Shandel shares the "Commit to It and Do It" framework she presented in Germany for living according to one's core values. She outlines the six steps using the acronym COMMIT: Clarify values, Organize life around them, acknowledge Misery as a sign you've strayed, Make hard decisions, Invest in your values, Trust yourself by not compromising. The COMMIT Framework: C - Clarify your top 5 values. Getting crystal clear on the values that are most important to you is essential for the next steps. Clarity provides focus.O - Organize your life around those values. Once you know your values, intentionally structure your time, goals, decisions, etc. to align with what really matters to you.M - Misery is a sign you've strayed from your values. Pay attention when you feel unhappy or unfulfilled - it could indicate you're off course from living congruently.M - Make hard decisions to stay true to your values. Living by your values often requires letting go of less important things, even if they're convenient or profitable. Having the courage to do this is key.I - Invest in what you value and divest from what you don't. Put your energy, money and resources toward the things and people that align with your values.T - Trust yourself by not compromising your values and orienting your life around them. Have integrity by staying true to your word with yourself. Rely on your instincts to guide decisions.Clarifying your top 5 values provides focus and is the foundation for living intentionally and developing self-awareness of your core values provides clarity and focus to achieve goals. Organizing your life and decisions around your values, rather than other factors, ensures you spend energy on what's most meaningful and leads to fulfillment. Feelings of misery or unhappiness can indicate you've strayed from your values and it's time to realign. Living by your values may require difficult decisions, but has rewards like peace of mind that outweigh other benefits. Invest your energy and resources into what really matters to you based on your values. Surrounding yourself with truth-tellers who hold you accountable helps you stay aligned with your values over time. It's important to treat yourself with the same kindness you show others to stay motivated living congruently. Having compassion for yourself during missteps helps you get back on track living according to your values instead of experiencing shame. Thanks for joining us - don't forget to subscribe, rate (or like), comment & share!Visit our website and follow us on social media - Facebook, Instagram & LinkedInWe LOVE your feedback & questions - click HERE to share your questions/feedback or email us at podcast@shandelgroup.comSubscribe for our free 66 Seconds with Shandel Group at shandel.com#LeadForClarity #LeadershipDevelopment #Leadership #Growth #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipCoaching #EmotionalIntelligence #Clarity #PersonalAccountability #Communication

Sounds simple, but it's much harder in practice. Consistency is not sexy, but it builds trust and it creates your future. T.U.N.E. - T = Trust and truth U = Unite with love N = Neutralize the negativity. “I do not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” - Gandhi E = Elevate your thinking. With gratitude, optimism, and belief How to handle imposter syndrome - One sheet of paper. On one side write your negative thoughts. On the other side write words of encouragement. Again, this sounds basic, but it's been proven to work. Navigate the Roller Coaster of our Mind: Take on our challenges in life with confidence and power instead of fear and insecurity. Recognize & Overcome the Five Ds of Negative Thought: Doubt, Distortion, Discouragement, Distraction, and Division. The root of the Greek word for anxious means “to separate and divide” When we are anxious, we feel divided. The key is to move towards “oneness”. Tune into More Positive Thoughts: Jon explains a revolutionary idea that the brain is an antenna, and we can elevate our minds with proven strategies. For example, we can't be stressed and thankful at the same time. When we appreciate, we elevate. Override Fear with Love: Let love (the ultimate driver of grit) be the driving force behind our work and vocation, unlocking new levels of determination, devotion and success. Improve Mental Health & Relationships: Move from disconnection, loneliness and isolation to connection, healing, and wholeness. Whether you're a recent graduate, executive, artist, parent, engineer, teacher, spouse, athlete or coach, once you know The One Truth, you'll see how it impacts leadership, teamwork, mindset, performance, relationships, addictions, social media, anxiety, mental health and your overall quality of life. Bad teams = nobody leads. Average teams = coaches lead. Elite teams = players lead Change management -- People follow the leader first and the vision second. People won't care about your vision if you don't care about them. “Thoughts are magnetic. What we think about we attract.” Goals: "It's