In this episode of Nick Nack Goes To The Movies, we are back for the conclusion of our X-Men live action film franchise episode. Finally, I can tell you about my New Mutants reaction, but before we get to that, we got to kick things of with Days of Future Past...The Rogue Cut because you know how we do here as movie watching experts as I know you all are if you are listening to this podcast. So let us remember the glory of Fassbender, Reynolds, Lawrence, McAvoy, Stewart, McKellen, Jackman, and so many more who took part in this 13 movie 20 year franchise. And let us try really hard to forget that Dark Phoenix exists. I will also not leave y'all without not only a list of definitive rankings of best and worst, but my attempt to give you the best chronological way to view all these films, and it is a doozy, but I think it makes sense. So what are my fun call to action parts of this podcast for social? If you like Dark Phoenix, tell me why, I am super curious if anyone can change my mind here? And a more for everyone prompt, what is your favorite X-Men movie and why? Let us know at either @NickNackMovies on Instagram or @NickNack_IC on Twitter and you could get a shoutout on next weeks episode. And remember, if you are listening on Apple Podcasts, this movie franchise is packed with starts, and you should make the reviews filled with 5 stars too.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is now on Disney+, so we sat down and watched the extended Rogue Cut (spoiler: Rogue’s barely in it). We discuss the ups and downs of the X-Men franchise, how this movie feels like it belongs in a pre-Avengers world, and wonder why Fox executives can’t seem to manage to comprehend continuity across a handful of movies.
Wolverine once again gets the star treatment in the 45th installment of our Merry Marvel Movie March, the 2014 film "X-Men: Days of Future Past". We discuss the merits of this movie's time travel mechanic, Tricky Dick, and our favorite cameos. Plus, we've watched "The Rogue Cut" to evaluate whether cutting out an entire character from the film made it better.
As promised, We are Back! …kinda. The Professor unofficially brings you a special Pandemic Edition of the BSB Podcast. We are not at liberty to say anything else.
Fox: “Hey, Bryan? Uh, we need you to come back and finish what you started.” Bryan Singer: “Alright, but I'm calling the shots, okay? That means no more killing my characters off and sewing their mouths shut.” Well, boys and girls, this is the cream of the crop of the X-Men films. And before you crucify us, we mean “X-Men” in a strict sense, as in not including the solo acts. In this episode we get tangled in the untangle-able timeline that Fox produced. We praise the visuals and themes, while wondering, “What was the ultimate plan for this franchise?” AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: Why - by Nicholas Holt's Beast feet, WHY - is Mystique disguised as Stryker at the end of this movie!?!?!? Your answer will not be enough to justify it. It just won't. Enjoy, and leave us some of those sweet, sweet voice messages!
In this episode, Melissa and Thomas talk about the X-Men movies. For every X-Men United, there's been an Apocalypse. As a result, we've gone through each installment of the franchise and created our own machete order! We swapped which movies to watch and when, we also remove some of the stinkers, but keep one that some may disagree with, but we feel it's a necessary evil to make sure the payoff of Days of Future Past resonates properly.Have a listen and, per usual, follow us on social @geekygabpodcast.
For today's episode, the gang makes the mistake of watching the extra long version of a movie that's already pretty long in Days Of Future Past: The Rogue Cut. Matthew (who had never seen the Rogue Cut) regrets the decision, Matt (who had never seen the movie) also regrets the decision, and Alexis regrets inviting them over to her house because at that point the movie is so long and she just wants to go to bed without having to deal with an extra hour and a half worth of rambling. The rest of the movie was still good, though!
