A group of bikies converged on Sydney airport. Within minutes, one was dead and others injured. It was an incident that set off one of the world's most intense and effective gang operations, and led to a plethora of law changes and high profile convictions. Deborah Wallace is a titan of NSW Police. Retiring in 2019 after 36 years in the force, she became known across Australia as 'The Gangbuster', after successful operations in the intense region of Cabramatta, and then the aforementioned Strike Force Raptor. The beginning of her career though was much more abstract. She was involved in one of Australia's most horrific cases. The rape and murder of Anita Cobby in 1986. Understand the impact of that case on Deb, and Australia as a whole as Brent Sanders steps through the career of one of Australia's most decorated police officers. Send us a textTom began his distinguished career with the NYPD in 1990, following his graduation from the Academy. He was assigned to the 30th Precinct in West Harlem, one of the busiest precincts in the department at the time. From 1996 to 1999, Tom served in the Bronx Narcotics Unit, where he was involved in multiple large-scale narcotics operations. One of his most notable cases was a joint operation with the DEA, which led to the seizure of 125 kilos of cocaine from Venezuela—still the largest cocaine bust in the history of the Bronx Narcotics Unit. The operation also resulted in the arrest of several members of a Venezuelan drug cartel. In 1999, Tom was transferred to the Bronx Gang Unit, where he worked on a high-profile investigation that led to the federal arrest of "OG Mac," the leader of the East Coast Bloods Street Gang. His team also arrested the leaders of the United Bloods Nation and the Nieta's Street Gang, crippling their operations in the area.In 2003, Tom was assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, following the Terrorist attacks of 9/11, where he worked on numerous international and domestic terrorism cases. His role included briefing the highest levels of government on critical matters of national security. Tom traveled to 18 countries, leading investigations that ranged from anti-terrorism operations to high-profile kidnapping cases. One of his most notable achievements was leading a three-month deployment to Afghanistan, where he oversaw the successful resolution of a kidnapping case involving a New York Times reporter.Tom's vigilance and expertise also led to the prevention of a planned school shooting, which was thwarted just six days before the attack. During the arrest, law enforcement recovered a hit list, a diagram of the school, and materials used to make pipe bombs.Throughout his career, Tom held a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance and briefed some of the highest-ranking members of the U.S. government. After 30 years of exemplary service, Tom retired in 2020 as a Second Grade Detective.Find Tom SmithInstagramWebsiteYoutubeFind The Suffering PodcastThe Suffering Podcast InstagramKevin Donaldson InstagramMike Failace InstagramApple PodcastSpotifyYouTubeThe Suffering Podcast FamilySherri AllsupKetaReviveToyota of HackensackSupport the showThe Suffering Podcast Instagram Kevin Donaldson Instagram TikTok YouTube

We had it wrong last week. We reported that a shooting was caused by two motorcycle clubs in conflict over patch policing but what we've since found out is that FSU, classified as a street gang by the FBI, attacked a Christian club in a restaurant in Portland to remove their colors. Texas Gov. A group of 32 armed Venezuelan nationals reportedly took control of an apartment building in Chicago on Monday night, according to a 911 dispatch call and local sources. The audio, which has been widely circulated online, captures the chaotic scene as residents desperately called for help, leading to heightened concerns over the rise in migrant-related crime in the United States. That's what a post shared Elon Musk said today. Chicago police have confirmed the 911 call as being authentic but said when police arrived they found no evidence of the reported incident. The alleged takeover in Chicago follows a similar incident in Aurora, Colorado, where a group of Venezuelan migrants reportedly seized control of a building. Although there is no video footage from the Chicago incident, the 911 audio has been verified by local authorities, who confirmed that law enforcement responded to the situation and found no evidence. police did not say whether it was a swatting incident at this time.
The Tren de Aragua grew out of disastrous regime policies to give gang leaders more power in prisons. Its mysterious leader, Niño Guerrero, soon controlled an entire facility, and installed a prison bar, a nightclub—and even a zoo. More state bungling allowed the Tren to take over entire city neighbourhoods unchallenged. So when Venezuela's economy plummeted and hundreds of thousands fled the nation, it became a key player in the booming migrant smuggling trade, spreading into neighboring Latin American states. Now the Tren is in the US. But is there really a full-scale invasion, as media are beginning to say? We unpick the fact and fiction of this dangerous new group. Learn more about your ad choices. The 18th Street Gang, also known as "Barrio 18" or "La 18," is a violent and widespread street gang that originated in Los Angeles in the 1960s. Formed by Mexican-American youth and later expanding to include members from various Latino backgrounds, the gang is known for its inclusivity, allowing members from diverse ethnicities. Over the decades, it has grown into a transnational criminal organization with thousands of members across the United States, Mexico, and Central America. The gang is heavily involved in a range of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, robbery, and murder. Its decentralized structure, consisting of multiple "cliques" or sub-groups operating independently, makes it highly adaptable and difficult for law enforcement to dismantle. The 18th Street Gang is notorious for its use of violence to maintain control over its territories and engage in conflicts with rival gangs, most notably MS-13.The gang's impact on communities is significant, contributing to violence, fear, and social instability, particularly in Central America. Despite numerous efforts by law enforcement and governments to curb its activities, the 18th Street Gang remains a formidable and enduring criminal entity.(commerial at 9:12) to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

The Heath Street gang has been a blight on the Bromley-Heath Housing project for decades, but a large scale raid in 2024, has decimated the gang. The gang's members were deadly, but not very smart. During one foray into murder, one Heath Street gang member, shot another, while the duo tried to kill a gang rival. Another member conducted a shooting, while on an ankle monitor for another felony, that's the level of intelligence that the FBI and other authorities were dealing with. There was also significant Covid relief fraud, delineated by the gang members rap songs. That's right they sing about their crimes, while dancing with firearms. Genius! Please share this episode!Fox 25-https://bit.ly/3TPJweXCBS-https://bit.ly/3JakAtGBoston Herald-https://bit.ly/4aoCmFz