not your goals that will lead to your success but your commitment to the process." "The best teams don't focus on winning championships. They focus on being champions. This leads to championships." “When leaders become focused on the fruit instead of the root and worry about the outcome instead of the process of developing team members, they may survive in the short run, but they will not thrive in the long run.” “As a leader, it is so important that your words equal your actions. It is imperative that you make sure that you go through a self-evaluation process on an almost daily basis to make sure that your actions are in line with your words. You must do what you say and say what you do.” “There's a difference between culture and having a theme for the year. A theme does not equal culture. Too many schools/org move from theme to theme instead of building a culture. Utilize a theme as a tool to help you build a great culture.” “They asked a bunch of ninety-five-year-olds if they could do it all over again and live their life again what would they do differently. The three things that almost all of them said were: (1) They would reflect more. Enjoy more moments. More sunrises and sunsets. More moments of joy. (2) They would take more risks and chances. Life is too short not to go for it. (3) They would have left a legacy. Something that would live on after they die.” 00:35 - Lessons from Athletics 05:29 - Struggling With Adversity As a Child 07:47 - Building a Life-Changing Team from The Energy Bus 15:08 - Fear That Comes With Imposter Syndrome 20:54 - Transition from Self-Talk to Action 31:05 - How to React to Skeptics 36:14 - View Life as a Movie 40:25 - Leadership Qualities That Are Repetitive 44:18 - Advice for the Younger Generation 47:48 - Early is On Time

It's difficult when we've asked God for something and then we're denied. It's easy for us to fall into the trap of victim-like thinking: why is this happening to me? Why does everybody else seem like they're doing great and I'm not? It can be hard when we don't get what we want; however, it's an opportunity for God to stretch our faith and help us to draw closer to Him. It's spiritual maturity that will drive us above our hurt and disappointed feelings. It's spiritual immaturity that will lead us to look at others and allow our hearts to be filled with jealousy and envy. There's a way out of the temptation of feeling sorry for ourselves. It's through what questions we can ask when we don't get what we WANT: W – What are our motives? Good or Bad? “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” (James 4:2-3) If our motives are good, then we know that God will lead us in the right place even if we don't get what we want when we want it. If our motives are for our own selfish ambition, then we want God to place roadblocks so that we can repent and refocus on what is good. (Psalm 5:8, 1 Samuel 16:7) A – Are we wanting what God wants for us? Yes or No? “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” (James 5:14-15) If we want what God wants for us, we can rest in peace and contentment that it's His will in his perfect timing. If we want what we want for ourselves, we may be setting ourselves up to move further from God and closer to the world. (Esther 2:15, Philippians 4:6-7) N – Now is my season? Yes or No? “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) If this is my season to receive what God has for me, then I can expect Him to move above and beyond what I have asked for Him to do. If this isn't my season, then I can learn the spiritual discipline of waiting on God. (Ephesians 3:20, Isaiah 40:31) T – Trust in Jesus? Yes or No? “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) If I'm trusting in God, I know that He is trustworthy above any and everything in my life. If I'm not trusting in God, I need to pull for times of prayer and scripture study to increase my measure of faith during times of testing. (Psalm 20:7-8, Mark 9:22-24) PRAYER Dear Lord, I'm disappointed that I didn't get what I wanted. Yet I know that You are in control of my life and have a plan for me. Increase my faith to trust You more. In Jesus' name, amen. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/felicia721/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/felicia721/support

Sermon by Ernest Ebersole Why did Jesus choose to call Judas? Why did Judas choose to follow Jesus? What made Judas change his mind and become a traitor? T - Think and realize what we are doing and whether we are serving the kingdom every chance we get. R - Repent of past betrayal. A - Align with God and the Kingdom. I - Invest our energy in relationships and things that matter. T - Trust that God can do what He says and take care of us. O - Overcome temptations and think ahead and plan to follow Christ and not get blind sided by temptations. R - Remember our humanity and where we have been, Never forget where we have been in our lives. Remember the pain that traitors cause and let's not bring that on someone else.
