We watched Marvel's worst reviewed property since maybe Corman's Fantastic Four or Generation X in the 90's.  The show sat at 0% for long enough that it counts. At recording time the only positive review was from common sense media and they just rate movies based on how appropriate they are to christian audiences so screw them its 0% to us! Lamelo could be heard saying "saying beat that N**** ass" , contrary to what the organization formerly known as the WWF would like you to believe this isn't the first use of the word on the program. Lisa Durden was first from her job after appearing on Fox News defending a Black only Black Lives Matter event. The new NRA ad is horrifying and appeals to the lowest common denominator of white supremacy. A new low even for them. Germany is looking pretty great, sure they still have the racism, but same sex marriages are legal, free college plus tasty pastries. It's finale time fellow Defenders as we return with our Iron Fist Episode 13 Review and our top five points about "Dragon Plays With Fire" in our Spoiler filled discussion. Iron Fist Episode 13 Review Podcast "Dragon Plays With Fire" Spoiler filled Synopsis Written by: Scott Buck and Tamara Becher-Wilkinson and Pat Charles Directed by: Stephen Surjik In the aftermath of the DEA strike on Danny Rand (Finn Jones), Harold Meachum (David Wenham) returns to take control of  Rand Enterprises with his children at his side. However Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey) has other plans as he allies with Danny and tells Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup) about Harold's deception. Joy confronts Harold who denies framing Danny, but unconvinced Joy begins to see her father’s true monstrous colours and walks out on him and Rand Enterprises. Meanwhile Danny and Colleen seek answers from Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho) who reveals that Harold was the mastermind of the plane crash and the death of his parents. With the help of Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) and Ward, they infiltrate Rand Enterprises to confront Harold and recover the data on the tablet that can clear Danny of the DEA charges. In the shootout Harold escapes to the rooftop where him and Danny face-off. As Danny fights Harold his difficult choice that will shape him as the Iron Fist, whether to seek vengeance or justice is decided before Ward arrives and shoots his father, who falls from the skyscraper to his death. Just to be sure Ward accompanied by Danny has the body cremated. After the bonfire Danny convinces Colleen to head to K'un-Lun where a bloody sight greets them at the entrance and the Mystical city has gone. Ladies Night [30:27]   As rough as Jessica Jones is for many to watch, the Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents rewatch the first episode this week. Upon the second watch the Agents agree that there is a lot more to the episode than the viewer can grasp the first time through. There are plenty of moments of levity too once the viewer knows everything to look for as well. Two words: “Laser Eyes.” The episode does a wonderful job as portraying a realistic victim narrative in fiction – probably the best that we have ever seen – and ways people use to cope with abuse. The episode also holds the keys to several Marvel firsts including Marvel’s first sex scene and Marvel’s first same sex couple. At the same time the series stays true to the comics including the man being thrown through Jessica’s office/apartment door. The Agents also comment on the horror aspect of the series which is readily apparent when Hope tells Jessica to “smile.” Chilling. In the end Jessica decides to confront her trauma and do something about Kilgrave – the center of the chaos for many in the series. Oh – and Agent Lauren does taxidermy AND knows multiple languages.
