In this episode, we're talking with Peter Webb, CEO of Nuforma. Although reliatively new to Pilates, Peter brings with him an extensive 25-year background in the HALO sector. We dive into the innovative world of Nuforma, which takes a groundbreaking approach to make Pilates more accessible to a wider audience. We'll look at how Nuforma's unique reformer units, which come equipped with monitors and self-service functionalities, are transforming traditional Pilates classes. Peter shares insights into the company's journey, including the development of the equipment and its expansion strategy. Whether you're an operator looking to introduce Nuforma to your gym floor or simply interested in the burgeoning Pilates sector, this episode is a must-listen! About the Nuforma, Webb states, "Obviously, this is a a much different type of unit than you would have versus a 'classical' reformer. It's made of steel. It's German engineered. It has the monitor, and so on. We've also added a new element-a weight plate system." Key themes discussed Nuforma launches new equipment in Pilates market. Pilates studios expanded; personalized workouts with monitors. $17,000 German-engineered reformer with gyrotonic-like features. Pilates classes on gym floors, self-service concept. Nuforma total immersion-enhancing a personalized Pilates experience. Recurring revenue model similar to razor blades. A few key takeaways: 1. Introduction of Nuforma: Peter discusses the unique aspects of Nuforma Pilates, which looks to modernize and make Pilates more accessible to a wider audience. The Nuforma reformer incorporates a monitor with pre-recorded classes and a 'sound shower' speaker system, allowing users to have individualized workouts within a group setting. 2. Expansion and Accessibility: 'Traditional Pilates' classes often face issues of limited capacity and specialized appeal. Nuforma's model allows for flexible scheduling and self-guided workouts, making Pilates more readily available and lowers the barrier to entry. 3. Pivot from Studios to Manufacturing: Although Nuforma operates five studios, the company is shifting focus to manufacturing and selling its reformers. This includes making them commercially available to gyms, hospitality sectors, and other multi-site operators, as opposed to focusing solely on expanding its studio network. 4. Franchise and Global Reach: Nuforma is exploring franchising. They have already established franchises in Australia and Saudi Arabia and are working on launching in the UK. This aligns with their mission to make Pilates a more 'mainstream' fitness activity globally. 5. Unique Equipment Features and Benefits: The Nuforma reformer is distinct from other Pilates equipment because it is designed to cater to different mobility levels and body types. It includes a weight plate system and a high-low pulley system, which are not typically found in 'classical' reformers. This makes it versatile and user-friendly, appealing to a broader audience and providing a fuller range of movement options. Click here to download transcript. Peter Webb. We can learn so much from the lives of others! That is one of the reasons the Bible contains so many accounts of real people. We can learn from their victories, be cautioned by their failures, and evaluate the result of their approach to life with God. In Hebrews, we are encouraged to “...consider the outcome of their way of life…” (13:7). We will consider the outcomes of Daniel, Ruth, and Elijah, among others. But it all starts with Father God: understanding Him is the foundation for understanding everyone else’s life story.
Welcome to episode two and three of The Good Oil, conversations with Aotearoa painters. In this episode (part one of a two part interview) I visit Sir Grahame Sydney at his home and studio in the Cambrian Valley in the Maniototo, Central Otago. In over 50yrs of practice Grahame has made a huge contribution to NZ art, receiving a knighthood in 2021 for services to art. His work is held widely in public and private collections including Te Papa, Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Taamaki, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu, Dunedin Public Art Gallery and the Ballin Collection.I know this is a bit presumptuous doing this so early in the life of this podcast, but the conversation with Grahame was a long one, with it being so entertaining and interesting I've decided to present all of it, but split it into two episodes. In this, part one, you'll hear Grahame talk about his early years and discovering Central Otago, his miserable move to London, establishing his practice, agonising over if $200 was too much to try to sell a painting for, his close proximity to so much of New Zealand contemporary art history including encounters with Derek Ball, Ralph Hotere, Jeffery Harris, Brent Wong, Colin MacCahon, Michael Smither and Peter Webb, and the bewildering experience of security not letting him into his first Auckland exhibition because he didn't have a ticket.Sir Grahame Sydney Web Page
Peter Webb. Let me introduce you to Jesus: He is the Word in the beginning, God in the flesh, full of grace and truth. He came to seek and save the lost. He embodies the kingdom of God at hand. He fulfills the Law and Prophets. In this series, we will spend two weeks studying how Jesus is portrayed in each gospel account. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John emphasize different aspects of who he is, but in all their accounts Jesus says the same thing he says to you today: “follow me.”

