and Karkaroff argue, and Harry and Ron overhear Madame Maxime and Hagrid as Hagrid shares that he is half-giant. But nothing is more visceral than Ron's lightning-fast accusations against Hermione and his blow up about her going to this dance with Krum. The dramatic night portends a painful morning with Harry in the middle of his best friends fighting. Music: Pooka by Kevin MacLeod #MagicalTheory #HarryPotter #podcast #WizardPhD ✨Like the podcast?
S4 Chapter 5: Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes On this magical episode, Dr. Janina Scarlet and host Dustin McGinnis discuss how our interests and passions can lead to success, the drawback of parents using the good cop bad cop approach with their children, and how Percy Weasley’s desire for attention backfires. The post Harry Potter Therapy Podcast Season 4 Chapter 5: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes first appeared on Superhero Therapy.
Denn was hier alles reguliert werden müsste. There are so many key points and a ton of detail in this installment that truly set the foundation for where the series goes from here. A ton of fresh ideas from the author J.K. Rowling, with some new events that are exclusive to this novel, makes it one of the very best. Creepy events at the Riddle House, Harry's scar hurting, Portkeys, Veela, Leprechauns & the Quidditch World Cup are just a few of the action packed moments you'll catch in this episode, so join us here at Fact or Fantasy as we continue through one of Fantasy Fiction's top franchises! As you know, we've got another big event to organize right after the World Cup."
Today’s episode isn’t about a chapter, but a character (and some other topics of interest). Actor/Director/Producer Chris Rankin, who embodied the character of Percy Weasley in the film adaptation of the Harry Potter series, graciously joined us 19 years after the filming of Sorcerer’s Stone. We get to the nitty-gritty of how Chris got into the Harry Potter series before being cast, Percy’s potential internal motivations, whether Chris ever read fanfics, how he’d like Percy’s life after the Battle of Hogwarts to look like, what Chris thinks Percy’s career ambitions were, and current politics (of course). Patrons get exclusive interview content with Chris, including whether he has a favorite non-canon ship, what it was like having his mom teach at his high school, and whether he is his own favorite Chris, in addition to an after-interview debrief between your hosts. Bonjour! This is a bit of a short episode because it covers only one chapter: Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw. Over the course of this episode, we discuss the breakdown of Hermione’s relationship with the person whose pet gets eaten by her cat, the broomstick that damaged her relationship with her friends, a match that she may or may not have attended, a party that she left early and a book with atleast 422 pages that she had to read for a class. SUMMARYTension between Ron and Hermione reaches an all-time high, after the apparent death of Scabbers at the claws of Crookshanks. To cheer Ron up, Harry offers him a ride on the new Firebolt after Quidditch practice, the last one before the game against the Ravenclaw, and it works. The Firebolt is everything as advertised and the Gryffindor team is very excited about their chances against Ravenclaw, even Oliver Wood and Percy Weasley. They were right to be because Harry easily outflies his rival, Cho Chang, the Ravenclaw Seeker, and catches the Snitch. Harry and his friends celebrate the victory for the rest of the day and well into the night, until the party is broken up by Professor McGonagall. When Harry finally returns to his dormitory to sleep, he's not able to catch forty winks before a scream shatters the silence of the dorms. The screamer is Ron, who claims that Sirius Black had slashed open the curtain around his bed. Everybody panics, and McGonagall shows up, to find out what happened. On Ron's insistence, she asks Sir Cadogan if he let anyone into Gryffindor Tower. The knight answers yes, that the intruder had all of the passwords written on a slip of paper, which Neville Longbottom, it is soon discovered, had accidentally left in one of the corridors. And yeah, Hermione has to read 422 pages about the habits of British Muggles even though Gryffindor just won a match against Ravenclaw.NOTESWe say this a lot but we always mean it with the utmost sincerity: we’re sorry about the long gaps between episodes. Our schedules have been really packed recently and while we try to squeeze in podcast time as much as possible, clearly, it’s not as much as we were able to, last year. Every time you’re tempted to wonder whether this is going to happen or not, just know that we will let you know if we’re giving up on Mimblewimble. We’re leaving the ghosting to professionals like Moaning Myrtle and sticking to just podcasting. Prashanthini had a cold when we recorded this episode and would like to apologize for her nasal voice. Please let us know all your theories, comments, and wishes by either commenting on our website or writing to us at mimblewimblepodcast@gmail.com. We love fanart, comics and fanfiction so really, send everything our way.A nice read about Hermione Granger and the importance she places on friendship (even if it might not seem obvious right now)
Today J dives into one of the more unusual cases in the Weasley Household: Percy. From the beginning Percy seemed to kind of walk to the beat of his own drum when compared with the family. He has always been a fierce stickler for the rules but is eventually so misguided that he becomes estranged from his family. Could it be that Parnsip Wallenby was actually under the Imperious curse the whole time?! (Or at least part of it?!)