Firstly, apologies for the background noise at times on this one, Tamy-Fee had to do the recording from a public place. I had a sense the discussion would be a good one though, so I wanted to try and get it done. Hopefully it is not too bad. Tamy-Fee lead off with trust as her most important value and the conversation took some interesting, thought provoking turns from there. What we realized through the discussion was that there were two forms of "trust" at play, little "t" trust and big "T" Trust. For Tamy-Fee the most important thing is living in a world where you have big "T" Trust in the people you engage with. That means you can Trust that those people have done the work to better understand themselves, deal with their insecurities/fears/etc., and be able to rationally make decisions that come from a place of compassion and humanity. She made an important distinction too that this does not mean everyone has to agree and think the same; it simply means that when we disagree we can Trust that each of us are coming from a rational/humane place and can have a genuine conversation about why we disagree. We then explored this a bit with some real life examples, involving, parenting, race, and professional careers. Although I very much like Tamy-Fee's view and the insights we discovered, I do still wonder about the practical implementation of it. As we know, in society today there is a lack of big "T" Trust across many different people and groups. We tried to understand why this might be and in doing so we inevitably run into the problem of "who gets to decide?" Who gets to decide if you've done the "work" effectively, who gets to decide if the approach you take is "humane", who gets to decide if there are certain underlying values that are universal and non-negotiable (and if so, what are they)? Tamy-Fee's hope is that if everyone genuinely does their best to build Trust in themselves and each other, it won't be perfect and we will still have issues, but overall we will be a lot better off.
Dave Lukas, The Misfit Entrepreneur_Breakthrough Entrepreneurship
This week's Misfit Entrepreneur is Alicia Jarrett. Alicia is your quintessential entrepreneur. She is an international real estate investor with offices in Australia and the US, an educator, and founder of multiple companies including SuperCharged Offers and Global Citizens HQ which includes multiple other brands in its holdings. She left a 6-figure job to start her own businesses and as she says “build something great.” And now years later she has done so and has also founded groups to foster women in leadership around the world. I can't wait to dig into all of this with her and get her best advice on how to succeed in real estate investing, so let's get to it. www.Superchargedoffers.com 888-538-5478 alicia@superchargedoffers.com Alicia and her partner Matthew have had great careers. Alicia was in HR and consulting for 18 years and Matt has a background in global transportation and systems. Things were going great in their 6 figure jobs. About a decade ago, Alicia started thinking there was something bigger she should be doing. Why was she there? Why was she was in this job? She loved what she did, but knew there was something bigger out there. So she started a consulting practice focused on leadership and developing people. At the same time, Matt and Alicia were doing some real estate investing. Investing in Australia was much different and limiting compared to the US. They were doing fix and flips and rentals, but asked what could do they by combining their skills and building something bigger for themselves. The goal was to build a business they can do anywhere in the world. They ended up landing in the US doing fix and flips from Australia. They had some successes and some failures. They then worked to combined their talents utilize data in a bigger way. They figured out a process for how to wholesale land and invest. As they had success, they decided to go further and better automate their marketing and lead generation creating their SuperCharged offers platform. This led to other businesses being created to help build their companies as they are today. Tell us about your strategy, system, and what you do… Land Scouts is a business that buys off market land usually from estates or that people have owned for long periods of time and have not done anything with it. A lot of realtors don't want to deal in land There is a need for a service to help sell the land and/or get problems fixed so the land can be sold. Alicia will buy and hold and/or buy and flip. They also help with financing working the seller and seller financing. The Supercharged Offers business helps generate the leads for the land deals. Alicia and Matt are obsessed with data and have developed a science on gathering and filtering the data to find the best opportunities. They then market through omnichannel to those opportunities. 