El Salvador's warring street gangs-turned-armies may have finally been broken thanks to the heavy-handed policies of Nayib Bukele dumping anyone and everyone into prison. But before MS-13 and 18th Street had been taken down a notch, they ruled neighborhoods in El Salvador with a brutality rarely seen. It's not just face tattoos and machetes. We break down the origins of the gangs here and our time spent with them in El Salvador. Isaiah Tapusoa grew up in a 4 bedroom home shared with 25 of his family members; a time he recalls fondly. As a young child, Isaiah was often the teacher's favorite and had many friends but in the 5th grade, one bad decision changed everything and for the rest of his school years, he was labeled as a druggy and a troublemaker. Although he continued down bad roads, his basketball talent made him a star player with opportunities from multiple universities, which he ultimately traded for a life of drugs and time in prison. Listen as he describes his internal fight of balancing addiction and fatherhood. Join us as we explore how the power or love and an incredible skill for basketball turned Isaiah's life around, in turn blessing so many lives for years to come. His young life 2:15Taking a different path starting with Marijuana 8:20Getting into basketball 20:00Post high school 29:30Coming off meth 34:00Building a new life 40:00Helping others avoid the same mistakes 49:00Jail time 53:00What could have made a difference 58:40801 Basketball 65:50“What was coming off meth like?” “It was hard man, that was one of the hardest battles I've ever had in my life and I relapsed maybe 3, 4 times after that, and for me that was one of the hardest battles to overcome. Les Bélangers, Montreal's first Haitian street gang, wasn't the criminal enterprise it was painted as by Quebec police and a willing media in Canada in the 1980s. At first, it wasn't even a gang; it was a group of friends who fought back against the racist violence that their community was routinely subjected to in city parks and schools, on the metro and in downtown bars. We are joined by the leader of Les Bélangers, Maxime Aurélien, and by Ted Rutland, professor at Concordia University in Montreal; they are together the authors of Out to Defend Ourselves: A History of Montreal's First Haitian Street Gang. All Home Care Matters was honored to welcome, Dr. Reynolds A. Kairus or also known as "Dr. Rey" as a guest to the show. Dr. Rey was raised in the 1990s by a single mother, on government assistance and living in a poverty-stricken NYC neighborhood. Nine out of ten of the people he was raised with are either dead, in jail or have been to jail. His father figures were loved ones who were in and out of correctional facilities, gangster movies and gangster rap artist. After several benign run-ins with the law and near-death experiences, he decided to get his act together. Dr. Rey became an emergency medical technician in 2003. He started considering the possibility of becoming a physician in 2004, although he secretly thought that a person with his upbringing and social class couldn't make this monumental achievement happen. After being introduced to the “Self-Improvement” section of Barnes and Noble, he began to realize the potential that he had - the potential we all have. Receiving mentorship through books and high-level individuals allowed him to pursue the goal to become a medical doctor. After graduating, the stress of not practicing medicine immediately, not working, considering eating food out the garbage, being on government assistance again, being a family of 4 while living in a room the size of a closet, being 60 pounds overweight, the initiation of an inevitable divorce, being surrounded by negative energy, amongst other things.... was overwhelming. That is when he got sick and tired of being sick and tired. Dr. Rey then leaned on a healthy lifestyle as a safe haven and sought mentorship, started tracking his macronutrient intake, became conscious of the negative self-talk, took up martials arts and weightlifting. Now you'll note a man who got his life back, is confident, living his dreams, full of energy and living life on his terms and Dr. Rey wishes the same for you!
This is The All Local afternoon update on Tuesday, March 21st, 2023.

Travel Gluten-Free Podcast Season 07 Episode 28 Gluten Free European Bakeries with Matt from Gluten Free Street Gang Join us in today's Travel Gluten-free Podcast as Matt from the Gluten Free Street Gang and I chat about the favorite bakeries he's visited throughout Europe! We talk about where you can find the best gluten free croissants, gluten free cake, and gluten free pastries around the world. The Popularity of Gluten Free Bakeries There are many gluten-free bakeries in European countries that offer a variety of gluten-free baked goods such as bread, pastries, and desserts. Some of these bakeries may be dedicated exclusively to gluten-free products, while others may offer both gluten-free and gluten-containing options. It is worth noting that the availability and popularity of gluten-free products has increased significantly in recent years, so it is likely that there are many options for those following a gluten-free diet in these countries. About Matt Bzedl Matt grew up outside the US with expat parents and travel has been a constant of his life since he was a toddler. Matt has been on a gluten free diet since December 2013 and has IBS. While gluten isn't the only culprit, gluten is his worst offender. He started my meme account after getting an idea for a meme about Starbucks discontinuing their gluten free breakfast sandwich. Matt has run the largest gluten free meme account on Instagram for a little over two years and is proud to both be a leader in our community as well as building connections with people from all over the world who find my his relatable. The name of his account comes from a soccer team he was on when living in the US. Matt had a wild assortment of injuries and with the constant jokes about being in his mid-20s going on 80, the name "Retirement Home Street Gang" was born. The name Gluten Free Street Gang came about as an extension of that name. He's been to 27 countries (and lived in four countries if you count study abroad). His best travel story is when he was working in Belgium and took a sleeper train with some friends and woke up in a different country than his intended travel destination. Matt hopes to keep travel as a central content theme for his upcoming work.