Fi and Rae discuss the careers of our heroes and whether or not they make sense to us. Featuring a noisy motorbike, Barty Crouch Jr's missed calling as a teacher, why we hate the epilogue, getting carded, and Percy Weasley is Leslie Knope. We're back and this week we're FOBBING YOU OFF WITH A BONUS EP! So me and Hannah have lives outside of the podcast (shock, I know) and unfortunately due to a combination of work trips, Draigcon, and Hannah selfishly gallivanting off on holiday, we haven’t managed to record and edit a real episode yet. BUT we thought it was the perfect time to take a little break between books and to share one of the live recordings from this weekend at Draigcon. So in today’s episode we’re going to be discussing all things Percy Weasley, joined (at 12:00) by none other than the man himself Chris Rankin! It was meant to be a super deep moral discussion of the pros and cons of Percy Weasley, but Chris was a bad influence and it unfortunately descended into discussions of slash fiction, S&M dungeons and fisting. What is it about work that is so important to American society? Why does it seem to define our worth and our sense of self? On this episode, we center on the politics of work in chapter 5, as Percy Weasley enthusiastically enters the workforce, Bill Weasley bucks conventions of personal appearance in the workforce, Mrs. Weasley takes on domestic work, and the twins show their entrepreneurial spirit.Work, or rather, the brilliance or prowess that people display is often equated to their relative worth in society. This relative worth is used against victims of crime where there is a stark power in balance (see: R. Kelly). Support the podcast and get some awesome rewards: www.patreon.com/acciopolitics. Mischief Managed Podcast: Your recommended dose of Harry Potter nonsense
Nobody's Prefect Welcome to another episode of Mischief Managed Podcast. We have a special guest, our lovely Tess returns and brought an suspiciously quiet Thom along. We chat about some new Harry Potter questions that occur to us in these autumn years. Then it's on to our Meet your Messrs question where we try to assign a genre of music to our respective Houses. Tess uses her wit, Laura is deeply angry and smart, Craig skips, Katie smashes ladies, and Kate fights for her rights. We continue (as you knew we would) to our topic of the episode: Percy Weasley. How can 'the best witch of her age' help us live more empowered lives? Isn't she, as Snape puts it, just 'an insufferable know-it all'? Yes she is. Of course she is. But Hermione is so much more than that. It is she, not Harry or Ron, who punches Draco in year 3. It is she who masterminds Dumbledore's army when Harry is a bit too consumed by rage to organise anything. By comparing Hermione to Percy Weasley, we see her in a new light, and understand the lessons she has to teach us about the necessity of rebellion to our own inner conformity that forbids us to make the courageous, soul-saving changes that we need to. Despite outward appearances QUOTE OF THE DAY ... comes from ch 8 of The Chamber of Secrets. We find out that snakeoil sales still exist in the world of Hogwarts. This quote is about the Kwikspell course that Filch the caretaker is interested in. Harry wakes in the hospital wing and is discharged by Madame Pomfrey - he heads out to find Ron and Hermione and is intercepted by Percy Weasley who is excited about the quidditch win Harry procured for the house. Harry goes to Myrtle's bathroom to find R&H working on the polyjuice potion and fills them in about Colin's petrification and Dobby's visit. The trio returns to the G common room and finds out a dueling club will be starting that night and decide to check it out. Led by Prof's Lockhart and Snape - the students are shown the disarming charm before being split into pairs to try it out. Harry and Draco are placed together. The two hit each other with non-disarming spells and are then chosen by Snape to act as demonstrators in front of everyone. After some worthless advice from Lockhart - the two boys square off and Draco produces a large snake with Lockhart fails to get rid of. The now irritated snake heads toward Justin Finch-Fletchley and Harry calls out to the snake for it to ssssstop. The snake turns and makes eye contact with Harry - and everyone else stares, too. Snape deals with the snake and Harry is quickly led from the Great Hall by Ron with everyone shocked and staring. Confused, Harry learns that he is a parselmouth and can talk to snakes - which is highly uncommon and was last known to be a trait of Salazar Slytherin himself. The next day Herbology is canceled and Harry feels that Justin deserves an explanation and wants to clear the air. So Harry heads to the library and overhears a group of Hufflepuffs discussing how Justin is hiding from Harry and believes him to be the heir of Slytherin. Harry confronts the group to explain himself but leaves them frustrated. After a brief run-in with Hagrid, Harry discovers that NHN has been petrified - along with Justin and Peeves catches Harry “in the act”. Harry is taken by McG straight to Dumby's office.