6 D's- Data, Direct Mail, Digital, Design of everything in the language of the customer, Demographics, Done for you. This discussion is the bulk of the episode, so it's best to listen… What is your take on the current real estate market? It feels like history is repeating itself. Alicia is doubling down and marketing hard. Alicia is using data to help with market sentiment looking at the last 2 years of sales trends. The market sentiment is shifting with people paying more and more above market value. Getting good properties is harder because the sellers are in control, so you really need to be looking at the data to adjust offers accordingly. Traditionally 10% of people in the US move every year…that has changed and is a higher percentage during Covid The trend is out of the cities and to find more suburban life. What are you doing to prepare for when this real estate bubble ends? You have to look at pivoting your strategies You cannot do nothing. You have to be prepared. If you wait to act, by the time the shift has happened, it is too late. Demand will shift as those that wanted to get land or move from the cities will and that demand will dry up. Tell us about the B-RAFT method for leadership… People don't leave jobs, people leave people. B- What are the clearly defined boundaries for your team. The boundaries that help them grow and develop. R-Right relationships in place A- Accountability. Put processes in place to define and drive accountability. F – Feedback. You have to be good a giving feedback as a leader. Feedback is not always about telling someone. It is about a leader asking good questions. T- Trust. This is the basis of a team. Empower people and set expectations. Best quote: Do things that scare you. Do the things that make you cringe a little. Alicia's Misfit 3: Never, ever stop learning. Put your learning into action. Do things that scare you. This episode continues to explain the RICH Life Framework. Today Newsflash: Adding a new segment to the show, occasionally we'll be sharing a newsflash or interesting tip that applies to all of us. Today's newsflash is, the good people at Podcast Movement mentioned me and Think Enriched, as one of 10 women you should know at PM17. See the post here. Speak the Lingo: Today's Leadership Lingo Term: Network Too many of us are concerned to start an income stream because, "I don't want to be too salesy..." Or, "I don't know anyone." Oh please. Consider the people you see at: school drop off kids' activities the gym church groups the same checker at the grocery store that is so friendly neighbors Use your skills and gently reach out to those in your daily routine. Those tiny conversations build the seed of trust with others. This is how you begin to plant the seeds of your network. Habits of Excellence: This week's Habit of Excellence: The Power Nap. WebMD shares why a power nap is more effective than caffeine. When's the last time you've had a power nap? 20-minute nap :(Stage 2 nap) is good for alertness & motor learning skills like typing and playing the piano. 30 to 60-minute naps helps decision-making skills, vocabulary memorization and direction recall. 60 to 90-minute naps allow you to make new brain connection and creative problem solving. How to Nap. Yes, really. We need to re-learn to energize ourselves: Be consistent. Keep a napping schedule. (1 to 3pm is prime time.) Go dark. Nap in a dark room if you can. Stay warm. Use a blanket, as your body temp drops while you snooze. Today's focus: Here's how to have happy, successful business relationships. Be genuinely interested. Learn about them because it's fun. Unexpected surprises. The best way to grow a new business relationship is to plant the seed. Next time you are working to create a solid business relationship, remember the acronym PLANT. What is PLANT? Simply, it is this: P: PLAN. "When you don't know where you are headed, any path will take you there." L: LISTEN. The best networkers know more about others. Show that you are listening (active listening skills.) Ask smart questions. A: AUTHENTIC. Let people know that who you are at the dinner table is who you are in the office. Let them see you. N: NEED. Watch for needs that you can fill. We're not talking money, here. Small needs that pop up. T: TRUST. Trust is credit which builds over TIME. You need to consistently be working on the first four skills to build that trust. A few ways to incorporate the PLANT strategy: Listen more intently. Fill a need that you can. Surprise people along the way. Turn a daily acquaintance into a business colleague. You can now start your own podcast and get your first two months of hosting.