Jesus came, and we are invited to join him in taking a stand - a beautiful resistance. In this series, we will explore how to stand for God’s truth in a world of confusion and compromise.

Peter Webb. Often, “worship” is understood as the singing portion at the beginning of a church gathering, before announcements and the sermon. But is this half hour each week the ultimate expression of our worship to the Lord? Jesus said that the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth. As we seek to know Him and love Him more, we become who we were created to be: a people marked by closeness with the Spirit of God. www.newdaycommunity.org

Peter Webb. What’s our goal when we gather as the Body of Christ? This month, we’ll look at aspects of how to use our individual gifts and identity in the gathering of the saints. This includes some of how the Bible defines roles for men and women, as well as the use of spiritual gifts. Though this is too big a topic to fully cover in one month, we hope to help create clarity and freedom in the functioning of the gifts God has given each individual. www.newdaycommunity.org

Peter Webb. Easter is the annual reminder that through faith in Christ we have access to hope that overcomes life’s greatest challenges. In the final days of Christ’s life we see Him go from the extremes of jubilation in the triumphant entry to the depth of despair as He cried out “It is finished” on the Cross. The message of the resurrection is the message of Hope.

And we have seen His glory, the glory of the Father's one and only Son.” This series will explore the Bible, God’s Word, as the revelation of Jesus. The Bible in the life of a disciple is inseparable from our relationship with Jesus.
Ann Etter of Northfield, Minn., recommends her favorite way to relax after a hard day of work: watching a performance by Northfield-based jazz ensemble Sweet Jazz. True to their name, the four-piece (sometimes five-piece) ensemble plays jazz standards, B-side jazz tunes that might be new for listeners and originals by pianist Peter Webb. Etter loves the way the ensemble matches their set to the seasons: “You see them in the spring, and it's going to feel more peppy. You see them in the fall, and it's going to feel more crisp. It's just an immersive experience.” Sweet Jazz's next live, outdoor performance is Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Contented Cow, overlooking the Cannon River in downtown Northfield. Kasey Southwick danced ballet for years with Continental Ballet Co. in Bloomington, and now she's looking forward to relaxing in the audience for its “Beer & Ballet” performance on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Schneider Theater at the Bloomington Center for the Arts. Southwick says the one-night event is a chill atmosphere that makes for an excellent introduction for adults who are new to ballet. The evening features a mix of short dance numbers choreographed by the director and by members of the company, set to a mix of classical and contemporary music. And, yes, the ticket price includes one beer. Masks are recommended by the ballet company, which has this COVID-19 protocol: “We request that if you are not vaccinated you test negative before attending the theater in consideration for the safety of those around you.” Novelist and playwright Kathleen Anne Kenny shared about a fellow Winona artist who's written for page and stage. Margaret Shaw Johnson's pandemic project was to transform her previous play “The Haunting of Potter's Field” into an illustrated book of narrative poems by the same name. The inspiration arose from Johnson's walks through Winona's historic Woodlawn Cemetery and its potter's field, where those who could not afford a burial plot were laid to rest. Based on historical research and supplemented with imagination, the poems tell a selection of stories about those whose lives ended in Winona. There will be a book launch on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Winona History Center, including a gallery show of the book's illustrations by Twin Cities artist Jared Tuttle and a performance of some of the original music that was composed for the theatrical production.

Interview: PETER WEBB Peter Webb started his punting life as a teenage data-cruncher who came up with a formula to predict draws in football. His efforts resulted in first dividends with Littlewoods Pools and being banned by betting shops after a brace of touches in quick succession. Disillusioned, he concentrated on a career in the retail arm of computing. Things changed for him with the advent of betting exchanges where he saw opportunities for his analytical approach. He soon became a very successful trader utilising software he, with help from program writers, developed. This trading interface, originally only intended for personal use, morphed in the Bet Angel business – now a leading tool for exchange punters. Since Betfair’s launch in 2000 Peter has become one of the globe’s biggest exchange players trading huge figures over that period, activity that continues today. In this series of interviews with Simon Nott, Peter tells his story with some useful insights, anecdotes and trading tips he’s learnt along the way, meet Bet Angel’s Peter Webb. Meeting Peter Webb.