In the much anticipated return of the film commentary series, Trev & Joe are once again joined by our friend (and fellow X-Nerd) Tom, to provide a running audio commentary for 2014's X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. This star-studded follow-up to both FIRST CLASS and the original X-MEN trilogy is one of the most successful, critically acclaimed entries in the Fox X-MEN franchise. Why is this particular entry so beloved, and does now knowing where the series was heading after this (not to mention more knowledge about the problematic director) change how one might x-perience the film? Join us as we watch the film and x-plore these questions, and more. As usual with our commentaries, watching along with us is recommended, but certainly not required. May gets two Comic Film releases. The first being Captain America: Civil War and now X-Men: Apocalypse. With the all mighty Apocalypse coming to theaters for the first time, it was only fitting to watch the film leading into the events of it. Here is our fan commentary for the Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past. Not only does it re include Rogue but a lot of very important story points that the theatrical version left unanswered. There's parts of this film where Ben and Billy catch themselves just watching the movie (cause it's that damn good) instead of talking. Also learn about the Dazzler film that never happened but you better believe you wish did!!! In this super-sized episode, Trev & Joe are joined by a special guest and real-life girl, Christina Himmelspach (@stinaspach), in order to finally give the show some female perspective. The three provide, for its 21st anniversary, a full in-depth breakdown of the four-part adaptation of The Dark Phoenix Saga from the '90s X-Men: Animated Series, discussing its highs, lows, and weird decisions. Also, in the second ever episode of Chatting Tatum, the choice of Doug Liman to direct Gambit analyzed (and Tatum is fawned over, of course). The trio also ponder whether the Deadpool movie is being primarily marketed to "dude-bro's," and answer some listener questions regarding potential Deadpool cameo's in future X-films, Quicksilver's magic walk-man, and the "Rogue Cut" of Days of Future Past. And, Christina talks cosplaying, Trev defends himself against an infamous slanderous story that Joe won't let die, and the trio discuss the recent Shia LeBeouf "All My Movies" event. All this and more, on (perhaps) the most estrogen-friendly episode yet! This week's theme song, Songs You Didn't Know Had Lyrics: X-Men, comes from Fox's Animation Domination High Def. X-Men: Days of Future Past (The Rogue Cut) udkom på dansk blu-ray fra 20th Century Fox d. 16. juli. Hør mere om filmen i podcasten og læs om blu-rayen på bloggen.
Matt and Tristan finish their X-Men analysis by discussing X-Men First Class, Days of Future Past, and it’s Rogue Cut.What did you think of the Rogue Cut? Was it necessary?
This is the first episode where we visit a film which has been given a short back and sides - or in this case, banks trimmed and what's taken off the banks is added to the eyebrows. In other words, we cannot find a true reason why X Men Rogue Cut for Days of Future Past exists. Naturally, it's about the money. Fans have to set aside more cash when they already paid for what was a cut accepted for theatrical release. Why take more? Now in the future, we hope to revisit more re-cuts, special editions, directors cuts, ultimate editions, and anniversary cuts and find out which ones are worth buying. One thing is for sure... Star Wars is not one of them, especially when they claimed that the original version would be available for the last time... on VHS... Go figure.

In the interest of full disclosure, this episode is filled with the pop hits of yesteryear, so be warned. When not mining recent top 40 hits, Dan and Andrew slide into their usual avenues of nerdy and geeky conversation in episode 19. Week in Geek: Andrew talks about the Kickstarting documentary, A Brief History of Time Travel, while Dan watches a documentar about voice acting, I Know That Voice. Breaking News: With this week's announcement that a Tetris-based movie is going forward, Andrew regales Dan with this pitch for the flick. Discussion: Fox recently announced that an extended "Rogue Cut" of X-Men: Days of Future Past will be released to home video––restoring footage not featured in the theatrical cut of the film––Dan and Andrew discuss the purpose, audience, and need of extended cuts/director's cuts of movies. Conspiracy Corner: When Dan received a copy of the free "Marvel's 75th Celebration" magazine, he was surprised at the glaring omissions on the cover. Was it sly movie marketing or a case of bigotry (admittedly, against a fictional peoples)? Question of the Week: Since October is now upon us, we turn our sights toward Halloween; so, even this early in the month, we ask: What is your favorite genre of horror movie? You can submit your answers on the page for this week's episode at forall.libsyn.com. Feel free to submit your answers to either (or both) our official Facebook or Google+ pages.
