I know many people out there are feeling a lot of anxiety, stress, worry, fear, terror, or just generally annoyed, about the upcoming election. I feel a lot of compassion for those struggling. I, personally, am having a blast! I'm enjoying it so much! To me it's much more interesting, entertaining, and fascinating, than any TV series, or reality TV show. This episode of The Circle is my intent to provide some spiritual medicine, and, in my view, a more accurate perspective, on the state of the union, than the one you hear on mainstream media, and how to navigate the next week or so. This is the most impassioned, and engaged I've ever seen Americans politically on both sides, which, if you believe in democracy, is a good thing. It's much better than if no one cares. I predict 2024 will be the largest turnout to vote in American history. As always, the conversation hits on a wide range of related issues with multiple contributors from the Circle. In this edition of RC spotlight we hear from Frederich Hayem (Fred), a relatively new runner who has achieved rapid success since taking up the sport just over a year ago. He is the perfect example of how good training and learning from your mistakes is the best way to improve as an athlete. He joined our coaching program with the goal of running his first marathon and crushed it, running a 3:29. Despite some injury and setbacks, he has taken several minutes off of his already impressive half marathon PR and as he moves into a new age group, he is only continuing to get faster. Fred attributes much of his success to consistent strength training and sticking to a plan without stressing about hitting mileage or paces exactly.