Welcome to the 29th CONKERS’ CORNER. In this interview I have the privilege of speaking with award winning Investment Fund Manager @gervais_mam Gervais Williams. He is currently the Managing Director of Miton Group Plc, where he and the team monitor the market trend changes beyond the credit boom, and aim to set up funds with investment strategies harnessing forthcoming investment trends. Gervais grew up in Abergavenny in Monmouthshire; a county in South East Wales. As the son of a Farmer, he had always liked business but did not know how he was going to get into it. He attended the University of Liverpool where he attained an Engineering Degree and went onto become a Chartered Engineer. It was in 1985 that Gervais made the switch into the Investment industry, after successfully applying for a Trainee Fund Manager role at the Throgmorton Investment Trust. He started analysing small companies, did his industry exams and remained with the group for five years. Gervais first “dabbled a bit” in stocks and shares during the Thatcher revolution and the Conservative government’s de-nationalisation policy of utilities and services. He participated in some of the privatisations, however he admits that he has never really invested that much of his own personal account, preferring instead to invest in the funds he worked for. He states that when he started analysing small companies they were in fashion and were central to all portfolios His criteria then was to look for small companies which generated good earnings growth, with lowish PEs and limited downside risk. Gervais says that there were a lot of bankruptcies at that time and you had to be mindful of their accounting policy issues. Gervais became an Investment Manager in UK & Irish Small Cap Stocks at Thornton Investment Management (now part of Dresdner Bank) in July 1990. It was during this time that he worked with Peter Webb, managing the Thornton UK Smaller Companies Unit Trust. In March 1993 Gervais was appointed as a Fund Manager with Gartmore Asset Management. There he gained an extensive experience of investing in quoted stocks in the UK and Ireland, with a particular interest in companies with smaller market capitalisations. He headed up the UK Small Cap Desk for many years running portfolios such as UK & Irish Smaller Companies, Gartmore Growth plc, Gartmore Irish Growth Trust plc and Gartmore Fledgling Trust plc.During this period of success the team collected many investment awards. The humble Gervais once said that he joined Gartmore at “a fortuitous time as it coincided with a major shift in the markets after a prolonged period of recession”. He remained with Gartmore for nearly eighteen years. When Gervais decided to leave Gartmore he did so with the intention of looking at all the opportunities available to him before choosing to the best in join Miton Group in March 2011. Since 2011 Miton have established four new funds that Gervais has managed along with Martin Turner, and taken on the mandate for The Investment Company plc. These funds have genuinely active investment strategies. The funds are: the Diverse Income Trust Investment Trust, the CF Miton UK Multi Cap Income OEIC, the CF Miton UK Smaller Companies OEIC and the Miton UK Microcap Trust. On a professional level Gervais has remained focused on small stocks throughout his career. So much so that his experience and passion for that niche led to him writing his book “The Future is Small” http://www.thefutureissmall.com/ explaining the unique characteristics of the UK’s AIM market for smaller, growing companies. When Gervais joined Miton they issued their Full Year results in April 2011 with Funds under Management of £1.7 Billion. How close do you live to your local grocery store? Most of us don't know. As long as it's close to home, it's not a problem. But when you don't have a local grocery store, or you have one but it's too far away to get to without transportation, figuring out how you'll buy your groceries becomes a big problem. For the past decade, Americans have driven an average of 6 miles between home and their closest grocery store. For rural Americans, especially those in the South, the trip can be much longer. This phenomenon is called a food desert. Food deserts aren't mere inconveniences to the people who live within one; they're an example of food insecurity and they negatively affect public health. Today, we are joined by Peter Webb, inventor of Food Computer kits and an avid supporter of OpenAg. We discover more about OpenAg and how Peter is providing solutions to those living in food deserts.

In this episode of the First Loved podcast, Mark Fee interviews one of our long-time lead facilitators Peter Webb. Pete shares about his first experience with FLM, how the practices have helped him be able to minister to people at church and in the workplace, and how it has become a regular way for him and his wife to share in God's love. THANK YOU, PETE!

This incredible story relates how the negatives got lost, and then found again, Andy Warhol doing the cover for the album instead and more amazing never heard before stuff. The book that is published by Ormond Yard Press contains the entire surviving archive from Peter Webb’s 1971 Sticky Fingers session with The Rolling Stones. Incredibly, two thirds of the photographs in the book have never been published. Must hear!!
